Monte Verde Tayrona

Nos encantó el hotel. Fuimos un grupo de 10 amigos y nos pareció el mejor hotel del viaje. La piscina no es muy grande pero el hotel está rodeado de maleza y tiene muy buenas vistas a Sierra Nevada. Está en la carretera de acceso al Parque Nacional y muy cerca de Don Diego. El personal es muy agradable.

Juan and Gloria are marvelous hosts. Monte Verde is a true paradise and they help make it so with delicious food, cordial hospitality. They know Parque Tayrona well and will assist in any way they can.

El lugar es lindo y la vista a la Sierra Nevada desde el restaurante es hermosa. Me gustó que es 100% pet friendly y podía estar con mis perros en cualquier lugar.

Reservé 3 noches, pero sólo pasé 1 noche en el bungalow que quería debido a un fallo en la tubería ya que no le llegaba agua, no era culpa de hostal realmente. Tuve que moverme de habitación por dos días seguidos y en el segundo cambio de habitación la limpieza no fue agradable. Sería bueno tener más lugares para ubicar equipaje ya que hay gusanos caminando por las paredes y en cualquier momento pueden entrar en nuestras cosas. En el bungalow que está ubicado de primero al entrar al hostal se siente mucho el ruido de la carretera, y en los que tienen aire acondicionado la luz se baja constantemente, por lo que muchas veces puede hacer calor. Son más frescos los que tienen abanico.

Nos encanto todo! Rodeado de verde y naturaleza, tuvimos la suerte de ver monitos. Destacamos por sobre todo los consejos de Alejo, la amabilidad de Jesús y la excelente cocina de doña ilsia

The room was clean and the bed was big as well as the bathroom. The meals they served were good. It is located close to Tayrona’s park. The staff was friendly.

They didn’t have good internet and we wanted to pay with e-wallets or even with card but it was complicated so I consider that they should have a back up plan in case of any emergency. It was difficult to get their replies to our questions by this platform or by what’s app (they said they didn’t have electricity) because we wanted to go to Tayrona so we wanted to get updates about the entrance as in the website isn’t clear. There aren’t many restaurants around. It was raining heavily and there was a lot of water coming inside the bathroom, they should fix the water leakage

Assez bruyant : on entend un peu la route et surtout les aller et venus. La chambre est assez vétuste.

L'expérience d'être dans un arbre. Le calme, la piscine, le restaurant très bon et le personnel.

Hôtel très appréciable, la vue, le cadre, les toucans, les petits singes qui peuvent passer dans les arbres. Vraiment incroyable avec la terrasse et le coin restaurant. Le personnel également très agréable

Het personeel was behulpzaam met het dragen van je bagage. Ze spraken Engels en dat was wel handig. Het hotel ziet er wel leuk uit, met allerlei trappetjes en een mooi zwembad en restaurant.

Ik had de boomhut gereserveerd, maar deze was voor mij (vrouw, 67) onbegaanbaar, terwijl ik normaal ter been ben. Je moet een wiebelige wenteltrap op, het was best hoog en heel smal en onverlicht. Met een gewone koffer nauwelijks te doen. De kamer was erg klein, veel kleiner dan op de foto's en donker. Ik heb de kamer niet geaccepteerd en om een andere gevraagd. Die was er niet meer, terwijl op booking.com nog wel een kamer stond. Ze hadden een naastgelegen hotel, maar daar was de aangeboden kamer zo teleurstellend dat ik een upgrade heb moeten boeken, maar moest daar wel voor bijbetalen. Al met al veel gedoe.

Very sweet details and the cook is amazing! She does amazing things and the food tastes increadible! Rooms are very sweet decorated with hammocks and the like. The host Thomas is increadible and super helpful with everything - when a problem comes up (although not in his power like an electricity breakdown in the area) he tries everything to solve it and does solve it (organized an own powerplant!) - great experience!!

Water is not running strong but I think this is in every hostel/hotel in that area the case.

Estaba cerca de varios locales comerciales para poder salir a comer o comprar, tenía buena señal WiFi, el personal fue muy amable y dispuesto a resolver nuestras dudas. Sugiero agregar lámpara de velador

Por eventualidades climáticas no tuvimos agua en la habitación todos los días. El desayuno demora bastante, adi que estas apurado por salir te recomiendo buscar desayuno afuera

Personnel adorable et hôtel hyper joli proposant une chambre dans les arbres. Le lieu est vraiment accueillant, on s'y sent bien.

Pas très loin du parc tayrona avec un accès par bus. La piscine est jolie et la réception aussi (bel environnement)

Nous avions une cabane isolée avec soit disant une piscine privée (qui était vide à notre arrivée), sale quand elle a été remplie, l'extérieur n'est pas entretenu, la cabane est trop loin de la wifi donc pas d'internet du séjour, pas d'eau chaude malgré un pommeau de douche à chauffe instantanée, fuite sous le lavabo, pas de shampoing. L'endroit pourrait être très beau (chambre la plus chère du domaine mais complètement laissée à l'abandon)

Great view from reception but that's about it

Treehouse has zero security and is falling apart. Staff made us pay for our breakfast which was included. We cancelled our stay and moved, way better value for money elsewhere.

Hotel bonito, com vista linda, bem perto do parque Tayrona. Vale muito pra quem irá fazer o parque pela entrada El Zaino.

O chuveiro é frio (não tinha reparado isso nos comentários antes), o atendimento é “solto”, quando cheguei não me explicaram o café da manhã, na hora de ir embora pedi um carro para aeroporto e me falaram COP180, mas ao chegar no aeroporto me cobrou COP210, liguei e mandei msg pro hotel e não responderam, foi uma situação pessima. O atendimento do Ale eh atencioso, no único dia que o vi por lá, nos demais o atendimento deixou muito desejar, como é uma região isolada, ter atendimento e suporte era essencial.

La atención y el servicio del staff, siempre muy atentos a colaborar. Te dan información sobre lugares y como llegar. El lugar se veía limpio y muy acojedor.

The location is close to Tayrona park entrance. If you does not have accommodation in the park it is a nice spot.

The kitchen staff was rude and we could not get our breakfast there despite having a nice kitchen and fruits on display. Dinner was decent.

Die Lage war etwas weit vom Park weg. Sehr hellhörig und da die Türen nur aus Holz waren hatten wir Kleintiere und ein Gecko im Zimmer zu Besuch

Le WiFi instable dans la chambre ou nous étions ,même si le lieu est propice à une déconnexion totale dans la nature . Pas de jacuzzi fonctionnel

El lugar en general es muy lindo, las vistas, amaneceres y atardeceres, hay un río cerca que es espectacular.

Debe mejorar la limpieza, mi habitación estaba sucia y las almohadas olían a sudor me tocó dormir sin almohadas.. mejorar la carta de desayunos.

El hotel se ve muy bonito por fuera y tiene una presentación agradable. El personal es muy amable; en especial Jeyson, quien siempre estuvo dispuesto a ayudar en todo. La comida del restaurante es muy rica, la cocinera cocina muy bien y se nota el cuidado en la preparación. Además, la señora del spa que ofrece los masajes es muy buena y brinda una experiencia relajante. También está relativamente cerca al Parque Tayrona, lo cual resulta conveniente para quienes desean visitarlo.

El hotel tiene varias cosas por mejorar. El aseo es uno de los puntos más débiles; tanto el jacuzzi como la piscina tenían muchos insectos. Entiendo que el hotel está muy expuesto a la naturaleza, pero aun así deberían reforzar la limpieza. En la habitación en la que nos alojamos con mi pareja, el control del aire acondicionado estaba dañado. En la madrugada la temperatura baja bastante y sin el control fue imposible regularla, lo que hizo que la primera noche fuera incómoda. Además, durante la madrugada no había nadie en recepción para ayudarnos. El baño también necesita mejoras: no tiene cortina ni separador, lo que hace que se moje todo. La ducha eléctrica nos pareció peligrosa, ya que estaba mal instalada y el agua se escapaba, lo cual genera preocupación por el tema de la corriente. Y no funciona solo salia agua fría. En general, por el precio —que no es económico— sentimos que al hotel le faltó bastante en mantenimiento y atención a los detalles.

The location was ok, still a bus ride away from Tayrona. The staff were great, friendly and helpful.

Honestly not much that the staff could do but my room had a lot of bugs in it, there was no hot water (I think this needs to be a bit cleaner on the booking page - only through reading very old reviews did I find any info on this) and there were a tonne of mosquitos by the swimming pool.

No fue lo que esperaba por ese precio en Tayrona, decepcionada.

La habitación tenía goteras en el lavabo y cisterna,nos dijeron que había agua caliente y no había , tampoco nunca la arreglaron ni comentaron que no se haría ,al menos para estar informados no dándonos largas cada mañana, la taza del baño estaba rota, la puerta de la habitación no cerraba y tenía puesto un candado que al no cerrar bien entraban mosquitos, el jacuzzi no era tal y estaba sucio, el primer día nos lo “medio apañaron”el segundo directamente llegamos y lo habían vaciado.El desayuno muy escaso, en hoteles por mucho menos nos han dado mucho más , de hecho tuvimos que decirle para que nos diera algo de fruta , zumo no lo vimos nunca (que según las fotos si hay). Las fotos no muestran la realidad del hotel. No digo que no esté “pasable”pero piden un precio muy desproporcionado para la calidad que dan y el servicio. Sinceramente la próxima vez pago tres veces menos y encuentro lo mismo, seguro.

Everything about the Monte Verde was top notch, including the staff, location, food and accommodation. Would absolutely stay here again and can't recommend this place enough.

Totally everything! That magical place is the most beautiful place , its a real paradise. The views from all of the parts of this hotel is something breathtaking .The host was super friendly,kind and he helped to us with everything. With the information about the places about the transport and he always tried to helped us with everything what we needed. Our “cabaña” was tidy, nice decorated and with the small jacuzzi . Also they have there swimming pool what they always care about so is clean. You can also make an order for the dinner and they will prepare it for you :) and of course also breakfast. Drinking morning coffee from that place hits different ☀️ I fully recommend this place 10/10

The views were stunning at Monte Verde. The staff were so kind and helpful. I enjoyed staying in the treehouse, where I felt part of the forest there.

Excellent stay in a dream-like location . A huge platform - dining area with astounding views of the mountains. Lovely and friendly pets - cat Maisu and dog Dumi. Phenomenal tree house. Alejandro was a most helpful and welcoming host. He has a wonderful personality. He provided us with lots of useful information provided about National Park , beaches, transportation, weather, etc. Thank you for the great time, attitude and facilities.

Cannot think of anything . It certainly helped that we were the only guests ( the Park had been closed for a few weeks) . Felt so magical and unique.

Praktische Lage um Tayrona und andere schöne Strände zu erreichen, Personal sehr freundlich mit süßen Tieren auf der Anlage. Tolle Aussicht vom Baumhaus aus, leckeres Essen und schöner Pool. Allgemein ein super Ort, wenn man eine Auszeit in der Natur möchte!

Im Baumhaus hört man leider viel Verkehr von der Straße. Es gab wegen Sturm mal ziemlich lange Stromausfall, aber dafür kann das Hotel natürlich nichts - muss einem nur bewusst sein, dass es passieren kann.

El personal ha estat molt molt amable i encantador! Ens han explicat tot! Ens han guardat les maletes per anar al parc i sempre amb un somriure. Les cabanyes són precioses i ben equipades i disposa de piscina que es maravellosa, amb unes vistes increíbles! Super recomanat! Està situat a tres minuts en bus de l’entrada al Tayrona, zona el Zayno.

Nice swimming pool and really great views from the breakfast terrace. A basic but comfortable private room with a hammock outside.

For the price room could have had a bit more character, maybe some hangers for clothes too.

Very calm and peaceful, right next to the road that leads to Tayrona entrance so its easy to catch a bus there. Steps away some restaurants and a shop so can grab necessities.

The hotel is on the hill so getting there with luggage requires walking 40 steep steps up. I received help with luggage on the way up, but there was noone to help me when checking out. Windows and the door are not very well isolated, so my room was full of bugs every evening, as light attracts it. Little pool next to my Chalet was full of bugs so I didnt use it. However, main pool was clean and nice. I would suggest improving seating faculity as plastic chairs are very hard to enjoy the sun.

Great location in front of the bus stop and 15min away from Parque Tayrona. Owner were really nice and made us feel at home. Breakfast was really good (eggs, arepas, coffee, juice, fruits) with different options available

Beautiful hostal very close to Tayrona park and easy to get to/from Santa Marta. The bus stops literally at the doorstep of the place. The couple who owned the place were very friendly and happy to give lots of tips on the area. Room itself was basic but comfortable. Bare In mind there’s no hot water but you won’t need it with the heat! Pool was also lovely.

Location is great, very close to Tayrona park entrance. Enviroment is very nice and pool also. breakfeast is also good.

The photos don't do this Hostel justice, the gardens around the huts and the surrounding mountain are amazing. The staff are friendly and welcoming, the pool is decent, and the food is great. Getting the bus to Tayrona National Park was super easy too, wait on the main road for next bus (blue, white, and green, running every 10/15 minutes) and be at the main park entrance in 7 minutes. Would also recommend going to Mendihuaca beach (pronounced mendy-whacker), use the same bus as Tayrona, just a few stops further down.

We stayed in one of the villas, the rooms didn't have air con but did have a couple of fans. Only having one bathroom for five people wasn't ideal although we could use the shower next to the pool in a pinch. No bin in the room either.

Mosquito net filthy and full of holes. Shower was just a plastic pipe coming out of the wall. No shower head or hot water. Lots of creep crawlies in room. Pool looked dirty. Tiny breakfast.OK for a child. Noisy main road with trucks and buses etc.

Nice location almost walking distance from El Zaino Entrance to Tayrona NP Clean pool. Ok breakfast.

Internet is intermittent, towels are not replaced even after 3 days but that’s expected in a hostel. Stairs could be an issue for some.

The location was key as we were heading to Tayrona National park which was only a short shuttle away. Not many other attractions near by though. We needed to be back in Santa Marta at 5am to catch our shuttle back to Cartagena and the staff arranged that for us at 4am which was very helpful! No wifi unless you are up at the reception area. They only serve breakfast which we didn't have time for so didn't get a chance to try it. There are a few restaurants near by with great food though! All in all a great place to stay for the value!

Grounds and staff were great. Beds comfortable and clean.

Cabin was close to the road. Trucks and motorcycles sounded like they were in the cabin until late at night.

little out the way, you are on a main road so you can’t really walk anywhere. however motor taxis and buses. the restaurant wasn’t open so only had breakfast so had to go out for food and no kitchen area. it was super quite but that’s not a negative to most but we did think it might be more hostal vibe. but maybe that is just in the name.

The water supply was a little unreliable - this is an issue affecting the area and not the hostel’s fault, but be aware that 24/7 running water is not likely!

I was expecting a room in a large building. It was my own little hut with my own patio and private bathroom. I can't explain how beautiful this place is. The cooks whip up your food to order. All the staff were always smiling and amazing. The pool was perfect after being out in the heat all day. I honestly can't recommend enough!!

What a beautiful hostal. Perched up a bit higher, so you had a beautiful view from the restaurant, overlooking the mountain, and lush greenery! Cute little private hut, with a perfect outdoor seating space. Great food in the restaurant on site, and very friendly owner, and staff. Great location, 2 kms from the second entrance to Tayrona.

extremely noisy - if you stay in the lower bungalow you won’t be able to sleep. it’s by express way with trucks passing for the whole night :(. and there is no hot water in the shower. it’s not even designed to have hot water :)
