Golden Tulip Hotel de’ Medici

Unfortunately, I was very disappointed with the service at this hotel. I actually used the parking for only two days, which should have cost €60, but I was charged €90. When we arrived, we were simply told to drive around the building and park behind the hotel. We found a private parking area there with the hotel’s name displayed on the wall, so we naturally assumed it was the correct place. We later discovered that it belonged to someone else. No member of staff came with us to show us the correct entrance, nor did anyone explain that the hotel parking was located underground. The hotel had registered our licence plate and the area was monitored by cameras, yet nobody warned us that our car was parked in the wrong place and could have been fined. When I asked about it the next day, I was told that it was my problem. Regarding the extra €30 charge, they said they would speak to management, but I never received a final answer—neither an approval, a refusal, nor any explanation. There was not even shampoo in the room. On the first day, the towels were changed and the room was cleaned, but during the following two days the room was not serviced at all, and even the toilet paper was not replenished. One receptionist seemed completely confused, while another was rude and sarcastic. This is not an acceptable way to treat hotel guests. To be fair, the location is not ideal, but it is not bad either. However, the hotel itself is very dated. The interior feels like it has not been renovated since the 1990s, and several areas and facilities appear worn out. The lift also makes worrying noises and vibrates noticeably when starting and stopping. I would not stay at this hotel again, nor would I recommend it to others. The age of the building was not the main issue—the greatest disappointment was the staff’s indifference, the poor service, and the complete lack of a proper response regarding the unjustified additional parking charge.

Das Zimmer war gross und besonders erwähnenswert die Qualität der Betten. Die Lage: Keine 20 Minuten zu Fuß zum Markt ist für uns in Ordnung, besonders wenn man berücksichtigt, dass es nachts sehr ruhig war. Kein Teppichboden im Zimmer. Die Mitarbeiter waren ausgesprochen freundlich und hilfsbereit. Besonders erwähnen möchte wir Brom und Penelope, die uns viele lohnenswerte Ziele vorgeschlagen haben.

Der Teppichboden in den Fluren könnte getauscht werden.

Beliggenheden

Værelserne var ikke som det de viste på billederne. Vi spurgte efter nye hovedpuder 4 gange før der skete noget. Værelserne som var renoveret fremstod med mange fejl. Der var ikke håndklæder til alle. Spaen var ikke eksisterende. Der var så meget vand på altanen at vi ikke kun bruge den, og selv efter flere forespørgsler blev der ikke gjort noget. Der var en konstant larm (mindet om centrifugering på vaskemaskine) på det værelse som de påstod var en suite, men som ikke var i nærheden af de billeder de havde lagt op. Der var ikke badekar som angivet.

In principe niks, ja zag alleen wel het verschil in de rest van het hotel. Deze was wat meer gedateerd.

Dans une rue calme en bord de canal au centre de Bruges. Une chambre très spacieuse calme et propre. Le petit déjeuner copieux et varié.

Hotel was clean and modern good layout with relaxing gardens. Breakfast had all you could want.

Les clients de la chambre voisine et les clients dans le couloir qui sont très bruyant avec des rires très tard et très tôt. Notre sommeil a beaucoup été perturbé. C’est dommage mais cela ne concerne pas directement l’hôtel. Pourquoi pas instaurer des panneaux de silence.

The room was remodeled and very comfortable. Very nice and quiet.

Need to update the common areas. Also, breakfast was good but needs to cook the scrambled eggs and bacon longer.

Hotel (muy bonito) y habitación tal cual en las fotos, habitación y aseo limpio, camas cómodas, ubicado en calle tranquila. Desayuno muy completo, tienes de todo. Cogiendo el autobus nº 2 (en la estacion de tren) te deja en una parada a 50 metros del hotel. En definitiva, gran hotel.

La estancia en el hotel fue genial, es un sitio limpio, tranquilo, muy cerca del centro. Los trabajadores muy atentos a las necesidades. Tenemos que dar las gracias a uno en especial, el chico que nos atendió en recepción el dia que llegamos, creo que se llama Brom, nos dio tips para buenos restaurantes y las mejores zonas para pasear!! Y fue una gran suerte para nosotros que el habla español! Asi que gracias por todo!!

Sehr schöne, ruhige Lage. Nettes Hotel, Zimmer sind groß und sauber. Frühstück war super, nur leider keine wirklich Auswahl an Obst.

Wir waren zu zweit und haben nur eine Zimmerkarte erhalten. Ansonsten alles gut.

Mooie locatie en fijn geslapen. Goed voor wat je betaald, enigszins verouderd maar kan er zeker nog mee door. Heel vriendelijke staff.

Niets groots, misschien een beetje gek ingedeelde badkamer maar dat mag geen naam hebben.

Gute Lage nicht weit vom Zentrum Zimmer sind komfortabel und gut ausgestattet. Frühstücksbuffet ist reichhaltig

The room was good, we had the accessible room because it was cheaper. Very good breakfast buffet with lots to choose from. The area is lovely and worth exploring, lovely architecture and the oldest bar/pub is only a few streets away. Can also recommend the restaurant 't Gezelligke, that is about a 10 minutes walk from the hotel and offers great food and the owners are lovely.

The hotel offers parking in a parking garage, but it is expensive at 30 euro a day. There is parking in the street, but you can only stay 4 hours during the day. There is a bar, but there is a very limited choice of food/snacks you can have in the evening. No comfy chairs to relax in after a day of walking around in the town.
