I found the breakfast lacking. No eggs and orange juice was weak. No lids for hot beverage cups. Only white bagels no whole wheat

The smell in the hallways, the tub did not look very clean and the bed was not comfortable. In comparison to other Wyndham hotels, breakfast had few options. It was also very expensive .

Very shabby, dirty carpets in room and hallways, the entrance foyer smelled musty, our sink faucet leaked and the tub shower didn’t drain very well. The furniture in our room was worn and ripped . The bathroom was small and had holes in the drywall. The selection of breakfast food was limited and they ran out of coffee. Overall the facilities need a major update , paint job and needs to be redecorated. I’m usually long on compliments and short on complaints but this facility warranted a bad review. Hopefully management will heed my advice and do something for future patrons to improve the facilities for a nicer stay.

Breakfast was very simple, no eggs,sausages,bacon or ham.Parking I guess its okay, its not secure at all anyone can park there, I dont, think that its any security there.

Breakfast, carpet in the room and hallways, bathtub to be cleaned and most importantly to have security access to the building and not for anybody that its not a guest to be able to enter your premises.

This motel is literally at the GATE TO GRAVENHURST and has been here a long time. It does show some age but as a "budget" venue this is a reasonable bang for the buck considering the obscene prices of Muskoka big-chain resorts. The young lady at RECEPTION was extremely welcoming, friendly and efficient, and dealt very quickly with a problem I later had with the TV in the room. As this is only two floors with no elevator, any mobility issues should request a ground floor. I also might suggest facing west so as to avoid any traffic noise. The hallways and flooring are disturbingly stark and cold and did not give a welcoming feeling. But fortunately , despite the rooms giving off a 1970's vibe they were relatively modern and very clean, although the carpeting has seen better days. Nice to see a wall-mounted thermostat and an HVAC unit which was fairly quiet. Modern bathroom mirror, slow-close toilet lids and new tiling floors in the toilet-bath area. Plenty of higher quality towels and soaps were present. The sleep quality was excellent on large comfortable mattresses and a choice of three firmness pillows. Complimentary continental breakfast was pretty basic in a rather sterile, cafeteria-type room (maybe a coat of "warm" colour paint and some Muskoka decor might help). Presentation was fresh with breads, muffins, fruit, cereals, coffee and juices. The coffee left a LOT to be desired, however. All-in-all a basic and reasonably-priced "base" to rest after a day of exploring Muskoka but don't expect a palace.

The hotel pillows could have been nicer but otherwise our stay was great. The location was great.

The Breakfast was sparse, there could be more items offered. The price we paid on the booking app was more than if we had called the hotel directly to book. I was disappointed with that as I thought using the booking app was a way to get a good deal like Expedia etc.

The location was Ok to reach where we wanted. There was free breakfast and free parking spots.

The room was not too bad, number 118, but the door to the washroom was broken, not closing properly. The washroom had no sink. The sink was on the hallway, without any privacy when washing your underarms, etc. At least to put up a curtain to have some privacy. At the bottom of the entrance there was a piece hanging there from the wall. The bed sheets weren't changed every day! The breakfast was poor, no eggs, no variety of teas.

Fair value for money. Breakfast had less options than other places and was not worth the minimal extra $; however, those other breakfasts are utimately not so great either so this complaint is negligible. Solid middle-of-the-road. Kind and friendly staff, nice location, easy in-and-out, let us check-in early, dated and musty main hallways and no elevator, but room was absolutely fine. We got what we paid for at the height of cottage season. Based on this, rating of Very Good.

Check-in went smoothly and staff was really pleasant. Breakfast was a bit weak, featuring toast, coffee and muffins, but lacked eggs and sausages. On the other hand, there were very few guests that night, so I suppose the manager was being cost-concious.

Terrible smell in the room. We had to cancel one night (had 2 nights booked) and find somewhere else to stay because of the horrible smell,which only get worse during the night 🤮.

Plastic cutlery and very small paper plates and bowls at breakfast in a room that really felt like a canteen in the army! This really took the enjoyment out of breakfast. Changing this would make the experience significantly better And the toaster had no handles on the leavers and was very difficult to use.

Nothing much. Everything was in order. I've seen other units in that region who let their breakfast room open and place a coffee machine accessible to guest, but that's them. Everything was great here.

Good for stay

For breakfast milk was spoiled and they offered cereal an coffee. There was about 6 bagels and about 6 pieces of bread. There was peanut butter, jam, cream cheese and bananas. I considered this the worst breakfast ever offered.

I liked that my room was on the first floor level and backed onto the back of the hotel and not near the smoking area. There was a problem with the sink stopper, it did not seal and thus the water drained away. If I flushed the toilet, I had to make sure that the flap closed or it would run on. I had hoped a little more variety in cereal choice than Corn Flakes.

Loved the renovated room with the door leading to the outside. Breakfast had a great variety with very clean eating area. Staff were very friendly. We would recommend the Howard Johnson to all Travellers.
