Hard to say. It was under construction but MB Ev charger was in lot so that was super convenient.

Other than the smoke alarm going off at 1:20 and evacuating the hotel was wonderful

Pool is under renovation, no laundry had to go to hotel next door, air conditioner was leaking and my son fell and hit his head twice! Let the front desk not only know but see my sons bruise on his head from falling and they told me they couldn’t do anything…

when I booked the room, I had confirmed reservations for a king bed with a sofa pull out bed. When I checked in to the room, there was no sofa. I let the front desk know that there was no sofa, and I showed the receptionist that I had confirmed booking for a room with a sofa pull out bed. The receptionist said that the web site was out of date, and that their hotel no longer had sofas. I explained that I had 4 people staying and there was only 1 bed. She said there was nothing she could do. I asked if the hotel had at least a roll out bed but, she said the hotel didn't have any. I asked if the hotel had any rooms with 2 queen beds, and she said that none were available. 2 people had to sleep on the floor. The receptionist could have at least offered a partial refund. The site misrepresented the hotel's amenities.

Staff at front desk, Mark, was great during checkout - was informative about facilities (let us know about possible door issues, which we didn’t have) and let us know about breakfast times, etc. Breakfast was great; everyone in our party found something they wanted and one was quite happy to find a waffle maker! Overall, the room staff, and amenities were quite good. Thank you!

The breakfast was nice and easily accessible. The room was easy to get in and out of and the ac worked. The charging nightstands were nice.

The pool was closed and they "weren't sure when itd be open" it wasnt listed as closed on the website or posted anywhere, we had just happened to walk past a maintenance worker while checking to see if it was open. I actually specifically canceled my previous booked hotel for this one with a pool. They asked when we wanted the room taken care of but nobody ever came. Also the "in case you forgot" was just candy which I found annoying when I ventured downstairs for a thing of Tylenol and water. The mattress also sucked, its a hotel and I don't expect much but a whole day after we had left and I still have back and hip pain. Fridge is also very small and hard to open.

The rooms were clean and comfortable. Fantastic breakfast bar and the staff were kind and helpful.

That the pool was out of service the entire stay. The ice machine didn’t work on our floor. The air conditioner in our room made an awful chirping noise when it was on. There was construction when we arrived which made it hard to pull up to unload our vehicle.

We arrived around 1 p.m. from Boston and the young man at the counter was very courteous and helpful in taking our luggage so that we could head into Salem for the day. In the evening we were having issues with the television and channels, the young lady that was working the front desk was kind enough to come back on two occasions that evening to assist, however the issue was never resolved.

The facilities was under heavy construction that was not made known to us in advance. The pool supposedly has just been renovated, however there were some mechanical issues that came about and it was closed. We also received an email the day of checkin letting us know that WiFi was down and they were trying to resolve the issue. The television in our room would only show channels 1,2 and 3 and all other channels would show up as static. The morning we were checking out, we had connected their hairdryer to one of their wallplugs, and it popped a fuse, causing all the power to go out in the room. We had to call the front desk, to have it fixed. On a second attempt, the issue occurred once again and took them 10 minutes to fix. Needless to say, we could not use the hairdryer. Unfortunately, one of the worst experiences to close out my vacation to Massachusetts, and very upset with myself for not having gone with one of my other options available to me at the time of booking my stay.

1st room we had was dirty with water and hair on the floor. 2nd room there was industrial duck tape in the deadbolt of the door. Took us about 5 minutes to get it off. The Manager would not speak to us she she was never there. So we were told! We were constantly told " she'd be in" yet she never was! We aware! Pool was broken and construction started at 7am right outside our window!

The bed was comfortable, the towels were great. Pillows also were great. The cooling system worked well. The shower also was good, as was breakfast.

We were never able to work the tv, there were no instructions. The cooling system was being held up by 2 pieces of wood. The coffee maker had to be moved to the bathroom because there was no electrical outlet nearby. There was no waste basket in the bedroom, only in the bathroom. This was not the usual standard we are use to when staying at Hampton. First impressions are important, with that in mind, the carpet in the elevators is filthy.

I like that Peabody was so close to Salem and Boston. It was easy to get to both locations and we even took a drive up to Maine. The front desk person that was working on the second night that we were there was wonderful. We lost power to our room twice and she got us a new room and even gave us some points.

There was a lot of construction on the property. The guy working the first night put us in a room next to a room under construction and we were awoken early. When we first got there, the door to our room wouldn’t open. The front desk guy said to try pulling up the handle instead of pushing down on it. That worked. Breakfast was fine, but because of the construction, it was not what I had come to expect from Hampton Inn. It was just disappointing overall. Especially since we had just stayed at a Hampton Inn in Niagara that was spectacular.

The front desk staff was very nice.

I was unaware there was renovations during my stay. No pool which was my go to for my kids. Only one outlet worked in my room and that was in the bathroom. The wifi was inconsistent and would go in and out.

The staff was great, location is perfect for visiting Salem & Boston. Our TV didn't work when we got there but staff was amazing on getting it taking care of. This is our 3rd time staying here and we will again.

They are remodeling and I wasn't told till 48 hours before our stay. The pool & fitness center are closed. There was banging and work being done at 8am. There was the usual supplies and dust all over. Our floor was the only one not renovated yet. The carpet was dirty and you could see where they started to do patch work to update. The bathroom had someone else's hair on the floor when we checked it. There were broken fictures in the bathroom. It was a little annoying especially when you're just looking for a quite get away to sleep in & relax.

It was gross, bugs in the beds. Beds not made, rooms were dirty and floor was sticky. We were told our rooms weren’t ready, five minutes later told they were. TVs didn’t work and had to be fixed multiple times. They were doing renovations and didn’t bother to tell us beforehand. Staff were rude and tried to turn the issues around on us. Walked in without knocking, and unlocked the doors with their keys. Wouldn’t stay there ever again

No one informed us when booking or after that it was under renovations. These renovations including listening to dump trucks empty until about 1 am. I was not in an updated room but paid the same as a team mate who did get an updated room. Our walls were so thin that I could have a conversation with our neighbor. In the middle of the night I could hear people lifting their toilet see, hear them actually peeing and then putting the seat down. There were tarps in the lobby and the “free” breakfast essentially included bananas. We booked there for the pool specifically and that wasn’t available. I feel that this should have all been presented and/or a discounted rate offered.

I appreciated that the staff were sorry about the horrible state of the hotel and very apologetic about the ongoing construction (regarding which, Booking.com provided no warning). I was moved to a brand new room on the 6th floor that was very nice and clean, but the cold lighting and bare flooring made it feel unwelcoming.

The past reviews/rating for this hotel are totally outdated. The hotel was in a horrible, filthy state undergoing construction as of Feb 2026. There was constant hammering and drilling from early to late. Guests were notified Wednesday evening that there would be no water in the building from 9am until 2pm the next day with no compensation provided. This hotel should not be open until the construction is complete and the entire building is at the standard of the new rooms on the 6th floor.

It was quiet and was very impressed with the breakfast options.

the room was a bit of a mess. The bathroom had holes in the ceiling, wallpaper patches falling off, screws coming loose from the shower curtain rod and the shower curtain itself was torn. The spout for the bathtub was VERY loose and the shower pressure was very poor regardless of setting

The lobby/common area and breakfast area was nice. Pool was probably fine for kids but eh for adults… not warm enough for winter and dated feeling.

Rooms definitely need a bit of an update- small TV, dated shower with a bit of a clogged drain… but it didn’t feel dirty, just older.
