Golden Shell Residence

The room was suitable for a solo traveller and provided a private space for one person. The location was convenient for getting around.

There is no kitchen or refrigerator on the property, so guests should be prepared to purchase drinking water and bring their own basic utensils if needed. There is only one electrical outlet in the room, which is used for the kettle. The property is located on the 3rd floor, and guests will need to use the stairs to access the room. There is no elevator available. The property is located close to the road, so some traffic noise may be heard. The neighborhood can also be occasionally loud at times.

Excellent Cozy and comfortable room with AC, bath, fridge, and basic facilities. got a room in the terrace so quite breezy too. Akhi, the host, was really helpful with arranging and coordinating everything

Excellent rapport qualité prix pour ce logement. Il est bien placé pour rayonner sur le secteur Est (débarcadère des départs piur l'île aux Cerfs accessible à pied). Aki et sa famille sont très accueillants et disponibles.

La rue est un peu passante avec plusieurs épiceries. Il est parfois un peu difficile de stationner car les passants se garent devant les portes pour partir faire leurs achats. Il faut juste se garer plus loin et attendre le bon moment pour rentrer la voiture dans le garage)

The accommodation is clean and has a hair dryer, fridge, rooftop terrace, TV, AC and good wifi connection. The price is the best you can find. If you want to visit the east coast, I would recommended it.

Notre chambre donnait sur la route donc très bruyante. Correct pour le prix sans oublier les taxes touristiques à ajouter à chaques nuits et par personnes sur toute l'île.

Дешево и супер душевно. Хозяин всегда на связи. Ходила пешком на пляж дальний, час туда час обратно. Рядом магазины, кафе, есть обмен валюты даже))) но до него нужно идти. В номере было тихо и чисто. Цены дешевле на всё, чем на юге и западе в разы. Рекомендую это место.

Слабое освещение, автобус это отдельная боль)) но это отностится к восточной части острова в целом.

There was a shop in front.

Extremly dirty, the bathroom has not been cleaned for ages, the toilet cistern was broken, the cover was up so you can see the dirty water, when you flush the toilet the water splashes, sometimes the cistern was just empty of water. The general smell was horrible, the door was a glass door covered with an old dusty dirty curtain. First day i came there was already a lizard living there. The area is very loud and dangerous especially when it gets dark.

Fui muito bem atendido no local pela família que administra a residência, internet e comodidades eram boas, e no meu quarto tinha fogão para cozinhar.

Estacionar não era simples e a rua bem movimentada, mas logo você se acostumar, as vezes caia a luz direto no mesmo dia.

Gemütliches kleines Zimmer mit Klimaanlage. Viele Supermärkte und Restaurants in der Umgebung. 10 Minuten laufen, um zum öffentlichen Strand zu gelangen.

Etwas zu wenig Platz, wenn man mit großem Gepäck ankommt.

In un monolocale con angolo cucina dovrebbe esserci un forno o almeno una piastra elettrica ma qui non c' era. Inoltre la stanza, gia buia di suo perché al primo piano, aveva due lampadari su tre con le lampadine bruciate che non sono state sostituite, nonostante la nostra segnalazione. Il miscelatore della doccia non si riusciva a posizionare in una posizione di acqua calda accettabile.

Das Angebot für ein Tagesausflug mit einem Katamaran war sehr gut. Das Bett war prima und die Ausstattung ok.

Am letzten Tag lag eine große tote Kakerlake auf dem Fußboden - aber das ist vielleicht normal am Äquator. Um zum Treppenhaus zu kommen, musste man immer sehr nah an Autos vorbei.

La disponibilité du staff. La literie extra propre. La facilité de prise en charge des différentes attractions et le transfert aux différentes activités. De même pour la location auto et le transfert aéroport.

Absence de nécessaire de nettoyage : balai, pelle, serpillière. Le stationnement compliqué à effectuer

Rien à fuir sais horrible. Jamais vue un endroit comme celui-ci.

Les toilettes cassé la chambre horrible un bruits impossible de fermer les yeux .les rideaux déchirer....enfin bref un cauchemar.

Приняли хорошо, выдали номер моментально, гараж присутствует. Рядом в 10 минутах на автомобиле лучший пляж на востоке острова Belle Mare. Апартаменты цена качество нас устроили за такие деньги. Под аппартаментами супермаркет, на против ещё один супермаркет. В номере принадлежности для приготовления пищи, плита, посуда и т.д.

В 4-5 минутах пешим ходом есть местный пляж, но он нас не устроил. Грязный. Немного шумновато по ночам, рядом дорога.

The property is tacked away in a serene neighbourhood with good ambiance. There are food outlets nearby and there is also supermarket withing the complex.

Value for money.

Was expecting basic toiletries since this is not technically an Airbnb.

We visited Golden Shell Residence in April 2025. It's located in the beautiful peaceful village of Trou d'Eau Douce on the east coast of Mauritius. Small shops, bus stop, cash machine, all is nearby. The small public beach is in walking distance (10 minutes). Nice larger beach is in Palmar (4 km). The accommodation is clean and has a hair dryer, fridge, rooftop terrace, TV... The price is the best you can find on Mauritius. The owner is very helpful and offers you trips to nearby islands Ile aux Cerfs but also tours all around Mauritius and other activities for reasonable price. We forgot something in our room and he was so kind to send it all the way to Europe. Thank you again! If you want to visit the east coast, I would recommend to stay in Golden Shell Residence in Trou d'Eau Douce. Best price, friendly staff, nice village.

Of course please don't expect 5* hotel but there was nothing to complain about. The only thing that could be a bit unpleasant is the temperature. It's very hot in the room even with the fan turned to fastest. But with windows and doors opened it's quite good. The neighbourhood is very safe so you don't have to be worried there.

Nice place on the east of the island. We were in 2 separate comfortable rooms close to each other. The owner has small turtles. A piece away from here are some great beaches for snorkeling and Liitle island - my picture below.

It would be more good if provided with teabags, sugar and a bottle water. So that I could have enjoy a nice cup of☕ in the morning after a beautiful sleep😍 bathing soap was also missing 😄😄...

The host was very friendly and it can be contended that he wants to please his customers. The apartments are well located, with supermarkets and pharmacy just 1 min away by foot.

Private parking on-site. A line in front of the room to hang out wet clothes or towels. Central location (though that meant lots of noise), close to shops, restaurants, and... the post office. The bathroom was enormous and had really hot water (unique feat for bugdet stays on the island!). The host quickly and successfully addressed an issued with a water leak.

The room had no air con (didn't notice that when booking) and was under the building's roof, so got a bit stuffy. There was a rather loud and dusty fan which didn't move horizontally. The street outside got a bit noisy due to some loud mufflers... The washbasin was leaking water, which was fixed the next day, though. The toilet tank wasn't fixed, though, but that wasn't leaking, was just a bit "open" (nothing major, see picture).

This is Budget Accommodation, however the property was immaculately maintained by the family who live and work in the building. The room was regularly cleaned, towels and sheets replaced, and to my surprise 24 hour hot water. Well worth the money. The room had a new TV, which allowed me the opportunity of using my Firestick to watch UK channels and sport. Car or Scooter rental is eventual here.

The Room faced a very busy main street, facing a Supermarket opposite, and one below. The noise was constant from 6am until 9pm. This did not bother me, but could be a problem for a family with small children. Parking (even in Winter) was difficult, sometimes impossible.
