Great Room, Comfortable Bed, great food, super breakfast
Twin Beds - Zipped Together but left a gap in-between so you have to lie either side of it
We had a wonderful stay at The Bath Arms Hotel and honestly couldn’t have asked for a better experience. The pub itself is lovely and homely, with a really welcoming atmosphere. Our room was spacious, spotlessly clean and very comfortable. The owners were absolutely delightful — so welcoming, friendly and attentive, and they really made us feel at home from the moment we arrived. The food was another highlight. We had dinner at the hotel and the steak & ale pie was particularly delicious! Breakfasts were equally lovely and set us up perfectly for our day. All in all, we had a fantastic stay and thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of it. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend The Bath Arms and will definitely be staying again when we’re next in Cheddar!
Nothing! It was all fabulous!
Lovely location, it is on a busy road but it did not disturb our sleep. The bar and dining room are a good size.
The furniture was a bit tired in the room, lots of stains on the hall and room carpet. The breakfast selection was a little limited.
Location and staff
Security needs improving. Extra bolts/locks inside doors. Room safes for belongings. Beds were very noisy and creaky.
Welcoming staff and interior. Food also very good.
Clean, nicely maintained - older building with modern bathrooms and amazing staff. Beautiful cooked and continental breakfast.
Staff amazing couldn’t do enough for you even making sure you had water to travel home with
Nothing
Staff that go the extra mile. Truly wonderful experience, unexpected in today’s society.
Perfect location for exploring Cheddar Gorge & caves. Very friendly staff and nothing was too much trouble. The room was large with lots of extra things (sweets, snacks & bottles of water) included in the price. We had a great weekend and would highly recommend The Bath Arms for a stay in Cheddar.

The location of The Bath Arms Hotel is perfect for walking the nearby Cheddar Gorge and Mendip Way. Breakfast is of a high standard with lots of choices. Dinner is also of a high standard. The staff are very helpful and curtious and nothing is too much trouble to make your stay enjoyable . Would recommend to family and friends.
The Hotel faces the main road, so traffic noise can be heard. The Hotel does provide ear plugs which helps.
Very friendly and accommodating staff. Allowed us to leave our car on the day of leaving while we went to visit the caves. Fresh milk for room available in little flasks. Biscuits, peanuts and jelly babies in room. Lovely breakfast and fab pub.
WiFi was a bit fickle.
The staff were so friendly. A special mention to Murray who was so welcoming. The evening meal and breakfast were exceptional. The location within Cheddar was superb. One of our favourite overnight stays while on walkabout.
Nothing. 10/10.
A great welcome and staff were friendly throughout our stay. Food was great especially the eton mess. Room and bathroom were spacious, very clean and well decorated. Complimentary Soaps, shampoos and lotions, as well as tea, coffee, nuts and sweets. Only a 10 minute walk to the main tourist area.
Having to leave.
Location was beautiful. Breakfast included in the price is a fresh cooked breakfast rather than purely continental. Staff were very friendly.
Staff were excellent and the rooms were nice. We stayed during the heatwave so it was hot in the room but there was a fan provided so sleeping was fine. We were also given bottles of water on our departure, a thoughtful touch. Lovely breakfast and complementary snacks in the room. Room was also spacious. Great location.
Our room was at the front which was a bit noisy (windows open) with people outside and traffic but the noise died down at a reasonable hour.
The staff were attentive and helpful throughout and did there best when dealing with an issue or when providing information. Breakfast was great, although x2 items I didn't want on the plate were. Location, excellent.
The heat in the room given the external temp was only 24/25, was extreme and the fan provided not fit for any purpose. Was replaced but seen better days. The room was very clean but the room needed a freshen up. The toilet seat beyond appealing and need replacing. The wifi was down and after convincing the team that I was correct and can connect to WiFi via devices, they checked and reset. It then worked. Plastic from TV fell off.
Everything. Lovely room, great location and super friendly staff. A big shoutout to Murray for whom nothing was too much trouble and who made us feel welcome every day.
Nothing
Great location. Friendly staff and good food.
Limited as we are vegan
Room got very warm due to direct sun
Vriendelijk personeel en lekker eten
De kamers liggen aan een doorgaande weg. Als je het raam opendoet, dan kan je niet slapen door het zware verkeer. Geen airco. Dus op warme dagen slaap je heel slecht daar.
Central location Good food also had evening meal Staff were very pleasant and helpful
Nothing
Great service, good food, clean rooms
The was clean and comfortable. The hotel was within walking distance from Cheddar Gorge. The staff were attentive and friendly. Breakfast was served, not a buffet.
The hotel was close to a busy road but the hotel provided earplugs which was a nice touch.
The Location
We stayed 3 nights and every morning they got the fried breakfast wrong!
Friendly staff and comfortable rooms
Nothing
Staff were very helpful and friendly. Cooked breakfast was great.
Bath, shower and basin in room was blocked. Decor was tired. Generally the place felt dirty, the floors were sticky.
Beautiful British Hotel very close to the gorge
The team at the Bath Arms were great. Thank you.
Lovely staff , Very clean , nice complementary snacks
The staff were fabulous from check in until check out, food was good and staff kindly delivered to our room after a long drive.
The room was right above the kitchen (we think) and heavy industrial fan noise until nearly 9pm. The hotel itself was located on a main road whereas we expected from the pictures to be in a more quiet countryside setting
The Location
We stayed for 3 nights, 2 days they somehow managed to get the breakfast wrong despite writing it down.😙
Well located with ample parking. The rooms were large and clean and the beds were comfortable. Although bookings made a mistake in letting us have one room the manager somehow fitted us in and this was well appreciated..
Nothing
Location within walking distance of the caves and gorge. Excellent staff, very friendly and good restaurant. Ample parking. Great breakfast. Daily housekeeping.
Nil
Really nice rooms, very comfortable and clean. Great location for visiting the Gorge. Really friendly staff.

The Bath Arms Hotel is a Pub/Restaurant/Hotel. It's right in the centre of Chedder. It's on the main road, but it was quiet at bed time so not a problem. It's a very popular place the bar and restaurant were very busy on the midweek night that we stayed there. The food is all cooked fresh when ordered so there can be a short wait, but it's worth it. We had an evening meal and breakfast, Both were Excellent. Our bedroom was a superior double, very large and very clean. The bathroom was also very large with a shower over a bath. It too was nice and clean. All the staff were very friendly and super helpful.
My only niggle was that the very large double bed had a obvious joint down the middle (two singles pushed together) not normally a problem, but on this occasion it was. It's a very old listed building so expect a few anomalies it's part of its character. .
The food was amazing and the staff were very helpful
The location was ideal for exploring Cheddar. The room was clean and very comfortable. The shower was fantastic. The food was excellent and great value for money. The staff were friendly and very helpful nothing was too much trouble
The only negative was there wasn’t a plug near either mirror for the hair dryer
Location and ample parking
Noisy rooms, banging doors and road noise. Dated rooms showing heavy wear/use.

Nothing
The breakfast was really good, cooked on demand which makes a change from other places we have stayed at. The Dinner was really tasty as had the chicken thighs in honey and mustard sauce. The bed was really comfortable.
The Bath Arms is situated on a busy road. As the Arms does not have double glazing, because it being a listed building, the noise from the road during the night was quite noticeable and sitting out on the patio in front off the entrance.
Ample parking and walking distance to Cheddar Gorge. Decent cook to order breakfast
On the main road of Cheddar village and all rooms except one facing the road. If you’re a light sleeper like myself, it can be tricky to get a good night sleep. The property offers earplugs is a telling. The property is a pub and restaurant. Noises from a birthday party downstairs travel upwards. It’s rated as 4*. However there isn’t a swimming pool. I’ve always thought that a 4* hotel differentiates having a pool to a 3*. Bath Arm can be rated as a very good 3* hotel but doesn’t have the facilities that a 4* offers. No shampoo and conditioner in the bathroom but extra handwashing liquid soap.
Staff Manager Murray was very professional and helpful whist being very approachable Food was in no way pub grub but very good value
Lovely traditional property. Great location.
Perfect location, plenty of parking. Boutique and comfortable.
Nothing
Mostly all good.
We had to move rooms because , unfortunately the bath tap broke off. New room had broken bedside lamp.
The manager and all the staff Were very nice
There nothing I diddent like
Great location. Great staff. Fabulous food.
Room a bit dated. We were unlucky with noisy person in neighbouring room who was chatting until 11.30pm (old building, thin walls). Dinner was fabulous but shame the bar was very busy and noisy. Luckily the food did make up for that.
The room and bathroom were a really good size, it was clean and we asked for extra pillows, nothing was too much trouble. The staff was amazing, and the freebies you get in your room every day was a lovely touch.
There was nothing we didn’t like, it is an excellent hotel, the food was amazing and will definitely stay there again.
I loved the age of the property and the decorations, it felt like a really special place.
The bed was slightly uncomfortable on my back.

Breakfast and dinner wre well made.
A blind at the bathroom window would have been good.
Location was good for the area,, and car parking was included . Breakfast was tasty with good service.
Road noise was very loud in the room, and it disturbed sleep. I can see why they put earplugs in the room. Had to leave after the first night as we had a family problem back home, but I was still charged for two nights.
Friendliness of the staff, lovely decor, fabulous food and menu, beautiful room with lovely complimentary toiletries, tea, coffee and chocolate. Little jars of sweets and nuts and bottled water both sparkling and still.

Feels much older than it really is (in a good way), Staff were excellent . Only stayed overnight. I’m sure if we’d stayed longer the other scores would have been higher!
1 side of the Car park resembles the famous nearby landscape feature 🤣
The Hotel was wonderful. The building is an old Grade II listed building and so the rooms are very spacious. The staff did everything to make us comfortable, even down to a personalised letter in the room listing all the relevant details needed for the stay. The room and ensuite were lovely and comfortable, and even though we had been warned about noise as the hotel is on the main road I didn't find it noisy at all. The food was absolutely amazing. I have Coeliac Disease so to find somewhere with so much choice on the menu, that was aware of issues with being gluten free was fantastic. I had fish and chips for dinner and I have to say in the 16 years of being gluten free, it was the best fish and chips I have ever had! The breakfast the next day was the same, nearly all the menu had GF options and the food was delicious. The owner went out of her way to chat to everybody, getting to know them and suggesting places to visit in the local area, and when we checked out we were given a complimentary bottle of water each for the journey home. Would highly recommend the Bath Arms Hotel.
The only real issue that I had was the because the building is a Grade II listed building they cannot to anything to change the look of the building so that means the windows are the originals. This meant that there was a lot of condensation on the window when we woke up and the room was a bit draughty.
Lovely building in good position to everything.
Loved everything
Staff and food was great very welcoming.
It is looking very worn now the bedrooms what renewing with furniture pillows was lumpy and matress has see better days and the same for the bed frame. I only stayed for one night but i dont think you could do more. Also a delivery lorry came quiet quick down the drive way @ 04:45 maybe they should be a little more considerate of guest staying.
Easy location to access , very friendly staff
Bed was a bit hard
Good situation near the Gorge
Beautiful location
NA
All the staff were so friendly, the rooms were a lovely size and lovely and modern. Free parking and excellent facilities greeted with a welcome letter and some goodies.
Breakfast and dinner were very good.
Good menus for dinner and breakfast. Well prepared and well served food. Good local beer. Attentive and helpful staff. Individually printed "welcome letter" a nice touch.
Sound proofing in room could be improved. We did explain the problem to the staff.
The Room was great and spot on. Staff are excellent, friendly, and helpful. Huge car park. Fantastic breakfast . Excellent stay, I will recommend it to anyone.
A small fridge in the room would be better.
Very good breakfast & service
the bath
when I had to leave the bath
Zeer ruime kamer, fijne douche, vriendelijk servicegericht personeel en restaurant bij het verblijf
Zit langs erg lawaaiige drukke autoweg, kamers aan de voorkant hebben daar goed last van
Breakfast excellent.
Dinner - menu limited & not to our taste & rather expensive. Stairs rather difficult for older guests with luggage.
Lovely location in a town with so much to do. The hotel has loads of character and the staff were all lovely. We had one evening meal of the smaller meal menu, 2 courses for £20. Exceptional value, definitely not small. We had a superior room and the bed was larger and very comfortable. Lovely big bath with loads of hot water.
Initial glance around the room was good, however it is tired. Metal window frames covered in rust, paint going off in large chunks in many areas. Bathroom floor come away from the bath panel, which needs repainting. Curtains need replacing or at least rehanging. A shame as a handyman with an afternoon would probably get this almost completely sorted
Just a great position for the Gorge
Maybe a bigger menu re main courses
So clean and spacious
Breakfast was disappointing. We have stayed here several times and breakfasts have always been good but not this time. Advertised as cooked to order but it was not. The bacon was chewey the mushroom like rubber and the tomato was not coked at all, the sausage was dry and the scrambled egg was lovely.
Staff, the establishment, food and location.
Nothing, all was good
Welcome was great. Car parking. Comfortable bed. Facilities were excellent. Nice letter from staff about facilities and about Cheddar.
Nothing. Everything was great. Mixer tap for bathroom sink would have been good, but not really a big problem.
Everything, the food is exceptional and so are the staff. Very clean and very well organised

The restaurants are amazingly decorated for christmas with wonderful open fires / log burners. Staff here are amazing. So welcoming.
nothing!
The hosts were wonderful, we got water and snacks, great pub and restaurant downstairs and lovely breakfast.
The shower temperature wasn't warm enough. It wasn't cold, but not warm enough
We actually booked here by accident (we were meant to book another bath arms), but it was an excellent mistake! The staff were absolutely lovely and couldn't do enough to help us. The food was brilliant (excellent value) and the hotel was very cosy and a lovely stay
Very convenient parking, super clean room. The owner and all of the staff make you feel welcome from the moment you arrive. The restaurant and bar is lively and full of character and the food is superb.
Very helpful and happy staff, perfect location and the food was superb
The staff were very welcoming, friendly, helpful and professional. Very nice, spacious room and bathroom. Excellent food 👍👍👍
Staff were great and really enjoyed my stay there
It was friendly, clean and the food was lovely. The mushroom starter was really lovely.
It was a bit noisy at night due to the road. However that didn’t bother me. Ear plugs were provided
All staff were extremely helpful, very friendly and professional. The food was very good nicely presented and hot. The room was nice and clean. Lover the shower. The bed was ok and I slept ok Overall I enjoyed my stay and I would return.
There was not much choice on the menu. What let the Bath Arms down was that the interior paint work was a tad jaded as were the curtains!
The food was amazing, the location perfect and the people friendly and polite. Will be going back for sure!
Nothing - everything was fab.
Breakfast was excellent.
Location
Nice and cozy inn, I reccommend it
Good location and clean. Many of the staff are really friendly and accommodating. Easy parking. Good sized bathroom.
Unfortunately our room at the back of the building was adjacent to the kitchen roof and the extractor fan which, when on, was really noisy. Food was okay, but not the standard of 2 AA rosettes, even though that’s what the Hotel advertised during our stay. Oddly, it’s not listed by AA at all, so it makes me wonder if they were promoting an out-of-date status.
