Very clean and perfect location

Location, friendliness of staff, well kept and clean. Excellent cooked breakfast.

Noise from other guests coming in late and showering in the middle of the night. Not really the Hotel’s fault but a disturbed night’s sleep none the less.

This was our second stay here, and once again everything was excellent. The cleanliness is exemplary, everything smells fresh and pleasant, and the towels, bed linen and rooms are beautifully presented and arranged with great attention to detail. The location is excellent and the whole stay was genuinely enjoyable. Breakfast was also excellent. A special mention to the owners’ young sons who helped serve breakfast during our stay – despite being so young, they were extremely polite, well-mannered and impressively professional. It was lovely to see. We enjoyed our stay very much and will happily recommend this property to others. We will definitely return.

Gordon’s is in a great location, close to many places of interest such as Jacob’s Ladder, the museum, and plenty of restaurants. The room was exceptionally clean and very quiet. At breakfast, the young man who served us was very polite, although I didn’t catch his name. The woman who also served us was equally friendly and helpful. The host was very informative and gave us some great recommendations for the best places to eat in the area. Overall, we had a very pleasant stay.

We liked everything about Gordons hotel. The hotel location was perfect. The owners and staff were extremely polite and helpful. Our room was clean and tidy, spacious and comfortable. Breakfast was lovely, we both enjoyed a full English breakfast with tea and orange. The hotel also has the added bonus of a heated pool which was a delight that me and my wife fully enjoyed to.

As the weather was so hot we would of liked to use pool earlier than the 9am it opened

We actually booked Gordons as we were looking for somewhere to stay relatively close to Bristol as we were going to be going to the Bristol Hot Air Balloon Fiesta. It was excellent for getting to and from Bristol but turned out to be so much more. The welcome was lovely and helpful by all members of staff. The location was perfect for easy walking access to Cheddar town and the Cheddar Gorge. The big bonus was the outdoor swimming pool which was very welcome in yet another heatwave (August 2026). Breakfast was very good, parking on site for most of the guests. If you were late in you can park over the road in a pay and display which is free overnight and cheap during the day. Great service and a great location. Thank you looking after us!

Walls were a bit thin and so we could here voices and bathrooms being used next door as well as below us. The location of the hotel was excellent for Cheddar itself but it was plagued by the loud noise of motorbikes, almost continuously.

Beautiful decorated, clean, great facilities. Swimming pool a great bonus for the hot summer day.

Beautiful accommodation, the place was spotlessly clean, as was the swimming pool. Beds were comfortable. The staff were very friendly and chatty. Couldn't fault any of it.

I liked it all

The room was lovely, spacious, and clean. The location is perfect. The breakfast is decent. The people working there are so friendly. Fabulous stay and would recommend to anyone.

The shower lacked pressure, but that isn't a total negative because saving water is eco-friendly. The fan in the room was very dusty and could have done with a clean as it blew dust across the room.

Everything was perfect! Hosts were so welcoming and friendly! Everywhere was spotlessly clean! Pool was great, nice to have a relax and cool down after day out, gardens are beautiful, well maintained and a joy to sit in. Breakfast was superb! Overnight oats - wow! Cooked breakfast great with perfectly poached egg each morning! The care and details that goes into making sure you have an amazing stay is exceptional! Hope to visit again soon - location is brilliant!

Familien geführtes B&B. Sehr nette Vermieter auch mit vielen Tipps. War für uns nur eine Zwischenübernachtung. War aber der Lage in Cheddar geschuldet, nicht günstig. Aber super Frühstück, frisch angerichtet. Daher auch vorherige Angaben, wann man frühstücken möchte, macht das Ehepaar selbst und möchte die Gäste nicht warten lassen. Ist kein Inn mit Pub, man hat aber gegenüber eine Möglichkeit zum Abendessen und Pub.

Parkplätze eng bemessen. Wir hatten Glück. Gut renoviertes, aber altes Haus mit lauten Dielen. Sonst alles Super.

There is a great pool area, which we used for a dip because the weather was so nice. The breakfast was excellent and the staff were really polite and attentive. Would definitely recommend.

The location was perfect and being able to park was an added bonus. Rory was so welcoming and Alex at breakfast was really attentive. Breakfast was a perfect set up for the day! Our room was ideal for our two night stay and perfectly equipped and laid out. We were so lucky with the weather that we were also able to make use of the lovely outdoor pool

The B & B was beautiful, comfortable and well thought out. We had a lovely room and the breakfast was great. Unfortunately the weather for us wasn't great, but had it been, the pool area looked really nice. we would definitely recommend this B&B. Excellent location to the gorge as well

Welcoming hosts, very happy to share local knowledge for eateries and directions. Fabulously clean and freshly presented decor. Stayed in room 6 which was very modern looking, room looked newly done with all modern fixtures and fittings, lovely big bathroom with super shower and spotless . Friendly and super polite young waiters at breakfast.

Mattress was too firm for us, especially after lots of walking and achy bones, didn’t sleep too well.

Our host was wonderful, the breakfast was superb, and the location was fantastic. Easiest parking we had on our entire 2-week trip (no narrow alley to potentially bang your mirrors or scrape your doors!)

We were warmly welcomed on arrival. Our room was beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean as was the whole hotel. I really liked the little pictures & plaques that were dotted around the hallways - they added to the feeling of being welcome. We had a small fridge in our room, which was stocked with water & fresh milk (to use with tea/coffee in the room.
