Comfortable beds, nice grounds, amazing bakery, good morning coffee, quality restaurant on site. For the bargain rate that we paid, we were assigned a room in the "Country Motor Lodge", which is a basic two story motel, tucked up behind the more historic buildings. The rooms are spacious; bathroom is small. Pleasant staff.

Our room had an unpleasant smell - perhaps from cleaning products? Reminded me of an off-gassing chemical odor. Fortunately it was warm enough to open the sliding door to allow fresh air in, although this meant listening to constant highway noise. It was disappointing to find the balcony in such an unmaintained condition; the outdoor carpeting was dirty and the partition walls were peeling paint. Also fyi, we had to kneel on the floor to use the refrigerator.

We have such a fun time with family and we will definitely be back. Thank you for making our time together so special

We understood that we were booked at the Inn not the Motor Lodge. Not good! Disappointed not to be able to enjoy one of your delicious Breakfast as in our past visits. The bed was next to a very noisy heating cooling unit, and the room looked old and warn. It needs to be cleaned and redecorated.

The room in the motor lodge was quite nice with a sliding glass door that opened onto a small terrace facing the woods.

I made a reservation three months prior, yet I was placed in likely the worst room in the hotel. It sat abovet the kitchen wtih the kitchen fans running. Very loud and noisy. I asked to move and then was given the room in the motor lodge--which is where I should have been placed. Room #12 should not be occupied at all when the kitchen fans are running. Additionally, when I entered the room every light was on. And the AC was set to about 60 deg. F. Particularly in an era of global warming, energy should be conserved, not squandered.

The historic piece. We stayed in the motel type rooms which was dated, but lean and comfortable. The pub was convenient and food was ok. The bakery lady and the complimentary coffee and pastry were lovely. And, the gardens were fantastic!!

Loved the property. The Inn was beautiful, grounds beautiful.

The lodge was a far cry from the quality of the actual Inn. The Tavern and Tap room were too busy to even enjoy the facilities dining. We should have been told to make reservations upon arrival or prior too, and it was a Tuesday, We’d, Thurs stay.

I would have opted not to be directly above the wedding reception especially for the price of the room. The noise, though it ended promptly at 11:00, made it impossible to go to sleep early after a long drive. Other than that my room was perfect, no complaints.

This place is convenient to the Brimfield Flea Markets and the attractions in Sturbridge

The Country Motor Lodge is more than 60 years old and it feels like it. To say it needs updating, fixing and a deep cleaning is an understatement. It’s honestly a little gross.

Staff was friendly and helpful. The room was very spacious, well equipped, clean and the beds are very comfortable. Extremely quaint, decor keeping the Old English style, but with all the modern day coveniences and perfectly maintained. The patio, looking into the forest, was a pleasant surprise. The Bake Shoppe provides wonderful takeaway cooked meals, if you don't want to make use of the restauarnts on the premises.

The bathroom is a little snug, door doesn't pass too far from the toilet, so you need to step aside to open and close the door and get to the shower.

The room was large and comfortable, and a great value. We also enjoyed the pastries and coffee/tea in the morning. What a great bakery.

Breakfast pastries were fantastic. One of the best pecan/cinnamon rolls I have ever eaten. Price was also remarkably reasonable. Rooms were very large with very attractive grounds adjacent.

The upper building rooms were a bit dark and dated, however clean and all functioned as needed.

We loved the balcony facing the woods. The room was spacious and inviting.

Finding the office to check in took awhile. The Publick House is a campus of roads and buildings, with at least two entrances, and only one sign about where to check in pointing in the general direction of the office. If you come in the wrong entrance you can't get to the office to check in.

The pool is small but clean. The morning pastries were exceptional.

Checkin experience was wonderful, we were asked if we could do stairs (which we can) and that was thoughtful. The room was spacious and comfortable with its own little balcony. Campus is impressive.

The bathroom was showing its age and the back of the sink (where you wouldn't normally see) wasn't clean. Everything else was nice and clean except that.

Our room was right above one of the function rooms. As a result there was a lot of noise late into Sunday evening and amazingy again starting at about 7:30 am on Monday morning. There was no sound attenuation at all between our room and the room below us. We understand, the inn is very old, but were surprised by how loud those groups were.

Room was spacious (guessing room size depends on which building you will be in). Clean although furniture is a bit dated. I enjoyed that there was a mini fridge to use (great to have on hot summer days). A coffee maker with free coffee and tea packages available. Also there was a microwave in my room. Free ice offered in certain buildings (available to all guests of the Inn). Free breakfast at the Bake Shoppe includes pastries (can ask for seconds, but few people do) and coffee/tea, but nothing else. ;0)

The Ebenezer Restaurant was delightful, and the food was delicious! Nathan served us at the bar both for lunch and dinner and added to a great dining experience!

That Old Sturbridge Village and other historic Attractions were closed till Wendesday/Thursday during August.

Very pretty, and historical. Grounds were very well kept.

I had the room fire above the pub and a staircase was directly behind the bed. I heard people all night at the restaurant and walking up and down the staircase.

The motor lodge rooms are larger and quieter than modern motel chain rooms. Beds were comfortable and they take pets. The grounds are beautiful and well maintained, and the staff were thoroughly professional.

Check in was confusing. While there is a sign at the entrance drive on where find the hotel desk, there are no direction signs on the building for the main desk when you drive up, no non-handicapped parking available for checking in, and vehicular circulation around the campus is confusing. There was no simple way to the main desk from the rear parking lot as well. The breakfast could have offered something more than pastries and coffee and there was little mention of it in any of their room handbooks or the sheet of paper they gave me when I checked in. I had to google it. The furniture in the room was worn but adequate. The advertised price was not the final price.

The staff was very friendly, helpful, and accommodating. The salt water pool was very nice and clean. Rooms were very clean and had no need to ask for anything extra. The restaurant was very quiet and intimate. The service there was excellent.

No hand-hold in shower stall, no hook for towel near shower door (door blocked shower rack). But shower itself was GREAT! Breakfast ... could've included a ham-n-cheese croissant, not just sweet rolls (but rolls were DELISH!).

The property is beautiful, peaceful & the cafe was a nice surprise. All staff I encountered were warm & welcoming.

Mattress & washroom were dated but it was expected in such a historic site. Overall still very comfortable & I will return again.

The bed was super comfortable and the room had everything I needed for my stay. It’s in a very quiet location in a very pretty area. Lots of character in the main hotel and lovely area to walk a dog.

The man at the check-in counter did not want to engage in any conversation as we were showing our excitement in finding this place. A sign by the heating/cooling unit stating that it was run by a box on the wall would have been helpful. We didn't find it until the next morning,and we were quite frozen when we crawled into bed.

The bakery breakfast was actually excellent! But wish we had the option of a regular breakfast with eggs and such. But the bakery was super good

I mean there were some very minor aesthetic issues like chipping paint and a little rust on radiators but it was very clean and comfortable. So not a 10/10 for luxury but I’m extremely picky about cleanliness and it was CLEAN! Good shower. And the bed was comfortable. So I would absolutely stay here again. And would recommend.
