Everything was old and need to replaced The linen and towels were old and all need to be upgraded The outside furniture was rusted and the table was falling apart with only 2 pillows for the chairs even though we were 3 people staying The cutlery was mismatched and some not even available 1steak knife 1 wine glass The microwave was so small we couldn't even warm up a dinner plate Also dont advertise that unit comes with Tumble dryer ans washing machine but they both locked and cannot be used I requested a change of linen ans towels and they washed the same linen and towels no replacement I was extremely disappointed as the images of the unit were AI and did not match the actual unit Also no lights in 2nd room only bedside lamp which room does not have a light No side lamps in main room only plug in lamp attached the the headboard I will not book this unit again

Breathtaking ocean views and perfect beach access!"we had an incredible stay at Chaka's Cove. Our apartment was clean, modern, and beautifully set up for a self-catering family holiday. The highlight was definitely the balcony views and being just a stone's throw away from the tidal pools. The complex felt safe with the security on site, and it was an easy walk to local cafes. One of the most beautiful holiday apartments you could ever find. We had an absolutely amazing time at Chaka's Cove, and what truly set this holiday apart was the outstanding hospitality. From the moment we arrived, we felt incredibly welcomed and well looked after. The service was warm, attentive, and went far beyond our expectations. We loved every bits of it!!! We will definitely be back!!!

The best was the view and the place was clean. The shower water temperature and water pressure was very good! That was really ideal!

The parking for the unit 97 was extremely isolated and far from the actual unit, the incline to get into the property was too high for a sporty roadster which is what I was driving. So I paid for 5 nights and moved out after 3 as my car was getting damaged driving in and out of the property, which I raised directly with the team on the morning after I checked in, but they said they couldn't do anything for me. Hi Hilton, Just responding based on your comments that you offered my alternative accommodation, which is not quite factual. Your response when i raised my issues on parking etc with you was that i should try some of the other parking bays, which were all allocated to other units, so i could not use those or i could park where there is no cover for my vehicle, and that you stayed 300kms away. Once i had made alternative accommodation and advised that i was checking out 2 days early, did you then advise that you Would have offered me another unit, this was the first and only time you offered me alternative accommodation when i had already paid to stay elsewhere. I dont see my initial review as bad, i was honest in terms of my concerns and also honest in terms of the lovely view from the apartment, the shower etc.

From the moment we booked at the end of June until we arrived and checked in, the host maintained excellent communication. They kept us informed every step of the way, responded promptly to messages, and made us feel welcome long before we arrived. The apartment was spotless, spacious, beautifully maintained, and exactly as advertised. The location right by the beach was perfect, making our family getaway even more special. It truly felt like a home away from home. The host was exceptional,kind, professional, and genuinely caring. After hearing about the ordeal we experienced at our previous accommodation, they went above and beyond for us.That level of compassion and customer service is rare and deeply appreciated. Thank you for turning what started as a stressful weekend into such a memorable and relaxing one. We made beautiful memories with our family, and we can't wait to come back. Linen, beds, curtains do not block out. The furniture was bulky and not shown in the pictures on the website. Doors squeeked. The oven didn't work. Old and tired fittings. Terrible seating on the balcony. Fridge old and damaged.

The apartment was clean, in a really good location and had most of the basics one needs for a stay.

We couldn't find a rubbish bin, but that was a small inconvenience and wouldn't prevent us from booking again.

The communication leading up to our arrival was fantastic and very informative. We requested an early check in from the host due to family commitments and this was arranged with no problem. The view from our balcony was great.

The location and view is amazing. Hilton and Mariaan who is managing the unit is very professional and do a very good job.

The property needs some upgrades and deep cleaning. The mattress in the main bedroom needs to be replaced; we had back pain every morning. The kitchen needs upgrading and can be better equipment. The peeler brake with every try, because it is exceptionally bad quality. No oven dishes to make food in the oven. The stove is rusted and gave the worst smell every time it is used. Towels can be upgraded, I have a very tall husband, that towels looks like a handtowel when he uses them🙂 The kitchen table needs a proper clean, as old dirt lies between the cracks. Floors and skirtings need a proper scrub. Old dirt are accumulating because it is just lightly mopped every time. The broom that is rusted and looks terrible can really be replaced. It is not expensive. I was under the impression that there was a dishwasher. Just make sure that advertisements are clear. Bathroom mirrors with visible rust is really terrible, it makes us as guests feel that this place is not taken care off, and that guests should be ok with sub standard furnishings. Carpet in the living space needs a proper cleaning, on day one when I swept old dirt came out. Couches and pillows also. I think what should be kept in mind here is that when someone pays for a holiday home, we do not want to feel, "wow, they really tried to give the bare minimum"; we would rather say, "wow, they thought of everything and made the stay extra comfortable and enjoyable." All the above mentioned is to help you, it is not criticism.

The location was perfect, the was was very kind and helpful with our checking in process and overall stay.

The apartment did not have any coffee, teas ,or water for the guest. It would be nice if they could just have small sachets of coffe or tea and other basics like salt and pepper.

Very very bad. Dirty. Ehen we got there, there was a dirty wet hand towel spread on the kitchen counter. The place was so smelly. We had to use room spray to try and grt the smell out. We had to go and clean the place just to feel a bit comfortable. Toilet was dirty. Filth around the rim of the pan. Pillow in the second bedroom stained and smelly. Bed broken. The pics that are shown when booing the unit is very deceiving. They show pics of thr units in 43 Ocean drive. Even the address thats on the booking of unit 85 states 43 Ocean drive but when we got there it was on 12 main road. They unit is very small compared to the pics. The pics show that its in the seaside but its not. Its on the next road so .. what u see and hear is traffic.. trees blocking the little view of the sea. They expect u to pay R395 for cleaning service which only entails sweeping, mopping and washing dishes. The appliances were so dirty, we had to clean it. Inside the kettle was so dirty. They dont change towels or bedding. So we stayed for 3 nights, they said u only get 2 toilet rolls. Thereafter, buy ur own. They leave so little sunlight liquid, Thereafter buy your own. When we complained everyday about the condition of the unit and that they advertised for the unit on Ocean drive but in actual fact we didnt get what we paid for.. they kept saying that they will sort it out but never did anything about it. The water was so dirty because they doing maintenence. At ine stage they even stopped the water. The pool was not clean. We had to use the pool at another estate. What u book for is not what u get. Very very very bad.

- mattresses on beds weren't comfortable - basic shower soap was not provided - wifi was slow multiple times and little to no assistance was provided by the managing agency - ants were present underneath sofa - debris were present underneath sofas upon movement to eradicate ants -mixture of glass sizes rather then same set -muitlple stowages and appliances were locked making one feel unwelcome - no salt & pepper provided - coffee and sugar not provided

The place was clean and a great location. Hilton and Marianna were super helpful and provided me with loads of information before I arrived.

The only drawback was no chairs on the balcony to sit on, but that was a minor thing. We were able to use bar stools, just not as comfortable. Would still stay there again.

We had an amazing weekend stay with the family at Chaka's Cove in Ballito, Durban. The location is absolutely perfect — right by the beach with breathtaking ocean views and easy access to nearby attractions. The apartment was clean, comfortable, and well-equipped, making it ideal for a relaxing family getaway. The short walk to the beach, while we enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere and beautiful sunrise views every morning. The staff and hosts were friendly, helpful, and made check-in very smooth. If you’re looking for a family-friendly holiday spot on the North Coast, I would definitely recommend Chaka's Cove. We created beautiful memories there and can’t wait to visit again

The location is ideal, right above the beach. The unit we stayed in was ground floor which was nice with children.

The apartment was filthy. The apartment is not to the standard of the photos and reviews on Booking.com It is in serious need of a deep clean. I saw on the roster they had tenants for over a month. I assume only surface cleaning was done between each visitor. The house is infested with tiny red ants, the bathrooms have mildew on the walls and mould in the silicone around the bath. The couches are filthy and overused. The door handles hadnt been cleaned. The rug is dirty. No care was taken to check the grass outside, I had to pick up plastic and cigarette butts. To name a few. We are very unhappy with the standard in which we received the apartment. Especially at the price charged. We decided to leave after the first night due to the unpleasant stay. Unfortunately the owner has now blocked me on whatsapp after making him aware of the condition of the apartment and asking for a refund.

Everything, from the unclean sheets and bedding to the smell as you enter the property, hard beds couldn't even sleep, we had to put our blankets down on sofas and beds because it was all so dirty, for the price charged it was ludicrous,

We had a lovely stay overall. The views are absolutely stunning and the location is fantastic... really well situated and easy to get around. The open-plan entertainment area is a highlight, making it a great space to relax and spend time together. The bathrooms are quite small, but still perfectly functional. We were a bit disappointed that the washing machine and tumble dryer shown in the photos were locked and not available for use... it seems they may be intended for housekeeping only. That said, the check-in and check-out instructions were clear and easy to follow, which made everything seamless. Communication with the owner was also excellent... we had an issue with the dishwasher, but after sending a quick message, it was sorted out promptly. The property could do with a bit of a refresh and some minor maintenance, like a fresh coat of paint, to bring it back to the standard shown in the photos. Overall, a great stay with a few small areas for improvement.

Close proximity to the beach, albeit a very steep incline to get there. It was a lovely place, beds were comfortable, aircon is a fantastic benefit.

We had stayed in this complex the year before and were happy with its overall location, views over the sea and sunrise, pool, etc. but we stayed in another flat and expected a similar experience. The good thing about this one is it has 3 rooms.

The flat is a bit run down and unfortunately the air-conditioning was not working properly in one of the rooms, mostly blowing hot air despite us trying to modify the mode etc. and the other 2 rooms also get very hot during the day as we had to keep the windows closed due to monkeys, but the air-conditioning is not able to properly cool the rooms down at night.

The unit was well appointed with all the things one could want. It was well situated, easy to get to and central for access to the beach. Great views. We had a lovely time. The hosts were accessible and made everything easy for us.
