Clean. Comfy beds. Nice host. Quiet location close to Mahone Bay and Lunenburg for day trips.

Would have enjoyed a few more breakfast items.

Friendly, welcoming hosts. Made us feel at home immediately and welcomed us like family and friends. Highly recommend for comfort, location & relaxing experience. Great location, not too far off 2 major roads, easy access into Mahone bay. Hosts very knowledgeable and informative about the area and what to see. Highly recommended for visiting South shore area. Nothing not to like.

Our stay at this beautifully, renovated farmhouse was exceptional. Located just off the main road, it offered a serene atmosphere. The spacious room was impeccable and comfortable , with a large, roomy bathroom. The grounds were beautifully maintained, showcasing a high level of attention to detail. The peaceful location allowed for a restful night’s sleep, and the fresh air from the windows was a lovely bonus. Each morning, a delicious breakfast featuring fresh coffee, granola, and yogurt was provided. The property’s proximity to Lunenburg and Mahone Bay made it an ideal base. A short walk took us to the river, where chairs and a dock offered scenic views. Our hosts, Frauke and Mike, were helpful, friendly and made our stay enjoyable. Charlie, their dog, was a friendly and charming companion. Frauke’s recommendations for local restaurants and dining spots were extremely helpful. We highly recommend this farmhouse if you are visiting Nova Scotia’s beautiful south shore

Perfect as is

The property was secluded and beautiful. Our room was clean, comfy and had everything we needed. Our host was friendly and helpful.

Everything was so wonderful, the only minor issue was we could hear other guests but it didn’t detract from our stay.

We loved our stay in this wonderful lodge on a beautiful rural property, conveniently close to Mahone Bay. Very friendly, helpful host, and comfortable nicely decorated rooms. We highly recommend and would love to return one day.

Nothing to improve.

Frauke was the perfect host. Excellent guide to the area and extremely welcoming. The room was well equipped, quiet, and had an enormous bed! Even though, formally, breakfast isn’t served there is fresh coffee, yoghurt and granola. Mahone Bay is beautiful, with its iconic churches. We had very good meals at Rebecca’s and the Naked Oyster.

It was a quiet, calming place. The owners were friendly, accommodating and informative of all there is to do in the area.

Nothing it was perfect.

The location is really nice - lovely property in a quiet neighborhood. This is probably the most beautiful area in Nova Scotia. The room was clean with modern and functional furniture (Scandinavian IKEA style) and the mattress by IKEA was comfortable... everything looked really promising...

... however Despite the fact that the property is in a very quiet neighborhood and that bed was really comfy we spent tree sleepless nights here (we booked/paid for four nights but decided to leave the last night for a place where we could catch up on our sleep before a long road trip ahead). Our room - Room #1 - was located on the ground floor: next to main entrance and a staircase, across the dining area, and bellow two other rooms the space that is usually reserved for living room. At all times you could hear people walking up and down, around the rooms, and showering and flushing toilet. The hosts seem to be well aware of this fact since they asked us "was it noisy?" - to our "yes, indeed it was really noisy and impossible to sleep", the answer was "it is an old house and this is our cheapest room "... while we do understand that the house is old and that it cannot be sound proofed as modern can (we travelled all over the Maritimes and also New England) and we stayed in many old and heritage houses, and never experiences this kind of noise... that is most likely why this part of the house is usually a living area - next to the entrance, staircase, and dining room and below other rooms. However, in this case it was turned into a room. So, it might be that this area - in this case Room #1 - should simply not be rented at all. In addition we did not book a "cheep" room - the price was similar to the other ones, certainly not a bargain - and we anyway were not going for "cheap" but a nice room in one of the most beautiful areas of Nova Scotia. The host did apologized for the noise, with a note and a little basket of goodies - which was kind and we really appreciated - but the fact is that this room #1 is not suitable for renting since it does not provide the basic thing this kind of B&B should provide: restful stay and a good night sleep.

Very pretty site with a barn and access to the river.

We had a lovely stay at the lodge. The room and grounds are splendid. Our Hosts we very helpful, and they provided us with great tips for where to go and what to do in the area. It is a peaceful place. We will recommend it to our friends and family

Beautiful! Comfortable, welcoming. The hosts are so kind and caring. I felt like I was at the home of a relative. I can’t wait to come here again.

Breakfast was traditional German and the host told us a lot about local places to visit and had great trail maps! The bed was comfortable and once settled in we were 'at home'. They lent us bikes and equipment and it was super. Very nice area to explore by bike.

Check in had to be very specified. It could have been better to have a self' check in ' experience rather than trying to know details of timing or how much toast we might eat. It would have been nice to have access to drinks at home or a bathtub.

Frauke and Michael were both very accommodating, and gave me all the privacy I needed. It was a very pleasant experience and I would highly recommend them to others.

We chose this B&B specifically for its location in the countryside just outside quaint Mahone Bay and a short drive to beautiful UNESCO Lunenberg. We had a wonderful spacious room and bathroom with all the required amenities and facilities.The mattress pillows and bed linen importantly were of quality We were impressed that we were able to check in on line and even place our breakfast requests - well done this is a first for us. Fauke was very accommodating when we informed her VIA Rail Canada 'The Ocean' from Quebec City to Halifax was over fours late and we would not arrive until just before midnight and gave us instructions on our to enter our room at such a late time.That is service beyond the call of duty The breakfasts were great - fruits muesli yoghurt cheese and sourdough bread We would have preferred to stay three rather than two nights but Fauke was already fully booked ahead

It’s a stunning property right across the river. Just minutes from the main road. made me want to buy a house there.

Convenient location for many of the places we wanted to visit. Very quiet and peaceful place to stay after a busy day.

Frauke and her husband are super friendly hosts. She provided us with lots of information about the area, she has ideas for day trips prepared and printed out and offered all kinds of help so we would have a pleasant stay. Our room, which obviously was the largest, was spacious and well equipped. It’s the perfect place to stay and discover the Lunenburg area

Love this lodge, great hospitality, quiet beautiful surroundings,very clean.

We liked the quiet and the privacy of the property. Salt water was close. Hostess was friendly and informative of the area. We thought the price was high, especially as it did not include breakfast. However, coffee and wafer were free and timely in the morning.

The accommodations were excellent. Very clean and wonderfully decorated. The staff were like coming home to family. Such wonderful inviting people. I strongly recommend this place to everyone

Beautiful renovated farmhouse just outside of Mahone Bay. Front porch overlooks the river. Spacious rooms. Wonderful hosts and a great get away for singles, couples or families. The family suite is perfect when travelling with kids with two bedrooms and attached bathroom - something that is rare to find at a B&B.
