Signatures bar and grill was over an hr wait for food tonight and the fish was so awful and cold fries and the nachos where awful...and the people behind us waiting on there food and we waited an hr and they waited like 1hr more I never waited that long there before .I just hope I don't get sick 🤢 tonight from the food...The casino is a joke anymore u can't win and if u do it's very little ...and u can't even hear the music at all...sorry to say this place has went down hill ....so sad it used to be a fun place to go not anymore 😔
My wife and I had a great time at the resort! Room was very clean and bed was very comfortable. The sandwiches in the restaurant were very good. All the employees we encountered were very friendly and helpful. Look forward to visiting again.
Spending hundreds of dollars on a room, and even more at the casino and not being able to get a drink in a reasonable amount of time is a joke. If you expect people to sit there and gamble their money away, the bare minimum is having a bartender at the bar at all times. Waiting 15 minutes just to get a drink is unacceptable and frankly a disgrace for a casino. You’re happy to take my money, but can’t staff the bar properly? Do better.
Before this casino was bought up by Century, I faired pretty well. In the first half of 2025, and years prior, I took in many, many 800.00 payouts from the Keno machines. And a total of 11,416.00 in reportable winnings during the first half of 2025. Century bought it up, and SNAP, machines have been tight tight tight. They simply take take take. I'm a local, so I'm there often enough to walk around the casino most nights, just people watching. I like to see people win. But no one leaves that place happy. anymore. And for good reason. No one wins anymore. They all regret going there. Some leave absolutely angry, because an experienced player knows what they've been subjected to, and that they're the ones who have been played. One example of my recent experiences with Century (Rocky Gap Casino) is that I lost 300.00 just trying to hit a 2 spot on Keno. The odds of hitting a 2 spot in Keno are 1:15. I spent 300.00 at a rate of 25 cents per play. That's 1200 plays for 25 cents, without hitting a 2 spot one time. Let that sink in a minute. I know that it's gambling, and the odds are against you. But the odds also predict you will win at least a little, occasionally. I suppose they will eventually have only tourists going, as the locals, well we know exactly what they're about. I could go on about some shady things with the so called "drawings" they have on a regular basis, and why they are very suspect of some shady business, by myself, as well as others. But I won't, as I can't prove it. Who the heck could? My advice...search up a casino not owned by Century, go there, have a much better time. And maybe win a little money in the process. Good luck, and peace to all. One final note. The playing floor is clean, and well represented by the staff, who do a wonderful job. I have no experience of the hotel portion of the casino. Nice lake though.
Usually, when I travel, I read the worst reviews and best reviews about the property. I’m in the hospitality industry myself so I understand how important reviews can be for a property. I have to say that our experience here was exceptional. I was traveling with my 90 and 91 year-old parents And everybody was extremely helpful. We were greeted with a smile and all of our request for a table close to the front door and a room close to the elevator were honored I own a restaurant and a large bed-and-breakfast. I have to say that the food exceeded my expectations after reading some of the reviews everything was hot and generous portions and quite tasty we had dinner and breakfast and their restaurant. The rooms were very comfortable and clean and well appointed the front desk. Staff were top notch a special thank you to Lisa. Both of our servers in the restaurant were exceptional. I will definitely return in the summer.!
Yikes. We have stayed many times. Sadly the property has gone from 3 stars to 2. Maybe worse - but overall these may be one-offs. The safe in room didn't work. Security said it was an old "beige" model & they couldn't fix. Toilet overflowed 2x. Housekeeping says any rooms above 3rd floor are gravity drains...very common. Crew ready within minutes with carpet cleaners for room & hallway...clearly not first rodeo & yuck...habitual dirty water :( But: between our bed sheets there was a single worn tennis sock. OMG. Sleeping on top of blankets now! (Asked for towels to replace the ones we used for toilet overflow. Washcloth had two marks of lipstick. Ewww.) We imagined housekeeping would have caught that but geesh. What had really transpired here? NOT. GOOD.
Having had a wonderful camping experience in the adjacent campground on our way westward, we decided upon our return to experience the "luxury" of the park's Casino, Resort, and Golf facility. We neither golf nor gamble, but a night in a "resort" lodge seemed attractive after weeks of winter camping. Not! The welcome at the desk was fine. We asked for a quiet room with a view of the lake; the assigned room had that and more. And less. Everything went downhill from there. We were surprised that there was a fridge, but no microwave. That drove us to the lounge and dining room, which were pleasantly staffed and quiet, though offerings were not "resort" quality. We decided to try the pool and hot tub. They were nice enough, though the hot tub is designed to have only soft bubbles rather than the usual "jets." Returning to our "resort" room, we tried to catch up on emails, but the wifi was very poor and kept dropping off. In the morning we discovered that the coffee maker was missing an essential part. We tried to call down to request a replacement, but the phone didn't work either. Upon checkout in the morning, we reported the broken coffee machine, etc. and were told we should have come down to the desk (in our PJs I suppose). We noticed a "resort fee" on the bill. We were told that it covered "amenities" like shampoo and lotion (!) and wifi (which didn't work). We asked about a microwave and were told the "better rooms" had them. This was the first mention of "better rooms." Perhaps gamblers and golfers would rate this facility higher. Resort seekers like us would be disappointed.
This place is gross. I reserved a lake view suite. The view was beautiful but the windows were filthy. The sink filled with water before draining, the lighting was poor, a lamp was broken, and we were chasing ladybugs on the walls. The furniture is old. The entire place needs a renovation. Our room was not cleaned. I was told later that I should have requested daily cleaning at check-in! Covid precautions ended four years ago. That’s what I pay for - daily cleaning! I want the bed made, bathroom cleaned, and fresh towels. It didn’t happen. If you want to spend the day in the “revitalized” downtown Cumberland area, forget it. Shops are boarded up and the few remaining are classified as “collectibles”. In other words, junk. No tourists, and the people walking the streets are sketchy. Overall, not a good weekend experience. Disappointing.
This is the 4th or 5th stay at Rocky Gap. As always we had a wonderful time. Finally made the right weekend to get fall color. Of course this year has not been an exceptional year for color but it was very beautiful. We took the Western Maryland Railroad up to Frostburg and was able to get some wonderful fall foliage pictures. Staff at Rocky Gap were great, our host Thaddeus was exceptional along with my favorite waiter Robby. Made the best drinks and always had a smile. Will be back.
Parking is horrible for hotel guests. There's no dedicated parking for paid guests. It's shared with golfers and casino visitors. You may have to carry your luggage for quite a distance. Our room was spacious, but the amenities were minimal. Shampoo, and body wash wash there but not enough for two people for a day. The tissue box had approximately 10 tissues in the box. The toilet paper roll was almost empty when we arrived. In addition, there were unknown extra fees upon check-in. We will never stay here again.
Rooms were clean and well furnished with everything we needed. The hallway was surprisingly quiet considering the number of guests.
Wonderful views
Upon arrival, I was walking in with two small kids and my elderly mother while carrying all our bags from the parking lot. There was no bellhop or staff at the door to help, which was disappointing. When I checked in, our room wasn’t ready, so we had to sit in the lobby surrounded by our luggage. The only open restaurant was on the opposite side of the resort, but we couldn’t leave our bags unattended. I was told to check back every 30 minutes to see if our room was ready, even though we were sitting right in front of the front desk. It would’ve been much better customer service if the staff had checked for us. Once the room was finally ready, we dropped our things off and went to get food for the kids. After walking across the property, we were seated but waited about 8 minutes before anyone came by. When I asked for something quick like a hot dog, I was told it would take 25 minutes—too long since we had to meet someone—so we left. It’s clear this resort is designed more for adults and casino guests than for families. There’s no room service, limited restaurant hours, and a lot of walking just to find food. The next morning, the breakfast restaurant was already closed, so we ended up buying fruit cups from the front lobby—something you’d expect at a basic hotel, not a resort. If you’re visiting to gamble for a night, it’s clean and fine. But for families, it’s not kid-friendly and difficult to navigate.
Good room. I was there for 2 nights over a weekend. Room was very clean and comfortable. Lake view was worth it. The casino was fun and the grounds are nice for walking around. I don’t play golf but people seemed to like that too. Dinner in the restaurant was delicious. My only complaint is breakfast was awful. They couldn’t make scrambled eggs or real potatoes. Coffee was also terrible. I will stay again but probably drive somewhere else for breakfast.
Beautiful area. If you're not into gambling (especially at night), it would be great if other options were available. I did appreciate the live entertainment, which would be incredible if they expanded on that feature.
Restaurant food was not good
The pool was open to 11 for us late people, staff was friendly
It is a nice resort especially if you like golf, nature and gambling.
Wonderful resort
My sister and I was traveling and we needed a hotel room to stop at on the first leg of our trip. My made the reservation around 7pm for a 10pm check in after a three hour drive. We were able to check in with no problem.
Room very nice
The staff was friendly and accommodating. There was a computer issue with our breakfast and the manager took money off our bill. She also gave my sister a " it's my birthday pin". Our only issue was a noisy air conditioner but we didn't report it since we were only there for 2 days and it was manageable.
Lovely facility… ever single employee we encountered was friendly and professional.
The walls were to thin. You can hear everything next door. The views are beautiful.
Room size cleanliness. Every service person was so friendly and helpful.
Friendly staff
The restaurant was horrible food was cold bad service go to the bar and eat food was good and hot and great entertainment
The main restaurant was closed while we were there which was unfortunate. The property was beautiful.
Simple nature and a beautiful surrounding with plenty to keep a weekend full or relaxed. Great quick getaway. Beauty and nature walk in the hills and around the lake were perfect.
Friendly staff, great restaurant, and very clean! Wish the paddle boats would have been open
Front desk staff was excellent. Room was clean and quiet with a wonderful view.
Beautiful property with a lot to do!!
Loved the golf and all the fire pits and all the seating near the lake. Only complaint was most all the machines in the casino we're older and barely any I liked to play. But that's a personal preference.
Asked for Lakeview. Scaffolding on roof with all tool bags. Had to leave drapes all the time because workers on roof were looking in our room. Told concierge and he just flipped me off. Food on menu in bar was it available and what we ordered was terrible and it took one half hour to receive.
Beautiful area and walkable around the lake.
Staff were rude. Food was awful The area was beautiful
We didn't go outside and use the facilities
This resort did not disappoint. The room was clean and comfortable with a killer view of the lake (6th floor). One observation, they could use more staff. Dining room was slow as was the Lakeside Grill bar. Staff was pleasant but definitely short. Shout out to Jack who helped with our luggage and answered any question we had. An outstanding employee with exceptional customer service skills.
It was fun and relaxing. Beautiful views
Traveled to meet the girls for a birthday trip. Casino is smaller than I expected, no free drinks when gambling like other casinos so spent twice as much money and the smoking section was extremely hot, couldn't even stand to be in there long enough to play slots.
I didn't like not having more activities outside of golf and the casino.
All the staff was very friendly. Table games had $5 games for most of the time we were there so that was nice. Resort wasn't too big as to get lost. 2 sit down restaurants but we only ate at Signatures. Views were amazing overlooking the lake. Outside fire pits were nice as it was a little chilly a few times. Golf course was in pretty good shape other than the greens were a little rough.
Great help with luggage and friendly service. We liked the seating and quick meal in the lobby. It would be nice to have a free breakfast bar.
Good place to relax
Great place to stay.
Love Rocky Gap!!
Clean room, several eating options, beautiful scenery.
Great getaway very scenic right on the river and mountain trees very nice place to visit
Great room. Food was ok
Great time at Rocky Gap! My wife and I wanted a retreat and was an excellent place to get away for a few days. We did not golf or go to the casino however the facility and grounds were very nice, clean, and staff friendly. Loved the views overlooking the lake. Good hiking, we took the trail around the lake. It is easy to moderate about 5.2 miles. Food was just okay, prices a bit high for what you received, to be expected at a resort. We went off site for one of our meals. Cumberland, MD is about 10 minutes away. Had a good time exploring.
Overall our stay at Rocky Gap was lovely. The resort is very well kept and the staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. Our room was very nice and clean and the shower was spa-like! The only complaint I had about the room was the hardness of the mattress. The restaurants were a bit of a disappointment with some of the food very under seasoned and not particularly hot. Since we were there off season we were not able to take advantage of weekend entertainment offerings, but we knew that ahead of time. Overall, I give it a 4 out of 5.
Peaceful experience.
Great location, beautiful lake and scenery. Property was well maintained and friendly staff. Enjoyed our stay. Food seemed a bit overpriced and good but nothing special. Really enjoyed the outside area and hiking trails.
Very peaceful. Nice guests. Great staff. Restaurant was nice. Very clean and safe. Nice little getaway for us. We loved it.
Outstanding!
The hotel served its purpose. Gambled a little, the casino is very nice. But overall we had good service at the hotel. There was an issue with the rooms but it was resolved shortly after. Restaurants were okay, you have to go early if you don’t make reservations which isn’t an issue. Prices are slightly over priced but it’s a “resort” 🤷♀️ It has a nice outdoor patio with live music and a small beach overlooking the lake.
Love it! Beautiful and fun!
Need nore staff in restaurants. Food was radty
Gorgeous location, scenic golf, clean, comfortable rooms. Nice casino. Service and food in restaurants a total disaster. Understaffed, unprofessional, and poorly managed. One waiter, Logan, was great. The rest were openly miserable and passed that on to guests. Kitchen was overwhelmed early each evening, ran out of many items, and guests walked out. What a shame
I love the view and the fact that it shares property with the park and and the view is beautiful.
It was beautiful on the lake with options to kayak or paddle boat.
This was a beautiful area and the hotel was amazing with many very nice amenities, especially for the value - it truly was above our expectations. There are several smoking areas - one outside the front door which was very unpleasant to walk by as we went in and out and despite having a smoking section with a door in the casino, the entire casino smelled like smoke.
The property and rooms are very clean. The room was very comfortable and quiet. The restaurant was very disappointing. We went to the casual dining and after sitting for over 15 with no service (while people who came in after us were served) we decided to leave. We tried the other restaurant but was told a reservation was necessary. We ended up eating at the quick serve area but the food was disappointing.
It is great here. We have been here twice
Nice casino resort located in a beautiful setting. Property has great amenities including pool and private beach area. Easy to access the lake and golf course. Also convenient to Cumberland and other Western Md attractions. Would definitely stay here again
Pleasant staff. We were able to check-in early and get a late check-out. The area is peaceful and picturesque.
It was fun and quiet
This hotel definitely caters more to the casino community than their actual guests. No separate parking for guests vice casino goers so be prepared to walk at least 1/2 mile with your luggage. Also the restaurants on site keep very odd hours and expect reservations even when the restaurant is 3/4 empty. Bathrooms are tiny, no microwave in rooms. Better place to visit if you want to casino but not a great place to actually spend the night.
Room I booked was for 21 and over yet there were noisy kids on the floor, almost right across from my room which was not as expected. There was an issue with power, so there was no a/c, no lights in the room until 11 pm on Sunday so was very suffy and uncomfortable.
Amazing Place, love it!
We went for the beach and the pool. My daughter loved it! She is special needs and spent over 6 hours in the pool. My husband and I had a great view of the beach and fire pits from the pool and were able to order food from the restaurant and eat poolside. Breakfast was also good.
LIKED THE 2 DECK BLACKJACK AND HOT TUB. DON'T LIKE THE CONTINUOUS SCHUFFLING MACHINES ON THE OTHER BLACKJACK TABLES.
At check-in there were no luggage carts to be found. At restaurants the service was generally slow and employees didn’t greet or communicate much. Water pressure in the shower was terrible. The shelf in the shower was also missing leaving nowhere to put soap, shampoo, razor, etc. Guests in other rooms enjoying cigarettes or marijuana could be smelled in our room at times. The overall cleanliness was good.
Very nice property
Our stay was nice, but they are very short staffed and it shows
After many years driving by this resort, my husband and I desided to try it out. We were looking for a place not too far away to celebrate our Anniversary. The property is beautiful but there are underlying concerns. I had high expectations but I was disappointed. I believe there is a staffing issue at this resort. I had purchased an upgrade on my room for a view but I got the parking lot instead. When I asked about changing, the said nothing was available. We had to make reservations at the main restaurant through open table. The restaurant , Lakeside Grill, could not alter our reservation but when we arrived the restaurant was not full. We sat outside on the deck, the tables were bare. The food was average and not worth the price. When I asked the server about various food, he could not tell me. The room was clean and the atmosphere was lively. The other grill had live music at night but the food took awhile to get. The beach area by the lake was lovely but when you went into the water there was so many rocks and bricks it was hard to walk. The casino was good but all the tables were full if you did not get there early, you would not be able to play. It was a relaxing weekend but it just was not up to expectations.
Could use better pillows otherwise room was great. Would love to see a buffet but not necessary
We felt the beds were not very comfortable at all. The food though was excellent on all meals.
Food only about 6 out of 10. Ordered champaign and was told no flutes, but when conplained, 2 were found. Was ready to send bottle back.
My husband and I visited Rocky Gap for a weekend in August. We went to a comedy show Thursday night and enjoyed the small venue area for the comedian. The doors opened at 7 and once we sat down, we had access to a small bar in the room. No snacks or appetizers in the show room. The next day we hiked the lake loop trail. It’s 5 miles and easy to walk with mostly flat trail. Relaxing afternooon, lots of spots to sit around the lake and bring down drinks from the bar - signatures. The outside bar opens at around 2:00. The Casino was clean and did not have a heavy smoke smell. They had nooks for people who wanted to smoke. The casino staff were exceptionally nice at the craps table. It was my first time playing craps and they were so helpful and made me feel comfortable trying out the game. We didn’t get a chance to check out the golf area but plan to go back for another visit soon. The only negative is the lack of staff for the restaurants- which is just a problem everywhere right now. They were unable to seat us at the lakeside restaurant even with a lot of tables obviously empty. The lobby food selection was okay. The signatures sports bar and lakeside restaurant were the two best options for food. The room was clean and had a nice view of the pool and lake. The room did not smell like smoke. Nice place for a weekend trip! Friendly staff. Clean and safe.
Nice casino. Friendly staff. Beautiful grounds.
electric on tv wall didint work
Beautiful property. Clean room, pool area and lake front. Staff was super friendly.
Restaurant service was horrible
We had a great stay. The resort is beautiful, but I wouldn't pay extra for a lakefront view or a separate sitting area. The extra space was just by the bed with a chair and ottoman.
The pillows are so soft like sleeping on a cloud the food was excellent and the alcohol cocktails were very good can’t wait to get back there for another few nights love the casino
The property is nice and especially well-maintained outside. However, the staff in most parts of the hotel were either rude or extremely disinterested in their patrons - with one exception…the young gentleman working the snack bar both mornings we were there - he was awesome. I also ended up with someone else’s room charge (alcohol - and I’m allergic and don’t drink) on my room and am having to actually wait to get my card credited. If the resort was appropriately staffed (they seemed short-handed), perhaps this would’ve been much better. Parking is also a mess - between gamblers, golfers, and guests, it seems no one has a good spot. Lastly, the hotel has not updated itself well for ADA (doors without buttons for those with wheelchairs; doorways that aren’t flush, so a wheelchair/scooter can’t go over it). Even though we did not need the ADA accommodations, there were a number of people there who clearly did.
First time here, and i can't wait to come back.
Beautiful venue, lovely lake and grounds!!!
Could use better attitudes in some employees.
The staff was absolutely wonderful. The resort was very clean and well maintained.
Great place for a weekend get away. Loved the golf course, definitely bring bug spray! Loved the cart ladies who drove around with drinks &, snacks. The only downside is the staff who do their jobs but definitely make you feel as if you are bothering them and would rather do anything else.
Everything
Lakeside grill food not good French fries soggy. Salad greens dirty
We have been coming here for years. The hotel itself is nice enough. The decor in the rooms is a little gaudy. The bright pictures on the walls with the giant words are just not pleasant to look at. Photos of the beautiful lake and mountains would be much more appealing. The pillow cases on my sisters bed were dirty and stained. The beds weren’t very comfortable. The restaurants on site could use some improvements. The food at Signatures is average at best. As for the casino they definitely don’t pay out often. Can barely make enough to keep playing most of the time.
Where do I start!!!! The ac in our room would not come on until you were awake and sweating. Every hour my husband too, who is usually cold. The next morning the restaurant for breakfast, 6 standing to be seated and 1 waiting to pay his check. 5-7 minutes with at least 6 servers walked by and looked but not as much as a smile. What about “good morning, someone will be with you shortly” or “I will get someone”. Then the hosted or manager shows up looks like she just climbed out of bed. Not at all welcoming. Then it was so hot before we got our food we were both sweating. Then my bacon and cheese omelette was horrible. So greasy. The bottom of the omelette was browned in oil and was crispy. Home fries were frozen and deep fried. Oh they added a couple sautéed onions on top so now they can call them home fries. So now we go to the beautiful lake to have a beer. It’s 1:00 Sunday afternoon, we were told the 1st time the Tiki bar would open at 1. We say it’s not open!! Oh must be 2 today! Well 4:00 pm they open with no cold beer at all. Under staffed not friendly staff. Needs some major changes. I worked at a Marriott for years. Never again!
The staff was friendly and everything at the resort was accessible
Quiet surroundings and relaxing venues.
From check in to checkout was fantastic. We celebrated our 50th wedding anniversary and in our room was a card and cake from the staff. Service is amazing, restaurants are great and to top it off the casino is the cherry on top. Rocky Gap is definitely my Happy Place. Highly recommended!
Always a pleasure to stay there
