Clayton Hotel Cork City

We didn’t care for this hotel.

The room was very tired and grubby. There were stains on the carpet, a hole in the wall, ripped fabric on one bed frame, rust on the bedside lamps and dirty voile drapes. The bathroom was also tired. Brown mould on grouting and grubby shower frame. For the price of the room this was unacceptable.

~ Parkgebühr etwa hoch für 24h; ~ Hotel schon etwas in die Jahre gekommen, trotzdem alles sehr sauber

Bedrooms are what you expect from clayton hotels and showers were good

Service is awful. Had issue with the tv. Took 2 calls and 30mins for guy to come, service was slow in the bar and football was on a screen as old as me. Very poor quality and no sound. Ordered room service at 10.21.... chased at 11.08 and then it came. One pint of guinness took almost 1 hour. Complained about the service and the guy said ill let management no. After a night of bekng worken by drugged up homeless on the road outside the windown the Next day at the desk when I complained he said he would upgrade my stay at the liffey valley the following week. Well guess what... he didnt. The guy with the long manicured fingernails was the guy who promised

Modern comforts and a cosy atmosphere close to all the action

There were 3 of us in a deluxe double+single bed room and only 2 bottles of water and 2 bath towels were supplied so we had to contact reception for more which took time to deliver

Location and quality of hotel was great. Everything you need - bar & restaurant.

The staff the food the breakfast were excellent. The beds were comfortable, very clean and caring.

The location was perfect. Walking distance to the centre but not to close to impact on any sleep overnight

the location of the Hotel was perfect. the room was amazing. All of the staff i came in contact with were friendly and professional. the was an incedent in the bar with another customer and the care and attention shown to the couple was exceptional.

I was directed to the self checkin by signs in the lobby on my arrival. It was quick and easy to use, but I would have prefered the personal touch. this was my mistake and not your.

Needs repainting in rooms breakfast was 30£ for two and there was nothing available at 10 o’clock in morning no bread no fry up no milk I had watermelon and grapefruit juice was told it was coming I was there 20 minutes nothing came as for the smell of piss outside probably not there fault just the homeless people overall very disappointed

Location and size of rooms were great. The facilities on offer are good.

The room we had was lovely but sadly the bathroom was not clean. As we got there late and only spent one night we didn’t really notice till the morning after. Reported to reception and we were given some money off.

Property was clean and well maintained

We booked the family room for family of four and they only provided three towels. While not a big deal it did take a while to get the extra towel to the room.

Great hotel and very lovely staff. Meals were really good

Very disappointed that parking was in a multi story car park which was paid for separately. There was a lift up into the hotel. But the cost was a lot extra at over €50 for our 3 day stay. Booking. Com mentioned there could be a cost once but nit everytime they said tgere was parking.

It was very well located and comfortable

Automated check ins - no staff to help us with bags from the car park below - it was woefully tricky to get to our room and took three trips in a convoluted double lift journey with passes and all sorts of- I was travelling with a post operative friend

The manager was clearly racist. I was with 3 other friends, we booked a family deluxe room which allows 2 adults and 2 kids only, but almost 10 days before our visit, I called the hotel and asked if 4 adults staying would be ok or do we pay any charges. They said ITS COMPLETELY OK. We went in on the day of our visit, wanted to keep our bags there for a while because we were quite early before the check-in time. I (being a brown person) went on to talk to the manager because booking was under my name, she saw 4 of us and said "oh the booking's only for 2 adults". I then said that I've called at your reception a while ago and even have chat screenshots of conversations between me and your hotel who said that IT IS OK EVEN IF YOU ARE 4 ADULTS. She said, after I showed her the chat details, " This is NOT us. This is the people from booking.com and they're the ones talking to you not us". HOW DO YOU NOT KNOW THAT SOMEBODY IS TALKING TO YOUR CUSTOMERS IN BEHALF OF YOU AND MAKING RESERVATIONS? What kind of hotel does that? I said "Well I know ya'll record the calls, that's my number, that's the date you can check because at-least the receptionist was yours not some agency's". She said, in a very loud and RUDE tone "I'm the manger here, I'm the manger of this whole hotel, you clearly haven't booked for 4 adults, I can't let you stay". But I have all the confirmation with proof? We then went to use the restroom, my other friend- who is WHITE, IRISH, said that she sounds way too rude with me and to let her talk. We went back, my friend did the talking, the manger FLIPPED IN JUST A SECOND. Her whole personality just like CHANGED. She went to my friend who is WHITE- "oh miss I'm very sorry, it was a misunderstanding from our side, you can go on and store your luggage here"- in the SOFTEST TONE a human can possibly speak.

El desayuno estaba muy bien, muy completo. La ubicación del hotel muy buena y la habitación tenía mucha luz.

No me gustó la bañera, era muy alta para entrar y salir, con riesgo de resbalar; teníamos que agarrarnos de algún asidero para entrar y salir, no adecuada para personas mayores. La limpieza del aseo no fue muy exhaustiva.

Central to the city, car park underneath, great bar, a very spacious lobby area. Comfortable rooms

Check in is 3pm which is late enough in the day but when we got there at 3 none of our 2 rooms were available to us, we had a drink in the bar when we came back to reception only 1 room was ready and we didn’t get access to the 2nd room till 4 pm which had us running late for our planned dinner.

Good location and got a balcony which was nice

The room was freezing when we arrived , called reception to change it, shower was also broken . The water was leaking out of the hose.

Le tarif est excessif au vu de la prestation. Malgré la présence de personnel derrière le guichet, l'arrivée et le départ se font uniquement sur borne automatique, sans aucun contact humain. De plus, la propreté laisse à désirer. Le rapport qualité/prix est très décevant.

Hôtel de grand confort très bien situé le long de la rivière et à proximité du centre ville avec parking privé. Grande chambre très confortable (literie et équipements chambre et salle de bains). Très bon petit déjeuner

The location was great, breakfast was ok, rooms were clean. The breakfast staff was really kind

I’ve never been treated this way by a reception staff before. Paying that much for a hotel I expect at least kind service. Debbie at the reception was passive aggressive from the start of the conversation. When I didn’t understand what she asked about she was adding snarky comments - for example about surnames for the rooms booked. She did not show us where is the breakfast, anything about the pool, how to validate the ticket. When I said she could have shown us where is the machine she said they want to teach their guests how to use technology. I don’t know if it’s because of the language barrier or whatever reason but it was very unpleasant interaction, one I would never expect from a hotel with 4 stars. About the facilities - you can see they are a bit worn out, stains on the carpet.

The staff was great, except I asked for a wake up call and never got one. That was not good But otherwise the staff was excellent

The wings were tiny, and it was room service, with added charges i didnt expect

large comfortable room in a central location, next to the river but away from noisy streets with bars. Our room looked out onto the central atrium/seating area (inside view) which was unusual but meant it was quiet and the room stayed dark.

We used the pool early morning but as swimmers were doing lengths it wasnt really a pool for a family. Its unfortunate that the car park reduced rate only allows for one entry and exit as would've liked to have had the flexibility to go out early morning, return, and then go out again in the evening (it was possible but you pay the overnight rate twice)

La ubicación, el hotel está al lado de lo que parece un centro de ayuda social dónde entregan comida a personas. Eso provocó una sensación de inseguridad dado que se quedaban en la puerta del centro, pegado a la ventana de nuestra habitación, gritos y discusiones entre ellos dado que muchos estaban borrachos, además de tirar las bolsas de comida que les daban. Da una mala imagen en relación a limpieza de la calle y nos provocó una sensación de inseguridad, sobretodo a última hora de la tarde y noche. Otra cosa que no nos gustó es q al hacer el check in no nos informaron que se podía reservar el desayuno con un descuento el día anterior, con lo que al día siguiente no pudimos disfrutar del descuento y el desayuno era muy caro.

Hotel was very well presented. Everyone was friendly. Room was lovely, and the location was superb.

I booked a balcony room which I thought came with a bath tub as it showed one in the pictures, but we jist had a shower.

Great location to explore the city. Underground parking was really handy.

Long wait for restock of food at the buffet breakfast. Asked for plant based milk in the room for tea and coffee but was told we couldn’t have it yet it was available in the restaurant.

Was in room 101. No usable plugs near the bed ( have medical equipment and also to charge phone). Shower had mold. Plates at breakfast were dirty. Some staff seemed distracted - not focussed on us.

Prachtige ligging aan de Lee. Mooie kamer met goede bedden. Oude badkamer. Zeer vriendelijk personeel.

I loved the location to the paddywagon tours and everything was super close in walking distance.

I'm so disappointed in the underground parking at the clayton hotel. On the website lead to believe it was $12.00 for 24 hours. We arrived at 3pm on the 13th of August and left around 8 am on the 15th of August it cost $74.16. .i can see if it was there 5 days but that is ridiculous considering what we paid for our stay .

Camera ampia, la nostra stanza aveva l’affaccio sul fiume e un piccolo terrazzino, molto apprezzato. Stanza isolata acusticamente Il parcheggio è comodo e proprio sotto l’hotel e da cui si prende l’ascensore per salire in reception, bisogna però chiedere alla reception il qr code per usufruire della tariffa convenzionata

Prezzo decisamente alto per il solo pernottamento Letto non molto comodo Purtroppo la zona sul retro dell’hotel è un po frequentata da senzatetto, accedendo però dal davanti non ci sono problemi
