The property is very conveniently placed in the centre of the town with all the markets close by... The best was a short walk to the most iconic Durbar Square... My big thanks to the staff who were very courteous and forthcoming Will definitely want to return and stay here again

*****Aloft by Marriott Kathmandu Thamel***** In celebrating our 49th Wedding Anniversary, my wife Marylou and I visited six countries with Brunei, Singapore, Malaysia, Nepal, Taiwan, abd the Philippines. We mostly stayed at a Marriott hotel brands in each of the places we visited. By far, Aloft by Marriott Kathmandu Thamel was the best place and we rate this hotel 10 stars. Everything about this hotel screams luxury from its friendly hotel staff, a centrally downtown location with shopping, restaurants, entertainment (dinner cultural show, clubs, casino) and places to visit.  We  loved every moment staying here.  The hotel staff (especially assistant manager Sachit, concierge manager Hom Nath Lamischhane, Ayush who ensured our room was always freshly clean, along with Rami, Rajibe, Samyang, Regina, Susanna, Nikimah, lounge staff Sanju  Nikhil to name a few) and countless incredibly hotel staff made sure my wife Marylou and I had everything we needed for our 5 days comfortable stay with daily access to their executive lounge and daily breakfast.  Concierge Hom Nath Lamischhane went beyond his duties after hours by taking us to places to visit Kathmandu Durbar that my wife Marylou wanted to see especially shopping. With Hom’s assistance, we saw and experienced the beauty of Mount Everest.  Everyday we went out, Hom secured us a reliable cars with air conditioning plus reliable English speaking drivers for us to enjoy the city especially able for us to attend a Catholic mass service at the Cathedral of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Lalitpur.  With his connections, Hom found us a reliable English speaking tour guide that knows the history of Nepal & beyond with Mr. Rameshwar, a former English teacher turn tour guide.  Best of all, was when Hom with his wife Sangita and son Shumvan accompanied us to  KoChangs Taste off Thakali Nepalese dinner cultural show.  We enjoyed their company, our food with experiencing the many local Nepalese foods, beer, and had my wife Marylou participate with the Nepalese dancers.  We had a fantastic vacation here  and we plan to be staying here again on our next visit of Kathmandu with our children and grandson.  Message us for additional info regarding our Kathmandu experiences … cheets, DM Untal, yasura1221@yahoo.com, 7/18/2026

This is a individual thing, but I like to start the shower and let the water get ready. The way the shower is setup, you have to be in the stall to start and can't do anything else while it warms up.

The staff were very attentive. They made sure we were comfortable at all times. It is in a great location.

The rooms were spacious and comfortable, the staff were welcoming, and the overall service was exceptional. A special thanks to the team at Nook Restaurant. Chef Sanjeev and Chef Deepak ,Rajkumar prepared delicious meals and went above and beyond to make every dining experience memorable. Anu and Rebecca provided outstanding service—they were incredibly warm, attentive, and always greeted us with genuine smiles. Their hospitality truly made us feel at home. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Kathmandu. Looking forward to staying here again!

The room was 3 star rated but there was not even a small table available for eating or drinking. The restaurant had an open kitchen which is a serious concern for food safety as no one was using gloves while cooking. My booking included dinner and breakfast. My experience was that even a roadside dhaba provides better service and quality than this. It is my experience that perhaps the people of Nepal call a 3 star hotel as a 5 star hotel. If this is counted in 5 star hotels then I would call it a stigma.

We had an amazing time in Nepal and staying in Aloft felt safe and well taken care of. Especially Hom, he was amazing even before we arrived. From helping to find pony/ horse riding for me and my niece to organizing transportation seamlessly, going out of his way to help. Location wise is also in the center of the city, super convenient, I highly recommend!

Very comfortable, staff are all very accommodating and friendly. Cocktail on the rooftop bar were absolutely amazing. We have been very well treated the moment we arrived. Strongly recommend this property, great rooms and beds are very comfortable. Breakfast in the morning has a great variety of food options. A+ on my end.

Very comfortable, quiet rooms. A haven in crazy, wonderful Thamel. Breakfast and lunch staff were incredibly accommodating. Remembered my name and room number beyond the first day. Lounge staff were exceptional. Evening snacks in lounge became my dinner. Shweta (sp?) at reception was wonderful.

Среднестатистический душ, не очень удобный для ежедневного использования. Впрочем маленького душа со шлангом мне недостаёт практически во всех отелях. Ещё хотелось бы отдельную кровать или диван для старшего ребёнка. Увы в гостинице была только детская кроватка для малышей.

One of the most maintained hotels in Kathmandu. Have been staying here since past 4 years, the service and facilities are only getting better. The hotel has the warmest staff, Shweta at the Reception, Mr. Kiran and Rebecca at the Nook restaurant and the lovely team at Nylgiri Sky Lounge. Excellent food, gym, spa and comfortable rooms. Lovely place to be at !!!

Staff wonderfully helpful, friendly and efficient. Room was lovely. Clean, comfortable bed, quiet room, climate control worked well. Some amenities included bottled water and welcome cookies and chocolates. Loved the fluffy, soft towels and hot water. Ideally located to shopping and restaurants in Thamel. Breakfast had a large selection of tasty foods and the restaurant staff was attentive to diner’s needs. I have visited Kathmandu twice and stayed at this hotel both times. This is the only hotel I would choose in the future if I visit Nepal again.

Pleasant and professional. Business friendly. Apt location, well connected to prime locations in Kathmandu. Special thanks to Rebecca for her hospitality at the restaurant. We hosted our event at their facility and the facility experience was pretty good. They have a great chef too, make excellent non veg meals and starters. Over nicely priced and lovely get away place. Happy to choose this facility back again for my future stays.

There’s so much to explore in Nepal and this hotel provides the perfect launchpad for all discoveries. The location couldn’t be any better (close to all the happening spots in Thamel and the airport is also at a convenient distance) Food, service, and rooms are great.

I was in town to see Kathmandu, and the hotel was a great jumping-off point. The staff were very friendly and helpful in helping me see the city. They even set up a tour and gave me their WhatsApp contact to ensure it went well. The breakfast was great, with a good selection of food options. The gym was the highlight of the hotel. You don’t very often see hotel gyms with a high-quality air bike. I highly recommend this hotel.

Great gym, great breakfast and really friendly and helpful staff. Absolute silence and darkness at night. Loved the huge windows and view.

Someone mentioned the shower issue which before my stay I couldn’t understand, but now I do! I couldn’t find a way not to turn the shower on without getting a sharp cold downpour. They need to change the side the doors open from.

Staffs are efficient and friendly. Excellent location. Rebecca from the breakfast section was very helpful. Kiran the manager is really pleasant, checking to see our comfort. The young lady maintaining the coffee section too very helpful. There are many young people at the front desk and security are very helpful too

The Aloft was a lovely hotel and exactly what we needed to recuperate after not feeling well trecking at high altitude. It was clean, the staff was very friendly and accommodating, the breakfast was a delicious spread, and it was everything we needed as a home base for our days in Kathmandu. Thank you to the Aloft staff for providing such a comfortable stay. We will definitely stay here again if/when we come back to Kathmandu!

Stayed on our business trip to Kathmandu. Decent hotel in heart of Nepal, near to major market n night life. Rooms are spacious and comfortable. food is good n wide spread in breakfast. Good services n team is courteous

Visited for spa service, it was relaxing experience as therapist Bishnu has amazing hands for massage therapy. She is friendly and lovely person. However, needs to be trained for guest handling and service delivery.

Recently stayed here for 2 nights & then also had a day room for when we returned from our Nepal tour. It is a large very modern hotel with everything you need for a stay in a hotel. Staff are very friendly & helpful. We had 2 nights in one of the larger upper floor rooms which gave us access to a separate bar, where drinks & snacks were included for a few hours each evening. Great alround hotel. Very clean & good location. Definitely recommended.

This was our first time at the Aloft Kathmandu. Location-wise, this is in the Thamel area, with a multitude of shops, restaurants nearby; including an attached mall and cinema. We got upgraded to a suite thanks to our Marriott status; and what a beautiful corner suite it was. An excellent large hall and dining area, a convenient kitchenette space, a comfortable bedroom with sufficient wardrobe space, and a generous bathroom. Breakfast was excellent, with slight variations on the local food every day. Check-in and check-out was efficient and professional; and the service factor was absolutely top-notch. We enjoyed our stay at the Aloft, and if/when we return to Kathmandu, this is where we will stay again. Thanks!

This is the worst room i have ever stayed in. The rooms are so small that its almost suffocating. Theres no leg room. No place to even open the luggage properly

Good is excellent with vast choice of all types of food, Nepalese, Indian, Chinese and European. The garlic Nan bread served by Sumrat was freshly cooked. I enjoyed the warm swimming pool, showers, loungers. All the staff are welcoming, provided a good service. Rooms were clean, beds very comfortable and I had an enjoyable stay.

We went for a buffet breakfast, food was awesome, staff at lobby and counter was very professional and friendly, I just don’t like one thing that , I ask for one server can you get me a watermelon juice, he said it’s self service, I knew it’s self service but I saw him serving foreign guest, but don’t know why he don’t wanna serve us Nepali, is there any rules not to serve Nepali, but on other hand other waiter serve us with dosa and omelets. Is there anything issue to serve average Nepali, it’s not about just a it’s about the experience.

I am a guide and I went there with my clients, they sent us in lobby when we were checking in into the room and ready to go in room. I asked about my client's suitcase in the lobby and they said that they had already taken the bags to our rooms we went to the room there were no bags. We waited for 15 minutes and went down and asked security but they told me that the bags were already sent I told them I came from room and there is nothing in room but I asked again two security but they misbehaved with me and blamed me that I used vulgar word. I told them I did not use that word but they still blamed me and told me go,go,go. I had my driver with me as an evidence he knows everything what actually happened. They were very rude to me. (Uncomfortable service)!!!!!

This hotel is a pleasant choice in the heart of Thamel. The room was lovely with a comfortable bed, good breakfast. The bar serves drinks, snacks and It is an excellent option for a stay in Kathmandu.

I stayed here after completing my Everest Base Camp trek. I had a wonderful spa experience, the massage and facial was out of this world amazing. Great food options, and theres a rock climbing wall and a restaurant/coffee shop across the road that is wonderful! Also, I want to give a shout out to Medina in the restaurant. I was there for 3 days and she remembered my name and my coffee order after coming in the first day. THIS is what customer service is all about. She is an amazing person. Very personable and kind. Please let her know she made my day every morning I would see her. I would definitely stay here again.

The Aloft Kathmandu Hotel was one of the best travel experiences my husband and I have had. The staff went above and beyond- kind, courteous and very attentive to your every need. The concierge staff of Hom, and another young man and lovely young lady were superb. We had received a quote from a travel agency and we asked them their opinion. They provided the same services for half the price! And it was amazing. The drivers and tour guides they selected were experts, mastered the English language very well and were relaxed and fun. The hotel itself was spotless, aesthetically beautiful and the art all around the hotel was museum quality. The food- breakfast, lunch and dinner, all were varied, generous and delicious.
