The hotel is beautifully designed, with far reaching views over Kathmandu and the mountains beyond. The staff were charming and attentive with high standards in every area. I liked the fact that whilst it was modern in feel, it was most definitely Nepali, with delightful local touches

I really enjoyed my stay at Hotel Barahi Kathmandu. The property is beautiful, clean and well-maintained. The swimming pool area is excellent, and the overall atmosphere is relaxing and comfortable. The staff were very friendly, polite and helpful. The location is also very convenient.

There was nothing major that I disliked. Everything was well managed and comfortable during my stay.

The hotel is in a very good central location, making it convenient for exploring Kathmandu. The room itself was very nice, comfortable and well presented, and overall I was happy with the accommodation. However, I was disappointed with the level of service in some areas. In my opinion, some members of staff would benefit from additional hospitality training. I reported to Reception on two separate occasions that the body wash dispenser in my room was not working correctly and asked for it to be replaced. Unfortunately, despite these requests, the issue was still not dealt with after a week. The staff on the 7th-floor restaurant/ breakfast were very courteous and polite, which I appreciated. However, the service was sometimes very slow and unresponsive. On several occasions, I found myself waiting around five minutes simply to get someone’s attention. Overall, the hotel itself is very nice, the rooms are good and the location is excellent. However, for a hotel of this standard, I believe the attention to detail, responsiveness and consistency of customer service need improvement. With some additional staff training and better follow-up on guest requests, I believe Hotel Barahi could provide a much stronger overall experience

Hotel is in a great location, lovely views from the restaurant. Room was very spacious, modern and clean. The breakfast was excellent, lots of options and everything was delicious. The staff were so nice and friendly.

Variedade de alimentos, variando do estilo nepales ao ocidental. Variedades de shots organicos, diversos tipos de pães, comida quente ( arroz, legumes, macarrão, comidas indianas - para o paladar mais oriental) e panquecas e ovos para o paladar ocidental. Equipe muito prestativa e sorridente, O quarto grande com ar condicionado, iluminação diferenciada. TV grande com diversos canais e uma cama king muito confortável. O banheiro grande com chuveiro quente e água abundante.

Só como uma observação: O banheiro não tem box, apenas um vidro que não é sificiente para conter a água do chuveiro e temos um piso um pouco molhado. Mas é apenas um detalhe.

Good location, just opposite the Garden of Dreams, and easily walkable to some great local restaurants in Thamel. Room was big, spacey, modern and clean. Staff were all very attentive and polite. Lots of choices for breakfast. They even packed you a breakfast pack if you had an early start. We were there for a family wedding and the staff were so helpful. Big shout out to the lovely Ganga and Pasang who helped the girls tie their sarees for the wedding reception. Pasang really made us feel welcome and checked we had everything we needed for the wedding. Would highly recommend, and come back....which we did after a few days in Pokhara!

Prices in the restaurant are quite high, so worth eating out as there are some good bars and restaurants nearby. Use Uber for taxi's as the hotel taxi is very pricey in comparison.

The Spa booking systmen needs to be improved. Tried booking two days in a row in the afternoon and was not successful. Needs Improvement when all Spa staff are busy

This was another wonderful stay at Hotel Barahi Kathmandu. The staff are welcoming, attentive, and always ready to help with anything you need. The hotel is perfectly located in Thamel, making it easy to explore the city's main tourist area. The rooms are comfortable, and the breakfast offers a good variety of choices.

I think roof top restaurant service could be better. The staffs were nice but seems like professional trainings need to be done to provide a 5 star quality service.

It was a great city view from the restaurant. Loved sitting by the pool. Very attentive staff. I would like to point out Arbin Shrestha really helped me a great deal on my overall stay.

I would not necessarily swim in the pool why many people are sitting around eating and watching me.

The location is great - right on the edge of Thamel so you can easily reach the busy streets without being in the thick of it. The hotel is also directly opposite the peaceful Garden of Dreams. The room itself was really comfortable and spacious. I am coeliac and the hotel were great at catering for me each day at breakfast - shout out to servers Deviyani, Kabita & Bini and Chef Rajkurnar for bringing me breads and sweets - as well as with room service too.

Positives - Facilities, pool, cleanliness, cookies in room, water bottles, location, friendly security guards (much more friendly than reception staff)

Negatives - Expensive for what it is, breakfast choice very limited, staff need much more training in general, reception check in process was a disaster saying no availability of rooms pre check in time (when there were) and I was checking out at 3am (note this was rectified but damage was already done at start of holiday), reception check out process took way too long (over 30min with too much paperwork, needs to speed up), power cuts being stuck in lifts with staff forcing me to wait after to fill up lift after being stuck in it, water at breakfast with cucumber/oranges - just leave a glass bottle of water on each table, undercooked chicken at dinner and tried to charge me before I kicked up a fuss…the list continues! Such a shame as property itself, pool, cleanliness is fantastic

Fantastic location, the staff was exceptional, rooms were clean and breakfast was beyond my expectations.

Noise kept me up a bit but no one else seemed to have an issue sleeping.

The hotel is amazing. Modern, spacious and location is very central in Thamel, walking distance. The breakast was incredible, fresh and variety of options. I did massages and facials everyday. it was so relaxing.

First night - Cigarette smoke coming though the ventilation into the room. Maintenance called. They opened the window. Second night - Being woke up between 2am and 4am with staff moving furniture in the restaurant in the floor above.

The hotel is located just outside the famous Thamel area, and is a great choice if you prefer a peaceful experience over the hustle and bustle of Thamel. Great views of the city of Kathmandu from the rooftop pool and restaurant(We could see the famous Swayambunath temple from our room). We enjoyed some great meals at the hotel, and the breakfast spread was quite good. Thanks to Arbin who was in touch via Whatsapp before we checked in, and replied promptly to my requests. Tip: Book a room on the high floors.

Location, room, value for money

I wanted to book second night at the hotel and in the reception they said that the hotel is full for the night. I checked on booking and it showed one available room, I went to reception to check regarding it and they said that room is not the same as mine as the remaining room was not non-nosmoking. I didnt care about it as I am non smoker, but I can stay in room suited for smoking as well. I was informed that I dont need to book it in booking and in few hours they will contact me if I can stay in my room or I need to move to another room. After couple of hours I was informed that no rooms as no longer available and I have to check out. Terrible service from the front of the house.

The facilities and location were amazing! I was worried it might be noisy when I realised the location was on a main road but it wasn’t at all. The spa treatment and restaurant were also great!

The hotel was very good. It's rare to find such a wide breakfast selection in a place. The roof terrace is wonderful. Nice pool with a view of the city.

Unfortunately, the water supply broke down and there was no water available for half a day, although they promised it would be fixed within an hour. This is probably not the hotel's fault, but the city's.

Really nice, clean and upscale hotel in a location conducive to walking to good shopping area. Staff upgraded us to a one bedroom suite without extra charge and without our asking. Our hired guide just said “give them a nice room “. Very nice restaurant on property up stairs with great views. Nice vibe to hotel, especially the room. Kinda like a Nepalese mountain feel but very modern. Loved it.

Hotel Barahi in Kathmandu is a 5‑star property with clean rooms and a clean restaurant. The breakfast buffet is okay: you can get fresh omelettes, and the selection of bread and pastries is decent. The restaurant itself is quite small and feels a bit cramped for the number of guests. The rooms are comfortable and simply furnished; the furniture is a bit older but still in good condition. The hotel is busy, with many guests and local visitors passing through, but the lobby is very small and not really suitable for a 5‑star hotel. We wanted to extend our stay, but were told this was not possible, so we had to book another hotel for the remaining days until our flight. Payment was only accepted by credit card; the receptionist even refused our 20‑euro notes, which felt strange and unprofessional. The pool is small and the area around it is very tight, so there is hardly any space to sit and relax. Overall, the price is reasonable, but with a larger lobby, better payment options and a bit more space in the restaurant and pool area, this hotel could truly feel like a proper 5‑star experience.
