This just blew our minds! The advertorial pics were stunning but the reality was even better. The room was magnificent - spacious - seperate areas and outside price patio with so much foliage but downstairs in the communal area was even more stunning. Hotel cats (Nina & Simone), glorious plants and foliage plus the sounds of various water features. Fantastic staff - even by Cambodian standards standards, these guys were even better 😍. The in-house resturant platters were so reasonably priced & generous along with the absence of service charges (!) The price shown , was the price charged. Even the in-house laundry service was minuscule cost-wise.

Great location, close to city centre, friendly staff happy to help in every possible way. I need to call landline local number they provided the phone. Hotel manager Sokun was fantastic. I had early departure they made a breakfast pack to go. Food they serve is fantastic, local or western. Rooms spacious and clean.

Stayed here many times always very accommodating even when making bookings 10 minutes before arrival upgraded us as they had a room available. Amazing breakfast nice and quiet right in the heart of the town. Nice bedding great shower. Run by Europeans and as a result, European quality even though it’s a little bit more expensive than other places, the breakfast would cost you at least $10 each outside.

Wonderful hotel plus amazingly kind and helpful staff members. We were luckily upgraded to the Queen Suite, and the room was really spacious and pretty. The pool is a nice place to relax, and the restaurant/bar next to it is full of charm. Right in the center of the city, I would highly recommend to stay here for your passing through Kampot

The common areas and the room have a well thought decor. Nice breakfast although it is not a buffet and limited choice. The staff is kind and welcoming. Good position in the city center.

There is no lift. Payment by card is highly discouraged as they prefer cash. They charge you with extra fee if you decide to pay by card (this is the only occasion we have to do that during our stay in Cambodia). Trips or tours organized by hotel are very expensive (the quote we were given for a tuk tuk transport was double what we paid by organizing it ourselves). Despite the room being nice and confortable the price we paid was excessive compared to other hotels we stayed of same level.

Hotel Old Cinema caters for a range of dietary needs. All meals are excellent. Preparation, presentation and flavour are all there! For one vegan, and one coeliac, the menu was fantastic! Dining area is adjacent to the bar - you can linger as long as you like. The pool is also divine!

Absolutely nothing! Such welcoming hosts and staff. The Art Deco building itself, and all the decorative features of that era are a feast for your eyes! Colours pop, differing environments are cleverly separated by internal gardens, and the staff couldn't be more helpful. Make time to just to experience the hotel itself. The bar is a knockout and the drinks are fabulous - alcoholic and non-alcoholic.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ We had a wonderful stay at this hotel in Kampot. The building is a beautifully restored 1920s cinema that has been transformed into a charming hostel/hotel. The atmosphere is unique, and every detail has been thoughtfully designed. Both the lobby and the rooms are full of character and make this a very special place to stay. What really stood out was the staff. Everyone was genuinely warm, welcoming and helpful—it never felt forced, just sincere hospitality. If you're looking for a place with character, a great atmosphere and truly friendly people, this is definitely the place to stay in Kampot. Highly recommended!

A lovely place to stay, comfy bed and a lovely room and amenities. The staff were lovely, friendly and caring. The hotel had a lovely ambience to it and I highly recommend if you are heading to Kampot. A bonus also is the eco-friendly additions to the rooms and facilities.

We had a wonderful stay at The Old Cinema. The hotel is full of character, with beautiful vintage décor and a relaxed atmosphere. Our room was clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, always happy to help and offer local recommendations. The location is perfect—easy to walk to the river, restaurants, cafés, and the night market. The breakfast was delicious, we loved the dumpling soup. Everything about our stay exceeded our expectations. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend The Old Cinema to anyone visiting Kampot.

A gem of a hotel nestled in the heart of beautiful, quirky and charming Kampot. The property is restored with great flair to capture the feel of a golden age that has passed. The vibrant colours, greenery and creative decor are so inviting it is hard to leave the hotel. Downstairs there is a great restaurant and bar along with the very welcome swimming pool. The rooms were well appointed and comfortable with cute little balconies facing the lush greenery, which fills the void in the middle of the hotel. The staff are welcoming and fun. Their energy creates a convivial atmistshere, making the place such a cool place to stay.

The hotel was amazing and exceeded our expectations. They have a TukTuk contact who is amazing, San. He will take you around Kampot and Kep, and he was very informative and knowledgeable about local history. 10/10 would recommend his services and the hotel to anyone.

Exquisite hotel. Incredibly friendly and personable staff. Lovely facilities - there was nothing quite like the afternoon gin club in the beautiful restaurant surrounded by luscious plants as the rain is falling into the pool and garden. With our rate we received breakfast included each day, and it was hands down the best hotel breakfast we had throughout our trip in Cambodia Laos. I genuinely looked forward to it every morning. Hotel is very centrally located and a very short walk to all the main restaurants, markets, cafe's, the river etc. Rooms are modestly sized but very nicely appointed. I love the tropical art deco theme being carried throughout the hotel. This hotel felt like our sanctuary during our time in Kampot. It is probably the first hotel bar where I've generally wanted to linger and while away the evening as the space and staff were so charming. Highly recommend.

And the tours arranged by the hotel were exceptional. I would visit Kampot again just to have another spell in this wonderful hotel ❤️

My only room for improvement was better pool maintenance, it was a little dirty but other than that an amazing experience.

Goede ligging tov rivier en restaurantjes maar het eigen restaurant is zeker ook de moeite waard. Erg lekker ontbijt en ook genoten van het avondeten en de Kampot hapjesplank.

An absolutely gorgeous hotel. So classic, it felt like being in Grand Hotel (1932), but also had a very comfortable and relaxed atmosphere. The staff are really kind and helpful, the food is delicious, and the pool offers such a refreshing respite to the sometimes oppressive heat of outside. The rooms are spacious, and the beds are huge and very comfortable. Perfect after an overnight bus ride. (They were also very accommodating regarding early check in - we felt very well taken of.) Would very happily stay here again. Was like a dream!

A fantastic stay at the Hotel Old Cinema. We liked it so much we extended our stay twice! The owners have lovingly restored and renovated this beautiful art deco building to create a luxurious and welcoming space. The swimming pool was a peaceful place to relax away from the bustle of Kampot. The bar was very well stocked, the bar staff, knowledgeable and attentive, Pov in particular. The food served in the hotel from breakfast to dinner was by far the best food we sampled in Kampot and well worthy of its five star reviews. The hotel staff helped organise drivers and trips during our five days in the area. Kayaking, Pepper farms, crab markets, restaurants, and more. Gilly had exceptional knowledge of the local area and her suggestions ensured that Kampot was one of our favorite places to stay in Southeast Asia.

Staff spoke English well, one was from Englad very helpful and polite Bar looked very nice and quick service- by swimming pool walls adorned by art deco and old cinema posters . Breakfast very nice, healthy good fruit and bacon.Goof help arranging tours and bus trips and locating various stores.( Lemon meringue pie large pieces unbelievable at ince cream and bakery place when available)

Swimming pool could have been cleaner. Nice if there had been an elevator Reception desk often vacant but yelling out for service or ringing the. bell brought fast, timely service

Beautiful boutique style hotel who used local artists for decor and design. A quaint, funky, artsy vibe and gorgeous lush plants in the rooms, balconies, and courtyard. They incorporated the history of the cinema into their style. The staff were absolutely fabulous! Very engaging and informative. Wonderful service all around. There were two adorable kitties who lounged around with us as well! If we were ever in Kampot again, we'd love to go back!

This hotel is truly a special place and definitely stands out. Its location is excellent – very close both to the riverside promenade and the GIANT IBIS bus stop, making it extremely convenient for getting around. The property itself is absolutely beautiful and unique, with stunning decorative details on the doors and beds, all handcrafted by the co-owner, which adds a very personal and artistic touch. The bed was exceptionally comfortable. Breakfast was very good, with à la carte options to choose from. Additionally, the kitchen is outstanding – every single dish I ordered was absolutely delicious and beautifully presented. The quality of the food is truly remarkable. What impressed me the most, however, was the exceptional level of service. The staff delivered an outstanding hospitality experience, making the stay even more memorable.

The only downside was room 102, which is located on the street side. Because of this, it was quite noisy and it was difficult to fully relax.

The breakfast was divine (I had scrambled eggs) and the menu is diverse enough for any taste. The Art-deco decor is classy and top-notch, from plush towels to an amazing mattress, such a comfy sleep for us. We also had a free upgrade. The staff are all amazing, courteous and super hospitable. The bar selection of both drinks and food in the evening is plentiful and the food is freshly made.

Honestly, we LOVED everything about this hotel. A must-stay when you visit Kamport.

We loved the staff, the excellent customer service and hospitality, the food and the amazing kitchen staff, the design and decor of the room, bar, pool and dining area. This is one of the best hotels I’ve stayed in, whilst travelling around SE Asia. It’s a really unique and special place.

We liked the small intimate part of the hotel, pool area and dining area. We loved the tropical feeling the hotel has as it's grest location. The hotel food was really well prepared and fresh. But the one thing we loved the most is the Staff, just absolutely wonderful people. Nothing was a problem for them, best hospitality.

This place is so so cool. Gorgeous space with beautiful art and a really nice garden in the courtyard. Truly everything is great. Breakfast was awesome, the pool is refreshing, the staff is so attentive and eager to help, the bed was comfy and AC worked well, perfect location, 2 friendly cats. We loved it here

The hotel is lovely- the staff are wonderful and the breakfast was amazing. The beds were comfy. We also eat in the restaurant and the food is delicious. They have a happy hour for cocktails and also including a gin club which was very enjoyable.

The old town in which the property is near by is becoming a red light area. There were lots of single white men in the bars and not a lot of couples. We still enjoyed our stay.
