Location
Carpets in the room
Great location
Everything, especially parking, was an additional charge. Parking was very expensive, 60$/ night. Otherwise, a great place
Wonderful central location
The room was very humid and our bedding almost felt wet from it.
Close to the ocean.
Over priced for what you got or really did not get.
everything was easy to get to
wish it had more food options
The location was amazing —so close to the beach and the pool area was awesome to lounge it. It felt family-friendly and we liked having access to a coffee shop and pool bar on site.
Very expensive for very basic room, the windows were unwashed and cloudy looking with ripped screens so there was no view. The overcharged my card for incidentals by a ton of money which makes me loose some trust in practices. I wish breakfast started earlier than 8 am.
Clean oom nice outdoor bar area great location to resturants and Stone Pony
The room was comfortable for our family of 5. We were 1 block from the beach and close to restaurants. Also, we had an issue with our booking and the front desk person was very helpful. He was proactive and an immense help! We appreciated him so much.
We weren't a huge fan of the cafe on the ground floor. It was like a Starbucks but with smaller range of items but as expensive as a sit down restaurant.
Very close to everything in town, 2 minutes to the beach/boardwalk and just a 20 minute walk into town for some fabulous restaurants and nightlife. The pool on site is an additional perk, lounge by the pool with some great bites and refreshing drinks. We stayed here the night of our wedding and love to come back and revisit those memories.

The proximity to the boardwalk is fantastic! The hotel itself is very nice if not a bit dated in the rooms. The staff was friendly and the rooms were clean.
The door to the bathroom in our room was iffy - we almost had to call the front desk as it took a few times to open the door and we thought we’d need maintenance to get out. After the 2nd time that happened, we stopped closing the door all the way
Close to beach and boardwalk
Little more than a motel- no coffee maker in room, no room service, lack of amenities
Location and staff
Nothing
Location was perfect in Asbury park boardwalk & beach.
Restaurant food services same in both locations in hotel & basic.
Location is the best part
Hotel seems to be runned down, hotel room windows have ripped screens and dirty windows, tv didn’t work, no outlets by mirror, hotel pool chairs were so dirty and had holes in them!
The staff were great.
I just think the price is too expensive for what you get. I understand the newer owners are a group from Deal and they over charge
The whole experience was great! Thank you Chett!
the location and cleanliness
when checking in or out a long wait for someone to help with luggage
Great location and nice amenities
The hotel was very clean, the staff was very friendly and the bed was very comfortable. The room we rented also had plenty of space for our whole family!
NA
Ocean front, nice pool atmosphere
Too expensive, parking was separate and it was the most I’ve paid in my life. Also alarm was on for 6am in room and it went off 3 times. It was a bit annoying for a vacation
Fabulous location! Great staff!
Lights in bathrooms were too bright, no magnifying mirrors
The proximity to the beach and the cleanliness of the entire hotel. The service and cheerfulness from the front door attendants. Room was a good size, king bed was comfortable, 2 min walk to the Boardwalk that has 5 or 6 restaurants and some small beach shops. The hotel is also within a 15 minute walk to a host of restaurants and there is ample Uber service in the area too. The coffee shop in the hotel is convenient.
The maid service seem to lack. We almost had to hunt down the maid for service. They only left one towel per person when they did service the room. We didn't have a maid come to room till the third day we were there. The TV in the room was terrible, could hardly watch it. I should have complained but I let it go. The parking situation in Asbury can be quite expensive. It will cost you over $50 per day to park close to the beach Friday-Sun. It is cheaper during the rest of the week. The further away you get the cheaper it is. The Berkely is in the most expensive zone. One block away is the next cheapest zone a real money saver. Download the Asbury parking app before you go and register your vehicle before you travel. I Believe the hotel charges $80 a day to valet your vehicle.
The checkin and check out process is horrible,
Breakfast was basic coffee wasn't so good.
Peter at the pool was super kind and helpful.
Location, pool
Very pricey for very basic, dated rooms.
Great location, clean and comfortable room, housekeeping and valet staff were good
No amenities— no free breakfast, parking expensive, no towels for the beach, no beach passes, nothing
The staff was friendly and accommodating. The pool area was nice.
Breakfast was very limited.
Huge Hotel, super nice staff
I checked into this hotel with my family and my 20-pound French Bulldog service dog for a three-night stay. We were initially placed in a beautiful beachfront room on the 8th floor with stunning ocean views. On the second day, I was approached rudely by hotel staff, who accused me of failing to disclose that I had my dog with me. They pressured me to leave my family behind and immediately move to a lower-floor room with no beachfront view, claiming it was the hotel’s mistake because the fourth floor was supposedly the only floor where dogs are permitted. I insisted on getting my family, who were at the pool, before moving. While doing so, we spoke with three other guests traveling with pets who told us they were staying on the 5th, 6th, and 8th floors. This directly contradicted the explanation we were given, as we were the ones being removed from the 8th floor. The entire experience felt deceptive, unprofessional, and disrespectful. Instead of taking responsibility for their error, the hotel attempted to downgrade our accommodations based on an explanation that appeared to be untrue. I would have given zero stars if that were an option because of these shady and misleading practices.
Nice rooms, nice hotel overall, great location.
There was an electricity outage at night from like 9pm to 2am. This is noone's fault but the hotel staff didn't do or communicate anything to us. I sleep with a CPAP (which needs electricity) and the rooms were getting really hot. I spent hours on the phone in my car (which has AC) trying to rebook a hotel room, on the most expensive night of the year (July 4th), after paying $800 a night at the Berkeley. The power came back around 2am. The Berkeley did not appologize or offer any sort of credit or partial refund for this inconvenience. I understand they are not in control of electricity outage, but they are in control of how they manage an unpredictable event. At $800 a night that night, I expect at least a "we're sorry" (and kind of expect some credit back). If you can't provide an outstanding service, you shouldn't be practicing these kind of prices.
Fantastic location just over the road from the beach/boardwalk. Staff were very friendly and helpful.
Valet parking is expensive ! There is on street parking nearby, ranging from $1-$3 an hour depending which zone you park in and you can park all the time as long as you pay (no need to move your car etc). This on street parking was more than 50% cheaper than the valet parking. The pool area was overcrowded, but it is summer. Poolside cocktails were very average.
Everything at the hotel was excellent. We arrived early and our room was wet ready which was really convenient. The staff was completely professional and accommodating. Highly recommend recommended!!!
Location and amenities were great! Staff helpful and friendly! Unfortunately, pool was closed all day Saturday for private event. Will be back.
Beautiful Hotel, Friendly Staff Good Location, Comfortable Rooms 10of10
Great location right at the beach. Clean room, friendly and well trained staff. We were there for a family reunion. We stayed there one year ago and liked it enough to return. We like the open lobby with lots of places to sit and hang out. Also the pool. The food in the hotel—either at the place off the lobby or poolside—is not cheap, but is prepared to a very high standard and big portions. My wife and I split a small pizza for lunch at poolside. It was $20 but was really good and so big the two of us could not finish it. The sandwiches come with excellent chips that are too numerous to finish. Same with the breakfast sandwich—not cheap but huge and delicious. Overall the hotel is not cheap but works well for us and we are planning to come back next year with way more family.
Truly enjoyed our visit. Very friendly staff. Beautiful room with great ocean view. Excellent location in the heart of Asbury Park.
Very clean updated rooms with great views. Super friendly staff inside and outside! So happy they restored this beautiful historic hotel.
Le personnel , l’emplacement et la beauté des lieux
2 jours sans faire la chambre malgré carton dans la porte. Pas de service de lavage de disponible et pas de micro-ondes.
Location
All the surprise additions to the bill upon checkout, many surprises Also, if you wanted a lounge chair with any cushion, you had to rent it. At the pool. And there were most days never enough of the ones without cushions. Definitely nickel and dime everything No coffee maker or microwave room was a disappointment
Good location by the beach friendly helpful staff.
Noisy location at night as next to a restaurant that had late closing at 2am.
Booked a room because we were seeing a show nearby. The show was canceled because of a storm that was scheduled to hit the area with high winds, flooding, and even a tornado watch. The show was rescheduled from 7/18 to 7/19. We called to cancel and they told us, since you booked it through a third party- you have to talk to them. They tried to help, but they told us that in order to get a refund- we would have had to cancel by 7/9/26. Why would we cancel then? The storm changed our plans on the 17th. Spoke to the front desk and they were rude. Asked to speak to a supervisor and the person said “ I am the supervisor “. Used to travel to Asbury Park and stay in this hotel. Never again- $670 for nothing!
Location and staff were amazing!
The price for parking is insane, even for s beachfront property. Also, the cafe didn't open until 8:30am, so if you're an early riser, you have to go off property for breakfast.
Spacious room and very clean. Very accessible for the elderly (travelled with my 92 yo mom). Lots of convenient amenities within the hotel (cafe, shop, outdoor eating).
the toast with Nutella and strawberry and toast with honey and (cheese?) was very poorly made. these are simple treats that can be made more appetizing by one simple thing - using better bread and spreading it more carefully.
No parking available
Slow, lousy, dirty, money hungry!
They took money for everything!!! No client service, nothing!!!
Our stay at the Berkeley hotel was perfect! The room was spacious, bright, clean, and quiet, everything I would want from a hotel room. The staff were kind and welcoming. Lastly, the location was AMAZING, directly across the street from the boardwalk filled with lots of options for coffee, food, bars, and treats. Rentals are available at the beach for umbrellas and loungers ($15 each) and in my opinion completely worth it to not have to carry the necessities in the summer heat and humidity. Would highly recommend this hotel and area if you are looking for a vacation at the Jersey shore. Its close enough to the action that you don't need to drive around after you've arrived at the hotel but still provides a quiet retreat from the busy boardwalk, lively paramount center, and live (loud) performances at the Stony Pony.
The parking is expensive! The location is great! For the value per night, parking should be included. Valet staff and all other staff was pleasant.
Parking fees
Location to beach.
Outdated. AC was not working in room. Not super clean. No clear communication between staff members.
Location was excellent and staff were kind. We were greeted immediately upon dropping off our car at the valet and they were helpful. Front desk staff were also pleasant.
The elevators are incredibly slow. We ended up taking the stairs because waiting was taking much too long. The rooms were clean but outdated and when we arrived the AC was set too high so the room was quite warm. You're 100% paying for the location and the fact that Asbury doesn't have any other hotels in the area and it's not worth it. I don't think we should pay for valet when it's at least $400 for a room
Overall, our family enjoyed the hotel. The property is elegant, the facilities are spotless, and the staff was friendly. We loved the pool area the most. There were food and drinks available along with a DJ which made it a bit lively.
The room was not prepped accordingly but addressed immediately after we brough it to the staff's attention. There was no conditioner in the room. Not enough bath towels for 4 people The tissue box had two sheets remaining when we went to use it The phone was not functioning. Thus, we had to go down to the lobby to ask for the missing items so that we could get ready in time. The next day the clock alarm went off at 5am. Very unexpected as we did not set the clock and was hoping to sleep in. Housekeeping should make it a habit to check and reset the clocks to avoid this mishap in the future. Parking at hotel was very pricey.
Like how clean Hotel is it and pool staff was amazing Petar was so helpful to accommodate us because was so busy because of the July 4th we had amazing time Thank you
Only thing what we didn't like hotel went out of power the night of July 4th for couple of hours checking out in the morning nobody said anything to us to be more professional about power, things happen thats normal but I have 5 years old kid who was scared because of people was yelling outside the rooms i stayed here multiple times but could be more managed beside that everything was very nice we had amazing weekend.
Near to beach
I was booked for ocean front room and it was denied even after showing booking.com booking and details. Even booking.com was not helping and nothing was done
The hotel is very close to the beach. If the beach and boardwalk is your goal, this hotel is as close as you can get.
A laundry list of issues: - Parking is not available. Street parking is almost never free and if you do acquire it several blocks away, you must pay each day. Alternatively valet is available but also very expensive. You would think after paying so much for a mediocre room, parking would be smooth. Nope. - Very poor service. I called room service only once during my stay and requested a single water bottle, only to be told they cannot accommodate and I must come down to get it. Operator was very rude and complaining about his busy day, when I the customer just wanted a simple task done. - Elevators were extremely busy. It took 20-30 minutes each time to grab one to go down. If I was forced to stay here again I would only use the stairs. One elevator also broke with only 2 operating for the entire building. The last day I was unable to grab a since elevator. I had to carry luggage over and over down 4 stories. - Pool area was very dirty. The open bed areas by the pool where a family can stay were only for reservation at $100 each. Again after paying over $500 per night, you would think a simple relaxing seat by the pool would be possible. Nope, think again. - Power went out in the night due to a storm. It became very hot as AC did not work and the entire night was spent in the hot darkness. No accommodation or refund was given. - Expect to pay a lot more than just the booking price as parking, pool seating, and much more will be costly. Be prepared for poor service and lots of walking up and down stairs.
Location and staff.
All went well.
Proximity to the boardwalk and beach. Clean. Very friendly staff.
Guest parking costs $80 per day. The pool facilities cannot accommodate ALL the guests, even at 50% capacity. The rooftop bar requires you to pay $50 for a meal, without any drinks.
Central location, good room
Morning breakfast set up limited. A little noisy at front of hotel until midnight.
Gute Lage
Völlig heruntergekommenes Zimmer. Preis/Leistung ungenügend
Location, quality of facility and staff
On site restaurant had limited choices on a weekday
The pool was nice
No breakfast. No parking. Everything you did required a tip.
Great location and had a lot to offer.
1. Parking is terrible. You are already paying a premium fee to stay there and then to add on an additional $90 a day for valet or find street parking which was a headache but worth it!! 2. Hidden fee for a “resort fee” again for what? I’m already paying a premium fee for the room and now paying for parking AND NOW a resort fee. Ridiculous. Too bad for both of these disappointing problems because the hotel was great and the staff was lovely.
Our room was dirty and items belonging to the previous guests were still in the room. Customer service was slow when we complained to the front desk. The place feels old and dated with a cheap face lift. To top it off valet parking is $90 per night. 5 star pricing - 1 star experience
The staff was very friendly.m and accommodating
location, proximity
like the history'.. like the ocean front
CUIDADO CON APARCAR EN LA AVENIDA DELANTE DE LA ENTRADA DEL HTEL, ES ZONA DE PAGO
Excellent property…. Love everything about it
Wish they included parking or had reserved street parking
Great Location-walked everywhere Loved the room, breakfast & Pool was fantastic!
Parking $75 to $100 not good! Parking should be included with your room
Accessibility to the boardwalk and the ocean, close proximity to everything.
Close to the festival
Wasn’t told I needed to use my keycard to access my floor. The ice machine was empty frequently. No information in the room on anything. Nothing on what was available at the hotel ie restaurants, bars, gym, pool, laundry facilities or how to get room service. Sharing toiletries from a bottle not the best idea with RSV, Covid and other germs.
Close to everything in asbury park
clean and nice. pet friendly
very expensive. very inflexible on late check out
The Berkeley Hotel was excellent. The staff was very helpful and polite. The location was great steps from boardwalk and beach. There is a lot of street parking to avoid the pricey hotel parking. There is an app that you can pay for the whole day. You do not have to pay between 10pm and 5am. We had a double queen room which was very spacious and clean. The bathroom was a little on the small side but worked fine for us. Overall I would definitely stay again.
Location and facilities were nice
We had a dog with us, but he's not a barker. We were staying 2 rooms away from a little dog that barked most of the time it was in the room alone. It's great to be able to bring dogs, which there were plenty - but the barkers owners should be made aware of their dog's anxiety while they are gone. TV did not work and beds are very firm. Otherwise o.k. Weather rained the entire time. Beach should be slightly more dog friendly.
real close to the beach and restaurants.
we enjoyed everything.
I liked the modern interior paired with the historic exterior. Everyone was super friendly and helpful.
I don’t have any complaints.
I love the architecture and the size of the rooms Location is prime
I have no complaints just a recommendation that the use of bathmat in tub would be helpful in entering and leaving the shower or bars to prevent slipping
Location and cleanliness.
I was very disappointed in the room and price. I was there for an overnight. We had a wedding close by. The nerve to charge $341 per night. Room had dirty windows and curtains. Curtains were also ripped! Location was good. I would not recommend this hotel!
Mooi schoon en hele leuke bediening ook perfecte locatie.
Niets
Sean at the front desk was very nice and professional however, the following morning I went down to heat up a food I found out thehotel does not have a microwave. They have one in the back however I told her that I am on a very specific diet and I the food with me that I needed to heat up and she would not let me heat the food up, even though I saw other people heat and stuff up in the morning
Beautiful room and interior of the hotel
Very clean room and friendly staff
No free parking for guests only valet or street parking.
The Berkeley Oceanfront Hotel provided First Class service from arrival, to check-in, during stay, to check-out. I was greeted with a warm and inviting welcome, which made me feel right at home. The room was amazing with a great view. Please kindly let me share the names of those who provided “Above and Beyond” exceptional service throughout my stay, for which I say again: Thank you and Muchísimas gracias! *Juan (Bellman) *Rosie (Front Desk) *Meghan (Sales Manager) *Juana (Housekeeper) *Tessa (On-site Store)
We stayed overnight on 2/7 (room 507). It was a terrible experience. We left our luggage in the room and went out to dinner and a show. When we came back late that night we discovered that the bathroom door was closed because cold air was blowing in thru the cracks in the window insulation. So cold (<20 degrees) that the shower and toilet were unusable. My wife even tried to heat the toilet seat with a hair dryer. To make matter worse, the TV was inoperable ("Weak Signal" Error). We were also told that breakfast would be available at 8 am only to find it wasn't. So we had a room, no toilet, no shower, no TV & no breakfast. I sent this message on their survey and then again on their "Contact Us" function on their website. NO response! Has this place gone that downhill over the years?
