very good hotel and staff we love to stay there again every summer
Best hotel in the world every thing is good and all clean
Perfect place to take a short break from stress and buisness and to escape the daily grind. It's was perfect opportunity to relax in a superb hotel with attentive wonderful staff.
From the moment we arrived, the service was world-class—the staff goes above and beyond to make you feel welcomed and taken care of. The location is unbeatable, offering direct access to a clean, quiet private beach without having to cross any streets. The rooms are beautiful, spacious, and very comfortable, with stunning, serene views. Another major highlight was the food—the breakfast and dinner buffets were absolutely delicious with an amazing variety of fresh options. The spa facilities and pool area are perfect for relaxing. Highly recommended!
The building and facilities are old and need urgent rennovation. We stayed in a Premium room at the Premium floor. The A/C didn't work properly while outside temp. reached 102.2°F (39°C ) and alternaives offered were not better. We have stayed there many times throughout the years and it has't been modernized yet. In addition, the exit to the beach early am was closed and we had to wait 30 min. until somebody came to open it. Only a single working shower at the beach where you need to wash the burning salty water off your body rather quickly. While breakfast is still sumptuous and acceptable, dinner has a lot to improve. It used to be quite satisfactory in the past with at least few dishes for the more discerning guests. It became quite mediocre and requires improvement. Seating is rather crowded and noisy.
Excellent!!!!!!!!!! Especially alona the manager helped me so much and was so kind!
The room we received was very outdated, with parquet coming off the floor and a view over the air conditioning system of the building. From a seated position you could barely see out of the window. We found an unending supply of ants in the room: they did come quite quickly to take care of it, but the room was left with a strong smell of ants killer spray that hurt the eyes. The food was plentiful but average. The only positive experience was the spa, with excellent massages, and the access to the beach. My advice would be: sleep somewhere else, and if you can spend the day there to enjoy the facilities.
Amazing food, a clean and well-maintained hotel, and direct access to the beach from the property. The room with a private pool is perfect for a relaxing weekend. I would definitely stay here again.
Herods Hotel is a beautiful hotel with excellent service, clean and lovely rooms, and very good food. The spa is wonderful and the massages are excellent. I highly recommend Herods Hotel!!!
Exelent location, private Seashore. Clean nice rooms.
I stayed at Herods Dead Sea in 2019 and I really liked it. It is right on the beach. The food was excellent. The rooms were very clean and the pool area was very nice. I visited again in February and I was very shocked. The pool area needs maintenance. The chairs and sun beds look very old and not clean. The metal parts are rusty. The food was very disappointing. The tables in the dining room were sticky. The food was not well cooked. The meat had no flavor. The rooms also need renovation. The corridor carpet looks old and dirty. The bed covers and curtains are dirty and have holes. The lobby still looks good. I give this hotel three stars. It does not deserve more. The pool is bad the food is bad and the rooms need full renovation. If they want to be a four star hotel they must improve.
Great facilities, kind staff, great food. Overall excellent experience
Location - direct reach to the Dead sea semi-privet beach, equipt with chairs, shade and lifeguards, great breakfast, we stayed at the executive rooms -they have a renovated buthroom, but without a balcony. At the hotel There are :salt water warm covered pool , a large open pool and a direct reach to the beach
I had a 4 night stay and enjoyed it very much The food was tasty, the staff were lovely especially in the dining room and the pool area was superb
Dirty, old. The ratio it too expensive according to the poor facilities
DONT STAY AT THIS HOTEL!!! The worst service ever. Not client facing at all. Treated the families if 2 soldiers, who did over 400 !!! Says reserve duty each !!! With the worst way, and it resulted of us camcelkong all 3 rooms and going back home. Especially worst was the CEO Reuma Lugaxu and the reception manager Nina Ohana. Because if the 2 I would recommend to attend this hotel ever! Went to Herber Samuel which was amazing.
Every time I visit, it just feels like coming home. The service here is next level – from the housekeeping team keeping everything totally spotless, to the amazing girls at reception: Yulia, Hadar, and Natalia. They always welcome me with the biggest smiles and so much warmth. A massive shoutout to Alona, the evening manager. Her personal touch and how much she genuinely cares is so rare and really makes the whole trip. Thanks for a stay with real soul, can't wait for next time!
My partner and I had a wonderful stay at Herods Dead Sea, and it was truly an unforgettable experience. From the moment we arrived, we felt welcomed by the warm and professional staff. The service was excellent and always attentive to our needs. The spa was amazing, relaxing, and very well maintained, providing the perfect place to unwind. The private beach was quiet, clean, and peaceful, ideal for enjoying the unique atmosphere of the Dead Sea. The food was varied, fresh, and delicious, with many options every day. Everything was perfect, and we will definitely return in the future.
Just returned from a 3-night stay at herods and couldn't be happier. The staff was warm and welcoming from the moment we arrived, particularly Sarah at the front desk who upgraded our room. Our room was spacious, spotless, and had a lovely view of the city. The location is perfect, within walking distance to all major attractions and great restaurants. The breakfast buffet was fantastic, offering both local and international options. A true sample of excellent hospitality—we will definitely be back
Wonderful stay at the hotel . Best breakfast and dinner i have ever ate I recommend it for everyone to try this hotel its the best !!!
Best hotel and best serivice i have ever seen i like it and my family loved the location of the hotel and staff are the best !!!
Great hotel, excellent food, great rooms and reception service, and overall great. A fun hotel to be in.,....,,........,.............
Thank you for alona for her best service with very pleasure to stay in this hotel for sure I will come back in a future trip.
It was so nice to get the best service and relaxing I did enjoy my time with my family and my friends.. I will visiting it agine
Special place
Me and my wife went into vacation on this hotel. Once we got inside the smell of the hotel was bad. We got inside the room and the room was full of smell cigarette smokes. We barely could stand standing in the room. We paid extra money to get a room with the balcony in floor 2 to 6 the bathroom wasn’t clean as well and water was powering outside the shower glasses since the glasses weren’t properly installed the water filled out the room. at the pool, The bad smell was always, and the floor wasn’t clean . returning to the room we asked for a king size bed, and we got two separate beds that were brought close to each other. through the whole night The beds were separated, and we didn’t have a good sleep. The hotel is rated as five stars When in my experience, it deserves two stars. I am not recommending this hotel to anyone and I am not coming back.
Very very bad hotel Not clean, smell of cigarettes, got two beds instead of king size, turrned of AC after a large group of people checked out and on top of all this, water from the shower fill the room since water was coming from under the glass
We booked the president suite Which is a lot more expensive than any other room or suite Big disappointment from the suite Air conditioning did not work when we arrived It was fiz after two hours And after fixed it was very very noisy The dead sea is extremely hot weather you expect the air condition to be perfect. They did not renew water or fruits as promised. The other part of hotel services were good spa food swimming pool.
We came with my children to a vacation in the herods hotel all the workers was very nice the food was delicious thank you so much
The hotel offers a pleasant stay with clean, well-equipped rooms and friendly, helpful staff. The breakfast buffet is extensive, and the bar area is a nice spot to relax. While the surrounding area might be a bit scruffy, the hotel itself is comfortable and provides good value for the price. The location is convenient, with restaurants and bars within a short walk. Specifically, the room was spacious and well-decorated, with comfortable bedding and thoughtful amenities like a water boiler and safe. The reception staff were particularly efficient and obliging, even accommodating a late check-out request. The hotel also boasts a rooftop pool and a games room, adding to the overall positive experience. The only minor drawback is the somewhat quiet bar area, but the prices are reasonable. Overall, the hotel provides a comfortable and enjoyable stay, making it a good choice for those seeking a balance of value and convenience
its perfect place with clean rooms profchinol stuuf food view good maneger silence place with good service clean swimmind pool and clean beach
Very old hotel and everything feel very used. Terrible noisy music at the pool. The stuff was good and nice.
Disappointing experience. Rude, unhelpful staff. Furniture old and worn, A/C barely cool the room. Amenities had weird hours and closed early. Ripped carpets, dirty curtains and walls. At the bar, a guest was told to pay for a peppermint tea bag—or bring one from her room! Security wouldn’t let me take the luggage cart upstairs, claiming he’d have to retrieve it himself. Lifeguard cleared the pool at 4:45 though it closes at 5, rushing guests everybody out, including elderly people that I felt sad for them. Zero hospitality. Definitely not worth the positive reviews. I won’t be back.
Very good
Nice place, good and plenty of food. Pools are well kept. Rooms. Halls are very dated Staff is friendly
This is a property which is tired and needs a face lift. There are no toilets at pool level and our friend who used a mobility scooter was unable to access the pool as there were no ramps. On the other hand the food was outstanding and the staff were lovely. We would go again
The gate from the beach is closed a little earlier than announced.
I stayed at this hotel with my wife to celebrate her birthday. Unfortunately, we found ourselves in what felt more like a mid-level hotel or even a hostel, rather than the luxurious experience that was advertised. The price was reasonable, and we did receive an upgrade – though it seemed more like a result of other rooms being under renovation rather than a special gesture. The food was a highlight of the stay. There was a good variety, and the quality was excellent. However, not all the dishes on the tables were as clean as you’d expect from a hotel claiming to be high-end. The spa experience was just okay. It was fully booked, and we were only able to schedule two treatments at less-than-ideal times. While we appreciated being accommodated, it didn’t feel like the staff made an effort to help us find something better. Overall, it was not the experience we were hoping for, and we likely won’t be returning to this hotel.
A perfect retreat by the Dead Sea with direct access to its waters. Warm, attentive staff, a stunning pool, and delicious Mediterranean cuisine make it ideal for relaxation and rejuvenation. Truly unforgettable thank you very much will come backe
A perfect hotel at the Dead Sea: a pool with stunning views, a delicious restaurant, an elegant bar, and a rejuvenating spa. Exceptional service and magical sunsets. Ideal for relaxing and unwinding, thanks so much for the experience and the nice service with all of us.
No Jacuzzi and no GYM! they say it is clear on their website but we missed it twice and according to the hotel manager- it is the customer responsibility to ask! please ask! so this is my review after expressing it also to the hotel management : 1. Service Indifference at Check-in: Upon arrival, despite recent surgery and explicit need for assistance, your staff at the entrance refused to help with our luggage or allocate a parking space, claiming it was fully occupied. We were forced to park several times in paid zones, far from the hotel. 2. Misrepresentation of Facilities: Before our arrival, we were assured by your reception representative that the hotel had a heated pool. Regrettably, the pool was cold. Additionally, both the jacuzzi and the fitness center, which we were looking forward to using, have not been operational for several months, a fact we were not made aware of until our arrival. 3. Poor Maintenance and Hygiene: The spa area, especially the salt pool, was in a state of disrepair with constant clogs in the showers used by guests after the salt treatments, rendering them dirty and blocked. 4. Disappointment with Hotel Meals: The evening meals were highly disappointing; the food was either undercooked, overcooked, bland, and lacked seasoning. It was evident that there was no significant effort from the hotel’s chef in preparing the meals. 5. Mismanagement of Alternative Arrangements: When directed to the Leonardo Club due to the non-operational jacuzzi, we encountered further humiliation. The guards there rudely dismissed us, stating we were not their responsibility and advised us to go to Leonardo Plaza instead. 6. Confusion and Inconsistent Information: On one occasion, despite previously bringing a floating pillow that does not take up any space and cannot be considered a mattress, I was incorrectly informed by a staff member who could not read Hebrew that bringing mattresses was prohibited – a mistake that led to me being escorted out by security personnel, adding to our distress. Additionally, it is concerning that none of the staff at the salt pool was attentive to the guests inside the pool, neither acting as lifeguards nor as maintenance personnel, which is critical given the ongoing issue with clogged showers. The accumulation of these issues not only caused significant inconvenience but also indicated a serious decline in service quality, facility maintenance, and overall guest management at your hotel.
We arriva to Israele and disaid to stato in your hotel its the best divisione evrithing and every one amazing the spa is the best the Ford gratis all triste and fresh the rom vero comfterbol the hotel neear to the sea thank you will hoop to visit you again
We had a great experience. The stuff was kind and the access to the beach was phenomenal.
Everything was great except when we arrived we had to pay 400 nis for taxes and we didn’t know about it when we booked our hotel
Staff, from reception to bar, not nice, maid was great
Cute room with semi private pool. The private beach was nice. Food was good. Highlight was the sulfar pool. Did have an extra fee of 60nis though. 4 electric car chargers on premesis. Beautifully redone in the lobby.
The staff at Herods ( Dead Sea Israel) were the true stars of the show. From the moment I arrived, I was greeted with genuine warmth and professionalism. Receptionist was very thoughtful and helpful.housekeeping was attentive to request. They truly went above and beyond to make my stay feel personalized and special.
Easy access to the public beach which was very nice. Orange juice at breakfast was excellent.
Nina who was running the hotel was so kind and accommodating… the hotel is beautiful, good people and clean…
In November 2022, the desk receptionist was personable. Also, there was mud in each room and the room air conditioners worked all the time. Last week, it was on Day 2 that a technician explained that they automatically shut off when the door opens/closes. Surprise innovation? In extreme heat, our room was very hot upon our return from various activities. Also, we were required to purchase mud from a retailer on Level 1-, who tried to push products on us (guaranteed to make me look young again!!!) and became annoying each time we passed her store. However, I certainly would return to Herod's. It's first rate - and Adam, a receptionist, was outstanding. Art Fredman
The hotel is simple and okay
It’s a nice average hotel, but needs a lot of cosmetic upgrades
It's on the beach
Just great!
Our stay was short, but great. Nice breakfast
Very good and comfortable. Staff could be a bit more attentive but was nice overall
beach is amazing as well as the pools but the hotel need to be refurbished in order to call it a 5 star. at the moment I wont give it more than 3 stars.
This is an amazing place to stay at when visiting the Dead Sea. Beautiful beach, swimming pool, and delicious food options.
The hotel is very nice, they have their own beach which is amazing. The property is clean. The staff at the reception was very friendly and helpful. The only concern was a bit of a mess during breakfast. Some of the staff don't seem to speak neither English nor Hebrew and as the result gave unhelpful or incorrect answers. Other than that we've enjoyed our stay and would like to come back again. BTW, the Expedia's note that the price is including all the fees and taxes was incorrect.
Very clean, large rooms, amazing food and service, nightly entertainment, overall great relaxing atmosphere. Thank you !
The Hotel has seen better days. The property is not well kept. Dirty. The maintenance of common areas is lacking and the facilities are outdated
Very bad hotel. Old, shabby rooms in need of refurbishment. Ham staff. Upon check-in, they issued a paper that says that the check-out before 14:00. Etc. Already at 12:00 they began to continuously ring and break on the door demanding to immediately vacate the room. Never stay at this hotel.
Hotel is excellent. Great breakfast and dinner. Great amenities and staff. However, booking through expedia, instead of directly through the hotel, made it near impossible for hotel staff to help with reservation.
A typically Israeli overpriced hotel which needs a complete overhaul. However the room was comfortable the food very good and we enjoyed our stay
In my life with all my traveling I never never enjoyed the FOOD so much , and I love food And that food was incredible amazing taste Be there soon again ❤️
This hotel advertised as five stars. I would give it solid three stars. It is old, rooms are small, bathrooms are very small. However, considering what's around it is one of the best choices.
The general condition of the hotel was poor, alot of rust in the bathroom and in the sa facility, the divice that helps the dissabled people to get into to solt pool was full of rust and it spilled into the pool, the hotel os very old and not mainteined properly, the paint is pilling of the doors and the walls, there is a smell of moll in the bathroom. It shold be a 2 star hotel. The brekfest was ok and the staff were very plesent!
Great location. However, the maintenance is lacking and everything looks old and worn.
Very good for the price. They are renewing rooms so try to get one that’s been done. We did.. Parking is free if you can find it. Sometimes you wait for a space to open. Huge Israeli breakfast buffet included. Service is fast and friendly.
Had a nice relaxing time
Our hotel stay was pleasant and peacefull. The food was amazing - a huge variety and very tasty. The Dead Sea beach is close by. The only downside is that the shopping center is far and also checkout on Saturdays should be later.
The private beach, facilities, food were all excellent. We’re very glad we stayed at Herods.
Great location and amenities
Nice relaxing stay. Beautiful view from balcony. Nice private beach & indoor pool/spa/massage. Bed was average, but everything else made up for it. Great staff. Amazing large buffet breakfast. Live music & good food in lobby bar. Free parking.
The hotel and the staff are fantastic. The private beach, pool area and spa are really amazing. The staff at the reception were very friendly, helpful and accommodating. They even called the room soon after checkin to ask if everything was good. Very glad to have picked this hotel for a stay by the Dead Sea. I would highly recommend it.
The staff went above and beyond during our stay. We enjoyed the beautiful property, including indoor jacuzzi, hammocks, private beach access, and many other amenities. The breakfast and dinner buffets were fantastic. We are vegetarians and had plenty to eat. We would definitely stay again!
The entry of the hotel made well, but rooms is dirty and definitely needs updates specially air condition. Need clean mold around the tub. Not enough parking space. The gym equipment is very old small and dirty.
Liked: food, shower water pressure Hated: not 5 star in Western standards, dirty hallway floors, service poor, staff unfriendly and rolls their eyes when you ask something, air vents spew cigarette smoke in the room (we had room 1), hallway fire exit has lock on it, no elevator access to our room, toilet seat damaged, room finish 2 star hotel level, no parking spots on arrival, hot tub very small, staff often does not speak English
The best hotel on Dead Sea.
This property was perfect. Clean rooms, excellent food, facilities in perfect condition. Will certainly use again.
Very good service, clean room, friendly and professional staff. Best service and very unusual for Israel.
The price that I booked includes fees and taxes, but I was required to pay taxes again to the property! (double taxes) Also, The place is old and dirty! And needs restoration!
This place was probably beautiful when it opened but seems to be neglected. The owners obviously don’t invest in upkeep. The pool area looked like a three star motel, cheap chairs, broken sunshades, etc. Paint cracking and peeling in hallways. Rooms were decent but the AC couldn’t keep up with the heat and slept sweating. But - seems like the state of most the hotels in the area according to reviews. Spa looked chaotic, crowded and dirty so we didn’t use. Breakfast was good. Bartenders were friendly. Check in took 30 mins. Parking is chaotic. Glad we stopped at Synergy Spa on drive down which was a nicer experience.
Amazing food, the best Dead Sea experience!
Thisw place is a gem, the ammenities, the comfort of the beach behind, theindoor pool, the outdoor pools, the diner, everyhting about it was amazing, I am definitely coming back.
There were blood stains on the curtains. The food was disgusting in the dining room and overpriced at the “bar” it’s like a scam.
Amazing place, amazing staff.
The room was terrible, the ac insufficient, no parking
Extremely expensive for what you get. Hotel is dated, food is not good and employees are rude.
We booked this hotel because it had direct access to the Dead Sea. This place is so terrible in so many ways I would rather walk miles across the desert to get to the sea than ever stay there again.
Wonderful room with a beautiful view of the sea. Spa services were excellent, food was delicious, and the overall service was extremely helpful, especially at check in when we were able to get an early check in to our room. Will be back, for sure
One of the nicer hotels I've stayed at while at the dead sea. Beach access and facilities are great.
The hotel has a private beach, which means that you don't have to walk out and cross the street to get to the sea. It's just steps from the back of the hotel. There's also a beautiful outdoor pool that is heated. So you can float in the sea and then come back and swim in the pool. The indoor spa has a large salt-water pool that you can float in, if the sea is too cold. The outside of the hotel looks a bit shabby and old fashioned, but the interior of the rooms are very nice and modern.
Staff has no idea what it means to be in the service industry. Five star rating is laughable. Spa receptionist was non-responsive and when she finally did respond she was rude. Lunch boxes we ordered the day before were not ready on time, and after waiting for them to be prepared for half an hour, we had to leave without them, so that we would not miss our scheduled tour.
We had a great weekend at the Dead Sea. Herods was a good choice for us. Great service, front desk was very helpful, free breakfast was delicious, indoor/outdoor pool fantastic! Loved our room view of the Dead Sea. I was worried after reading some of the negative reviews, but they are obviously exaggerated. Herods is a good choice in the Dead Sea area. I would compare it to a mid-range hotel in North America (ex. think Radisson Hotel, Sandman, or Marriott).
Amazing. Roee the manager went out of his way. So do gmal who runs catering dining room. They make you feel at home and a vip.
I injoy the visit in the hotel from all aspects, it is a very good hotel, one of the best in the dead sea, it has SPA with dead sea warm water in door pool, free to all the hotel guests and great outdoor pool. high variety of delicious food in the breakfast, Very kind staff, nice singers at the lobby evening show. The hotel has dead sea great private beach The hotel is not brand new but still a great recommend hotel, I will come back for sure.
Amazing service. Wonderful first class treatment.
The hotel was on the beach and my room faced the water and all the pools
Excellent service, amazing location, great vibe. We'll be back!

Areas to consider
Cleanliness
8.6/10Generally reported as clean and well maintained across multiple reviews, though isolated issues occurred (ants in one room and residual ant-killer smell) which lower the score slightly.
Service
8.6/10Staff and management repeatedly praised as attentive and world-class (specific praise for a manager named Alona); some operational lapses noted (e.g., delayed opening of beach access, slow alternatives for A/C failures).
Location
9.1/10Consistently highlighted as excellent — direct access to a private beach, quiet setting and unbeatable location for Dead Sea visits.
Room Quality
7.3/10Mixed reports: some rooms described as beautiful, spacious and comfortable, while others were outdated (parquet coming off), had ant problems, or experienced A/C failures — indicates uneven room quality and need for renovation.
Amenities
8.6/10Spa, pool areas and private-pool rooms are frequently praised (excellent massages, ideal for relaxation). Some beach facilities (single working shower) and minor operational issues reduce perfection.
Value for Money
8.4/10Not frequently quantified in reviews; overall impression is mixed — high-quality facilities and service but dated rooms and variable dinner quality may temper perceived value.
Food and Beverage
8.3/10Breakfast is often described as sumptuous and varied; dinner quality is mixed with some reviewers calling it mediocre and seating crowded/noisy, while others praise excellent buffets.
Overall Experience
8.3/10Many reviewers describe a wonderful 5-star stay with attentive staff and excellent amenities, though several mention mediocre or disappointing stays due to room condition, A/C or dining issues — overall positive but not flawless.
