Besides the good location this hotel is very dated. Dirt/stains/rust/broken tiles everywhere.
Above all is the very poor food and the disastrous behavior of the front desk and the management.
As mentioned the hotels location is good but there are many hotels nearby which are much better.
I will not return to this hotel.

Reviewed Dec 10, 2025We arrived for a special occasion and felt pampered and treated to a fun all inclusive vacation. To get the most out of the expansive hotel, with pools and spa and gym and beach and kids club etc etc, not to mention the open bar and nightly entertainment, we came early. The hotel was clean and had an open feel to it with gorgeous views of the Dead Sea. We got our rooms in the afternoon and were pleased. The rooms were clean and had a safe, closet area, decent bathroom, tea corner, TV and remote, hairdyer etc , as promised. But who stays in the room here when there is so much to do around the hotel. We saw kids enjoying the kids room, teens enjoying laser tag and the game room, young and old couples walking around and groups playing game.
The food was great. Breakfast was an amazing array of everything one can imagine they want for breakfast. Midweek none of the food seemed old or leftovers.
Lunch and supper were also good, lots of variety.
No one left hungry and its a good thing we arent weighed going in or out.
The little touches really made our visit and vacation unforgettable and we will be coming back.
This is literally a roach motel (2 at front desk upon check in). Booked for a quick night based on reviews it’s a whatever decent hotel. It is NOT anywhere near decent. It’s DISGUSTING.
Checking in was a nightmare, took 40 minutes just to get the room key , with scowling, rude employees.
No towels in the room, had to come back down to get them.
The room was filthy. Stains all over the windows and any surface that you can touch was stained in filthy, oily fingerprints.
The manager is rude and unprofessional, lazy staff and it’s hard to believe this place is in business.
I was extremely disappointed with my stay at Leonardo Club Dead Sea. The hotel has so much potential, but it falls short in almost every aspect.
First, the service was very underwhelming. The staff seemed disinterested and not at all welcoming. It took forever to check in, and when we asked for assistance with a few basic things, the response was slow and unhelpful.
The room was nothing like what I expected. It was outdated, with old furniture and a musty smell that never quite went away. The bathroom had moldy corners and the shower pressure was weak, making it really unpleasant to use.
The food was another huge letdown. The buffet was repetitive, with low-quality ingredients, and it felt like everything had been sitting out for hours. I expected better considering the price I paid for the stay.
The pool area was overcrowded, and there was no space to relax. The beach access was not well-maintained either, and the Dead Sea itself didn’t feel as inviting as I had imagined.
All in all, this was a disappointing experience, and I definitely won’t be coming back. For the price, I expected much better service, quality, and overall experience. I’d recommend looking for other options near the Dead Sea.
Would you like me to adjust anything or add more details?

Horrible Experience at Leonardo Club Dead Sea
I had an absolutely terrible experience at Leonardo Club Dead Sea. From the moment I walked in, I knew I had made a mistake booking this place.
The room was disgusting. The walls were covered in mold, and the smell was unbearable – a mix of dampness and rot. It felt like no one had bothered to clean or maintain the room in years. The entire place was filthy, and the stains on the furniture made it look like it hadn’t been replaced in decades.
The service was an absolute nightmare. The staff was rude, unhelpful, and completely indifferent. When we complained about the state of the room, they barely acknowledged it and did nothing to fix the issues. It was clear that they didn’t care about their guests at all.
The cleanliness was non-existent. The bathroom was dirty, with hairs on the floor and a shower that didn’t work properly. The whole experience felt unsanitary, and I couldn’t wait to leave.
This was one of the worst hotel experiences I've ever had, and I would strongly advise anyone thinking about staying here to look elsewhere. The hotel is a complete disaster – avoid it at all costs!

Want to come to the Dead Sea when in Israel? Do it. Just don’t come to this hotel. The management doesn’t care about their guests. They don’t care about their hotel. They don’t care. Period. The people who work there don’t care either. Check in process is awful - they make you stand in line multiple times and the attitude of front desk is that they are doing you a favor. Asked for a manager and was told he will be back in 5 minutes. 45 minutes later a manager shows up….. Sam was his name? Sitting in a glass office. We had a mixed experience at the Leonardo Club Hotel.
What we liked:
- splendid location, by the sea, rooms with view are recommended
- spacious rooms with balconies
- very comfortable beds
- indoors and outdoors pools, sauna, spa
- bar with free cold beer by the pool
What we liked less
- the food - plenty but lacking diversity and creativity
- too few drinks taps in the restaurant - half of the beer, wine, juice, colas taps seemed to be empty at any moment
- room doors need some maintenance
- poor preparation at arrival - door keys did not work and we had to go down at the reception for activation, tv remote did not work and we had to call a technician
- too few elevators led to congestion and long waits at peak times

Reviewed Jan 1, 2025Concierge Shlomit gave us her personal phone and responded to anything we needed. Her kindness made the hotel feel personal to us and that we were appreciated. All inclusive was nice. I never was able to find the water slides staffed so they were closed three days in a row which the grandkids really wanted to use, and the life guards weren’t paying attention to the kids so watch your kids. But the food was so good and so much value, beds comfortable and supportive. Housekeeping was outstanding and to be along the scenic Dead Sea was a great view and nice walks. Lobby area also comfy. Great value.

Reviewed Dec 19, 2024I was truly puzzled why the reviews of this place were inconsistently either fantastic or horrible…until we experienced it for ourselves. My husband and I chose this hotel for a two-night stay (without kids) as a birthday getaway. We read on the website that we could get lunch before check-in as part of the all-inclusive feature of the hotel, so we timed our driving to get there exactly at 1:30 pm. After asking the security guy where to park, we quickly discovered that he didn’t speak one word of English — odd for a tourist hotel — but we eventually found the parking ourselves and walked right in while he was playing on his phone. I really liked the self-check-in: pay online in advance and then just tell the machine you’ve arrived and they send you a text when your room is ready and the machine spits out your room key. We spent a good 15 minutes after that searching for a working bathroom (and when we did, we found that it had no toilet paper or soap; subsequent visits to the same bathroom throughout our stay consistently revealed the same and proof that it was not cleaned at regular intervals). We walked right into the dining hall for lunch, nobody bothering to check whether we were actually guests of the hotel. Lunch was very basic and mediocre: soup, rolls, chicken, rice, fries, salads, fish, and fruit. The best part was beer and wine on tap, which I could already tell we were going to need copious amounts of in order to survive this vacation. We got a text that our room was ready half an hour before official check-in time, which was good considering they started closing up the dining hall half an hour early, too. We were impressed by the virtual room service accessible on the texts — just press a button, and they’ll bring you more towels or soap, get your room cleaned, even baby care! (I wonder if you can use it to request toilet paper and soap in the lobby bathroom, too…) The room was truly a dump, and they gave us twin beds when we requested a king. In addition, the mirpeset door would not open, so we couldn’t see the view — but it didn’t matter much considering the view was of the roof below us. My husband went down to complain, and to their credit, the hotel workers came quickly to fix the mirpeset door (but the view was even uglier outside than what we could see from the inside) and the bed (by putting a king-sized topper on top of the twin beds). There were no hooks in the bathroom to hang up towels, and we didn’t get hand towels until the second day, plus the hair dryer was broken; the only good thing about the bathroom was fantastic water pressure in the shower (but that clogged the drain). We went for a walk after that — the pool looked nice, though the waterslides only work for a few hours of the day. The Dead Sea is only steps away from the pool exit and the boardwalk goes all the way up to the water, which is nice if you don’t like getting your feet sandy (or salty, as the case may be). No working bathrooms on the beach. We checked out the spa after that — we didn’t do treatments because they were really expensive, but we enjoyed the Dead Sea water pool, the jacuzzi, and the wet and dry saunas. Dinner was definitely better than lunch, but not the best I’ve ever had. My husband reported that the hotel synagogue was nice. He had to work at night, but there was no wifi in the room. In the morning, we realized that I’d left my jacket in the dining hall the night before, but there was no lost & found, and asking at the front desk and dining hall was only met with puzzled looks. The breakfast was pretty standard — most of the offerings weren’t labeled, so we had to guess. After breakfast, we went back to the spa — there really isn’t much else to do here besides water activities (unless you want to pay extra for video games). We noticed that half of the guests were wearing robes, but the hotel really doesn’t make it easy to get one — after asking around in the spa (which, after finding that there were no robes in the rooms, would logically be the next place to look for a robe), they sent us to the reception desk, where they said that housekeeping had the robes and we would have to wait until one was sent to our room. (So why not SAY that on the automated check-in machine, or the texts that offer more towels?!?) We eventually gave up on waiting for a robe (which never arrived) and went to check out the “solarium,” which consisted of a few beach chairs on the roof. Then we went to relax by the pool, which was nice. The workers handed out popsicles to anyone who wanted and went around taking music requests, and there was a snack stand set up in the lobby with cookies, fruit, and drinks (which we noticed had different snacks in the afternoon) — another area nearby has drinks on tap all day and night: beer, wine, coffee, ice coffee, slushies, and soda. For lunch, we had a choice of either pizza served by the pool or going to the dining hall, but that was super crowded with no available tables (much more elaborate than lunch the day before), so we went back to the pizza stand and then to hang out at the beach, which was much more quiet than the pool — there are a lot of chairs and recliners plus a large shaded area by the water. Dinner the second night was great, and in the evening, we randomly got wine and peanuts sent to our room. Breakfast the last morning was good, and we went to the spa and for a walk one more time before checking out. All in all, I wouldn’t say it was all bad, but there were enough unpleasant aspects of this trip that would prevent us from coming here again.

A few days ago I spent a day at the hotel. I will never make a reservation using Xpedia from next time.
1. Sitting at the counter, a lady named "Angel" kept us waiting for an hour. She didn't find a reservation on Xpedia. So, my family didn't make it to time to use the Dead Sea Pool. There was no reward.
Even the male manager couldn't help us. He didn't even apologize.
2. We paid for the hotel expenses including Tex at Xpedia. However, we re-assigned and paid for the Tex.
It gave me the meaning that this happens if I book with Xpedia.
3. I was comforted by a woman who provided guidance and service to our customers. She served us small mackerel towels, drinks, and late check-outs.

Hotel is not the cleanest. Stairs has trash strewn throughout; This trash was not picked up, but was left there for the complete time we stayed there. Our room had carrots on the floor of the bathroom when we entered for the first time. Also there is a very strange sickly smell coming from the bathroom sink drain.
They used queen non-fitted sheet as the bottom sheet on the king bed, so most of the night was sleeping on just the mattress.
The shower does not work properly; one of the shower heads did not work at all; the other one sprayed all over the bathroom. There is also rust on all of the metal in the bathroom. Everything is corroded. And this needs mentioning again, this very strange sickly smell coming from the bathroom sink drain...
The hotel is very crowded, many families and kids; there is a nice-sized pool, and a couple of water slides. However, the water slides are only open a few hours each day. The pool is extremely crowded with kids and adults. There is also a trash/sewage smell near the shallow end of the pool. The hot-tub in the spa area was packed to overflowing.
The exercise room is only open from 8am - 8pm. And only for people over 18 years of age. However, the paper they gave us at arrival stated it opened at 6am, and some of hotel staff said it opened at 6:30am.
This is an all-included hotel. The food is served buffet style. There is a lot of food that they serve, and a lot of options. The food is good quality, not great quality, though.
Lastly, the smoking. It was almost everywhere in this hotel. In the pool area, and in the actual rooms. Our room was right across from a room that constantly had smoke coming out from underneath the door and smelled horrible. As a family of non-smokers, and as a family that goes out of its way to avoid smokers, this was just horrible...
We ended up cutting our stay short one day at this hotel. When I went to the front desk to tell them we were leaving early, I did not expect a refund. But at the very least, I expected the front desk person to ask (a) is everything ok; (b) is there something at the hotel that is causing us to leave early; (c) I am so sorry to hear that you are leaving early. However, the response was only 'OK'...
In the future, we will plan our trip to just stay in Jerusalem, and take a day trip to the Dead Sea without staying in the hotels there.

Reviewed Jul 19, 2024This hotel had many issues throughout our 5 day stay. Most of the staff were impolite and were ready to deny/lie about the issues brought to them. On the first day there was a large water leak outside our room. The whole carpet was wet and this looked like a reoccurring issue as the wall had past water damage. We wanted to change rooms however they said it wasn’t possible. Next issue was the pool from 14:00 on it had a smell of sewage. It was horrible. When we asked the staff what the smell was, they looked at us and said ‘what smell?’ . This was obviously a coverup as everyone was talking about this odor. On the third night of our stay there was a partial power outage for hours. The staff had no answers for us and there were no vouchers or complimentary services to make up for this fact. During meal times there were very long lines for meals and it was as if the staff had never served before. It wasn’t my first time in an all inclusive hotel so I am understanding of waits however this was unbelievable. Sometimes waiting 30 minutes for a dish. Also they claimed they had entertainment however this staff needed to leave to Eilat halfway through our stay. On top of these issues, the hotel was very dirty and in disrepair. I gave it 2 stars because it is so close to the beach. This is the only redeeming quality of this hotel. Do not stay here! You will be disappointed greatly.

The person outside at the podium didn't even get up to help didn't say much except the the door to the hotel wasn't working and we had to use the revolving door while we pushed the baggage cart through. Then when we walked in and finally found the lobby the person at the desk was helping someone (who was not happy) once they finished we waited for her to call us. She didn't. We said something to her and she just said "yes' as if we were interrupting her.
We get our room key and head to our room. You can see that hotel is not being maintained, it was dirty and scuffed up.
We get to our room and it is not ANYTHING like the posted pictures online. The room that we chose was for a family. The room had only one queen bed and a sofa that took sometime to figure out as it was not your typical pull out sofa.
Our room kept losing power throughout the night.
The pool area was also ANYTHING like the pictures. The beautiful pictured cabanas are dirty, broken and put to the side.

Our room wasn't that clean, found hairs in the shower and the toilets were dirty. It says room with balcony, but really it's a 1.5 square meters one. As a couple, we expected a double bed when we booked our superior room, but got 2 twin beds attached together. They seriously think having two Keter chairs in the room makes sense for a hotel?! The food was plentiful and the variety allowed a wide choice.

Reviewed Nov 23, 2019Front doorman always on phone. Very rude. Doesn’t help when you first arrive. Worst front door service I’ve ever had.
English and Spanish are the 2 biggest tourist languages and no one speaks English or Spanish... or they do when they are in front lobby but when they’re not they pretend not to speak English

Reviewed Oct 19, 2019The Dead Sea area is not blessed with the finest hotels in the world. This hotel has potential to be so much more than what it actually is - a mediocre one. It has somewhat decent spa facilities, a nice private beach, and a club for kids, but in needs a gut renovation ASAP.
Some rooms are in ok shape while in some you wouldn’t want to stay in during your vacation. Meals are varying between OK to Not Good and seems like no one in the kitchen really cares too much if foods served cold or just too damn dry. All in all, it’s hard to expect for more from Fattal chain.
Conclusion: This is not your destination for High Quality vacation. Total score. 5.5/10
The level of service is quite low, the staff is poorly trained, at the reception of 3 people only one is ready to help solve the problem . The other 2 just smile and send to wait indefinitely

Reviewed Jun 30, 2019This hotel is fine, but overpriced for the value. The buffet wasn’t great and it was chaotic inside, the drinks were just okay. We were surprised there was no where to sit outside at night and the pool closes at 7.

Reviewed Jun 23, 2019The hotel is hotel for families so it’s a bit crowded. The food at the breakfast, lunch and dinner is fine but could be better. The rooms are a bit old. The positive thing is the area - the hotel is really close to the Dead Sea, only a few seconds by walk. All inclusive hotel so you can get popsicles and drinks at the swimming pool area as long as you want (at nights you can also get alcoholic drinks at the bar for free).

Free parking.
Dead Sea is amazing.
Food is good.
But beware - due to Passower holidays beverages are restricted or not available at all, which was not mentioned during booking. Not so much "all inclusive"!
THE HOTEL WAS HAVING A FACELIFT FOR THE SEASON TO COME. WE RECEIVED A ROOM UPGRADED ON TOP OF THE CONSTRUCTION SITE. SO THE TWO NIGHT OF REST WAS ABSOLUTLY DESTROYED

Reviewed Feb 26, 2019This is an all inclusive hotel. The food is the best part, but the pools are also more than what I expected. Location wise it could not be better. Literally 2 minutes from the shore.
Rooms are not well maintained, they-the rooms- are screaming for an update.
Service is ok, but checkin is abysmally slow.

Check in time and lunch. Lunch finish at 3:00, check in starting from 3 if you staying one night you missing both lunches. Limited access to the beach.
the hotels should be more clean special the pool area
Room condition was not as advertised. Hotel in general is in fairly poor condition and in need of a facelift. Not the place to go if you’re looking to relax as there are tons of families with kids. On a positive note, the hotel’s buffet for breakfast & dinner was amazing.

Reviewed Apr 29, 2018Leonardo Club at the Dead Sea was a terrifying experience. The valet didn't understand that we were trying to park our car, the lobby smelled like a middle school locker room, and there was urine in the stairwell. Why did we use the stairs? Because the elevators were slow and out of order half the time we were there. Dinner was a massive cluster. The only good entree was grilled chicken strips, and everyone was basically fighting over each batch as it came off the grill. All the wine on tap can't make up for the fact that a foul smelling rug rat hotel mascot was constantly trying to hug you in the common areas, and every time you would stand up to get more food they would bus & re-seat your table. God Save Us All... :(

Reviewed Apr 22, 2018Besides Air Canada canceling our flights the first day, and having a struggle to even get to Israel, it was a great experience. We were under the impression that we would get picked up at the airport by a hotel shuttle (which didn't happen) so we had to end up renting a car and driving in the dark 1 hour and 45 minutes in a foreign country in the middle of nowhere. As far as the hotel goes, not many speak English, but we got by okay with that. The food was good, nice pool, good location not to far from a mall that the hotel shuttles you to. (Even though it was full a lot and we ended up walking 45 minutes one way). Staff at hotel friendly, tourists rude. Also, anyone from the US, the outlets are different than ours, so we had to purchase an adapter at the mall to charge our phones and electronics. We also had a hard time finding English speaking tours. That's it in a nutshell.

Reviewed Feb 26, 2018Cons:
Understaffed, mediocre food at best. Took over an hour to get someone to pick up the phone. Hotel is a bit outdated and could use some renovating. Not enough elevators. We didn't use the spa but it was very crowded. You can hear everything in the hallway while inside the rooms.
Overall the hotel is decent but definitely overpriced. If you enjoy unlimited quantities of mediocre food and booze then you will definitely be satisfied. If you don't enjoy the food then you are paying a lot of money for an average hotel with a good location.

Reviewed Oct 27, 2017Accommodating staff, drinks available in various places across all included, liked the room but I changed last minute because I wanted 2 separate beds rather than one big, took them time to arrange the switch, second room smelled terrible from smoke, also the day of checkout there was a blackout for a minute that caused all cards to stop working had to wait in the line to activate only to hear that have to wait another 20 minutes for that which was disappointing since I needed to catch my flight, also found that check in counter is understaffed, but overall was a very nice stay, nice room and balcony to sea and pool, mattress not too comfortable, but still liked the experience, would recommend to book at least for two days to be able to enjoy the sea and All amenities which is best when day is on mostly in early morning and afternoon hours.

Reviewed Sep 18, 2017We were pleased with the hotel. The rooms were clean and spacious. The hotel has a lot of amenities, including free snacks ( Popsicles, pizza, cakes, etc.) and drinks for all. The breakfast and dinner (included in price for free) were plentiful and good. There are shows and activities through the day. If you're coming with kids to the area, I recommend the hotel. If you are without kids, I'd suggest a different hotel. The hotel is very much geared towards families.
