Great bar and restaurant area
Big rooms and lovely cafe area pool and gym are spotless and very friendly staff
Not much left at breakfast even though I was down at 8am all pastries had gone
Very friendly staff
The bed was a bog standard double and the mattress was terrible. Hardly slept at all. Air con didn't work either and we were too hot
The room was very clean 👌
I thought it was over priced compared to the Travel lodge in Hamilton
Very conventiently placed with good parking on site. Not to far (20 minutes by car) from the centre of Glasgow.
Convenient location
Very overpriced

It was very clean and nice and also beautiful location and staff was nice
In the night someone start smoking from guest and the alarm start that ruined our sleep .
Well located good parking very comfortable room !
This property would have received an ‘excellent’ rating all round but the quality of the restaurant food really was below standard. Breakfast ok but evening meals were poorly cooked very sub standard !!
Family room good size with 2 showers in the bathroom! Breakfast good, swimming pool good
Availability of food for dinner - we stated 7 nights and there was lack of options every evening. Slow service at dinner, some staff excellent, others not good. Supplies of tea and coffee lacking - 1 pack of 2 biscuits not enough for 4 people.
Honestly there are some good things about this hotel but the cleaning / poor evening food for coach guests lets it down. The bar area is comfortable and drinks not over priced. First evening we were given dried offerings which were inedible. Breakfast was better and the fresh omelette were delicious our room had to change as issues with toilet and apparently no maintenance on weekend- had to use toilets in reception area they were awful and needed a deep cleaning! Corridors bits of rubbish discarded, in stair wells dirty plates/ cups seem to multiply! I could go on and on - hopefully things will improve with feedback . I would not choose this hotel but as part of coach trip deal had no choice.
Staff were friendly and helpful on the whole. Breakfast was good although the coffee was poor.
Hotel was tired could do with a bit of a makeover. Room was large but with stained carpets Housekeeping was poor. We were in one day when housekeeper arrived and she couldn't get out quick enough. We went two days with no housekeeping I reported it to reception. The following day they arrived at 17:00 and asked what "what do you want me to do?" On the days they did arrive it was between 15:30 and 16:00. Evening menu was very poor and food was of a bar lunch standard.
Everything
I really didn't expect everything to be so very well considered, presented and stylishly finished. From a real coffee machine and a fridge (with complimentary soft drinks) in the room, beautiful and soft, quality bedding, a n excellent high end bathroom with shower in bath and additional shower, lovely locally produced toiletries, a bath robe and abundant luxury towels, there really was everything that I would expect in a top quality hotel. The leisure facilities were also very well appointed, with complimentary towels, a steam room, sauna and jacuzzi and all in a very pleasant soft lit setting. The staff were lovely, friendly and helpful. The meal was probably just OK but for being included with the hotel booking it was very good value and perfectly tasty enough.
The pool was nice
Having to be at breakfast before 9:30 a.m. was really hard for seniors
The space was massive and access to everything
Nothing
Room have a good size, bed was comfortable, good shower
Could be cleaner, no tea spoons
Nice big room. The staff were very nice.
A dog barking in the morning in one of the rooms which isn’t the staffs issue
We were attending a gig at Hampden Park so it was the perfect location, the reception have a phone to call for a local taxi service which were very reasonable too. Beds were comfy, room was very spacious and friendly staff.
Room size good Reception bar good
Staff bar knowledge not great. Triple room not set up with bed made up. Had to request linen, towels etc
The location was fine.
I took my daughter and a friend off hers and as soon as we got to the hotel I found someone medication on floor behind toilet door luckily my child wa sold enough to not pick up and eat!! Carpet was mankie not even hoovered sofa bed had the springs coming through it and under sofa bed was filthy
I have stayed here many times as it is near to the hospital for visiting. The rooms are ok but need more cleaning done. There are usually cobwebs and dust on lampshades etc. However the bed and pillows are great , really comfy. Lots to choose from. Staff are really good. Not to far to drive for the Hospital. Restaurant for lunch and dinner is good with plenty on the menu.
The potato scones are deep fried and not nice at breakfast but everything else is fine. The rooms are ok but need more cleaning done. There are usually cobwebs and dust on lampshades etc.
We booked a premium family room for a two-night stay and had a very disappointing experience. Our room’s climate control was broken from the moment we arrived, with a fault indicator displayed on the unit. Despite reporting it immediately, the only solution offered was a couple of small desk fans. We were told there were no alternative rooms available. The room was hot and stuffy with no fresh air. The only option was to leave the window open, but it let in constant traffic noise from the nearby motorway, surrounding roads and the hotel car park. As a result, my family and I got virtually no sleep. At around 4:00 a.m., after hours without sleep, I returned to reception. The night receptionist was very helpful and found another room after all, contradicting what we had been told earlier. I managed to get only a couple of hours’ sleep, while the rest of my family remained in the original room because I did not want to wake them at 5:00 a.m. after they had finally managed to fall asleep. There were also stained bed sheets that had to be replaced, an empty soap dispenser, and a broken bathroom door handle. To the hotel’s credit, we were moved to yet another room with working climate control the following day, complimentary breakfast was provided, and a 20% refund was offered. However, this did not make up for losing an entire night’s sleep or the way the situation was initially handled. The monetary compensation also fell well short of reflecting the stress, inconvenience and fatigue caused by losing an entire night’s sleep and much of the following day. If a functioning climate control system and a good night’s sleep are important to you, I would think carefully before booking this hotel. The failure to resolve such a fundamental issue, despite repeated requests for assistance, left us with one of the most disappointing hotel stays we have experienced. We expected much better from Holiday Inn.
Location was good thats why we booked
Room unavailable when we arrived. We were going to a concert and allowed to leave bags as room was being cleaned. After concert it was about midnight we were told no room was available and they had double booked. Explained we couldnt drive home that late and had paid for a room. Someone eventually found us a room to slerp in which was like a store room with a double bed. That was not good as we had booked a twin room. Had to sleep with my daughter who is 23. Not appropriate but we were so tired.
The staff, location and facilities.
The bar closes too early 😆. Our room needed a bit of tlc.
Staff were polite.
The place is run down, not like the photographs. The staff are friendly. The surfaces in many areas are dirty with grim, including where you eat, toilets and general rooms. The hotel primarily caters for engineering workers which is why the car park was full of large transits and commercial vehicles. Requested verbally and through booking.com for invoices and still not received.
Staff were very polite.
Only advised of swimming pool being out of order on arrival. Evening meal was clearly just a heat me up and really bad.
Facilities, large rooms, iron and ironing board in room
We had an electric hire car and the hotel did did not have a charging station for vehicles
It was ideally located for what I needed Great breakfast and value for money
Looking a bit tired Swimming pool out of order Had to get sofa bed made up then had to call back again to get pillows
Pro's - nice staff, good pool, good breakfast. Negatives. Booked room for two adults and 7 year old child at least one month ago.Arrived exhausted after day at M & D's to find no bed made up for child and no towels for her either. It was rectified. But they took pillow from standard bed instead of getting one for child. Had to go to reception again. These small niggles detract from 4 star status. Next item did not please me. Picked a deal of fish and chips with pint for 19.95. It was okay if rather small fish. As i was sitting after paying bill I noticed another table get fish and chips. The fish was twice the size (obviously not on the deal) I hate these deals like groupon, itson etc where you think you save money such as 50% on curry but portion is 50%. That is no saving. The hotel website should really say reduced size (senior) fish and chips in 19.95 deal. In contrast a st andrews pub fish and chips 1.50 less was sized as expected. I dont want a response saying we look forward to you having a nicer experience next time. That cut and paste response to other negative reviews is worn out. Photo of ihg and proper fish and chips in st andrews.
Not very clean,
That they had a swimming pool ,sauna and steam room
Room phone didnt work Remotes not working Room absolutley freezing Took there time to fix things Not the cleaniest looking rooms Shower tray filthy Stains on carpets and chair in room 211 Stains on pillow Barhroom and bedroom needs painted Curtains were filthy also New chairs needed in restaurant
reasonable price
tired in places, mould in swimming pool. not enough attention to the jacuzzi where young tots hover in the water. a safegaurding issue. Management were really good at sorting this out once alerted.
Gluten free options were great. Information provided was excellent and the breakfast host couldn’t have been more helpful.
Convenient, clean , comfortable
A little bit run down .. little cracks in shower tray for example
Good value, friendly staff & good catering
Somewhat tired decor
Staff were very helpful, especially the lass on reception at check in.
Large room, but bed too small for a double.
Very friendly and helpful staff ,room was great for the price and everything included plus free use off swimming.
Very noisy at night with doors banging
Good location
Flying visit but the staff were great. Room was clean and quiet.
.
Our stay was disappointing overall. We booked this hotel well in advance because we were attending the Metallica concert and specifically requested a room with two single beds, as I was travelling with my 19-year-old son. When we arrived around midnight, we found that the room had only one double bed. I went to reception, where I was told there were no twin rooms available, but the receptionist assured me that an extra bed would be brought to our room. We waited until 1 a.m., but no one ever came. In the end, I had no choice but to share the bed with my adult son, which was both awkward and uncomfortable. The cleanliness of the room also left much to be desired. There were short black hairs, which looked like pet hair, on the duvet, the bed linen had visible washed-in stains, and there were hairs from previous guests on the bathroom floor. At breakfast, the coffee machine didn't work properly. Regardless of the drink selected, it only dispensed black Americano coffee. On the positive side, the breakfast itself was varied and enjoyable, and we appreciated the leisure facilities, including the swimming pool, jacuzzi, and gym. Unfortunately, the issues with the room allocation, cleanliness, and lack of follow-through from the staff significantly affected our stay.
Bon rapport qualité prix. Bon petit dejeuner.
Cleanliness was excellent and room facilities were good when we could finally enter.
Inflated prices, no doubt due to a concert at Hampden Park. Management need to invest in more staff. We arrived at 4pm to be told by reception our room wasn't ready checkin was from 15:00, asked to wait in the bar and they would tell us when, they didn't! There were dozens of people whose rooms weren't ready until after 17:00, we all expected to be on our way to Hampden by then. Consequently everyone missed the opening act. Returned approx 11pm and the bar was still open for residents, again no extra staff to run it. Poor man was trying to serve drinks and food take payment keep the bar stocked on his own! Poor experience for your customers, and how can you treat your loyal staff like that?
Stayed here as part of a coach group for the Royal Highland Show. Initially my room key would not work then reception realised they were programming it for the wrong room number. Room was a decent size but the were webs on the windows and curtains. Dinner was a disaster! Coach party got a buffet style dinner and they ran out of food and people had to wait for soup starter while others were eating their desserts. It only got worse the second night when two more coaches came in. Breakfast was OK but they didn't have enough staff on and the wee waitresses sorting things were run off their feet.
Finlay and Leah was amazing perfect service they deserve a pay rise was really nice had good banter
The staff where very helpful with everything you could not fault them.the bedroom was comfortable. And lesuire centre was really good
The only thing that let the stay down was the food it could have been better
The room was very spacious and well maintained, the bathroom was very nice with a lovely shower area, no bath, but that is ok I guess.
I did find the public toilets and the gym changing room toilets were quite messy - why can't people seem to flush the toilet? More expensive than I wanted to pay, apparently because of a Take That concert locally, very unfair that everyone/anyone has to pay more because of something that is totally unrelated to my/peoples stay.
The pool area, the bar area is nice & welcoming. Staff are nice, room warm
We had bought a package with evening meal and breakfast. The food was awful! We didn’t eat it and returned 80% of it. The hotel receptionist was very helpful and refunded us what we paid for the food.
I paid cash In full then I was told they cash I paid was not in full. So they took about over £40 extra from me at that time when I gave cash I always check I even told the staff to make sure everything was okay.. she said everything is fine enjoy your stay and after few hours she said I didn’t pay her in full and start getting other staff involved start calling me saying I still haven’t paid in full. Was so disappointed and felt I was being scammed. Never had this experience from holiday inn the staff always been great and so kind. I asked them to show me video footage and they refused to show me any footage. Would never go back again.
it had lots of things to do and was in a nice erea looks super fancy
nothing
Location wasn't pretty, but very convenient. Liked the late check-out and the relaxed vibe. Our room (045) was on the ground floor at the back and was very quiet.
Food was okay - plentiful, but plain. Serving staff were helpful and courteous (though the dark-haired girl at breakfast needs to be aware that guests who are eating haven't lost their ability to hear). The slim girl with the high-pitched voice was extremely professional, but the other girl - who was cheery and welcoming - was clearly trying to engage her in conversation about dissatisfied staff feeling intimidated/getting ready to walk awa, etc. She seemed like a nice person, but needs to be reminded of the main purpose to her being in that place at that time. It's a pity to give a poor impression of herself when I believe she could do so much better.
Cleanliness and nice staff.
Nothing as such we like almost everything.
There was a girl who worked on reception i cant remember her name but she checked us in i couldnt fault her she was helpful and welcoming we were told the pool was open till 8pm as stated online aswell we called the hotel to confirm this as we were running late and were paying for the room at check in that was 170 pound there was a similar hotel a couple of minutes away for 95 pound without a pool we were thinking there no point for 1 hours swim we arrived at 6.30pm checked in went to the pool at 7pm to be told in the separate lesure building to be told it closes at 7.40pm I was in the steam room 7.35pm was told to leave as it takes 20 mins to clean up this was disappointing as we wouldn't of booked it
Being lied to about the pool closing times and our room stunk of damp dog soon as yoy walked in and dogs barking all night in the hotel rooms
One stop shop for my son and I
N/a
The restaurant food wss awful and the bed was also awful
Great value for money in terms of food and facilities
The rooms were really run down, like they felt dirty. Rooms were loud at night and during breakfast other guests were very loud
I dont normally bother too much with reviews but i will make an exception on this occasion. Stayed at this hotel a number of times and have been bowled over at how kelsey dowd at reception has resolved various problems ive had. No issue too small for this bright young girl...which is more than can be said for a duty manager that refused to give me anything other than 2 small breakfast plates...she eventually gave me two larger ones when i gently told her i had this year up to 25th may stayed at 65 holiday inns. Now im not an awkward guest but i just wanted her to know that i spend thousands of pounds a year at ihg hotels...maybe a larger plate shouldn't be an issue? Regardless of how many stays , guests should be allowed to have access to a large plate if they order food from outside the hotel. I have reason to believe the new general manager Brian has implemented this new policy. Bravo brian... youve really turned things around. Im Just really disappointed. Apart from that , decent hotel , really nice helpful staff on the whole.
Good room and comfortable
I had to leave the accommodation and find some where to stay the carpets had stains the bed sheets and mattress was badly stained when I complained e I was told they would change the beds waited a further half an no staff came back I have requested a full refund which the hotel agreed at the time please could you follow up and get my money back thank you
The heated pool, the friendly staff! Shout out to Leah and Aimee or (Amy) sorry for the misspelling, both made my baby, dog and myself feel so welcome. Loved the baby play area.
Room grubby Poor description on website
The leisure club and breakfasts
Room needs updating
Usual Holiday Inn quality. I stayed there as I'd locked myself out my flat and I checked in around midnight, and left early next morning. In short I had a good night's sleep and enjoyed a couple of coffees in my room next morning, before leaving to pick up spare keys
Nothing, everything is usually good in Holiday Inns
The team were very helpful, food was good also
Starting to look a bit tired
Great location for what we needed for.
The beds were very uncomfortable
V efficient and friendly staff
Nothing
We slept decent
Check inn was 1 and a half hours late! The pool area was filthy and the restaurant had nothing we ordered, my little Boy came home and took unwell stay clear of this place went down hill so bad!
After negotiating the traffic of central Glasgow, it was so wonderful to escape to the semi-rural location of the Holiday Inn at East Kilbride. A safe haven. Staff were so welcoming, free secure parking appreciated, and the room large and very comfortable. And the food on site was excellent. Our dinner had a home-cooked feel about it, and was very reasonably priced compared to what we've found on the road. And the breakfast had the most variety of any we've encountered, setting us up for our big day of travel and exploring when we left Glasgow, which was easy to do thanks to the hotel's location.
Lovely choice
Pillows were a bit hard
Met a friend for a quick drink, no clear signs of consequences of parking fines, don't usually expect it from main hotels with lots of parkimg spaces, didn't expect a £100 fine for being there 1hr 20mins, trying to phone them constantly no answer,, will hope my feedback will give make them put clearer signs up,, they no doubt hide them to get money out of drivers who go there for a quick drink or meal, I'll not be paying the fine
Nothing
Outside windows in room were very dirty looked as if they hadn't been washed for a long time
Nice hotel, lovely spacious room, very clean, and comfortable beds. Friendly staff.
Nothing
Tolles Preis-Leistungsverhältnis für Angebot mit Gym ubd Pool. Das Zimmer war in einem guten Zustand.
Die Öffnungszeiten des Pools und dees Gym könnten am Wochenende länger sein.
Great accommodation
There was not nothing to not like
We stayed here as part of an event so were booked in for two nights. We booked a king room and were allocated Room 44 on the ground floor. Reception and checking in went well. Our room was spacious but it was cold. There is a system where you have to put your card in to turn on the heating (this wasnt explained and we had to find this out ourselves) - to be fair you can ask for a heater if you find it cool. Spacious bed and a clean room. There were a few things that could have been better. There was no magnifying mirror in the bathroom, although there was a bracket for one. The back of the bathroom door was damaged by water and had not been repaired and there was wallpaper loose in the main room. There was an evening welcome event and the food, to see the least was basic - fried fish and chips, curry in a very gloopy sauce and macaroni cheese. The only saving grace was a 'salad bar'. The route to the event was through various rooms and one of them had glass windows and was full of linen and boxes - didnt look the best. Our nights sleep was peppered by the road noise. Breakfast was disappointing. The room was full of tatty chairs which all need to be replaced. The faux leather was cracking and it just looked very sad. The usual fried offering of a full Scottish breakfast which my husband opted for. The beans were cold and the fried scone was poor. I opted for the separately cooked porridge and poached eggs which were very nice. The offering was large but nothing really different. There was a dinner the second night which was better than the Friday evening welcome buffet. Our second morning breakfast was interesting - they had run out of eggs! Apparently the delivery hadnt arrived - I couldnt understand why someone couldnt go out and buy some eggs! I visited the leisure centre, which is also a private club. The gym was well equipped although it was over a couple of floors - there was no explanation by the staff on the desk where everything was and there were classes on but no explanation as to how to access them. As it was a Saturday the pool was busy with families so I didnt use the pool. All in all we were pleased when our stay came to an end. On the positive the staff were all very pleasant and helpful, although Reception couldnt advise on buses from the hotel to Glasgow. In the end we used the phone at Reception to call a taxi and discovered there was a fixed rate (£23) to go to Glasgow, so we opted for that, although again no one told us about this. We did not think it was value for money. Overall not a great stay and I dont think we would stay here again.
Brilliant value
Location & size of the rooms & bathroom
Spa and pool very tired - changing room & toilets were filthy- rubbish lying around on floor, toilets needing a good clean etc. Reported it to a member of staff but obviously not interested. Don’t know if this was a one off or regular occurrence- but a failure of management Limited choices in food with a number of items unavailable Sound insulation in bedrooms could be better - kept awake by a continuous bleeping noise from a near by bedroom. Could also hear next door bathroom when it was in use - not very nice! Should point out I do have very good hearing!
The bed was super comfy, really soft and a warm duvet. The shower room was superb, the power of the shower was excellent and the toiletries were luxurious. Breakfast was a hot buffet, or a continental offering, absolutely delicious, well topped up and laid out beautifully. The swimming pool and spa facilities were an added bonus and free to use for the duration of our stay. I'd book again.
Pillow liners would have been nice.
