Provider-sourced guest reviews.
It was a very good location for us, we were close to family, handy to have a restaurant to eat at.
Very dark rooms, shower over bath not very practical and quite difficult to get in and out of as it was high and no rails, we are also not even elderly! Didn’t like the wooden plinth the bed sat on as it was a trip hazard, bed frame very uncomfortable getting in and out of. We did have a couple of minor things go missing during our stay which I reported to reception. One was a hair turban, white, and one was a silk eye mask emerald green, they possible went off with the linen which was disappointing as we were on a long trip.
Nice hotel room was spacious and clean
Nothing
good
nothing
Location and decor
Lack of electrical sockets in the room. Path outside is a trip hazard I.e. loose paving, paving sticking up and it’s all laid upside down!
Rooms lovely food lovely great price
Shower far too hot couldn’t get temperature down I stayed room 11
The staff very nice
The downstairs area was cold as doors were open for cabling by the local electricity service
Great location and friendly staff
Great looking hotel
Liked everything
Staff, Parking and location was very good for our needs on this trip. Breakfast was also very good both mornings.
Stayed for 2 nights, 2 separate weddings on each night (not attended by us), the noise from the wedding parties was unacceptable when guests returned to their rooms / corridor throughout the night and into the early hours. No consideration for guests not at the wedding party. Doors into the rooms are not soundproof and don't stop any noise coming from the corridors. This disrupted our attempt to sleep on both nights. Our room itself was very warm (no air-con), we were unable to open the windows to try to help with the heat in the room due to noise levels of wedding guests outside. The bed was reasonably comfy except for the wooden bed frame which we often shinned when walking around or getting into the bed, not ideal. Would not stay here again when visiting East Kilbride, which is a shame as the location, staff and breakfast was very good.
Quiet and well presented hotel with a nice breakfast included too. Enjoyed the jacuzzi bath!
The room was not very clean, the shelves, night stand and windowsill were very dusty and many dead bugs laying around.
Food was good and staffhelpfull
Only one chair in room, goodes in the room should be free, heating was off, had to ask for it to be put on, no USB points in room.
Great location, nice rooms, good breakfast
Only two power outlets and both near the desk, nothing near the bed
The staff are the strength of this hotel and make you feel welcome. The hotel is always clean and comfortable. I have stayed multiple times.
Rooms were fantastic, plenty of room. Shower was excellent. Food and staff were very good. We'd stayed in a few hotels over the last 10 days touring Scotland and this was by far the best.
Nothing.
We stayed for two night during midweek to visit family locally. Very clean and quiet room (we had room 10) even with a wedding on one of the nights that we stayed. The room was spacious and well appointed with an excellent bathroom and a well-stocked minibar fridge and plentiful snack (we were impressed by the range of choice). Plenty of free car parking with two onsite car chargers (which we didn't use). Staff were friendly and attentive but also discreet. We had breakfast in the restaurant on both days and also an early dinner on our first night. The food and service were very good in all respects. The
The lighting was poor (it was very dark even during the day and with all the lights on) and could have been better equipped (only two power outlets next to the door and no USB connectors which made it a challenge for us). The minibar prices were typical of hotel prices so were weren't enticed (despite the temptation)
Breakfast was amazing
Expensive for what it is
No heating, no hot water, bathroom fan not working. Raised a complaint twice nothing happened. Unable to sleep out of the cold, unable to shower without hot water and the bathroom is smelling as the fan is not working (i have fibromyalgia). Raised the complaint twice, no one checked on us. Very bad anniversary experience and by far my worst staying in a hotel experience ever.
Staff very friendly,comfortable bed
Lovely clean hotel
Breakfast service was awful nearly 45 mins to get a breakfast, toast came with no butter, had to ask someone to take our order as we waited so long lady who was previously mopping and cleaning up actually brought my plate to the table.
Nice easy access
We were in room 1 with my daughter and it was very loud from 530am in morning
The meal at night and the breakfast was of a very high standard and the service was excellent from every member of staff. The bathroom was excellent.
Room is poorly laid out and difficult to navigate the tight spaces and step if you need the bathroom during the night. No socket next the bed is poor as I needed to borrow an extension lead for my medical equipment.
The hotel is very nicely furnished and comfortable, with a good restaurant and bar. The room was great, large with a good sized en suite, ironing board and iron, hairdryer, tea and coffee supplies, mini bar and good quality sheets. There was a rainfall shower with no separate shower head so if you don't want to wash your hair bring a shower cap. We ate in the restaurant one evening, the food, atmosphere and service were all good, and cocktails delicious.
We were there over a weekend for Commonwealth Games events in Glasgow. The breakfast service at the weekend doesn't start until 8am, the same time as the first train into Glasgow on Saturday. We needed to get this train so the hotel offered a breakfast to go, which we had on the Saturday. Although we were grateful for the offer, it was not good. A limp (non breakfast) sandwich, a squashed small couple of pastry items, a piece of fruit and a bottle of water. On the Sunday we decided to stay for breakfast and get a taxi (the train service doesn't start until later on Sundays). The breakfast was fantastic. Top class. A full continental choice, fresh juices, beautiful fresh fruit, pastries, yoghurts, etc and an excellent choice of cooked breakfast. Definitely do not miss your breakfast!
Staff friendly, breakfast was good.
Room was quirky. Black Wood furniture and fittings dour. Some of the fixtures tired. Sunken bath and shower not to our liking , difficult to get in and out of if you're not agile. Like a lot of hotels very few mains sockets in the room and USB charging ports. Toilet paper very thin and poor quality. Bed was in a wooden frame so not ideal and awkward for getting out of. Tap on bathroom sink was stiff
The breakfast was amazing and the staff were very kind and helpful
Hotel looks beautiful from the outside and reception area.
Room was pretty dated. Food dry and bland.
Lovely pub/hotel in a stunning location
Single bed was very single!
Came with wife for anniversary stay as was married there. Room was nice and comfortable, friendly staff and decent food on site.
Friendly staff, lovely hotel.
Location is central for East Kilbride
Ease of access. Restaurant for evening meal very good. Good selection of Gluten Free.

Had an absolutely fabulous day from start to finish at our wedding, Rebecca, Gabbie,Anya and the rest of the team were fantastic and couldn't ask for more, staff were polite pleasant and extremely efficient. Rooms were clean spacious with everything you needed, honeymoon suite was amazing, food was fresh and very tasty
Ideal location for visiting accounts
Rooms cold, window didn’t shut properly, looking quite tired and dated and the food in restaurant has gone downhill recently
Location in Village, close to rail transport. Secure room.very good breakfast. Attentive staff. Gentleman in bar of an evening was very pleasant and helpful.
Room could be brighter. Tea tray in room 9 is awkward to use.
A good selection of cooked breakfasts. No cheese or cold meats with the continental breakfast despite being stated there would be.
We didn’t realise the hotel is primarily a wedding venue. Large groups in the bar were noisy. Our standard room was very small. You had to squeeze down one side of the bed as there wasn’t enough space between the bed and a radiator. The room lighting was very dim and the room generally dark. There is no air conditioning so were reliant on opening the window. Not ideal with noisy wedding guests outside.
The room was large with a decent sized bathroom. The bar and restaurant area were nice, and there was a lovely outdoor terrace. The location was great as it was only a short walk from the train station and local shops. The staff were friendly.
We stayed for two nights and on the second morning we had to wait quite a long time (about 45 mins) for our cooked breakfast. The continental selection had run out. There didn't seem to be many staff members about. They did apologise at the time for the delay. The food was good once it arrived, it was just a shame about the long wait. Luckily we weren't rushing to go or we would have had to leave without eating!
Staff always really nice, friendly and happy to help.
Nothing
Was nice standard Most staff were very pleasant
Breakfast was disappointing Rooms small
The hotel itself.
Attitude of some of the staff. Young girl tending breakfast seemed to not have a care in the world, very forgetful. Staff on reception always in back room, had to shout from front desk to get their attention. Cleaning staff stood talking in middle of corridor blocking my path, had to ask 3 times if I could pass her before she sighed and moved.
Excellent hotel staff were very helpful and breakfast was perfect.
The hotel is lovely. Excellent food and rooms to a good standard The girls are reception are a credit to your hotel. So friendly. Chatty and helpful. I think the girl on reception was Hannah. Excellent customer service

Our wedding day at Torrance was a dream come true, and everything ran incredibly smoothly from start to finish. A huge thank you to our amazing wedding coordinator Rebecca for keeping everything on track and to Dominic he made sure we had everything we needed throughout the day. A mention to Brian on the night staff for his exceptional service late into the evening, and checking I was happy with everything on the morning of. Honestly, every single member of staff we encountered was brilliant. Finally, a quick mention of the honeymoon suite—it was absolutely beautiful and the perfect place to unwind after the best day of our lives. 10/10!"
Breakfast was good
Great location. Very clean and comfortable. Staff were beyond helpful and accommodating with our large group.
The staff are welcoming and the hotel is well run, a lovely atmosphere and the rooms are clean.
Location was good. Choice at breakfast was very good. Hotel decor was tasteful and hotel was welcoming.
A very nice hotel, with an excellent bar and restaurant. The food was exceptional and reasonable priced. The service was good, the staff were friendly and attentive. We enjoyed our stay and would use it again in the future for a stop over travelling into the Highlands.
Staff were very welcoming room with the jacuquizi bath was great room was beutiful, food was really good in morning also
This is our second stay here ,Its a lovely clean hotel .The staff are all lovely and the breakfast is lovely
We held my sister's 30th birthday in the Village suite. The hotel and suite is stunning. The set up was beautiful, own private bar, staff was very attentive and helpful. All guests commented on how amazing the venue was, how kind the staff were and that we enjoyed ourselves very much. The buffet was fresh, plentiful and delicious. They catered to some guest who were vegetarian. The DJ was brilliant and was happy to play special request and played songs that met the theme of the party. We were delighted with the service we received and the event staff were fantastic in helping us organise everything and answered all our questions quickly. I highly recommend this venue and we will definitely be considering this venue for our future family events. I had booked a few rooms for family and they commented that they had a lovely comfortable stay. They said their room was spacious and clean. Breakfast I was told had a good variety of continental and hot food. It was fresh and delicious. Many thanks again for the hospitality.
The beer garden was a bonus .. every detail is accounted for Food was brilliant .. staff lovely
Nothing comes to mind
Myself and my new wife had our wedding here in May 2026. Our wedding was previously booked at a different venue at a later date but had to bring our wedding forward due to a family emergency. After meeting the staff at the Torrance we decided to go ahead with them. Rebecca and her team were so helpful and helped accommodate everything with such short notice. We will definitely be back
The room had a jet spa bath. The location was excellent for all places we were going to over the weekend which was important for enjoyment. Fantastic breakfast and great staff, replaced items on the Scottish breakfast with those i liked better.
The bed at times seemed a bit uncomfortable. It was the only thing that took off the score, there was a wooden bit that was uncomfortable when getting up and there was a step up to the bed which we were not so keen on. Apart from this though it was a beautiful hotel. There seemed to be some confusion on booking .com making it appear that there was a spa in the hotel which was one of the draws. When I asked on the hotel website at a later date they said there was no spa in the hotel.
Staff excellent Hotel and facilities very good
Prima hotel met alle voorzieningen, vriendelijk personeel, goed ontbijt.
De verwarming van de badkamer werkte niet.
Our room was large, comfortable and well appointed. The bed was very comfortable. Breakfast, included, was a highlight. The veggie haggis was wonderful.
Nothing
Friendly staff. Restaurant was excellent!
Shower in our room was very strange. You had to slide down into the tub to use it.
Very nice
Bar area was a bit chilly
Hyggelig og koselig sted.
Dårlig lys på badet, og veldig lytt ved døra. Merket veldig godt at det gikk folk utenfor, spesielt hvis de pratet.
The location suited our function
The bed has a bulky wooden frame, that would maybe work in a larger room. The breakfast was shocking , most of it burnt and that was the experience of 4 out of 5 off us.
Clean, modern, excellent facilities
Nothing
Staff were really friendly, nice touch in the rooms with a tea cake and wafer 🙂 Wedding venue was excellent, master of ceremonies was outstanding too.
Nothing really. Room was a bit small and dark but being picky here.
We had a great experience from planning our wedding to it all coming together on the day. Special shout out to Rebecca who made planning our big day so easy and stress free. On the day everything went smoothly and exceeded our expectations. Our family and friends enjoyed their stay and group breakfast the morning after was a special touch. Couldn’t recommend the hotel enough!
Location staff parking and food excellent
Noise from other rooms and dirt, contamination in bathroom tap black algae residues.
It was very clean and nice, staff were brilliant and breakfast was quality

No socket by the bed
It’s a lovely hotel. Nice restaurant/bar area. Breakfast was great.
TV in room was completely useless. What channels did work jumped like mad. No apps like Netflix av to log in too.
Breakfast was good but the location was not as I thought was a we bit out of the way but we were really happy with the hotel was a nice place to stay
How far away it was from everything
Clean and very nice

Loved the friendly staff the organisation and the rooms where lovely
Nothing it’s stunning hotel
I recently held my wedding at the Torrance Hotel. The whole process was flawless from start to finish. Their event department never missed a thing. Family members stayed the night of the wedding and they also commented how great the hotel was. Their honeymoon suite is a dream. The breakfast the next day was to order rather than a buffet which my guests appreciated.
Lovely hotel and great location. Train station nearby. Hotel is spotless throughout including the bar toilets. Staff are great. Ewan the barman is a great guy very pleasant and hard working even under pressure. Credit to the company
Place was beautiful staff done great with set up for my cousins wedding rooms was cosy and very comfortable
The rooms where clean with a modern decor. The building has a nice look to it. Staff are pleasant.
The refrigerator never worked. We where given one key card which ment we couldn't leave a light on for coming back to the room in the evening. We had to ask for the heating to be put on it was snowing outside and the room was really cold. The bar in the hotel was pricey. Restaurant staff aren't always available for more drinks and we had issue with our meal which we had 10mins to get someone to help.
We usually just go to the restaurant which is normally very good. On this occasion we stayed overnight as we were attending a wedding there (which was very well run). We must have been given the smallest room in the hotel (room 4) which was very cramped with very little room to manoeuvre around the bed. There is an adjoining door to the next room which was not sound-proofed and you could hear the neighbouring guests. The tap in the bathroom squirted water right on to me and not into the basin. Breakfast was ok but several things were missing that were advertised on the menu (especially on the continental buffet selection).
Very spacious and clean, nice staff and lovely breakfast
The flush was dripping a bit
We had our wedding at the Torrance and the experience we had was unbelievable. From the minute we met Rebecca, we felt supported and like there was nothing we couldn’t ask. Rebecca couldn’t do enough to help us plan and made recommendations and kept in touch regularly and made several dietary accommodations for guests who had allergies/intolerances. The staff on the day were absolutely amazing and took care of our guests and the room looked absolutely stunning when set up. Our guests found it absolutely beautiful and that it was a perfect venue and very elegant. The food is unbelievable both for the dinner and the buffet and the master of ceremonies, Dominic, is like nobody we’ve ever seen before, polite and humorous but amazingly professional throughout and happy to answer any questions or give advice and spends time talking to the guests too. Don’t even get us started on the honeymoon suits because that’s something you need to experience yourself! Honestly - couldn’t recommend enough, email in and get a consult with Rebecca for smooth and stress free wedding planning that’s detailed and all about you as a couple. Can’t recommend enough 🥰
We recently stayed in the Stuart Suite and had such a great experience. The room was absolutely gorgeous and spotless, couldn’t fault it at all. The cocktails in the mini fridge were a really nice touch, and the spa bath was amazing. We loved all the facilities; it felt really luxurious. We also had cocktails and dinner in the restaurant, which were both excellent. The bar area was especially cozy and welcoming, loved the fire. All the staff we met were so friendly, helpful, and polite, it really made the stay. Just a couple of small things to mention - early in the morning we could hear staff talking quite loudly outside our door, which woke us up. Also, the “mind your head” sign by the stairs down to the bed blends in with the wall, so it’s easy to miss, we both bumped our heads a few times! Maybe making the sign a different colour would help. Overall though, these are really minor points. It’s a beautiful hotel and we’ll definitely be back, hopefully to try a different room next time. Thanks for a lovely stay!
Worst afternoon Tea I’ve ever had the sandwiches were wafer thin and the fillings were disgusting the bread was hard we paid £102 for 4 people and left within an hour I would not recommend this place to anyone
Location was good, rooms nice
Hot water kept going off and radiators in the bedroom. Water pressure also was not very good.
visited the resturant and forgot to key in my car details because it was a winters day and i was seated as soon as I went in. and got a parking fine 10 weeks later .They have asked for a photo of the letter ( which i have destroyed ) (i have given them all the reference numbers) and they want copy of proof of purchase......Fortunately i had vouchers that (hopefully can be traced) as i dont keep receipts for lunch. Emailed all the details I had......Not interested. Want pictures ....details are not enough. They cant be bothered to look through their records (which its all computerised so wouldnt take much) want me to phone their head office, get a copy of the voucher. and take a picture and sent it to them. Theyve taken more time to send me pictures of their notices
Nice comfortable bedroom and nice bar area. Staff very friendly.
Having to wait 45 minutes for breakfast to be cooked. When it arrived, it was dried up bacon and cold. Disappointed. My advice is to skip breakfast.
If you’re looking for a wedding venue where you can celebrate one of the most important days of your life—a day that will be remembered by all the people who matter most—look no further. You’ve found the perfect place. No matter what your special day involves, this incredible team will make it happen absolutely seamlessly and without a hitch. Rebecca, Dom, and the entire staff are the most professional, capable, and thoughtful team you could ever wish for. They are exceptional at what they do. From the very beginning of the planning process right through to the final minute of the event, everything was handled with genuine care and meticulous attention. It was an absolute pleasure the whole way through, and we could not have imagined it being any better. Thank you all so much. Eddie & Joyce Jones
Location, private garden, room set up.
Electric heater, burn on bed throw, description was spa bath but was just a normal bath with shower. Reception staff seemed preoccupied and not very welcoming. Bar closed at 09:30 instead of 00:00 as it was quiet, impacting staying paid guests who would like to have used the facilities. Doors locked at 23:55pm, difficult and awkward as nobody available at reception to allow smoking guests out of the hotel for a cigarette.
Staff are very kind
The food was vile and the bed was not great room was freezing and not very clean just didn't like atall
We looked forward to staying at this hotel having had a marvellous meal a few years ago. This time round we stayed overnight following a family funeral. The hotel is beautiful throughout. Very clean and well kept. All staff friendly & helpful. Our rooms (particularly room 9) were very cold on occasion. The mattresses are comfortable but wooden frame a nightmare for short people to get in & out of bed! Staff working overnight could be heard until 3 am - machines going and talking. The dinner was a HUGE disappointment - what happened chef? 2 out of the 3 courses for myself were inedible. A curry consisted of tough & dry pieces of chicken - both my daughter & I had to leave it. My dessert (Panna cotta) did not resemble it's description whatsoever. It was so dense & unpleasant - one spoonful was enough. My husband was happy with his steak & pecan pie. Staff kindly gave us free cocktails to compensate. Breakfast was excellent thankfully!
