toilet leaked all night into bowl...until eventually it wouldnt flush at all....luckily we were leaving at that point. Reported to reception, no apologies of course. Do not stay in 407..its an adjoining room so u can hear literally everything from next door. Same goes for 406 i suppose. Beds comfy though.
Great rooms, lovely spa
I have been trying to get an answer to my email to hotel manager for 3 weeks !!! Hotel fine but need answer to question on my bill Emailed 3 times no answer
The room was lovely and the spa was amazing. However Saturday night there was a wedding with music till midnight. Our room was directly above the music and was vibrating the whole time and we could it hear it all word for word. We spoke tor reception and they offered us complimentary breakfast, however the cost spent and the late night didn't give us the most comfortable stay. We have taken this further with the hotel.
Nice view, comfy bed. Were some stains on bed really low near the floor. Found a few pubic hairs on bathroom floor and bed sheet
Tried to call several times days before check in and on check in date... No one answered. Got there early to use the spa, wasn't allowed to use it until wrs checked in, which we weren't able to, which funnily enough was what we wanted to confirm with the pre visit phone calls. First room: Small and noisy, on a side street, plenty of crashing bottle bins and shouting. The AC unit then decided to launch ice all over the place and soak the be, fortunately nothing tech was near it. To their credit, the night turn staff member was great and gave us a new room as the bed was wet. Room 2: Large room with broken windows that either wouldn't open or wouldn't close, so get more road noise, this time from the busy main road. No AC but a dehumidifier that was making the room uncomfortably hot so we had to prop the main door open to get cool air from the hall. Very large bed but fairly uncomfortable. So much light coming through the window slats, we covered them up with pillows. Overall, disappointing but would try other hotels in the chain. Spa was nothing special. Tubs were tepid, pools were cold. Steam room and sauna were ok. If you book any other way than direct with them, you have to pay £10 each to sue the spa. We had this deducted due to the issues we had with our stay.
Great stay!
We had a lovely stay, very much appreciated up-grade, lovely surprise of gin in room with binoculars on table with comfy chairs. Lovely spacious room, very comfortable bed, pillows and quilt. Lots of space for clothes, iron and hair-dryer. We were only going to have breakfast the first morning, but it was so nice and we thought very good value, we had it the next day as well. Didn’t have an evening meal as didn’t see the menu at reception until the last day. We regretted not seeing it as we certainly would’ve. The hotel has very helpful friendly staff and we would definitely stay there again.
Great room and great location, however a bit noisy due to late night revellers! Would not deter me from another stay though.
Mostly great, comfortable room and bed in a great location. Paid extra in comparison to other hotels for the pool (not the spa) and you'd be lucky to get two people able to swim alongside each other in that pool. Facilities were very nice but our 'complimentary gin and tonic' came without a bottle opener for the bottles of tonic and ice took over an hour to arrive, in which time we had left. They were quick to apologise though and gave as 2x free drink vouchers. Slightly incoherent charging of the spa facilities though.
Ace
Gorgeous room, perfect service. this hotel made my girlfriend’s birthday so magical and i am so grateful. also the spa is perfect
The bar was a bit tired in places. Some chairs were ridiculously filthy and worn so I wasn’t hopeful but our room was perfect in every way. A beautiful comfortable pristinely clean tidy room with an enormous bed and free gin and tonic and a happy birthday welcoming plate with mini cakes and strawberries. Sadly the bar closed at 11pm so we were refused a drink on our return just after this which was a shame.
So average - nothing major but lots of little problems with our stay. Rooms were not twin like we requested. Bags not stored in the hotels safe area and just left in the lobby day. Rooms very tired looking.
Good location, the spa is amazing (although you have to do pay for access per day). The room and the hotel decor just felt quite dated and tired, not sure I would spend the money to stay again.
Lovely property and great bar and spa facilities. Disappointed at the lack of aircon in our room (although our friends room did have A/C…) and 2 poxy fans that blow warm air at you!
Hotel needs a good make over, the rooms, the corridors, the restaurant looks well used / abused. Certainly not like it looks in the pics, these were clearly from years ago.
Great weather, great views, great spa
Really lovely decor Amazing restaurant Nice complimentary drink Great spa facilities We will be back
Good
Great staff, and cleanliness
Beautiful Hotel, fantastic views.
Hotel location was perfect. Close to the laines, shops, beach front, i360 and restaurants. The hotel room itself was spacious, plenty of storage, decent coffee machine, complimentary gin and tonic and a super big comfortable bed. Decor overall very nice. Staff very friendly and happy to accommodate. The weather was very hot this weekend. We had to ask for a change of room as the 1st night stay was very warm. Window didn’t open, and the air con machine supplied didn’t work. The room over all was damp and we had found black mould on the walls of the bathroom. Isolator fan didn’t work in bathroom either. Moved to another room with no issues from staff. Much better room with a window to allow air flow! Isolator fan still not working and air con still poor but overall a better room and better stay. Would stay again. Amazing location!
Fine but won't be returning
The room was nice and great value considering location. I loved the complimentary gin and tonic. The spa was lovely, definitely worth a visit
Could be a very nice hotel and spa but needs looking after. A few damages in the rooms and an unclean spa area let it down. Good location for access to city centre and sea. Nice decor.
The Hotel was lovely. Most of the bar staff were lovely although the female manager was rude to one of the staff members in front of the guests which seemed a little unprofessional. Spa facilities were amazing and really unusual. The food was lovely and would def stay again. The rooms were well equipped and nice although there was mould around the window frames.
Great hotel and great spa
Room was tiny - hotel was shabby but friendly and reasonably clean
Lovely hotel old hotel with a modern twist. Great Spa facilities and breakfast.
Amazing! Beautiful spa!!
Friendly atmosphere ,
I’ve always liked this hotel as it’s quite small and it always felt a little special. But this time I felt very much like just a number, no real welcome or attention given at any point. Deluxe Room (sea view) - whilst bed was very comfortable and bathroom adequate the rest was a little tired and I found it rather lacking. Especially for the price.
Lovely big room , extremely comfy bed , good quality linen. Lovely sea view , Only cons are no plug near tea station and top of shower has a fault as it kept spraying whole bathroom
Fantastic location and a stunning spa. Already planning a trip back. Bit pricey for the small rooms - they are very small
I had a lovely stay for work and wished I could have spent more time in my room, which was gorgeous! The room was beautifully decorated and had all the bits and pieces I needed. The sea view (with a complimentary G&T!) was just amazing. Breakfast was also really nice with lots of choice. Will definitely be coming back!
Really pleasant stay! Staff were friendl and didn’t make me feel uncomfortable for being solo. Really good value for money! Only thing is the windows could do with a clean 👀
Really conveniently placed, spa was lovely.
The hotel and facilities were beautiful. The use of the spa was a highlight. The complimentary gin and tonic when we got to our room was the perfect way to start. Only flaw was some crumbs on the armchair when we got there it had obviously just been missed on the clean. Otherwise perfect stay
Only issue was that the SPA was too ful. Otherwise was great!
Service at reception was poor, had to change rooms due to dirty room and shutters broken. No apology given.
Wonderful stay and the mattress was incredible.. the pillows were very uncomfortable though. The hotel was very clean and looks beautiful on the inside, don’t get put off by the outside! The spa was amazing too. Would 100% stay again.
Lovely spacious room , comfy bed and lovely bathroom with everything you could need for a short stay.
Regret not going to premier inn The rooms are incredibly noisy, I was floor 4 of 5 and the room above was loud, street noise was loud and the conjoining rooms and hallways genuinely sounded like they were in the same room. Beds and pillows uncomfortable (2 beds pushed together) We tried to use the pool and spa 3 times, 2 of which we just walked straight back out as you genuinely couldn’t fit another person in the pools
Booked corner suite great room. Yes can hear some noise but no troubke sleeping. Pillows not comfy but rest if bed lovely. Great breakfast and the Spa is lovely.
Hotel is right on the seafront and an easy walk to Brighton Pier and the Lanes. There is no street parking nearby so we parked the car in Churchill Square carpark for 2 nights at our own cost. Our room was bright and spacious with a great view of the sea through a large bsy window. Breakfast was cooked to order. The bar area is pleasant and quiet. Staff was excellent, and in particular, Clae from the front desk who recovered some clothing I left behind and forwarded it on to our next destination. Area along the seafront was dirty and tacky, but some excellent pubs in the Lanes area.
Thank you for a fantastic stay.
I booked the wrong date, and realised within 2 minutes. But wasn't able to cancel. The hotel did not respond to messages on Expedia, when I called they said I had to speak to Expedia as I didn't book direct. I then had to contact Expedia, who contacted the hotel, and in the end I paid for a hotel I couldn't stay in. The lack of communication was appalling.
Excellent hotel and location. Only downside was no parking at the hotel. We used an app JustPark abd hired someones driveway for the weekend. This then neant lugging our bags for a 20 minute walk. Not great if you're an older couple. Spa was excellent though.
Staff were lovely at reception despite having an overwhelming number of people checking in at the same time. The hotel was comfortable and we had a great night sleep. The hotel is a little tired and does need a little attention. We had a superior room which had an amazing view of the beach. Spa facilities were lovely, highly recommend using this. Would stay again
Terrible room, they do not tell you about the view, the smell or the noise from the ac units outside. Also the hidden extras were huge, per day 15 for a dog 10 for SPA 28 for parking, 3 days - is 159 pounds in hidden extras, its a joke AVOID this hotel. I booked a 3 day stay and checked out on the first morning, ruined trip.
Check in time ran over but received some complementry drinks
We stayed for 2 nights and had a fantastic time. Our sea view room was really nice and the bathroom clean and modern. The spa facilities are brilliant and we've just booked again for February.
It was my birthday & had a wonderful time. Stayed for 2 nights Sunday 8th December for 2 nights along with my daughter. We enjoyed the spa, the restaurant & our room was lovely, clean & a sea view. Checkin was very goid & I must say 'Clay' on reception was amazing. A very professional, friendly man whom made our stay very good. The restaurant/bar staff were friendly & helpful. We stayed here 2 years ago & have to say will always come back to this wonderful gem whenever I stay in Brighton. Only living 5 miles away is a bonus too. I totally recommend this hotel. Lived the complimentary gin too, thank you so much. Nikki & Poppy Bailey xx
Lovely place to stay. Comfy bed large bed, good amenities, lovely spa facilities
Ok room. Extremely expensive for what we got. No curtains but shutters. AC was broken. Heat was ridiculous, could hardly open ancient single glazed victorian sash. Secondary double glazing almost impossible to move. I did not sleep at all because of the heat. Only saving grace was service and breakfast.
I travelled down to Brighton with some friends to take part in the Brighton 10k run on Sunday 17th November. The hotel is nice but located in an old building so parts of the hotel felt quite cold at times. However, the breakfast was nice and the location is great and central to everything near by!
Great stay, very comfy bed, very lovely staff and useful when you want a takeaway to your room. The only things that could be better would be getting the windows cleaned and some minor mould on the ceiling. Also the breakfast cost was overpriced considering you could walk to Wetherspoons nearby and get the same for less (or get a too good go like I did). Overall great but could be amazing.
Very nice indeed.Definitely far superior to two other so called ‘four star’hotels on the seafront. All decor, fixtures and fittings modern and stylish.Great shower, strong flow and consistent hot temperature. Would have rated a five had it not been for the fact that my night was disturbed by a low hum of what sounded like something industrial coupled with a high pitch whistling noise which I reported to reception. Excellent spa facilities.
Very small room with little or no space to hang anything longer than a tee shirt. Bed squeezed into a corner so could only get in & out from one side which made it difficult for the one against the wall. Very expensive for such a room a small room & breakfast not included either. Wouldn’t stay there again
Great location facing the sea in central Brighton so easy walking distance to all the usual places you would want to visit including numerous places to eat and drink. Friendly staff, nicely presented hotel with its own nice bar and restaurant
Fabulous! Great location and view.
My "cosy" single room turned out to be a cramped room with inadequate storage and nowhere to sit. After two difficult nights when I had a serious bed malfunction, I was lucky to be upgraded into a super double. I can't fault the staff or the service. Breakfast was incredible and the spa facilities are excellent.
The contact of staff via WhatsApp after check in was easy and efficient; they responded quickly to all my queries. I appreciated the provision of an XL bathrobe when we asked. The staff were very nice and friendly, which made our stay more enjoyable. The spa was, as always, nice and pleasant. On the second night, there was some cleaning or refilling of the pool, but it didn't affect our overall experience. The view of the beach was great, though we could hear traffic during the day. One downside was the loud music from a college club at the beach that continued until around 3 AM, which was quite annoying. Despite this, we would still recommend staying here.
Another good stay at the Harbour Hotel. Hard to beat for a Brighton stay. Sea view for breakfast :)
Friendly staff
Most of the staff were friendly and very helpful although there was a member of staff on reception that was rather brusque. I felt that the room I stayed in, a single room, was overpriced at £148 with no wardrobe or hairdryer, the best thing was the feather duvet and pillows. In this instance I felt I was paying for location and not quality.
Lovely room with a great view. Facilities and in room comforts were great. Hotel manager very helpful
Excellent service
Stayed many times before, great place, location and accommodation.
Lovely hotel, clean, smells amazing The rooms are to a high standard of decor with all you need at hand The spa is great, bar is nice The location is right in the middle of the sea front so is noisy at night as the bars and clubs are literally over the road so it’s very busy with a constant flow of people and cars until around 3am During the day it’s the perfect spot as close to everything, restaurants, shops, Pier, etc Have a super stay and would definitely go back
Amazing spa! I’ll be back for this alone!
Overlooking Brighton's expansive beach, nicely renovated hotel with a surprisingly welcoming underground spa, where I had a thoroughly recomended deep tissue massage. It could do with a bit more diligent dusting and vacuuming though, both in the rooms and communal areas (the lift for example). And although everyone was helpful & polite, ask a receipt for everything extra (i.e. the not so good value for money breakfast) you pay for as it may not show on their system and you may be asked to pay twice.
loved the view spa was really nice
Location was fantastic. Loved most of the staff, very attentive and kind. We had some issues with keycards, TV, and bedding which were all resolved. But poor wifi meant not able to work, and noise from other rooms and party in and around hotel meant we hardly slept. Hotel is great when you’re visiting to party. Not so great for rest.
Lovely hotel. Lovely staff. Very clean, great views. Windows need cleaning, easy to do and would show off the amazing asset of the sea facing rooms. Great breakfast. Perfect location.but you will have beachfront noise. Hotel has done everything to reduce this.
Great location. Nice room, requires decorating touch ups. Most comfortable bed I’ve ever had at a hotel.
Arrived around 12:30 for a 3 pm check-in. They were very firm on saying I had to come back at 3 but let me check in my bag. I asked if I could use the spa before 3 given that I was also paying for that separately and the staff were very firm on that too. I don't understand that - I wouldn't even have minded paying an extra £10 for another day's worth but I think I was made to feel like I was being demanding for even asking. On top of that, two of us were spending over £200 on treatments at the spa between us, so it really wouldn't have killed the hotel staff to recognise that. I then left my bag and went out for a wander. When I came back with my wife to check in at 2:45, the room still wasn't ready and nor was anybody else's. 3 pm is already quite late as a check-in time and its four hours on from the standard check-out time. When it got to 3 pm though, the staff smiled and told me that my room would be ready at 3:15 pm! No real apology, no explanation and no effort to put things right - if somebody has to wait longer, the staff should do something like offer them a late check-out or tell them that they're welcome to a complementary coffee on the house etc... In the end, I made a point of going down to the spa and using that from 3 pm because I was paying for it and they couldn't get my room ready. This morning, before I checked out, housekeeping also knocked. No wonder no rooms are ready for 3 pm if the staff try to clean a room on the day of checkout before the guest left
An excellent hotel. We had the corner suite, loved the bathtub in the room.
Lovely room, gorgeous spa, great staff
Nice cosy room. Windows we screwed shut so no fresh air in the room.
Hotel lovely with very nice staff but there is a nightclub next door and both nights Friday and Saturday it played very loud music until 4am, so not much sleep. A shame as overall lovely hotel and location.
I came to check in late and the hotel had sold my room and we’re fully booked.
I really enjoyed my stay at the Harbour hotel. Front desk staff were really friendly/helpful and I was impressed by how CLEAN (i have high standards) and cosy the rooms were. The single room was smaller that i expected in person, the ensuite actually feels bigger than the bedroom but it was so nice and cosy and they added a good quality desk fan to help with help with the ventilation which was a nice touch. Also! full length mirror if you like those! The beds in particular have fantastic pillows/mattresses so I had the best nights sleep I've had in a while. I was initially hoping for a seaside view room but actually glad I chose a back room on the other side because I feel it made for a quieter night. The hotel is literally on the seafront so 7 mins walk to the beach was so convenient for work and lots going on to do and see on that particular part of the beach. Breakfast was good, dinner was FANTASTIC and would highly recommend eating at the restaurant for dinner as the quality and taste of the meals were great. Simple WIFI process and strong connection throughout. I will definitely be back to explore the larger seaside view rooms!
Loved the room, the spa was amazing and the bar was lovely and the staff, hotel is walking distance from most things, perfect
Lovely place although you can hear the clubs around it at night
Really Friendly & professional staff, very clean & comfy rooms. Great location for all facilities.
Great friendly and efficient staff.....
All good.
Check in time could be earlier, check out time could be later A deal with car parking providers in area would be useful
Amazing stay for my partners birthday. Room was very well presented and hotel offered to provide flowers to celebrate and even a happy birthday message written in chocolate! Absolutely recommend the rooms with a sea view, it really doesn’t disappoint at all! The larger rooms are well worth it, tons of extra space and let you really appreciate the design of the rooms. Spa is absolutely worth the money, it was £10pp per stay when we went, and it was brilliant. Restaurant is downstairs and offers one of the best continental breakfast selections I’ve ever seen, so much fresh fruit!
Had an amazing little get away. The room was great and the spa was lovely!
A wonderful stay all round- a great spa!
The spa was the best. The area was quite lively both day and night time, with lots of activities options. Only downfall was, had to park car away from the hotel and was quite expensive. But loved the stay in Harbour hotel.
.
Lovely stay. Spa is fab, breakfast was good. Paid for a seaview room which was nice but the building is old and the windows are a bit rattly. Huge bed and a couple of armchairs took up all the space in the room.
Harbour Hotel is great and we’ll definitely stay again. The location is brilliant. Our room was small but fine for a one night stay. The spa has lovely facilities the only thing is it’s difficult to swim in the pool when guests stand in it and chat! That’s not the hotel’s fault though. The sauna is really hot which was awesome. Lastly, the breakfast was perfect and there was plenty of choice.
The spa was amazing
Excellent hotel and service from staff. Would be nice with a leaflet in room with important details (ie spa openings and rules). But overall brilliant.
Great sea view with very good value for money.
