Provider-sourced guest reviews.
We just returned from a week at this hotel. We paid for a Sea View 'Preferred' room which gave access to the Infinity pool. I felt the room was pretty small, compared with other hotels we've stayed at, and the beds were really hard and uncomfortable. We liked the Infinity pool, as it was warmer and we could watch our 8yo daughter swim more easily. But people would leave towels or belongings on their sunbeds so there weren't many options for spots. Knowing this, a few days into our stay, we went down to the pool early, sat there for an hour then left some things on the sunbeds to go and get some breakfast. When we got back, our things were gone and there were other people sat on our sunbeds. We were told by other guests that hotel staff had come down to the pool and removed people's towels and things and taken them away. There was no warning or information about where our things had gone. We had to go up to Reception and wait for half an hour to talk to someone, who retrieved our things and spoke sternly about how we shouldn't reserve sunbeds. But literally EVERYONE does it there. In the few days we'd been at the hotel, it was clear that that was how things worked. People reserved spots and if we wanted to supervise our daughter swimming, we needed to do the same. There were no signs about this around the pool either. But it was really unacceptable to have our things moved without leaving any word about where they were being taken. And by the time we'd finished talking to reception staff, an hour of our morning had been wasted and we had nowhere to sit close to a pool. That took the shine off the stay because we were too anxious to leave our things anywhere, despite EVERYONE else doing that. (The people who took our seats continued to grab that spot and routinely kept SIX beds for TWO people and occasional family members). One day I blew up a small inflatable ball to play with in the pool with my daughter. The guard quickly shut that down - no balls in any pool aside from the waterslide one. No signs about that anywhere, of course. We found the service lacking across the stay, waiting for 5 minutes alone at the Infinity bar without being acknowledged was common, very slow service at the Bluewater Grill. Luckily there are loads of great restaurants within 5 mins walk - the hotel's location was really the saviour of our stay. On poor-weather days we hired a car and did the tourist sites - which worked out much less expensive. The Timanfaya tour is not for anyone with travel sickness. They put you on a coach and wind up and down on tiny roads next to steep drops. The coach-driver was amazing but I was glad to get off. The best things to visit were the Cactus garden and the Cave pool. The latter was absolutely stunning and you could eat there too. It's sad that we had an average stay but it just shows how hotels enforcing blanket rules only occasionally can ruin people's experience. We were made an example of, which was embarrassing and unnecessary. To cap the trip off, the airport is absolutely awful leaving. We flew with Easyjet and the queue was HUGE to check in. It took us 90 mins to get to the front. Then the process getting onto the plane was really slow. Our flight was eventually cancelled because of a faulty plane and the next day we had to do it all again - 90 min wait, people boarding in dribs and drabs because everyone had to pass through security again at the gate. It's safe to say we won't be coming back to Lanzarote.
Yesterday I took part in the cocktail demonstration with Laszlo and Aljssa who both made it fun and enjoyable experience.
We went as a family of two grandparents three parents and two children 6 and 9. We had an amazing time staff all lovely and helpful animation team are Lovely and the kids club staff kind and fun for the children. Our rooms were great and we had three triple rooms with great showers. Rooms cleaned well daily. Food was excellent in both Alma Carte restaurants And buffet bar staff make Great cocktails inside. outside by pool bar has pre-made cocktails. we all had a great time we went all Inclusive and it really is with the exception of high premium spirits. Lots of activities to do if you want and no pressure if not. The ones we did we really had fun rifle Shooting archery cocktail making some yoga and Pilates we some Highlights for us. Highly recommend
After visiting this hotel 3 times previously, I have to give some feedback on our experience of staying at Dreams Playa Dorada in February 2026. Firstly, I must commend all the hardworking staff there, particularly the animation team Saray, Niels and also Alyssa who did the glass jewellery session. In the restaurants, Barbara was also very friendly, professional and helpful. Now onto other points; Although, like on previous occasions, we had paid for the All Inclusive Preferred Club, we felt that the hotel was downgrading the benefits this used to provide, at an increased price, which on reflection, we felt did not provide value for money. We felt that the rooms weren’t as well serviced as before, particularly in terms of the plunger-operated toiletries, which were describe as being luxury. In the Preferred Club lounge, there used to be beers or cava at certain times, but this is no longer the case. At lunchtimes, the lounge was so full it was impossible to get a seat, although this was possibly made worse by the bad weather and that the Preferred Club tariff now also allows people to have breakfast only, or half-board, which allows the lounge to be used for free sandwiches and snacks for lunch. The bars used to also offer crisps and olives, but now the only snack are a hard nut selection. The bar also used to provide fino sherry, but this is no longer available. Despite the sports bar being listed as a venue, it never had anyone serving there. The entertainment now takes place at the bottom of the main stairs into the lounge bar area, which means you have no option but to put up with it when the weather prevents you from being outside. If you retreat to the sanctuary of the sports bar, then as mentioned, there’s no-one there apart from children playing on the air hockey table, which pings at decibel levels enough to make your ears ring. The main bar is generally closed until 5pm, but when the weather was cold and windy outside, we had to go to the pool bar for a drink. Although the hotel states it has numerous (6?) different restaurants, these are not open all the time, as they alternate in the same areas e.g. Italian and Himitsu Asian, and the Sabor restaurant is replaced by another themed restaurant, so in fact on any one night there are only 3 different choices available including the World Cafe. Unfortunately, one of our main disappointments was the food served in the restaurants, which is inconsistent. In the World Cafe we had to send back undercooked chicken from the plancha. In the Savor and Bluewater we had excellent veal on one occasion, which inspired us to have it another time, when we had to send it back because it was grossly over cooked. We also had the entrecôte steak one night which was superb and on another night one of ours was practically blue, and the other was 50% fat. We felt that the standard of maintenance had declined. There was a cracked glass panel in one of the lifts. Another lift clunked and shuddered to the extent that that we were concerned about its safety. The main door from the lounge to the exterior was broken and would not shut, so the lounge area was cold and draughty. Overall, we left feeling disappointed with our holiday, which based on our previous visits did not meet our expectations and was over priced. On balance, we felt the holiday rated as 3 star only and we sadly will not return.
Lovely place to stay and a variety of dining experiences to choose from
Thank you very much to the hotel for the lovely birthday gesture, it made the day even more special. We would especially like to thank Kelly, who at the restaurant surprised us with a dessert and sang “Happy Birthday” with my family. It was a truly beautiful and unforgettable moment. Thank you for making it so special!
Stay Dates: 20th March – 27th March Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ As frequent visitors to Lanzarote (8+ times a year), we have stayed in over 16 hotels multiple times all being 4/5-star hotels on the island. While we usually prefer small boutique hotels, Dreams Lanzarote Playa Dorada has firmly made it into our top 5. Room & Amenities: The room was very nice and well-appointed. A major bonus was the massive 70-inch smart TV. We also greatly appreciated the evening turndown service and the fact that the fridge was replenished daily. While the room itself was spacious, be aware that the shower room / wash room is on the smaller side. The Preferred Club Experience: Staying in the Preferred Club was a brilliant decision. The exclusive lounge was a great bonus for grabbing tea, coffee, soft drinks, and sandwiches throughout the day. The swim-up bar here is exceptional, reminiscent of the luxury resorts in Mexico—the best pool and bar setup we’ve seen in Lanzarote. Dining: We stayed Half Board which is a 1st as my wife got a good deal , and the food was amazing. While the Preferred Club breakfast was excellent, we found there was usually a queue to get in. We tried the main buffet breakfast on 5 occasions and, in my opinion, it was just as good. For us, it wasn't worth the wait for the private area when the main offering was so high-quality. Service & Comparison: We have stayed next door at the Barceló Playa Blanca (Royal Level) 11 times. While the Barceló is more modern aesthetically, Dreams wins on service and food. The staff are excellent; they are efficient, professional, and clearly well-trained. The staff all have a job to do and do it very well Final Verdict: We would definitely return, but specifically outside of school holidays. It is a busy family resort, and while the atmosphere is great, it would make a perfect adults-only retreat during quieter months.
Great location on the sea front. Comfortable beds and very clean rooms. 7 pools , two adults only. Infinity pool has a swim up bar. Pools are heated slightly so great to swim in. Restaurant has a good selection of food. Entertainment day and night was very good. I did a pilates class and a walk to the marina. Very tranquil areas to Lounge around. Other shops and restaurants a short walk along the sea front. Great for strolling along.
Very enjoyable family holiday. The weather was perfect. The staff were friendly and the hotel was clean. Check-in and check-out was seamless. Very enjoyable.
I came to this hotel with my son and his 7 year old daughter. It was perfect for us.A beautiful hotel. So close to the beach and marina. The rooms are very well kept, bed and pillows really comfortable. Spotlessly clean. The hotel has a lovely atmosphere. You can join in with the activities or just watch no pressure to join in. If you needed a quiet space you can easily find one. Pool bar was nice, had chill out music in the mornings. The only little niggle is that the pool with the slides for kids is so cold! We spent most of our time at the main pool which was heated. Staff are all very friendly. We will definitely go back again.
We were half board . Breakfast was fine but dinner was awful! Had to queue to get a seat. Not enough staff waiting on tables. Plates left and not collected. A couple of evenings we didn’t even manage to get a drink . Not even a glass of water because not enough staff working in buffet restaurant..We went to the Asian restaurant one night which was good. We decided to miss dinner the last few nights. Food really not good at all. Our room was beautiful . Staff were nice. If we ever go back there we would just go B&B and go out to the numerous restaurants in the area. Hotel is in a nice location and we enjoyed walks along the Promenade to the Marina. So there were lots of positives about this hotel but just avoid the chaos of the restaurant at night!
The hotel is amazing, with pools for both children and adults. My kids had so much fun at the dinosaur show, and I’d like to thank Kelly for always being attentive she’s an absolute delight.
Fabulous hotel , excellent amenities better than expected and the photos on the website so not do it justice. Room spotless and kept that way by attentive staff, great selection of food at breakfast and dinner , again great service. It was a pleasure to stay here , what makes a fantastic hotel is always the staff. Who were faultless, from check in to service and the cleaning ladies , always a smile and a bit of friendly chat. Hope to be back soon
Excellent facilities in the preferred area. Lots of food choices and house keeping were fantastic.
We stayed for seven nights in a Preferred Club swim-up room on an all-inclusive package, and overall the experience just didn’t match what we expected for a ~€5,000 stay. There are definitely some positives. The resort itself is visually nice, the location along the promenade is great, and a few staff members were genuinely excellent, especially Toni and Cris at Sea Legs and Carmen, who really stood out during the week. The casino night was also very well done. That said, the experience across the week felt inconsistent and below what we’ve had at other Hyatt properties. Housekeeping was an issue throughout the stay. Glasses were regularly left in our room for days at a time, sometimes partially cleared but never fully taken. Even after raising it, it continued, and the minibar area never really felt properly reset. Dining and service were probably the biggest frustrations. We waited around 40 minutes to be served after being seated on more than one occasion. The themed restaurants felt very similar to the buffet, and food quality was inconsistent. At Himitsu, dishes didn’t match what was described on the menu, and ingredients felt interchangeable across meals. We also repeatedly received visibly dirty glasses at restaurants, including ones with lipstick marks or residue. Staff would replace them when asked, but it became something we felt like we had to check every time. The drink program also felt limited for a hotel at this price point. For example, ordering an Aperol spritz resulted in a substitute product rather than Aperol itself. There were also some visible maintenance and hygiene issues at times, like leaks in main areas being managed with towels in public spaces, and buffet utensils being placed directly on shared food. The resort overall felt understaffed, especially during peak dining times, which seemed to drive a lot of the delays and inconsistency. Staff often looked rushed and stretched. We did raise concerns during the stay. The team was polite, but the resolution offered was minimal and didn’t really address the broader pattern of issues across the week. After returning, we followed up with the hotel directly and received a detailed response focused on procedures and standards. It didn’t really acknowledge the overall experience or how far the stay fell short, and it felt more like a justification of the operation than an acknowledgment of the guest experience. A hotel can talk about its standards, but that doesn’t mean much if you can see they aren’t being consistently met in practice. Overall, this stay fell short of expectations and was disappointing compared to other Hyatt stays we’ve had, particularly given the cost of the all-inclusive and Preferred Club upgrades
Lanzarote is an incredible island, and the tours we booked were absolutely spectacular. The rooms are very well equipped, and when we requested a heater, it was provided promptly, which we really appreciated. We are also very grateful to the whole team, as everyone was extremely kind and welcoming. A special thanks to Kelly from Guest Experience, who kindly approached us to check if everything was going well during our stay such a thoughtful and pleasant gesture.
We had an amazing stay and truly enjoyed every moment. The hotel has great facilities, and Portofino was definitely the best restaurant. We’re a bit sad to leave as we have to go back home, but we hope to come back at the end of the year. Thank you to Kelly from Guest Service for her kindness we hope to see her again and little daughter Aliah absolutely loved her❤️
We were at the pool when Kelly from guest experience came over to ask how we were doing. It was a very lovely gesture, and I felt that thanks to people like her, the stay becomes even better because you can see that the staff truly care about the guests. She also guided us a bit about the daily activities, and we downloaded the app, which is very useful if you’re traveling since it includes all the Hyatt hotels.✨✨✨✨
This was our first time at Dreams Lanzarote and we would definitely return without hesitation. Although the weather was a bit rainy during our stay, we believe it adds to the charm of the island and makes it even more special. Our favorite restaurant was, without any doubt, Bluewater, where we enjoyed an excellent dining experience. We also had the pleasure of meeting a lovely Ecuadorian lady named Kelly. We truly appreciated the opportunity to speak with her, as she has extensive knowledge about South America. Thanks to her, we feel even more inspired, as our next trip will be to explore Peru, Bolivia, Ecuador, Colombia, and finally Mexico. We would also like to mention the hotel’s adorable cat, which kept us company at times and added a very special touch to our stay. Without a doubt, this is a very welcoming hotel. We truly loved our stay.
We had a wonderful stay at Dreams and left with a very positive impression.🥹🥹🥹 …We especially want to highlight the staff service, which was excellent throughout our stay. In particular, Alejandro❤️ stood out as a very kind and warm person, always with a great attitude, which made the experience even more enjoyable…! We would also like to mention Kelly from guest service, who was outstanding in giving us recommendations and answering all our questions about the hotel. It’s a real pleasure to meet people like them.❤️❤️❤️ The room was always spotless, very well maintained, and comfortable throughout our stay….. Overall, we left with a very positive feeling about the hotel and the amazing service we received.❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️…
Kelly from guest services was very kind. I’m used to Latin warmth through my partner, and she was extremely helpful, with a very pleasant conversation. We will be happy to see her again in 2027. We also want to thank the guys at the SeaLegs bar i don’t remember their names, but they were very friendly and always available to help. :)
Back home now, and I have to say we had a wonderful vacation. Although the last few days were rainy, the hotel always provided great alternatives for days like that. The staff were consistently friendly and willing to help. Kelly from Guest Services was especially lovely and always made sure we were doing well throughout our stay. The rooms were comfortable, and the team overall was very attentive. We look forward to seeing you again at the end of 2026.
It’s our first time visiting Dreams and we would definitely come back again. On behalf of our whole family, we want to thank everyone who made our stay wonderful, especially Kelly and Ainara from Guest Experience, who were always so kind and attentive. Small touches, like the notes in our room and the calls to check if everything was okay, made the experience even more memorable. The staff truly stands out, and our stay has been excellent. It’s a shame we have to leave.
This was a last minute booking for us as our holiday to Dubai was cancelled due to the war. As we had to decide on an alternate very quickly we simply though, need a place warm and not long haul. Sort of narrowed it down to Canaries and since last year at this time we went to the Barcelo in Playa Blanca we simply decide to go there. Unfortunately it was fully booked but did see the hotel next door, the Dreams hotel. Looked nice and good reviews so we booked it. And very pleased we did! We said that the Barcelo next door had the best All Inclusive buffet we have used. This was as good if not slightly better. Plates we hot as was the food. Quality of the food and drink was very good with named brands used. We were not using the 'Preferred' upgrade option either. We saw a YT video of a chap saying he thought the food and drink was so good he didn't think it was worth upgrading. I totally agree. Another nice touch was there was no wristbands. We just had to touch our room key on a device before entering the restaurant or ordering a drink. Service wherever you ate and drank was very good. Staff were courteous and friendly. The pool area was nice and spacious. Music by the pool was relaxed and at a sensible volume. Totally unlike our last holiday in Sharm which was loud rap music mostly with frequent swearing. Not good for a family hotel. lots of sunbeds and brollies. The hotel was very busy but at no time did we have to fight for space and beds. Rooms were clean and tidy and absolutely fine. The hotel location was very good and an easy walk to the Rubicon marina or Playa Blanca central. The entertainment was generally very good. As for negative things? Not much. To enter the buffet you touched your keycard as mentioned earlier. Then you waited for a member of staff to take you into the restaurant where they simply asked where you wanted to sit. We would point out a table and they simply said fine and went back to escort the next next couple/family. This is fine but when things got busy a long queue could form. I am not sure why they do it this way. Surely they can trust someone to simply go in and sit at a table without being escorted? Another odd thing is that there is a giant TV screen where the bar and entertainment take place. This on an early evening prior to the live entertainment. This is usually a live concert. Great idea but there is no sound. The sound is background music not actually related to the concert at all. Surely it would have made sense to have picture and the sound together? Anyway, all in all I would highly recommend.
Honest pros and cons Pros Great welcome, all staff I came across all holiday were friendly and efficient. Everywhere well maintained (no tatty scuff marks etc) Room lovely, big and comfortable. Pools nice and appear well maintained. Plenty of sunbeds - some free all day but suspect it might be an issue in school hols. Kids pool with slides much quieter than main pool with no queue at bar Free wi-fi everywhere Speciality restaurants free for AI and decent waiter service, nice change from the main self service buffet. Cons Food typical all inclusive, bland and sometimes cold - no microwave anywhere. Fab salad bar, soups, bread fruit etc Single toaster at breakfast-absolutely rubbish-took 3 passes before bread even slightly brown. Queues most of the day at main pool bar (poor staff rushed off their feet) Indoor bars all closed during day. Often queues for bar on evening with little organisation. Not enough seats in main lounge, fills up quickly after dinner. Speciality dining restaurants similar food to buffet ie bland, but service good. Drinks service in buffet on lunch and evening is hit and miss. Had to hunt for a waitress a few times to get a drink or go without. All in all lovely hotel and great staff, would come again but probably give the food a miss (or bring some nice spicy sauces with me)
We were lucky to have the only sunny week in March 2026 at this great hotel. After reading the recent reviews we were a little worried that we had made a bad choice. However, we had a lovely holiday and have booked to return to Dreams in December. We feel that the 5 star rating is optimistic and we would personally give it 4 stars. The Good Bits:- The location is excellent, right on the sea front next to Playa Dorada beach and only a 5 minute walk to the Marina. Views across the ocean to Fuertaventura are spectacular. Modern, clean and stylish reception areas. Friendly and helpful staff. A special mention for Ariadna and Luna on reception who were particularly helpful. We were welcomed with a cold drink and cold towels to freshen up after our journey. Restaurants - World Cafe, the main buffet restaurant - food of good quality and a wonderful selection, with a different theme each night. Food not always hot enough but there is a microwave. We didn’t use the a la carte options so can’t comment. We stayed on the Preferred Club basis which gives access to a small lounge with daytime snacks and non alcoholic drinks. We enjoyed this facility very much. Everywhere is spotlessly clean. The swimming pools are all heated to a very pleasant temperature, they are large and spotlessly clean. Preferred club pool towels are large, thick and fluffy. There is plenty of space around the pools for the sun beds. Most of the sun beds are in good condition (some could do with replacing though). There are two sun terraces/pool areas reserved for Preferred club clients, one being adults only, as well as the main pool terrace. Bedrooms are fairly basic with comfortable beds, quality pillows and a large TV. Nicely refurbished shower room with a separate toilet. Plenty of hot water and a rain shower, and good storage facilities in the bathroom. There are even scales to make sure you don’t put on too much weight! Towels are large, soft and fluffy. The hairdryer is a good quality, powerful plug-in type. The minibar is stocked daily with water, beer and soft drinks which is included on Preferred Club. There is a coffee maker as well as a kettle. Balcony is large with table and padded chairs. Rooms seem to be well soundproofed as we had no issue with noise from our neighbours or upstairs. No noise from the corridors. It was cold when we arrived so we were brought an electric radiator to heat the room and an extra quilt for the bed. A mattress topper is available too if required. Nothing was too much trouble and the staff do everything they can to make you feel comfortable. The Not So Good Bits:- The main pool bar plays music for most of the day which can be heard in all corners of the main pool terrace, as well as from all the rooms overlooking the main pool. It is the type of modern music which has a deep repetitive beat which we found very irritating. It is basically too loud and is turned up to unnecessary volumes when the entertainment team is doing a workout. We felt this was disproportionate for the handful of people who were taking part in the activities, compared with the couple of hundred who were trying to relax. Preferred Club guests can escape the noise by using one of the separate pool areas, although the Sealegs infinity pool area gets full very quickly and we found that people who had not paid the extra cost of Preferred Club were accessing the adults only pool area and taking the best sun beds. Nothing was being done to discourage them from accessing this area. The gate to the Sealegs pool didn’t lock so anyone could go in. Also the lock on the exit gate by the promenade is worn out and is rarely closed, so anyone can wander through from the walkway without a keycard most of the time. This is a serious lapse in security. Some of the sun beds have seen better days and do not reflect a 5 star experience. There are no changing rooms at the poolside. The toilet facilities around the hotel probably date back to the 1980s when the hotel was built and do not reflect expectations of a luxury hotel. The hotel is described as luxury which is an exaggeration. The main buffet restaurant is a little canteen-like which could be improved by breaking up the area with screens. Because it is a large empty area it is quite noisy. The tables are not laid with tablecloths which doesn’t give a quality feel. The evening shows don’t start until 9.30 which is much too late for us, so we didn’t see any of them and can’t comment on their quality. We had a few queries with reception which could have been easily explained if we had initially been advised to download the hotel app which has all the hotel programmes and information. This was maybe just an oversight by the male receptionist. In conclusion, we can thoroughly recommend this hotel, but just don’t expect 5 star luxury. The only downside for us was the loud music almost everywhere.
I stayed here on half board basis in a preferred club Ocean view room for a week in February with my mum and a 5 night stay with my husband in March. Mum and I booked separate rooms but requested that they be beside each other which was noted and accommodated by the hotel. Although this was much appreciated, we were a bit underwhelmed with the 'ocean view ' which was more car park/wasteland and some marina and preferred pool with a bit of a side sea view! My mum is 76 and I didn't want to put her through the hassle of trying to get out rooms changed so we stayed put for the week. I did email and say to reception staff that the view wasn't what we were expecting given the increased price and asked for a better view for when I returned 2 weeks later with my husband. This was accommodated and we were delighted with the improvement on the ocean view - room 1217 which is looking out over the right hand side of the promenade and beach area. Mum and I were 2239 and 2240 looking over the left side. Choice wise, it depends on what you enjoy but I personally prefer seeing beach life and not particularly boats! Please also note that Playa Blanca has an annual festival around the second week of March and goes on for about 4 days. Friday night was like trying to sleep in the middle of the big stage at Glastonbury and it went on until after 4am. The noise was excessive and room 1217 on the right side of the hotel was getting the full blast of it as it's held in front of the Princess Yaiza hotel next door. I rang reception at 2am asking what time it was finishing and was told around 3am!!! The fireworks started around 4am!!! It would have been useful to have been warned about this by Jet2 and also the hotel in advance because at least you can buy ear plugs and get to bed earlier or have the option of booking at a different time of year. Cleanliness of rooms and hotel was excellent. Rooms are kitted out really well with toiletries, toothbrush, comb, razor, slippers and robes etc. Tea and coffee facilities and mini bar was re-stocked every day. Housekeeping did an excellent job daily. Food - a bit of a mixed experience, buffet can be good and not so good on certain days. We went to the Portofino Italian and it was pretty good standard with generous portions. Can't comment on the other restaurants as didn't go all inclusive. Hubby and I ate out at the marina one evening at Le Petit Jardin as a treat. There's plenty of choice within a 15min or less walking distance so if I went again I'd book bed and breakfast but still book a preferred room as the lounge was well stocked with snacks and sandwiches plus non-alcoholic drinks/tea/coffee etc. Note: no alcohol is included in lounge area, only beers in the mini fridge of preferred rooms. We stayed at Dreams Punta Cana in Dominican Republic and the lounges there did have alcohol. This needs to be made more clear in the hotel description for this place and also by the tour companies ads. Bar service was slow at times only because there weren't enough staff. The staff worked very hard throughout the hotel areas, just felt like there were queues for drinks and sometimes food that could be avoided with better staffing levels. The spa was fantastic! One of the cleanest and most modern spa spaces I've been to recently in hotels abroad. It's all indoor but feels very bright and spacious, even when busy. Exceptionally clean and well maintained. Gym was decent for hotel abroad, enough equipment for me but hubby wanted weights racks which were lacking. Pools and grounds were lovely, well kept and clean. Pool towels were readily available using the tokens given at the start of each holiday. There is a station for them at each pool. Preferred pools have dark brown and normal pool is a beige colour. The attendant sometimes asked for room numbers if they spotted anyone with a beige towel in the preferred pool areas. This should probably be made more clear at point of check in as the lady who checked us in said that pool towels were only available at the main pool even though I did ask if they were available at preferred pools - she told me no which turns out was wrong information. I did feed this back to the hotel. On check in it doesn't seem to matter if you have a preferred booking or not, all reception staff service everybody, even though there's supposed to be a separate area for preferred guests - bit pointless unless extra staff are manning the different areas. The price we were quoted to upgrade from half board to all inclusive was an extra 84 euro per person per night. It wouldn't have been worth the extra expense for us because we don't eat and drink enough to justify that price. Overall the hotel is of a very good standard, areas for improvement would be the food offering and the cocktail drinks (some were definitely watered down! Pina Colada at the sea legs pool!) - personally don't think the all inclusive would be worth the cost and especially with so much choice in Playa Blanca. We would return but at a different time of year and bed and breakfast only. Special thanks to Ariadna on reception for being so lovely and friendly!
Third time at this hotel & despite some positives we won't be returning. Staff as always very nice but the standards have dropped overall - "preferred club" is not as good as it used to be - breakfast reheated like a works canteen & not the best quality - didn't help they put us in probably the noisiest room in the hotel - it happens but preferred really? Walls wafer thin with a nice view of some dirt & a wall - must have been next to the clearing house for the cleaning team & its trolleys - no need for a wake up call - not a patch on the Volcan c'est la vie 🤷♂️
Very average not worth the money!!! For the cost of the preferred club rooms. All inclusive food not good. Designed more for an older crowd.
I must say that my experience at the hotel was extremely disappointing. From the very beginning, nothing lived up to expectations. Several of the waiters were rude and unprofessional, the pools were cold and not inviting at all, the evening shows were terrible, and the music was played at extremely high decibels, which was very uncomfortable. The food was, without a doubt, the worst we had during our vacation. At reception, a blonde staff member seemed to struggle when handling situations and providing clear answers, which only added to the frustration. We tried not to generate discussions, but at some point we were simply wishing for our vacation to end. When we spoke with César from Guest Experience, the only thing he offered were “compensations,”, as if that could make up for all the issues we experienced during our stay. The only good thing that stood out was some of the staff: Juan Luis from the bar, who is very kind, spoke with Rocio and I must say she tried to do what she could to solve things. Also Kelly, a very kind and cordial, Carlos, a very polite and gentlemanly, Lucia a decent waitress, and Angely, who was always friendly and courteous. Unfortunately, apart from these few people, the rest of the service leaves a lot to be desired. The organization of the hotel is poor, the atmosphere is not pleasant, and many things seem neglected or badly managed. In short, our vacation turned out to be a big disappointment and we would not return to this hotel nor recommend it.
We must admit, it was with a degree of trepidation that we arrived at the Dreams Hotel. This was due to reading a few negative reviews of the hotel and the upcoming weather forecast! Our late arrival at the hotel, due to spending 2.5 hrs trying to pass immigration (even though our biometrics were already in the EES system) did nothing to lift the feelings. However, we were warmly greeted with a glass of fizz and shown to our room, which was lovely and enjoyed a sea and pool view. In spite of the rather disappointing weather, our stay was lovely. The food, facilities, entertainment and service were excellent. We have been fortunate enough to stay in many hotels around the world and we felt very comfortable at Dreams Lanzarote. Due to the unfortunately cool weather, we asked for a heater for the room and one was provided. Our only complaint perhaps, was that the toilet was sometimes difficult to flush!! The staff were both courteous and helpful. The hotel's pools were great for swimming and the location is brill for the beach and marina. Yes, we were staying Half Board and Preferred Club but we are sure that we would have received the same courteous service regardless. We would certainly go back (assuming the airport efficiency is improved!)
Nice, clean. Room was lovely. Breakfast good.
Lovely friendly hotel, the walls are thin, you could hear every conversation, toilet flush from the next room and some nights other guests were noisy. Clean rooms & friendly staff. The plants on our balcony were completely dead and had fags in them. The food had lots of variety, but not alot for fussy eaters as there was not alot of plain food, everything had either a sauce or vegetable on it or in it, so was hard for my son to find things he liked. Alot of faff when seating guests. I feel like it was a waste of time. I do believe a few nights I did not get offered a drink because they were trying to seat guests at tables especially when it was busy. Beautiful hotel and staff were friendly. I just feel some things lacked in some areas. The best thing was the closeness to the beautiful beach and walk along the promenade.
Only two tiny bars open in the entire hotel (at any one time) with almost no staff to service the entire hotel - spending £500 a day to have to go outside for a drink in a plastic cup during the day and queue for 20 minutes is a joke… really poor they could do so much better and it would not cost much… at 3.30 I asked for a drink inside and was told I needed to go to the outside pool bar - really 5 stars.. all inclusive? Staff are friendly it’s not their policy but worth knowing before you book…
Fabulous February break away from bleak uk.
We stayed at this hotel as a family of 8. My daughter is coeliac so can’t eat gluten. You have to pre order meals for any dietary requirements and stipulate the time you’d like it and in which restaurant. The problem comes when you arrive in a restaurant and request the pre ordered food. We had regular waits of 45-60 mins for my 9yr old daughter’s food. The staff make you feel like you’re mithering them and keep telling you the kitchen staff are busy etc. The rest of our group had finished their food by the time my daughters arrived. I asked the duty manager if the ice cream was gluten free he rolled his eyes told me he didn’t have time to check and walked away. He came to my table 15 mins later and rudely said it was gluten free. None of our group enjoyed the food. It was often lukewarm and sometimes the meat was undercooked. On one of the days I had paella and found a large black hair in it. I told the duty manager who smiled and quickly whisked it away. The hotel is clean staff are continually cleaning. The room was nice and big with comfortable beds. Cleaned daily to a high standard. It’s hit and miss if you get to change your towel at the pool as they regularly run out. Some Of the towels we had had seen better days. Always plenty of sun beds around the pool. But they too have seen better days and are uncomfortable. There were big queues at the pool bar. They seem to have closed the main bar during the day. This hotel is definitely not 5 star. More like 3 star. With the all inclusive package you don’t get the premium spirits you have to pay extra for them.
Friendly, airy and comfortable. My husband is a wheelchair user and we found both the hotel and the sea front location very accessible. Ramps and lifts everywhere. Our room overlooked the main pool. Family friendly hotel so it was pretty busy and lively at half term. We really enjoyed the smaller Sea Legs pool and bar but found the Sugar Reef bar and pool a bit exposed. Breakfasts were delicious and we made full use of all the restaurants in the Marina. Staff have been very friendly and helpful. The hotel is lovely and clean. This felt like a great value trip!
We recently visited the hotel, this is not a 5 Star Hotel more of a 3 star at a push. We visited for five nights and left early! The food is awful! We found the staff to be rude. The safe in our room did not work. Getting a towel for the pool is an experience in its self! They run out constantly.Do not book this hotel expecting any more than a 3 star hotel. The sun loungers are so dirty, the kids pools are dirty so much litter around the pools. If you have small children and use a pram you can not access the football pitch and playground as it is up a tall flight of stairs. We found the lifts to be faulty. When I spoke to the Jet 2 Rep she even said " This is not a five star hotel, it is more of a down to earth three star". The food in the restaurants was worse than the buffet. Please do not book this hotel! I was told at reception when checking out " It was a me problem and not a them problem"
First class in all areas. Staff, accommodation, food and facilities superb.
Couldn’t recommend the hotel enough. It’s in an ideal area, about 30 min taxi ride from the airport and ideally located in Playa Dora , between the busy end playa Blanca and the less busy end of the marina and easy to walk to both ends along the promenade. We booked a last minute stay (bed and breakfast) as had a few days off work , which did lie within the school half term so prices are always a little bit more and more kids around. But was we arrived we were greeted with a glass of fizz and was upgraded to the “preferred club” which entitled a separate rooms of the hotel on the side with access straight to the adults only perferred pool. We did have to walk round the side to collect towels and the main pool was a lot busier. The pool we were at was a lot quieter and more tranquil. Rooms were very clean / tidy. Toilet and shower separate but really no hassle at all. People mentioned the smell of sewage from the plot of land next door. But from the hotel we couldn’t smell this. Only when we walked passed along the promenade between the two hotels. The breakfast on the morning (Perferred club have a separate restaurant) was amazing. So much to choose from (I’d have had all of it if I could). As we were in bed and breakfast that did us for the day and ventured out for our evening meals. We also visited the Papagayo beach coast, taxi driver dropped us off and we walked along the coast to a choice of 3/4 beaches. They were stunning and beautiful but would have to be actively fit to reach them. You can get by road but the road access isn’t great and most taxis dont like going down. We then walked back from their to hotel. About 3km. Being active we did multiple runs along the promenade , around the roads and up some of the hills. All very accessible from the hotel. Everything was clean and tidy from where we were and everyone was so helpful and smiley. Recommend and we loved the “preferred club” benefits, especially with it being half term and being a couple without kids.
Jessica was great fun at the yoga session today. Absolutely lovely experience followed by a Mojito! 😁 we will be back for more!
Nice hotel..food not 5 star..disappointed..plus didn't realise you had to be preferred to use other pools..
We recently returned from an incredible stay at this hotel, and I can honestly say it is one of the best family-friendly resorts I have ever experienced. From the moment we checked in, the atmosphere was welcoming, but what truly sets this place apart is the incredible Animation Team. The energy they bring is infectious! Unlike other resorts where activities can feel forced, the team here is genuinely passionate about making sure everyone—from toddlers to grandparents—is having a blast. Our kids were obsessed with the miniclub games and the mini-disco in the evenings. The facilities are top-notch and the rooms are very comfortable, but it’s the staff and the non-stop entertainment that make this hotel a "must-visit" for families. If you are looking for a place where your kids will be constantly engaged while you actually get a chance to relax, this is the spot. Thanks to Saray, Zac, Jessica, Brigitta Niels and Laszlo for this amazing experience. We are already planning our return for next year!
The staff were always friendly and helpful. Especially Reception and Guest Help Desk. My friend broke her hip at the beginning of the holiday which was an awful shock for both of us. As well as visiting the hospital I also had to deal with all the logistics of dealing with UK Insurance plus the hospital in Lanzarote. The staff were there for me when I was stressed and helped in any way they could. I will always be grateful for the genuine warmth and affection shown to me during my stay and I can honestly call them my friends. The hotel was very clean and well maintained. All the bar staff were attentive and I never had to wait to be served. My bedroom and balcony were always cleaned and tidy. Whenever meeting maids we smiled and exchanged greetings. In general I thought the food was good, plenty of variety something for everyone. The Sabor and Blue Grill were my least favourite speciality restaurants. I felt the restaurant lacked atmosphere and needed brightening up plus the food was not as good as I had hoped. However the Italian and Asian restaurants were very good both in food and atmosphere a few more tall plants would give the restaurant a more elegant atmosphere. The hotel is positioned in one of the best locations in Lanzarote. The swimming pools and sun beds leading down to the sea are in the most beautiful setting. Despite the unfortunate start I really enjoyed my time at Dreams and many thanks to everyone.
We originally planned to stay at Princess Yaiza but they only had availability for 6 nights so we booked Dreams as it is next door. We thought this would give us an opportunity to make a direct comparison between Yaiza and Dreams. The rooms were very clean and housekeeping outstanding. We had the unlimited luxury package which was about the same price as Princess Yaiza but the mini bar, although meagre, was a step in the right direction. The pools are very good and the pool drinks excellent. We enjoyed swimming and participated with the beverages. All very agreeable. Breakfast is good, lunch is better, evening meals outstanding. The food and drinks was a real plus as we usually eat at the many local restaurants and enjoy beers in the sports bars. In Dreams they open the sports bar for special sporting events and this was brilliant. Have to say Dreams was really the business, fully inclusive well worth it and staff helpful and friendly everywhere. Decent entertainment at night as well which we enjoyed. Will come back in January 2026 and try again, I think a 4 or 5 day break would be perfect.
Hotel is absolutely awful more like a 3☆ at best I paid for an upgraded room with a sea view and got the car park as a view on the back end of the hotel where all the children are. This was supposed to be a romantic weekend for me an my partner. The food was terrible in the main buffie so We went to the al a carte restraustrant and it was just as bad un cooked cold old food awful. The hotel is really behind on decor with its ugly green paint and terracotta tiles the pool area is dangerous with loose chipped tiles my partner fell on a tile that lifted whe she stepped on it. Thank god we only booked this for 3 days do not come to this hotel the waiters do nothing for you its all self serv the food is awful and the hotel is less than a 3☆ absolutely awful
Not a 5 star hotel more like a 3 star, I booked the hotel for my wife's birthday as it was supposed to be a 5 star hotel , the hotel was clean staff friendly but food is terrible the food in the buffet restaurant is not good the meats are cut thin and are hard and chewy the chicken is in slimy juice and fish is about the size of your big finger the staff cooking are young and inexperienced and cooked poorly and have to wait and que for it to be cooked by then the rest of your food is cold and same food for lunch and dinner, there was no ham just salami type meat the soup was made from the leftovers from the day before which was not very appetizing , the other restaurants were terrible we ordered ribs and steak which was cold they apologized took it away but was just the same when they brought it back so we walked out and left it, we ate out every night. the location is good but the adjacent plot of land smells strongly of sewage as you walk past towards the marina and another guest said the smell of sewerage from the adjacent plot of land is overwhelming and comes into the rooms on that side of the hotel, the rooms toilet is separate from the shower room and dose not have a sink to wash your hands so needed to walk out the toilet into the shower room to wash your hands there was only one chair with no mirror for my wife to sit and put makeup on the only mirror was inside the door, the toilet was noisy and no toilet brush the entertainment is only for an hour but is horrendous starts 9.30 and finishes at 10.30 and is held at the bottom of the stairs with a made up stand which is made up every night for the acts to perform on i would not recommend this hotel to anyone or to my friends as it is not a 5 star hotel
The best part of this hotel stay was the location. We found this to be perfect. Very centrally located to get to both the marina and the restaurants on the other side. Check in was easy. We booked a preferred room and we overlooked the main pool on the ground floor. Whilst the location was very convenient, it didn't feel like any kind of upgraded room. The beds were very very hard and I asked for a mattress topper. A man at reception took a note of our room and said it would be added. It wasnt. I appreciate I could have gone back to re-request but this should have been done the first time of asking. I also didn't rate the preferred room pool (Sea Legs). At times it was very crowded and didn't feel like it was worth the upgrade. It was also being painted whilst we we there so certain sections were out of use. The gentleman who was handing out towels tried to be helpful but had no knowledge of English so couldn't communicate. The staff were OK but definitely not what you would expect from a 5 star hotel. Overall, its a great base but I wouldn't go expecting 5 star service/luxury
Hotel is in a good location and is clean staff are friendly drinks are branded and full measures. Food is repetitive same food for lunch and dinner and soups are made from leftovers The lady cooking eggs at breakfast was washing the pan then proceeded to cook the eggs with dirty dish water dripping on the cooking area. The coco cafe was ok The toilet in the room has no wash hand basin and is separate from the shower room so if you use the toilet and someone is using the shower you can’t wash your hands also the toilet is very noisy. The main pool needs painting as the bottom has black patches on the bottom. The entertainment is not great the lady who sang Motown was good but the rest of the entertainment was not worth watching. The walk back to the room is possibly dangerous for kids as should they climb up they could possibly fall down a high drop if on the 3rd or 4th floor On the whole the hotel needs a refurbishment and not 5 star
We’ve just returned from 11 nights at Dreams Hotel, which we booked to celebrate a special birthday, expecting 5-star luxury. While the hotel has some really lovely aspects, it unfortunately doesn’t live up to a true 5-star standard. The pool area in particular is in need of serious attention. There are broken and cracked tiles around the main pool, crumbling tarmac pathways, peeling paint on walls, and old sun loungers — not what you would expect from a luxury resort. On a positive note, the rooms were nice, with a good shower and large, quality towels. We also really enjoyed the food. We were all-inclusive and loved that you didn’t have to book the à la carte restaurants in advance. The food quality was excellent and, in our opinion, the best part of the hotel. The staff were also very friendly and helpful throughout our stay. Overall, we had a good holiday, but the hotel really needs a major revamp of the pool area to justify a 5-star rating.
Great location between town and marina which is one of the few positives we could find other than the friendly staff. Overall we were disappointed by the hotel for many reasons and don’t reckon it’s five star by any stretch of the imagination. We had booked a preferred sea view room but in reality this overlooked the pool with the sea in the distance. Upgraded to a suite with a sea view which was nice but a wee bit overpriced. Both rooms were a bit dated but clean. Strange set up with separate toilet without handbasin! It would appear that about 50% of guests were on preferred packages so not exclusive in any way as much of the publicity suggests. Breakfasts were not particularly good with the supposedly hot food lukewarm at best and sometimes just plain cold. The food in the preferred club snack bar was repetitive and unimaginative. Our biggest problem was however the smell of sewage. On several evenings we were driven indoors from our balcony by the stench. We were on the side of the hotel away from the notorious promenade smell so that wasn’t the cause. On occasions the smell was also evident in our room and corridor leading to reception We didn’t eat in the hotel in the evenings as we had booked b&b basis , but when we returned during the entertainment we found this not to be very good. Because the entertainment was in the main atrium there wasn’t anywhere to have a quiet nightcap and in any event the service was slow in the bar. A hotel of this size should have another option should you not wish to listen to entertainment. We are unlikely to return
It’s 3*. Food is awful. Rooms are rubbish. Our loo didn’t have hand washing facilities and I didn’t have a bedside table!!! Staff are lovely and clearly hate the management. They do the best they can and everyone we met was lovely
Great hotel in a great location. Its very central and very close to the beach and many other bars and reataurants.Overall a lovely holiday here.
From the moment you arrive at Dreams you are greeted with warmth and smiles. From the moment we checked in till the day we left we were impressed with the entire team and how looked after us. The food, entertainment and standard of accommodation was excellent. There was a proper professional act each night, not just the hotel staff doing a show. We will certainly return, this is our second stay here and both times it has been outstanding
Fabulous hotel in a stunning location. Just what the doctor ordered!!! Would recommend to any one looking for a relaxing chilled week in the sun
We had a lovely time at dreams, we came in j2 and picked a sea view which turned out o be one of the best rooms in the hotel which never happens to us. With this came an upgrade to preferred Club which I new nothing about but it gives you access to a lounge for snacks for free and all the mini bar in room free as well. If I had a minor jiggle the entertainment was just to late for us 9.30 ! And you have an app to sign on to find out what's on. Which we couldn't be bothered with. This could all be put on in your room on the tv would be useful I would.suggest. Anyway, fantastic staff lovely rooms good food. Great position. I would definitely return.
Having stayed at the ‘Secrets’ hotel earlier in the year and Dreams being of the same chain/Brand and star rating my review maybe somewhat based on comparison as to what we were expecting. Booked direct with Hyatt All Inclusive, 2 adults 1 Child All Inclusive Family Room, 15th to 29th Dec Arrived to the hotel at 11.30am, greeted well at reception, cases taken and was able to use hotel facilities. Was aware before hand that check in is 3pm and unfortunately our room wasn’t ready until 3pm (tip - take a charge of clothes/footwear in hand luggage to change into if travelling in British winter clothing!) Family Room - king bed & 2 single beds, plenty of room. Overlooked car park / entrance but expected this as didn’t upgrade to pool view. Good amenities provided in rooms. Table and chairs on the balcony. Tip - Choose a top floor room if you can, the sound from rooms above & hallway echo in. World Cafe - Buffet style breakfast / lunch / dinner. Breakfast - find / seat yourself. Only on 2 out of the 14 days it took a couple of walk arounds a to find a table, plenty had not yet been cleared and was told we couldn’t sit at the few that were in the progress of been cleared. Lunch & Dinner we were seated and a waiter would come over to take drinks order. Staff service - there was a clear divide between the experienced & professionalism of the older staff compared to the younger, maybe newer staff and feel further training needs to be input into bringing newer staff upto the standards which the hotel is offering. This is in both the World Cafe and Portofino. Portofino - Ate here twice during our stay and had 2 completely difference experiences. 1st being not so great, inexperienced staff, orders wrong and no offer of dessert and the 2nd visit been excellent from start to finish. Baracuda / Pool bar - excellent staff and service throughout our stay. Pools - Excellent but if they are heated they need turning up a couple of degrees. No inflatables/balls allowed in the main pool but are in the Merlin Pool Activities - Took part in water polo, darts, archery. Good opportunity to mix / speak with others. Entertainment- Starlight is the band that sticks out and very rememberable- excellent group. Casino night is good too. Plenty of sun loungers and never had an issue finding some in a good spot Location is super. As mentioned earlier, maybe I’m comparing Dreams to Secrets too much, but I was expecting a very similar experience, therefor it was somewhat of a let down particularly the food & standard.
Love this hotel. Second visit. Stayed preferred club which provides gorgeous sea view rooms. Hotel standard of cleanliness exceeds expectation even for 5 star. We did not eat at the hotel but enjoyed the pool, room and bar. Would definitely return
Another fantastic month spent here, the card in our room when we arrived said 'Welcome Home'. We cannot fault any of the staff here, they are all amazing. However special thanks must go to Marta, on reception who organised a superb room for us. Ainara, Daniella and Sandra in guest services who are truly amazing people, they made sure everything was perfect throughout the whole of our stay. Finally, on the staff side, there is Ana in the Preferred Club breakfast restaurant whose smile, professionalism and cheerfulness is a credit to the Hotel. She and Marta work tirelessly to give guests the best morning experience possible ! We were in an ocean view room which was superb. Cleaned meticulously every day, our maid even helped me with my Spanish. The minibar was re-stocked every day with water, beer and juice by the friendliest chap who remembered us from last year and knew not to give us fizzy water, just plain, thank you. We tried all of the speciality restaurants and favoured Sabor and the Blue Water Grill. Both had really good menus with a great range of dishes that the Chef's should be proud of. In particular I had the Gratinated Scallop which was incredible, as was the salmon roll with vegetables. Unfortunately we didn't use any of the pools this year because the weather was awful. Can't really blame the Hotel for that, we have used them in the past and our favourite was the rear one with the water slides, it's much quieter there. Overall another superb Holiday. We've been coming to this Hotel for decades and it's always a pleasure.
Ideal location, straight onto the front, left to go to the marina, right to go to Playa Blanca. Public areas lovely, but an odd lounge with chairs facing a big screen showing views of the island, never seen that in a hotel before. As we booked late we had to book a preferred club room, which gave us access to the club lounge for free drinks and food. There was a pool for the preferred members, but gates were always open, so didn’t need a card to access it. Rooms were basic, missing drawer space, but did have a big wardrobe with shelves and safe. Toilet is separate from the main bathroom, it lacks any warmth in the decor. Nice walk in shower, big sink with plenty of storage on top and underneath. Towels on arrival were thick and fluffy, but on changing them, the quality went down. The bed is on casters, so make sure they are locked. Ours wasn’t which meant it moved when sat on it. Big balcony, with table and two chairs, the bedrooms are not quiet, you can hear people walking around, flushing the toilet or moving chairs. Never had this before in any hotel, so it could do with some sound proofing. There is a space for luggage under the mini bar and tea/coffee machine. The mini bar was filled daily, even if we weren’t in. There is a bed turn down service, think we had it twice, as if we were in we declined the service. Breakfast was varied and freshly cooked if you wanted eggs, etc. The cereals are near the food station for eggs, so if there is a queue for this, then you cannot get to the cereals. There is no high fibre cereals, so take your own if you need them. The only downside is being escorted to a table once you give your room number in. This is fine, until there is a long queue forming and you have to wait for the girl to come back before you can get into breakfast. A couple of times we were just waved through to find our own table, because there was such a long queue. When you are shown to a table they will put you all in one area, so you are sat very close together. They say this is to give the guest a unique personal experience, no it isn’t as breakfast is a buffet where you help yourself, not get table service. Tea and coffee are brought to your table, which is nice. There is only one toaster, so it can be a wait if it is busy. We were bed and breakfast, so didn’t use the restaurants for lunch or dinner, so cannot comment on the food. Check in and check out was quick and easy. Staff friendly and helpful. We had a problem with our air con dripping water and this was solved quickly after telling them. This isn’t a five star hotel, but it’s clean, with various options of bed/breakfast, half board, all inclusive. Plenty of pools to choose from. Just be aware the bedrooms can be noisy as there doesn’t seem to any sound proofing between the floors or walls. The rooms looking over to the marina could get the smell of sewage.
Preferred Club bed and breakfast holiday. Room superb with beautiful view. Breakfasts excellent with great variety and easy outside seating. Very friendly and helpful staff throughout the hotel. Really spacious pool areas - easy to find free sun loungers. Gym excellent with up to date and easy to use equipment. Easy walking distance to huge variety of evening restaurants.
Our 9 month old babies 1st holiday. Firstly staff are AMAZING, so hard working and friendly, couldn't ask for more. We stayed at the sister hotel on the island, adults only Secrets hotel, the year before and in comparison this hotel is needing a bit of a face lift, preferred club pool paint peeling (as per pic) and generally a bit tired. Food and drink wonderful however the only child's option was chicken nuggets and chips on the preferred club a la cart lunch menu (which we diddnt want to give to our weaning baby everyday) so we had to eat in the buffet a lot for lunch which kind of defeated the point of preferred club (I did ask if we could bring food from the buffet into PC dining room but was told this wasn't allowed) When we were at the preferred club pool we diddnt get any "table service" on our sunloungers which we did a lot at the sister hotel the year before (not a big deal but just something we noticed) Great kids pool and soft play, entertainment nightly which was great. Stand out foods was the tuna at Sabor and the Baraquitos from the cafe. Lovely to walk along the sea front between marinas. We really enjoyed our trip but if youre booking as adult only I'd recommend staying at Secrets instead and if you're booking with young children I think I would just reccoment to go all inclusive and not pay extra for preferred club
A very enjoyable few days in a lovely hotel, great location and amazing and helpful staff as usual at a Dreams establishment.
Super clean resort, à la carte menus were fantastic. The staff were welcoming. The only slight let down were the salty buffet food and the omelette not being cooked long enough.
First of all there were some great things and some poor things in our experience. The good things; The room 2038 was great. It was beside a child free pool, and was serviced well and clean. The main self service restaurant was poor. I have been in better canteens in Dublin. I was noisy and the main meals were were of a poor standard. The hotel talk about having several restaurants but only one is open any night. We had to queue every night at the restaurants, and on one night it was over 30 minutes. I would be another 20 minutes before anyone came to take a food order on average. Serving food on cold plates for dinner is unacceptable. The staff tried to be helpful but seemed to have no power to change anything. As a balance they get the breakfast wonderfully well.
This is a fantastic find of a hotel. On the beachfront with accessible walks straight from your room, a friendly atmosphere and attentive staff, you couldn’t wish for a better hotel stay. We loved it here and will hopefully be back.
Gorgeous hotel, with really friendly staff. The hotel, restaurant, bars and pool area where spotless. We loved the preferred lounge and sea legs swim up pool. We would definitely stay here again. The only small issue I had was that I had booked a sea view room and it was more like a pool view room (room 1231) Seemed a waste of money. Other than that it was fabulous.
Great location right on the beach of playa dorada , 5 minute walk to marina and 5 minute walk to bars and restaurants of playa blanca. Nice atmosphere at the hotel, for an older clientele. Rooms are nice and clean depending on the location in the building but feel they are not up to a standard of a 5 star hotel more like a 3 star. We dined at the preferred club Portifino restaurant for breakfast most mornings and felt it could have been better, you are under the impression you can sit down and order your freshly cooked breakfast but in matter of fact, you have to queue with your plate for fresh eggs... 2 mornings I waited 15 minutes for 2 poached eggs and an omlette. It was extermely busy every morning. This is a lovely hitel with a fabulous location but felt for the price that you pay and having 5 stars, you would expect to experience something special and unfortunatley it lacked that.
2nd time visiting. Very good overall, cleaning 100% but as a preferred guest- mini bar refill was a disaster. Only done once per day and if you are not there it never happens even if you ask in reception Needs to be better to justify a 5 star property
This was our first trip to Lanzarote and I’m glad I picked dreams at player Blanca, we had booked at the preferred club option and I’m glad we did. This meant we had a nice room with balcony overlooking the pools. We were on a bed and breakfast basis, but also had access to the preferred Lounge where we could grab snacks throughout the day this suited us perfectly. The breakfast was good and covered all bases with lots to choose from. I would say the quality maybe 4 out of 5 stars. The drinks and cocktails were made well and reasonably priced. And we enjoyed the entertainment when we got back from our walks and evening meals most days. New Year’s Eve was lively and we were also given free drinks and we enjoyed that too! We thought the pool areas were great and obviously having access to the preferred pool club meant it was quiet and plenty of sun beds to go round. We enjoyed day trips out to the Timofeya mountains and we did a lot of walking to the Peninsula. We hired a car for just one day and managed to do the whole island in that day when the weather was a little bit overcast Would I recommend dreams? Yes and would I return- yes I would. Thank you to hamma for checking us out swiftly and kindly. Every staff member we encountered were professional. My one bit of constructive feedback would be around the room cleanliness. They were spotless on arrival but each day after that the Cleaning was a little bit questionable however I appreciate the staff would’ve been busy over the festive periods but that didn’t detract from the overall quality and great stay that we had at this hotel.
buffet food all cold and not much selection, wifi was terrible cost us a fortune in extra data, evening entertainment was on the stairs with not enough tables and chairs, indoor pool closed, sunloungers old and dated, hotel is mostly dated. This is a low 4 star at very most it should not be 5 star hotel. bottles lager / absolute vodka etc charged extra not included on all in! was not worth price we paid ended up eating out for lunch and dinner 10 of the 12 days.
Really lovely staff, location was excellent. We stayed on an all inclusive basis over new years and food was not good unfortunately. Also disappointed that of the 7 pools there could only use 3 of them on an all inclusive basis, the rest were for preferred guests. This also goes for many other offerings. Lunch for all inclusive was just buffet which we felt was like eating in school canteen and of poor quality. There is a choice of restaurants and we tried 3 of them but they were definitely not 5 star standard and food was disappointing. The staff were all really lovely. Entertainment was plentiful but a bit too “Butlins” for us. We would not return but would advise anyone going to maybe go on a bed and breakfast basis and eat out in one of the many restaurants nearby.
Avoid avoid avoid! The worst hotel experience ever! I never write reviews but felt the need after this holiday The food is beyond awful the pools are ice cold and the extra charges are outrageous! Bed and breakfast at best or don’t book at all
Hotel was amzing staff friendly. Large pool very clean great location food was very good plenty of options. Very good with the children at Christmas
OK staff good but food could be better, they spread so many restaurants who aren't that good. Have less restaurants serving better food.
A decent hotel, but not 5 star or as nice as others on the strip. Cleanliness issues, but a very nice property, done well. Good value but your “fresh” sheets may not be clean.
This is our second team at Dreams and we decided to spend Christmas here. It was the best Christmas we’ve had- all of the staff were amazing and couldn’t have done any more for us. We will definitely spend Christmas here again.
The room was spacious and well equipped. The waiters were polite, and there was a good variety of food at the buffet. The hotel has a great location, close to the beach, the port, and shops. However, our room was not cleaned for two days. On the second day we asked at reception for housekeeping, but no one came. I understand it may have been busy, but at least the towels could have been replaced with clean ones. The room was cold, and the air conditioning only cooled.
Basic for a 5* but nice. Lovely comfortable bedrooms. Buffet had a good variety of choice. Great pools and the water slides are a fun addition. Guest relations v helpful
Staff was very friendly and generous. The pools were great, especially the infinity pool facing the ocean. We came in on a night where there was an concert performance and the atmosphere was amazing. The shower wall was a bit dirty but that's okay. The location of the resort is perfect; it's right between the biggest beach and a chain of nice stores & restaurants. Preferred Club comes with inclusive food and water all-day. Overall the value of the hotel was 100% worth the price. Thank you!
First up: huge thanks to Ariadna (front desk), Andrea (guest relations) and Vicky (front desk). We love you guys so much for being ever helpful and happy! Ari, you went above and beyond, helping me as if I was your sister. Thank you very much for the silent, invisible cleaning team. The little touches were so nice. Your hard work in cleaning not only our room but neatly arranging our own belongings was noticed and deeply appreciated. Thanks to the wonderful buffet kitchen staff who knocked out bite-after-bite of delicious, well-presented food. Our stomachs couldn't keep up with our eyes or noses. Thanks to you, I have doubled in weight and I can't believe there were weighing scales in my bathroom to remind me of that! Thanks to the activities team who put massive, genuine smiles on our faces as we experienced many fun firsts such as pranayama breathing, axe throwing, cocktail mixing and sjoelen. The water polo was crazy! Courtesy room offering to span connection between check out and departure was such a brilliant service. Evidence of the experience could clearly be seen from other guests who were buzzing with happiness. But let's talk about Bollywood dance entertainment. This is where I think things got a little bit ..... hmmmm... confused. (Feel I am qualified to comment given my Indian heritage). Saying that, entertainment was otherwise amazing! I loved every show so much that I even broke my self-imposed, public-dancing, hibernation for the first time in decades. Woohoo!
We had an incredible time at Dreams Playa Dorada. On our first day, we were greeted by Rocco at the front desk who provided us with an adapter plug . The following days, we were in receipt of a five star service from Arianna and Manuel who were extremely helpful when it came to assisting us with moving rooms. The four restaurant choices are a highlight of this experience plus the spacious outside pool areas which provide a wide variety of beverages. I highly recommend this hotel for anybody seeking a relaxing five star experience. Thank you Playa Dorada.
Kids club was amazing fun my 5 year old daughter loved it everyday she wanted to go had different activities daily thanks to valentina
Here now oh my days what a disappointment, staff in portofino literally ignores us , an hour and 29 minutes after ordering and the plates have not been cleared and waiting for the desert menu, had to ask 3 times for another drink. Asked for water with the meal and only 2 glasses between 5 of us. Asked to speak to their manager and he will be in contact tomorrow!!! After being woken up at 5.45am because of the people above who thought it was acceptable to shout at their kids and then stomp about in high heels, this is not good enough, not a dream a bloody nightmare
NOT A 5 Star Hotel for Service , or Quality of Food and Drink .. more a Two Star Hotel … BAD Experience on Check in , we were lead to better had booked a Pool View , but they said just a Standard Car Park View , they wanted a extra €600 from us to upgrade us to Pool View Room , we declined and got a room with a dirty floor and built in Dirt to the windows that I had asked three times to clean and was told the Dirt was between the Glass and not on the Glass .. the food was disappointing.. we tried all of the theme restaurant except the Italian .. the American style had tough tasteless Spanish meats and frozen burgers.. The Thai style was the worst food and service I ever experienced anywhere.. was like two year olds serving food and pouring wines , no training giving as I said certainly NOT a five Star Hotel/Experience And Finally I had a argument for 4 out of the 6 nights over being charged extra for ordering a Baileys and a simple bottle of local beer Mahon as there were NOT INCLUDED in the FULLY / Full Board including Drinks special that we paid a extra €700 for at time of booking over the B&B rate ..the last two night s I just gave up and left the resort and went to a local bar/ restaurant for our bottle of beers and baileys .. some of the staff were pleasant but a lot were also rude especially one of the restaurant catering Manager .. he and his team just let the whole resort down … we were Not felt welcome , again not the service you expected from a Hotel and the Price we paid …
Had another great holiday at Dreams , enjoy the food, spotlessly clean, lovely bedrooms. The location is perfect, a lovely beach a few minutes walk away. Entertainment is hit and miss , having said that everyone has different taste and we have seen some that we have really enjoyed . Difficult to please everyone , maybe a disco one evening where people could have dance. The staff here are amazing , I can’t name them all , but guest relations , the front desk and the chaps who take our luggage to the rooms. The cleaners who work so hard and always smiling, the staff who stock the fridge everyday and the staff in the restaurants. A big thank you to Marta , Sandra , Danielle , and all guest relations for making us feel so welcome. Erich and Wallis. Apologies but can’t remember everyone’s name. Already got 2 holidays booked for next year . Thank You

This is the 4th time we have stayed at Dreams and every time we enjoy our stay. The hotel is centrally located snd has not only the main self service restaurant but a number of restaurants either waiter service. The food is good for me as being a vegetarian it has a good selection of options at all meals, We enjoy the Preffered Club rooms which gives you access to more pools and you receive water, coke, orange juice and beer. All the staff are excellent and look after all their guests very well. It was my birthday while at the hotel and without any prompting I received a letter, a cake and a small bottle of cava in our room. Thank you so much guests experience team. We love this hotel and will be back.
Absolutely avoid. Food is terrible quality. Hardly anything available to customers unless you pay for "preferred club" at a ridiculous premium. Very miserable staff. Air conditioning in 3 rooms faulty for a full week, ceiling dripping the entire time and unresolved after a week. Many more issues with the hotel simply do not waste your money here.
Large hotel in good spot, approximately halfway between the marina and the town. Nice entrance with, while we were there lots of beautiful lit up Xmas trees. The Christmas decorations were spectacular. The staff were very friendly, including Jorge in the various restaurants who rushed around and who I said I would mention. The food was fine but what kind of hotel runs out of butter and only had margarine and then runs out of the decent, all inclusive rioja? We had a great view from our room though it was a long trail down the corridor. It had been modernised with a huge tv but a small shower room and a separate toilet, old fashioned and unhygienic Plenty of hanging but few drawers. This the third Hyatt hotel we have stayed in this year and the poorest of them, but the other two were 5*
I always wonder about going back to a hotel you have been to before but I needn't have worried as it was just as wonderful as our visit 18 months previously. We love it for the A l a Carte Restaurant dining every night if you want on All Inclusive Plus, the free daily replenished Mini Bar with Crisps. The wonderful efficient and really friendly staff. The wonderful daily different and varied Aqua Classes. Entertainment which I have read some criticism about is varied from the very good to a couple of not so good. We really liked Pavarotti and Friends who we saw twice last time and once again this time. The 4 Beats are very good also a girl group called the Glitter /Dream Girls. A lady singer and a Rock Group called Starlight. Bollywood was good to with a modern music twist. Flamenco is not really for us but even that was modern. Also an alternative Casino Night, no money involved and great fun. There is something on every night for an hour and nice to chill to after a lovely meal in a choice of 2 of the 4 A La Carte restaurants. [Put those bathroom scales away in your room after all that wonderful food !!] Special mention to the lovely Nora who ran the pool classes almost every day, helped by Pablo for one of the many days I attended the class. The Barracuda pool was heated all the time we were there this time. Last time at the end of April it was heated the first week but not the second going into May. Restaurant staff Emmanuel and Diego were brilliant and bar staff and also Sandra and Ahmed who wasn't there as much tis time but remembered us from our last visit. Many more staff who speak to you every day you pass them and even the lovely Angelica who cleaned our room most days. Thank you so much everyone for making our visit so special once again.
We have stayed here a few times now but unfortunately the experience wasn't as good this time although we did enjoy the stay. Lighting could be better at night near the gate onto the front, the music or should I say noise that was being played by the pool was for teenagers at a night club not the average age of people staying of about 60. Also yet again there were plenty of channels on TV for Spanish, French and German only 2 news channels for British. Although the hotel is a very nice one it isn't in my opinion a 5*
Stayed for 5 nights at this resort in November. I was very impressed at the facilities and the space. You never felt as if anyone was invading your space. The rooms were fine although a tad dated but very clean and comfortable. We enjoyed the turn down service and chocolates every night. We upgraded to privilege and glad we did. Having access to 2 additional pools, one for adults only was a blessing although the sun loungers around this pool are particularly uncomfortable to lay on. Food and drink was very good. The wines were all good quality which is unusual in my experience. The rose was particularly good. Branded drinks was also very welcome. Again, upgrading was nice so we had the additional breakfast area. So the downfalls....... We enjoyed the Italian restaurant but in 5 days, it was only open once. Why? And the real reason why I had to score a 3 was the lack of attentiveness. Sure, you are shown a table at a restaurant quickly and bought tea/coffee in the morning or wine etc. at lunchtime and evenings. But that's it. Not once did anyone ever come and top drinks up. Also, trying to get someone to clear plates seemed to be an issue. It was a real shame. It was as if once you were sat down with a drink, that was it! There work was done. This is a 5 star resort and drinks should be topped up. So would I go back? Yes! But work needs to be done on service.
Previous visit in December 2023 and have to say not quite the same experience. Not sure if this is down to the new Barcelo Hotel attracting their old staff. Location is great and the view from pool out to the sea is fantastic and hard to beat. The hotel is clean but notice the lifts between glass is filthy not sure how they clean these but needs doing. Preferred Club Lounge has gone downhill, needs hand sanitiser available on arrival. Food is dreadful - curled up ham sandwiches and the marble table could do with a good clean lots of glass marks on them. Air Con not working very well. The Rooms are ok a little tired looking but clean and fabulous views. The Manager of the main restaurant wasnt very friendly as they have been in the past and could do with a jacket that was ironed and possibly a tie to look a little smarter and more professional. The staff are few and far between and do their best - tables and drinks cleared before you finish and waiting ages to order a drink. Not the experience we have had in the past. Sea Legs pool is lovely and quiet but beds really hard and uncomfortable. Gate to the pool from main area needs to be looked at as it didnt close easily and non Privileged clients just wander in without paying the extra. I am sorry to leave such a negative review as I love this hotel but for the first time I will think twice before returning.
We have just returned from a 4 night stay and we had an absolutely wonderful time. The hotel was incredible, everywhere was always clean and the staff were so attentive. The preferred club breakfast had so much choice, the egg station was our favourite and the servers were so kind. It was my birthday whilst we were there and they treated us to champagne and a cake which was a really lovely treat. It was an amazing hotel with lovely staff and we would 100% return, already thinking about it again for my birthday next year!
Our first trip to Lanzarote was amazing. We had a great last minute deal which was very affordable compared to the ‘real’ price. The hotel is fantastic - definitely top end. The staff are lovely, everywhere is so clean. We booked bed and breakfast but took advantage of the half board option when we arrived. Our booking was for Preferred Club which was almost as good as All Inclusive without the alcohol. We particularly enjoyed the Sea legs infinity pool which was restricted to preferred club guests. The food was good in the buffet but a little repetitive. We ate at the Portofino restaurant one evening which was a delight. The location was perfect. Playa Dorada beach is a short stroll away towards Playa Blanca, and the Rubicon Marina is also close by in the opposite direction. The whole area is very well maintained and feels really safe. We’d love to come back to Dreams. It was a perfect winter break.
Excellent service and facilities. Food was good and services and poolside were excellent. Very respnsive staff in reception and maintenance Only issue was an unannounced charge to use empty sun loungers in preferred guest area. Ridiculous charge of 40 euro per lounger per day as communicated by staff member. She made us feel very unwelcome and told us to pay or move even though our preferred guest cards gave us access to the area. A sour note in another wise perfect stay. My partner lost a chain and reception were so helpful in returning it. I would highly recommend the hotel but definitely not the sun lounger experience.
Pool lovely and warm Privileged areas good, quiet and rooms in good location, ask for a mattress topper. Sunbeds average need to be padded you can hire a double sunbed but at €45 a day!! Food at buffet very average, variety day to day doesn't change and not particularly warm. Spa is CLOSED also Aircon whilst good can be noisy
Firstly, there were extensive renovations taking place throughout the hotel which we were not informed of prior to arrival. The spa was closed, there were ongoing works in the lobby, and noise was constant around the children’s pool area. The hotel’s own website advertises a sports bar, which remained closed for the duration of our stay. We have visited Playa Blanca many times and stayed in several four-star hotels, and were looking forward to a more luxurious experience. Instead, upon arrival we were so concerned that we visited three nearby hotels in an attempt to relocate, but none had availability. On arrival, towels were scattered across the lobby stairs and entrance ways due to a leaking roof and earlier rainfall. These remained in place all day until we reported the issue to reception. In the female toilets, there was no toilet paper in any of the cubicles. The children’s pool area was also unclean, with yoghurt pots and bottles remaining in the same place for two consecutive days. These were only removed after we raised the issue with Guest Experience, whose initial response was that the area was cleaned daily—something that was clearly not the case. We also had €14 taken from our room. Although the amount was small, the principle was extremely concerning. When we raised this with Guest Experience, we were told, “So you don’t want anyone else in your room then?” We were simply expecting our belongings to be secure. We later received an apology from housekeeping, who stated the money had been mistaken for a tip. Unfortunately, many staff members did not appear welcoming. We often felt like an inconvenience in the restaurants, and service was lacking. The food provided was very average and not of the standard advertised. The hotel is marketed as luxurious, yet it is clearly very dated and poorly maintained. We observed cracked and damaged tiles throughout the corridors, lobby, and pool areas, along with tiles missing completely in some parts. The lifts are extremely small and impractical. A double buggy could not fit, meaning we had to make several trips each time, which was very challenging as a family of six with young children and mobility issues. Throughout our stay, we raised our concerns multiple times with Guest Experience, reception, and management. Although our concerns were acknowledged, no meaningful action was taken to resolve them, and on several occasions the responses were dismissive.
Great Hotel in every aspect . The location, facilities, food and Staff made our staff a memorable experience. Great location for a Winter break
