Novotel Nottingham Derby

All the staff I had dealings with were great, breakfast was super. Room was clean. The outside space lets the hotel down when you first drive into carpark. Easy access from the motorway, the car park has plenty of space, so no need to worry about car park dings from doors being opened into your car. Close to main town CTR for shops and dinning out.

The room was on the bottom floor and had large laundry wheeled boxes right outside the window. The TV had no ITV or channel 4 or 5 just BBC and a few rubbish digital channels. Carpark bins were overflowing.

Clean and modern, good facilities. Large carparking.

Upon arrival waiting at the reception desk for a good 5/10 mins before anyone showed up to check us in. No hair dryer in room.

We ate in the restaurant in the evening. The food was just ok but the staff were very helpful.

Spacious room, clean and with tea coffee facilities. Nice firm and comfortable mattress and aircon. Really comfortable stay. Breakfast was good with hot food available. and variety of offerings.

Dislike the scrambled eggs option at breakfast, prefer boiled or fried eggs.

The lift was small. Easy to get stuck if in a mobility scooter. Shame the disabled room isn't on the ground floor to avoid using the lift. Staff did not know I had paid for my parents breakfast, somehow. The system failed . Big fuss at breakfast, could have been avoided, made the visit uncomfortable.

Room was really nice, spacious, with good facilities, nice comfy bed, iron and ironing board, good towels, brilliant shower (two heads) and Rituals toiletries! Breakfast was delicious, lots of choice including gluten free options. Overall fantastic value for the queen room with breakfast included.

Price of the Old Mout Cider at the bar! £8.65 a bottle! Extortionate!!

Excellent location for our needs. Very clean, well maintained room with comfortable beds. Friendly, helpful staff who allowed us to add our dog at short notice! Lovely breakfast with a range of options.

The shower extractor fan didn’t work so the bathroom became very steamy. It would also have been helpful to have a heated towel rail so that we could dry towels more easily.

Well positioned for the family event we attended. The room was spacious enough for 2 adults and a child. I would say it was clean enough but could be improved.

The rooms could do with a deep clean, carpets were stained etc. The quality of the cooked breakfast was poor, plenty of options though.

Lived in long eaton/breaston most of my life so well aware of Novotel,only when we stayed here recently did we find out what a gem it is,rooms are clean, comfortable and quiet,staff are friendly and food/service was perfect

Car park full of potholes

The rooms are very nice, decorated well, and immaculately clean. The rooms are very low cost and any other hotel in the area of the same price are run down, badly run, and uncomfortable. This is the only hotel I know of that is both inexpensive and very nice. But the best thing about the hotel is the staff. Ive been here many times and the staff are helpful, friendly, and polite. They go above and beyond to help you. I had forgotten my toothbrush and the woman on reception was more than happy to stop what she was doing to go and get me one. They speak to you like theyre happy youre there and always make you feel very welcome. I also like the free parking.

I really am a big fan of this hotel and have been staying regularly for the past 7 years. I dont have anything bad to say about it at all. It would be cool if there was a swimming pool but thats the only thing I can think of to say.

The hotel was great. However, guests should be aware that it is probably difficult to get to without a car (we had a lift so we were ok).

Just a little outdated

I stayed in an executive room, it was spacious clean. There was lots of parking and I had brought my friends with me from the US and they were so accommodating regarding late checkout and meals. Best stay!

We received a lovely warm welcome, and our room was spacious and clean. We had asked, and were given, a high floor and an even numbered room, as reviews (correctly) said these are away from the motorway side. The bathroom was well laid out with a super shower. All the linen and towels were of a high quality. The room had tea/coffee/ kettle and a fridge which was a bonus, too. Ample free parking. We didn’t eat there, but the menu looked extensive and had plenty of vegetarian options.

The aircon was a disappointment. We didn’t feel that it was there or get the benefit from it. Fortunately it wasn’t as hot as previous weeks but it would’ve been nice to have felt the benefit of aircon.

Called in advance for to request a cot and bottle sterilsation, was told this was added to the booking however no cot in room and confusion around how to sterilise bottles. Not really what I had hoped for after a 10pm check in.

Very good value for the hotel. It was super clean and was the first hotel room to have a fridge! Lovely breakfast although a little expensive for that. Really nice hotel all in all and quiet room with aircon!

The location was perfect for us as we were visiting family in Long Eaton. The staff were very nice. Breakfast was ok. The room was lovely and clean. Very comfy bed. Hotel has air-conditioning. Much needed in heatwave.

The breakfast was excellent with a good selection of fruit and cereal. There was also a good selection of cooked items but I don't eat a cooked breakfast. The staff were very friendly and helpful and provided a good service all round.

The kettle provided for room coffee and tea would have been better if it was placed near a plug!

It was very clean and the staff were very friendly especially on arrival. Breakfast was well stocked and food was hot, plus fresh options. Room was really clean and also common areas were.

I’m quite a light sleeper and found the aircon/ventilation noise loud and there were not any ear plugs available at reception

We booked a family room and found it comfortable and had plenty of space for the 3 of us. The shower and loo were separate which made it more convenient to use as a family. We enjoyed the breakfasts and it was nice to have a bar on site in the evening for a quiet drink.

We had a problem with our loo not flushing on the first night - they tried to fix it first thing in the morning but it needed a new part. We were immediately offered a new room just over the corridor which was a mirror image of the first one. The only downside was that the new room faced the motorway (although you could only hear anything when the window was open).

My stay at Novotel Nottingham Derby was very unpleasant.

My stay was disappointing due to a serious parking issue. My booking included complimentary parking, yet I was incorrectly issued a ParkingEye Parking Charge. As a result, the car rental company charged me **£104**. Although the hotel later confirmed that the parking charge had been issued in error and cancelled it, resolving the issue took far too long. I had to spend considerable time contacting the hotel, Hertz UK, and Booking.com to correct a mistake that was not mine. Unfortunately, despite booking both the hotel and the car rental through Booking.com, they were unable to provide effective assistance and mainly asked about my stay instead of helping resolve the issue. Other issue during my stay was the absence of soap in the bathroom. I reported it to the housekeeping staff, but unfortunately, the issue was not resolved.

The location and cleanliness. Inside, some of the room doors looked like they needed attention, and outside there was no road sign/hotel sign to say "Turn left now!" so we missed the turn. The hotel itself isn't visible from the road either, coming southwards or northwards. Clue - it's opposite a wee road bridge which leads to an ivy clad farmhouse.

I wish that the staff hadn't been quite so efficious. A few more pleasant smiles (although we did get one over the two days) would have gone a lonnngg way.

The facilities were very good. Room was really cool and comfy, bathroom was very tidy and aesthetic. Very good for the price point. Worth noting there was a fridge in the room too which was convenient.
