The Dinner was wonderful and so was the waiter very good
The girl at pool reception was rude and did not make us feel welcomed. The breakfast waitress said she'd take our order in 10 minutes but I had to go find her after 20mins. The breakfast was cold. The room we stayed in is very dated and rundown, old TV and the door to verandah didn't open. Spider webs everywhere and needs an update. I won't recommend staying here to anyone. Reception girl was great on check in and the bar had no staff we waited 10 Min for drink and finally asked reception another guy had to do the same thing.
The staff were lovely, location is good.
The rooms are very tired, and very dark, bed was too soft, bathroom was pretty awful really, shower was a dribble but we used the pool so showered in changing room. A bit dusty in places, very 70s/80s swiss chalet feel.
Location was lovely.
Little bit dated.
The location was stunning, a bit like centre parcs once on site
My room was nice but unfortunately it looked a bit weathered. Could do with a coat of paint. My room smelt a bit damp too, but was a good stay
Location was good and it had clean facilities.
It was tired, needed an upgrade of bathroom fittings, carpets, painting and some kitchen utensils. Very expensive for what it was.
The manager and his partner made the experience a joy.
Beds were comfortable.the facilities had been well planned but it was now shabby, unkempt and sadly lacking in maintenance.
The evenibg meal eas awful. Not well coojed, limited vegetables. Breakfast was good though.
I’ve stayed in other cabins before and never had any issues
The balcony door did not open fire saftey issue Only had one way in and one way out The bathroom blind was broken no privacy and the window lock and latch in the bathroom on was broken the cabin was next to the woodland my child was unsettled we had to leave later in the evening as she was scared. The staff on reception didn’t call back to arrange alternate accommodation or a stay another date and time in a viable cabin. I went back the next day to request a refund or another stay I was advised they’d call me the next day by 12 noon and they didn’t call I paid £209 for one night no breakfast and the facilities where out or hours and out of order I didn’t get to stay What a terrible experience
Not much! The staff were pleasant that’s about it
Staff were pleasant but the overall hotel is very tired and run down - room was very poor and unkept, flakey paint, broken tiles, very uncomfortable bed, can hear every room around the one I was in.
Lovely location and staff very friendly and helpful especially in the restaurant where they did their upmost to help me out.
Standard outdoor cabins basic but adequate. No bath in mine which was disappointing. Would say the cabins definitely need a refresh, some mould in bathroom, main room a bit grubby in places and unfortunately these are the only type rooms you can take a dog. I imagine the rooms in the hotel are somewhat nicer? Doesn't help if you have a "noisy neighbour" too but that's not the hotel's fault. Walls very thin so take ear plugs just in case!
Beautiful location, friendly and helpful staff, great facilities.
There were a few areas that could have done with maintenance
Very impressed with your staff who went over and above to provide a facility for my daughter who was on a visit from Australia to attend a wedding. However she also had an interview for a job promotion in Australia and a room was made available to her for this purpose. AND she got the job so many thanks!!
Overall the cabin was cosy, the actual hotel was beautiful and most of food was very good. Cant fault the main meals and breakfast. Service was great from all staff
The cabins could do with some touch ups, like scratched paint on doors and some scuffs/stains on the wall and a bit of an upgrade, like the bathroom, especially the flooring. The mattress was too soft for me and my partner. Did find the evening meal was a bit pricey for what you got, was delicious though, but the cake we ordered for dessert was expensive for portion sizes and dry, as saying that, we would definitely come back
Being in the woods in a nice lodge executive room. It’s exceptionally dog friendly so ideal for dog parents.
It’s right under the flight path for Leeds Bradford airport and was very noisy as it sounded as if the planes were landing right over the park.
Location is nice, staff try their hardest
Our cabin was run down and didn’t have a working shower. Moved to the lodge which was just bizzarre, run down and not very clean. Bath plug full of hair. Internet is terrible and the TVs have about 2 channels that work. Restraunt food looked awful, bar space ok but everything super dusty. Considering what we paid, not great. Also pool facilities are restricted to guests
Wonderful location with lots of excellent wildlife to see. It felt secluded yet very safe. The food was delicious.
Bathroom was a bit dated and an odd shape. I am quite a big fella I guess?
Excellent location great rooms
Location and grounds are pleasant. Nice to have a drink by the lake.
Staff completely unmotivated and generally disinterested, most of the time you have to go find them to get them to do anything. Whole place looks tired and dirty. Key cards constantly failing and locking us out of our room. Some of our family had brown water coming out the taps. Food overpriced and seemed to be cooked from frozen. Spa felt cold, wet, and dirty.
Good location
Run down bedroom. Gardner was out at 6am with noisy machines.
This was a nice cabin Clean inside and well maintained
The cabins outside look run down and in disrepair
loved the selection off tea and coffee in the room, breakfast was good value and loved the spa
bathroom had mould in it, dusty and decor is dated. Evening food 2 burgers 38.00 expected better quality , overpriced
outside area nice to walk around
rooms were basic for what it cost breakfast wasn't the best was luke warm
Staff are very helpful and place is spacious and relaxing
Door too close to each other , can hear neighbours coming in and going
Lovely and relaxing, food at the restaurant was amazing too
Unfortunately the hot tub was unavailable
Comfy bed Some friendly staff Fab location
Water cut off with half an hour warning on wedding day Hot tubs out of working order Fire alarms went off Guests we recomended had poor experiences- wet sheets/ no water or brown water/ power cut/ all offered random differebt prices for spa facilities- told it ia discretionary based on staff member???
Being in the forest in the lodge good location good facilities for swimming and sauna
The lodge could of been a bit bigger
The location is great for wood walks
Water went off whilst showering! The beds were damp and the water was brown when it came back on.
The staff were nice, helpful and friendly. Location is good, great things to do and see nearby. A mile from a brilliant pub with very good food.
Where to start.. The room was dated, worn but basically clean. The facilities are basic and again worn and would have been great a number of years ago. The worst thing for us was the bar and restaurant. Expensive for the quality offered, no care taken to any parts of the drinks or food. Poor choice of drinks and quality again. Cracks in glasses, frozen pizza bases with cheap cheese and raw tomatoes on top for £15. Pork mains with cold mash, packet gravy and no veg. The mushroom starter had one sliced mushroom in and a load of raw onion. We never complain or say anything but it was such a rip off for terrible food. I ended up going to the staff to say we were very unhappy. My son loves to play tennis, the concrete court was in a terrible state. Not been used or cleaned for many years with a holes in the nets etc. I could go on and on. We made the most of the trip and loved the area.
The hotel is very nice and clean loved the wood effect 👌 very nice
We checked in at 3 couldn't use the spa till 8 and only for an hour The shower experience was not good hardly any water from the shower head Also rooms could do with a mini fridge
The location was nice, staff friendly, polite and well organised, the bed was clean and comfortable, the cabin was rustically charming.
The room / cabin was cold on arrival, there was only one light to light the room, the windows and doors were difficult to open, bath side panel was shabby and had loose bits of wood, water pressure was terrible in the shower, there was no phone in the room although we were told to call reception on "0" from the room phone if we needed anything. We were there for one night, if we had planned to stay longer we would have complained to reception the following morning.
Staff were amazing they were so accommodating and friendly they did above and beyond
Not many facilities and electrics didn’t work so had to move
The location was stunning, most of the staff was lovely with us.
Guys please dont stay here the whole entire place needs a massive refurbishment. It is disgusting We stayed in a cabin executive suite and (there was nothing executive about it) for my birthday weekend my partner payed over 300quid for 1 night and fml its dishevelled dated theres dog scratches all over the doors as well as dirt and stained carpets and even blood on the doorframe. The food we were served a chicken starter and the chicken was raw the mash on the main was clap cold the chips burnt to death. Partner was ill all evening from only eating a tiny bit of it.Im not sure who owns this place but SORT IT OUT! otherwise nobody will ever want to stay at this place. Grimey dirty pool The only 4 good things were the woods, the waiter was lovely and polite only a young lad with braces sorry we didnt get ur name but we were disgusted with how that chef spoke to you that chef needs sacking before he poisons someone. Also really lovely bar man and the manager, lady with the crutch sorry we didnt get your name either. The fact your charging so much money for this is actually a disgrace. We didnt go back in for breakfast in fear of being ill again. Just really upset and disappointed with the outcome of the stay. If I’d have known what the place was like before booking I really would not have paid to go.
Proximity to airport. Competitive price. Staff great - warm and helpful.
No running water. Tired rooms need investment. Cooked breakfast obviously sat under heat lamps too long - dried out eggs, tomato and black pudding.
Absolutely bliss, incredible staff and facilities
Pillows a touch uncomfortable for pur tastes
The location is brilliant. The hotel is set in a beautiful area, stunning. We booked the hotel as we had arrived back after a late flight, so it was great being so close to the airport. Breakfast was lovely and the staff who served us breakfast were also lovely.
We arrived late to the hotel and had to go looking for a member of staff to check us in. The gentleman seemed surprised to find that we would be checking in, despite me emailing the hotel prior, when I made the booking, explaining that we would be arriving late after a long flight. The room had a musty, damp smell when we entered. If it wasn't so late and we weren't so tired I would have asked to change rooms, but it was nearly 4am and I just needed to sleep a few hours before an hour and 20 minute ride home. We were then woken up to the sound of loud crashing. I can only assume it was trays or metal cages. It was approx 8am, meaning we had about 4 hrs sleep at this point. The loud crashing noises went on for a while, initially I thought it was building work going on, it was so loud, but the longer it went on I could identify metal banging. The bathroom was dirty. The skirting boards were black and the shower head had skum/ mould on it. I wouldn't recommend the hotel, unless some drastic changes were made.
The woodland cabin was brillaint we paid £93 for a night which I think is excellent you get a nicely sized room and an outside area overlooking the woods , the man who was operating the spa was very nice and friendly and was working hard , the area was very centre parcs esc and easy to check in and out
Nothing :)
The accommodation site is well laid out and easy to navigate. Very friendly staff and good facilities. The food in the restaurant was fab. Our cabin was on the small side but think we had chosen a basic cabin to stay with our dog and could do with better pillows but the prosecco in the room was a lovely touch and appreciated. Would definitely come back. Great place to stay with our dog who was made welcome and we could sit in a part of the restaurant with him and walk round the site too.
Better pillows needed in the room that's all
Swimming Pool was fair size to exercise in. The place was not busy therefore checked in smoothly, choose own Breakfast time without problem. Woodland setting for cabin was nice, with plenty of squirrels. Room suitable size for purpose of the visit. Free wifi good, with good signal all around site. Staff friendly and welcoming.
Ability to use wellness facilities only between 7am-10am (same time as breakfast) and 8pm-9pm pretty poor considering your staying in the hotel. Disappointed that the jacuzzi and outdoor hot tubs were all out of action during our stay. We were forewarned but no discounts or compensation given. The gym is fairly small, with maximum dumbell size 20kg. Luckily there was a cable machine to complete a suitable workout but not great. Breakfast had reasonable selection but the cooked breakfast was overcooked on both days, the hot water for tea/decaf coffee was tepid. Not once did they ask about any allergies or intolerance so we had to check or avoid some foods (nut allergies). Accommodation was okay, and I would expect bugs etc given the woodland location, however the room was dusty, and had not seen a vacuum any time recently. Old cobwebs were built up behind furniture and the toilet.
Loved the cabin in the woodland. Very tranquil and nice to have your own front door and not be down a hotel corrider when you have a dog staying with you. Cabin was nicely decorated and bedding/towels clean and fresh. Decor a little tired and signal for TV bit patchy. The shower might not suit a taller person but for me was fine. Plenty of teas/coffees and biscuits plus the surprise bottle of prosecco was a nice touch. Was only a short stay passing through but would stay again.
That I did not stay longer.
The view of the lake was nice but restricted access due to a wedding that day.
The hot tub was dirty and not turned on, the only reason I booked the room. The bathroom sink had a large brown stain seeping from the drain hole and there was no hot water the next morning.
So peaceful amazing facilities and friendly helpful staff.
There was absolutely nothing to dislike.
Pool very good , gym very good
The jacuzzi not work and I can’t enjoy more . My experience just not 10/10 because I book this place special to do jacuzzi. And when I m there not work.
The staff are lovely - its not their fault. Feel sorry for them having to face the customers when this place isn't fit for purpose. Needs millions spent on it. The ducks and squirels are funny to watch.
See pics - they speak for themselves. This place is truly awful and an insult to paying customers. So tired and neglected throughout. Dull/no atmosphere as nobody there. Booked in haste, despite reviews, for one night before flying out from LBA - thought 'how bad can it be?' How this place is even open and calling itself a 'spa' is beyond me. We saw a handful of other customers - 2 people using resturant and 1 using the bar, and 4 at breakfast. * Room/lodge an utter disgrace* - see pics attached. Breakfast final straw when given rock-hard sausages that had clearly been re-heated from days before. 'Coffee' - not fit for consumption, cups stained. I could go on.... just thankful this was an overnight stay and not a 'holiday'.
Friendly helpful staff.
Tatty log cabin - bathroom door was hanging off its hinges and wouldn't shut (reported but not repaired), broken light fittings, every light had a different warmth of bulb, broken outdoor furniture, the front porch hadnt been swept on arrival, windows were filthy, breakfast was poor quality. Location is on the flight path to Leeds Bradford Airport.
Lovely surroundings peaceful
Room looked tired carpet worn, sofa uncomfortable, hairpins found on the floor and dusty
The staff. Friendly, helpful and excellent!
The food was not good at all - and really expensive. Also, a shame that the spa facilities were out of order.
57 lodge
No wine cooler as advertised and very dated inside tv didn’t work although think it was a remote issue shower didn’t drain external paving was a disgrace The worse problem was when me and my daughter went swimming we were refused access after we we’re changing because we haven’t booked even tho after checked out early at reception to go swimming they said it was fine but to be refused because it was too busy !! (There was one person in the pool!! ) and all the hot tubs wasn’t working aswell £ 208 a night was good job i was at a wedding or would have complained
Lovely place, beautiful settings
Building looking a little tired, other than that all was perfect
Clean large comfy room to spend a night or two, good breakfast … free car parking spaces
Swimming pool times very limited for guests unless you buy a spar pass ! Jacuzzi not working while on my stay . Some areas looking a bit tired but ok
Breakfast mediocre! Dinner awful! Room dirty. Water for bath came out brown. Facilities old and dirty
Hotel, room, food, lack of enough staff, not a nice stay. Too expensive
Ideal for us to visit the Great Yorkshire show . Very peaceful , good sized rooms . Staff were very welcoming and friendly
It could do with some money spent on renovating it
Breakfast was as expected and the staff were pleasant
Had double bed cabin, looked and felt like a add on to main cabin. Room was in need of refurbishment and lacked any sound proofing. Awake till joining cabin went to bed as could hear everything they did and they were not been noisy. Awoke early to the sound of planes taking off. The area around cabin was dark due to the number of trees. Spa was only available at breakfast and dinner time 3hrs in total.
Spending time with family, although the whole things was a let down. I should've read other reviews warning me.
Over 300bpounds per night for a cabin without hot tub when I specifically called to ask for hot tub and upgrade 3 months prior. Cabin and surrounding areas dirty. Guests get charged 15 to 25 pounds to use swimming unless you go after 8pm. Breakfast was booked online to be told it wasnt actually booked. Sink blocked. Swimming facilities dirty. Staff unhelpful.
Cosy hotel with lovely outdoor areas. Very peaceful
We love going for the outdoor hot tubs. But all 4 of them were closed for maintenance the two days we were there. We were really disappointed.
Great location, very peaceful
Room was large, bed was big and very comfortable, no outside noise at night so easy to sleep. Shower was large and good. We ate dinner which was good, staff at dinner were attentive but busy. We stayed due to proximity to Yorkshire showground so stay suited us well
The location
The front door didn’t lock The bathroom door didn’t remotely shut The pillows had orange/yellow stains on smelling really bad The towels had holes in and were not clean Half the cabin was shut off but I wasn’t told they put a cabinet in the way of a door and that was it the roof had fallen in on the other side of that door The spar facility’s wasn’t working but we wasn’t told till the afternoon of arrival And the pools were out of order The walls was so thin u can hear the neighbours every move Tv remote didn’t work
The Bed was very comfortable had a good night sleep after a bad flight from Bulgaria. The breafast was great did not have to eat again till the evening and the setting was very nice outside with a pond and ducks and woodland.
Hard to find the Lodge 65 in the Dark had my wife walking infront of car and then had to get the night porter to show were it was
Very good breakfast location ideal for our plans
Spa out action not very well comunicated
I had a cabin and the size compared to what was expected was amazing

You know exactly what you get which is why I use it when flying from LBA
Nothing
The property was a good size
It’s in need of a renovation inside and out .
I am kindly asking for a refund I was mistreated and my privacy invaded the police was called .the staff was rude and unwelcomingo one of the worst experiences ever
I am requesting a full refund
Nothing
Lodges were dirty unkept and neglected
The setting was beautiful, lots of wildlife and trees. Sunny, hot weather helped! The spa facilities were excellent and well maintained. The staff were lovely and very helpful. Bed very comfortable. Breakfast was nice and plentiful. Much of my family were also staying there and I would have loved to stay an extra night as the surroundings are so peaceful and relaxing.
The rooms need a bit of tlc and there are things, such as bed side phone, that didn't work. My sister also had a room there and she didn't have hot water on the first morning. There was a bit of a ruckus with very unruly neighbours on the first night, but staff did what they could to help and it was dealt with very well.
Found our room relaxing
Didn't like the fact we had to step out into the mud, at the Spa, it was very boggy. Our shoes where covered in mud. Possibly bark will solve the issue
The peaceful setting
Mostly peaceful until plane took off as next to.leeds airport. Wood lodges although comfortable are a little tired.
N/A
Bit dated
Room spacious and comfortable staff polite and friendly facilities ok
Lodges looked run down and need some tlc
Iv a lot of issues with the property , I booked the excecutive suite room 6 , it was shocking the bath was disgusting the tv didn’t work at the start the fridge didn’t work , hardly kept anything cold the swimming pool looked like it had algae on Sunday , very disappointed with our stay not to mention fire alarm going off on at half past 2 In the morning
Good location and customer service, decent price and facilities
A little dated and room could have been cleaner
.
.
Staff and room
The experience was "adequate" but the breakfast arrangements were poor - cereals were in short supply and the food was served on hot plates but was luke warm - the dread fro toast was old and there were no conserves like marmalade or jam. The tea was self service with a tea bag in a small cup with water that was not warm enough
Location to Otley and Wharfedale!
The external parts look rather tatty and need some general maintenance works to modern standards.
Reception was very friendly Mckenie could not be more helpful was offered 2 rooms and we could choice.Spa was nice Vitold was so helpful and very accommodating.
TV only had 2 channels bed was very soft and not very comfy
I liked how quiet it was
I didn’t like xoming
Location and atmosphere of the property, reminds me of places visited as a kid, nice and cool in our lodge. Dinner was really good, nice choice of locations to eat. Fridge in room.
Some of the outside furniture was past its best, no chairs outside our lodge. Spa availability was very restricted to non members.
I’ve stayed here many times and noticed some improvements in the last couple of years, but unfortunately standards seemed to have dropped dramatically this time. I stayed in Cabin 53 which was very dirty and smelt musty. The restaurant had a very sticky floor, breakfast choices seem to have reduced and didn’t look appetising and the alarm going off several times during breakfast was the final nail in the coffin. Regular and thorough cleaning, and continued refurbishment of the log cabins would make a world of difference to this lovely place
Excellent location. The trees and lake. log cabin effect
The hotel is looking a bit tired and is ready for a refurb. Bread at breakfast was a bit dry. Eggs on toast a bit bland and flavourless. Room card failed about 3 times and had to be reprogrammed.
The location is very good . The view is excellent 👌 love the food. Staff are very friendly
The cleaning . Our room bathroom was not very clean and the spa facility was not clean at all .
We really enjoyed the spa, especially the hot tub and Patrick was super helpful and friendly. The location is very peaceful and the bed was very comfortable.
Such a quirky hotel, like a finish lodge.
Nothing
The staff are so friendly and beautiful. The resort is lovely and peaceful. This is our second visit and we really enjoyed ourselves. Thank you to everyone for making us feel welcome.
The older outdoor spa pool needs a deep clean.
The breakfast was OK - nicely cooked. The location is visually attractive. The dining areas, conservatory and lake are attractive.
It’s on the Leeds-Bradford airport flight path, so the noise from that started early in the morning. The log cabin theme is oppressive and not helped by very dim room lighting. Carpets are worn through in places and my room smelled musty.
Nice location
Tired, needs an update
Beautiful location very handy for airport.
Very run down. Not thoroughly cleaned poor water pressure nearly no. Existent in shower. No jacuzzi swimming pool dirty . Most concerning emergency button by pool broken.
Nice grounds, pool and spa area ok, though it was a bit cold for outside hot tubs. Dog friendly policy is good, accommodation adequate
Food in hotel was a bit mediocre, our evening meal was overcooked. Breakfast OK but nothing special. Bed was not comfortable, and cabin was quite cold
My wife and 9 year old daughter booked a night's stay. Woken at midnight by a party next door - despite my wife contacting reception, the noise continued until after 2am. Woken again at 4am by drunk man trying to enter their room. Hotel offered 50% refund but have only actually repaid a third of the cost of the stay. I have tried contacting them multiple times by phone and email to express my concerns and they continue to ignore me. The hotel appear unconcerned about the safeguarding of their guests. When asked if they had CCTV to check who was trying to enter the room, they responded 'we do not have and have never had CCTV and cannot investigate further'. This is the first negative review I have ever submitted but I am so appalled by their lack of response, I think it is right to share our experience.
Great location. Wonderful spa restaurant and grounds
Nothing
Reception staff very welcoming. Comfortable bed. The room was clean. Lovely location. Easy check in and check out.
Despite being told to dial '0' for Reception, there was no phone in the room. There was only one pillow per person. As we were some distance from Reception and it was chucking down, we put towels under the pillow to help, but more pillows would have made the night more comfortable. There was a warning for us to check who may be knocking at the cabin, which was an acknowledgement that people could be wandering around outside in such a rural location, so we were surprised that a see through rattan blind had been installed in the bathroom. In the evening, with the lights on, this offered no privacy and made me, as a woman, feel unsafe and uncomfortable when using the bathroom. The exterior of the cabin was absolutely filthy and had obviously not been swept or cleaned in a very long time. These matters could easily be put right, which would have led to a very enjoyable stay in a lovely location. Would probably stay in the hotel rather than a cabin if we came again.
Home from home lovely and spacious
Liked it all
Lovely staff especially Patrick in the spa/ gym who went above and beyond finding me a hairbrush to borrow as I’d forgotten mine 😁👏👏
Food could have been better. Fish and chips overcooked and the plated breakfast tasted like it had sat out on a buffet too long. Cold bacon, hard inedible black pudding and crispy curled fried egg!!
Great location communal areas lovely in the main
Our lodge was dreadful dirty dusty stained carpets broken and tatty furniture old tired and desperately needs refurbishment
Great venue very quiet and comfortable Helpful staff and charming restaurant.
Menu was a little basic but the food was good value and excellent.
The property was lovely and peaceful, could have done with a lick of paint and there were a couple of cigarette stubs on outside seating area but that might have been because of the wind. But was so comfortable and cosy, so great to unwind after a hectic few days - dogs loved it in the lodge! Restaurant was fantastic and staff so helpful, really good breakfast range and young man serving us was exceptionally helpful and attentive- thank you!

Very serene, beautifully situated

I booked it for my son , he didn’t really get a chance to enjoy It . They arrived very late , following a late flight .
The room was very tatty ( rust all over the bathroom , where paint had peeled off & it hadn’t been re-touched . The cot we had asked for was just a base - no mattress , so our toddler was very unsettled even though she was tired .
everything
nothing
The food was very good - both the evening meal and breakfast. The grounds and location were lovely. The pool and spa had everything we needed.
Many of the showers did not work in the spa area. The toilet in the room bathroom needed de-scaling. The pillows were very hard. We were on a late sitting for breakfast, and many buffet items and drinks had run out.
