Location, vilage
Room not so great
The view, location and ferry service was awesome!
Breakfast could have had more options for in house guest
L’établissement est bien situé mais seul bémol c’est que le ferry s’arrête à 23h. C’est contraignant si on veut sortir sur le tard.
Excellent views and clean water!
The view of the bay from the room balcony, up a steep staircase, was astounding, the sunsets amazing, 3 varieties of bird (bullfinch, trembrler, bananasquit) came to eat sugar, milk, bread, banana, mango each day. Dinner as well as breakfast, at Dr Doolittles was good, really good but beware the chicken is mostly curried and the pork is very salty. The daily ferry trip is a dream, always beautiful.
We were charged 60£ more than was agreed in booking. The facilities are a little tired, the downstairs toilet, the shower dont work well.
Excellent location
Basic stuff in the room
check-in, breakfast, beach towels, beach chairs, view, friendliness, bar, the ferry that runs all day until 11 pm The balcony of our room: fantastic with a gorgeous view. The location is very romantic. It is a hideaway in a breathtaking location. But it needs a revamping of the facilities which should be done very carefully to not spoil this romantic spot. I enjoyed that it was close to some local folks who sold beach wear, and other stuff. This is not a hotel with an anonymous character who find everywhere. We loved it because It has a soul!
the room - at least the one we stayed in- is pretty run down. It is a basic hotel for a lot of money. It would need a major renovation, furniture were chipped, the kitchenette very old school. But we are people who have lived in Africa and we rather put up with some crumminess of the room and enjoy this romantic hideaway.
The views were good and the general location was good. Beds were very comfy.
The swimming pool was much smaller than it looked in the pictures. There was a steep climb to the villa which wasn't mentioned in the description and though the description had said that the villa was on the ground floor, there were quite a few steps within the property. The onsite restaurant didn't serve vegetarian or vegan food despite saying it did in the property description ( this has now been updated).
Marigot bay is quirky . If you’re looking for perfection posh and plastic this place is not for you. It is like being on holiday with your family . It’s a mix of friends family and locals all together . The people are very kind on the the inlet . You get a water taxi daily to it if you want to anywhere . That runs all day until 11pm . Food is good although disappointed with fish selection . Not enough for my choice . But steak on stone is delicious . Breakfast is good . Either continental or full English depending on your package . Wouldn’t do all inclusive as too much to see on St Lucia
My room was old especially the bathroom ( my only place I require cleanliness and function) and requires an update asap. Tap hanging off and water intermittent ) however view awesome. The resident cockerel wakes you at 4 am every morning as was annoying but kinda got used to it after a few days . Cleaning every other day is intermittent but once alerted to management soon changed .
Nous avions réservé 2 nuits et au moment de réceptionner les chambres pas d’eau dans l’établissement donc réservation annulée … aucun message en amont pour nous informer de cette annulation
Location
Staff weren’t the most helpful. Everything very expensive. Place has a generally tired feel about it. Could be genuinely amazing with some investment and caring staff.
Location
Dated
Great location
Some staff not as friendly as 2 other places we had been.
View
Having to get a ferry
The view is lovely, and meeting David who was so helpful on our first night.
Lots of steps to our room, especially as the lighting was poor.
The food was good
Broke furniture, stray animals, no room service lots of run down stairs
Bed was comfortable, good WiFi, ac working, location beautiful. Enjoyed hike which is accessible from hotel grounds.
Service was terrible - check in took over an hour and a half- when we finally got to the room it turned out housekeeping was still cleaning the room… likewise checkout took 20 minutes as receptionist kept putting the checkout on pause to answer 5-10 minute long phone calls..which is crazy for checkout when most people have a taxi waiting..Everyone we encountered were frustrated with staff for similar reasons. also, Staff seem to run on “island time” which gets old quick - I.e ham and cheese and breakfast only being out out an hour after breakfast service starts.. Facilities generally weren’t clean -I.e pool looked mouldy on edge Breakfast included was very poor quality, was basically just toast, egg and low quality slime ham (and American plastic burger cheese) would not recommend. Generally felt emotions ranging from disappointed to frustrating throughout our stay.
Location is delightful.
Noises of motorised blowing machine for cleaning/drying at meal times; roar of the leaf blower for gardening for long hours during the day.
The price was good and the room was nice
First thing you see when arriving with the boat from the ferry is a broken sun chair. Portable extinguishers are empty and have no tag indicating that they have been yearly inspection. No smoke detectors in the rooms.
some Palm trees rounded up the view to the beach, it is very calm there, no cars, recommendation to join the Marigot beach resort in the after season, relax or make some tours around the island, by boot or car. If you not so fit, request a stay at a lower part, otherwise some steps are there for good exercise to reach the room, smile.
Petit déjeuner médiocre, pas de changement de serviettes malgré notre demande
The ambiance and staff.
The breakfast could have been better. I was given a used dish scrubber.
The food was very good as was the service.
Steps!!!
Very friendly employees!! The best customer service
L’emplacement
Old and outdated property. Musty smell.
Views and location
Rude and unwelcoming receptionist! Worse I’ve ever come across in my many years of travel
The quiet view
Have to wait to get crossing late in the evening
We have been there many times.
Our short stay. K
scenery
The fact that the receptionist was not available upon arrival. I also find if someone is paying for breakfast atleast you will get a wide variety to choose from.
Truly Idyllic setting for a romantic getaway, anniversary or honeymoon “dream vacation “ we spent the first week of our Summer 2025 in a St Lucia paradise island across the bay from dreamers and millionaires and every day was a new opportunity for adventures in ⛵️ sailing, snorkeling, kayaking and scuba diving 🤿 The food is great the people are so friendly and their service is impressive.
Location
Tv didn’t work
I love the privacy it feels like you in you own little house.wish I had spend longer.the wish the ferry didn’t have a cutoff time ,but when you work with front desk and Marvin he always answers his phone I was able to get the ferry at 1am after a wedding which was very convenient thanks to all the staff and the kitchen staff I could have my breakfast to go
Having our own private balcony over looking the bay was incredibly peaceful
Not a dive resort! There is no on site PADI centre and hasn't been for several years, though travel companies (TUI in our case) are still mis-selling it as such. They can arrange third party pickups for dive trips but that isn't the same at all. In a state of general disrepair. I expect that the entire resort will be featured on one of those abandoned places type TV programs in the near future. Many of the advertised amenities are permanently closed. Staff are limited in what they can do and obviously stressed. Food is limited, poor quality and exceedingly overpriced. Breakfast is utterly woeful. Bar is dead. The spa is basically having reception book someone to come give you a massage. If you expect spa amenities to include a sauna, plunge pool, jacuzzi etc then forget it as they are all permanently closed. Worst aspect is the location. The access by motorised raft may sound exotic but really it isn't. Then 1 mile over a steep hill to the nearest bus stop. Taxis are $$$ and there are extremely limited local amenities which are eye wateringly overpriced. There really is very little to do here. I would suggest that you need a car to get out and about. The hotel part of the beach is mostly a concrete apron with sand on top. It is small and although tidy, the hotel sunbeds are extremely shabby. The locals are not allowed to use the hotel restrooms so make their own arrangements with the expected resulting pervasive aroma. The hotel itself consists of a number of villas and low buildings. All are at the wrong end of shabby chic and there are maintenance issues. There are many steep steps on cracked and uneven tiles which become quite slippery after rain. I expect that anyone with any type of mobility or fitness issue is going to be in trouble. The gym exists but equipment is very basic and dated. The pool is tiny and when I used it enjoyed a light layer of floating scum. I couldn't see my feet through the murky water. The sea is nice to swim in though. Housekeeping has been downgraded to every other day so don't expect the luxury of clean towels and a made bed unless you do it yourself. If you are planning on going the self catering route then be aware that kitchen amenities are basic and that there are no local shops for supplies. I am now facing another 12 days here and looking forward to leaving. At least writing reviews and arguing with TUI over breach of contract will keep me amused. Views are nice.
Hotel was amazing!
Restaurant was average and breakfast was poor
Bed bugs, roaches, ants, ill equipped room, exposed live wires, no Wi-Fi, twice absolutely no water in room-no shower or toilets. Phone in room not working, no matches for gas stove, changed rooms and more bed bugs, $20.00 for a generic cocktail is exorbitant, daytime staff is unhelpful and rude, the view is nice.
Second time here, beautiful quiet vacation spot
Let’s discuss. When I first picked this hotel. There was no mention that in order to get to the hotel you must take a water taxi over which was not the biggest deal but gives no mention on the booking or the hotel website. Secondly, anytime we asked the staff for something, it was as if we were bothering them. The staff were not working efficient. It took 25-30 min for them to make scrambled eggs for two. Let’s now discuss the sleeping arrangement. WiFi works when it feels like it, bugs come and go through the cracked door sweep and we running water would occasionally be turned off randomly and we would have to ask for it to be turned back on. Not to mention, out room had BED BUGS!!!! BOTH my sister and I woke up with clusters of red dots and welts all over our body two days in a row. The staff was no receptive and told us this is the FIRST they’ve heard about this. They refused to comp us a night or two when we asked politely and only replied with a “sorry about that”. We were beyond disappointed that two we both saved up to enjoy a few days off of work and school together turned into such a terrible ending to our trip. After checking out early because we were grossed out of the “resort” we went to a local restruant and while speaking to some staff they had actually left working at Marigot bay dive resort because they already knew it had bed bugs and guest complained all the time!!!! Attached pictures of the bed bugs which we VISIBLY saw when we checked the bed.
An amazing location that you take a small ferry across the lagoon to get to. That was a really fun experience. With that said the first room we had was unacceptable. It was older and rundown and right underneath the noisy side area of the hotel. On our second day, we did request a new room which we were granted. This room was absolutely perfect. Beautiful view with a nice front porch with a view of the bay and spacious inside. Amenities were on the low end… And considering this is advertised as a dive hotel… There was no sign of any dive equipment, dive rentals, or any diving going on. The beach is small, but just adequate. No snorkel gear, canoes or kayaks available from the hotel. This was disappointing. When we checked in, we were told by Reception to come to Reception anytime for help booking excursions, etc. After two days of relaxing at the hotel, we were ready to take an excursion and went to the Reception for help. At that time We were told by the receptionist that she was new and not anble to help and we would need to return the next day to get help on any bookings of excursions or snorkeling gear. This was surprising and disappointing as our time at the hotel was starting to pass. The restaurant on site was good. We ate there four out of the six nights. Our other two meals we took the small ferry across the bay to the resort across the bay and enjoyed their Italian restaurant. That was very good. I suppose we would stay here again, but there is a learning curve.
Loved our stay. Staff very friendly! Doolittle great!
This place left us stranded across from the hotel at night, telling us no one can come get us for the night, to just sleep over there. They made it clear we can call for a ride if we needed one, yet literally made us sleep on the beach for the night instead saying they cant do anything. We also informed staff that we needed to be at the airport by 4am as our flight leaves at 5am. Next morning there is no one at the dock they left us there until 430 before bringing us across and we missed all our flights. They also were supposed to set up a taxi to bring us to the airport, but surprise.. no taxi either. The late night security at the hotel was sleeping on the pool table, i told him we need to go! He told us its not his problem he cant do anything, then processed to sneak off so we couldnt bother him again. They did nothing they said they were going to do and screwed us over multiple times. They asked if they could do housekeeping every other day, yet still didnt even show up to do anything but give us new towles. This is the worst hotel ive stayed at. Yes the area is beautiful but this facility is a JOKE. Stay somewhere else. I am requesting a full refund and to be compensated for my plane tickets home.
Phone not working, safe not working, no one in reception after 4pm
What an amazing crew of staff they have at the hotel…a few power and water issues. Which were resolved as quickly as possible. But this comes with the territory, i have stayed in other Caribbean countries and experienced same issues. The ferry service to and from the hotel is faultless and like hotel staff are amazing people helpful people too. I would recommend staying at the marigot beach hotel to anyone. P.S i highly recommend Jakes barbers across the bay from hotel, if anyone needs that service during their stay💇♂️ top quality service.
The location is amazing, the staff lovely and the accommodation comfortable and clean.
Absolutely wonderful staff. Very attentive and friendly! Just a very few exceptions..sadly the water taxi guy (not Ricky👍😁) was obviously doing the bare minimum. The water taxi guy made us wait a long time, two lunch servers were ignoring us…so sad(we love island time🌞👍), but this wasn’t that..just lazy
Great property to feel the vibe of old St Lucia. Very accommodating and friendly staff with a nice bar and free shuttle to take you across the bay. Would definitely come back!
Beautiful place, friendly staff, safe .
We loved the property, and the staff was fantastic. We had a room with a kitchen, and wish they would have a few more basics - small bowls for cereal(in addition to the large ones provided), a mixing bowl, a spatula.
We are full time live aboard sailors. We bought a day pass to spend the day dining, playing in pool and indulging in adult beverages. The service we received from Hilda and Renata in the restaurant for breakfast was great. Service with friendliness and a smile isn't something we always see. Hilda brought us our first mimosas. Renata made sure we were happy with our service. Down at the pool bar, Allison served us with a smile and a great drink. Those bartenders at the pool bar were working very hard and tirelessly. They all had smiles on their faces and served you as fast as they could. Again, Renata was down there after upstairs Service finished. She made sure we had what we needed. Hilda was downstairs as well. Between Hilda, Allison and Renata we had great service. Cons: breakfast was a buffet but you could order eggs done the way you like it. The downstairs restroom needed service. It needed TP and one toilet needed to be cleaned out. In the 6-hours we were there, I told many people and they told maintenance. Nothing was done. Overall a great experience!!!
Showers didn’t work, and unfortunately not fixed for the duration of our stay. Staff not very friendly, with the exception of the cooks and chef they were nice and polite. Booking excursions through the hotel was like getting your teeth pulled, lol. About the only thing that was excellent, were the views.
.
Great place to stay. Great views. Very friendly staff. Will recommend this resort always.
Amazing experience, I loved that the property had an ocean view, also the restaurant on the property Doolittles had great food, thumps up to the chefs, totally enjoyed the live music aswell, excellent staff. A free ferry is provided to take you to and from the hotel,so you can also explore some local eatery aswell, and get some local shopping done.
The location is this hotels only saving grace.
The hotel is in dire need of some investment. It looks like it was the place to be in the 80s and hasn’t moved on since. The restaurant ‘Doolittle’s’ lives up to the name as the staff precisely do little. The breakfast buffet is a couple of rolls of cheap ham and cheese of which they’d already run out of by 8.30am. I’d expect more for the price of the room.
The property is very tired, poorly maintained and in need of an upgrade, shower didn't work (3 out of 4 rooms we used!) toilet leaked (2 room) - culminating in my husband getting an electrical shock of the bedside lamp - hotel not bothered changed lights and he had to insist to fill and incident form. Dont get me wrong it's an amazing bay, but more 3* than 4 or 5 it deserves because they are still struggling post covid. No shops in the bay and $40 taxi to get just 10 mins up the hill to shops! Only 2 restaurants (Chateau Mygo and JJ Mangrove) of the 5 we had access to gave good service or good food for the evening meals Marigot Beach Club staff never once said good morning, continental breakfast at 8 is a joke - staff arrive at 8am and put out bread fruit and cakes - you get 2 eggs but have to pay for tomato in your omelette!?!?! Beautiful bay, we wanted to dive and the Marigot dive centre is closed - wonder whether Soufriers or north past Castries would be better service and then day visit this bay - very sad :(
This hotel is a H&S hazard waiting to happen. Set on the side of the hill, most apartments are a noticeable walk up hill, with the Firefly Studios several floors up. We stayed in 2 different rooms and also experience 2 more rooms on the final day to change. Every room had maintenance issues. From the broken hand railings over the steep edge to see the sunset!, to broken showers 3/4, leaking toilets 2/4 culminating in my husbands electrical shock from the bedside lamp - the hotel changed the lamp but did not seem to care. And I think the is the word I would use no-one at Marigot Beach Club and Dive resort cares. The staff disinterested, never once said good morning on one of our 14 visits to breakfast or 4 to dinner, there simply is NO service. The food 9 generally in Marigot) is over priced, and mostly tasteless, boring for vegetarians with dull curries, potato filled Roti's and pasta your only choice. Plus we chose this hotel for its on site dive center which is closed. The private beach of which there are two small strips. one to the left of the hotel with 6 pairs of broken sunbeds is swapped with day trippers from the cruises (which I think is their focus as its extra income). The main beach to the right even worse chairs, ripped off for privacy? but used by local kids and hounded by the beach sellers (which were aggressive / rude) - only Noel the local fruit seller was fun to talk to. It promises so much from the photos, the bay, the clear waters, the hotel, etc and fails to deliver through lack of care, love and attention. And when you have choice you cant afford to not offer high standard (or frankly even basic) SERVICE !
We had the pleasure of staying at Marigot Beach Club & Dive Resort for just four days, and it was truly one of the most extraordinary places we visited in the entire Caribbean. The resort’s facilities are absolutely stunning, and the staff’s warmth and hospitality made our experience unforgettable. Dining at Doolittle’s Restaurant was a delight, with every meal proving to be consistently excellent and delicious. A heartfelt thank you to David for his attentive eye for the service and engaging conversation, Danizia for her impeccable service during dinner, Glen at the bar for his hospitality, and Tonia for her wonderful service at lunchtime. We also greatly appreciated the professionalism and friendly demeanor of the reception team, including Kiana, Tarrik, and Quawanna, who all paid incredible attention to detail. A special thank you as well to Shannon from the garden—his kindness and dedication left a lasting impression as he took the time to show us around the beautiful grounds. We truly appreciate all his hard work in keeping the gardens stunning.
pool wasn’t clean.
This property is run down ; has spotty internet; our Rose Cottage room with plunge pool was in disrepair. It leaked when it rained; the pool filter was not working; the electricity in the kitchen was spotty; you need to be in good shape to get to and from your room up the side of the steep hill; the staff does not help with luggage. Not the experience one would expect at this price. The food was average at best. The view however is spectacular. We moved to a VRBO across the way and it is top notch.
Awful. Where do I start? We stayed here for 11 nights. We were greeted without any information about what our ‘resort fee’ included. Housekeeping is every 2 days and wasn’t too bad. Shower was cold mostly every day. Internet was not fast and was intermittent in the room. The worst part about the resort was the service at the bar/restaurant. Staff are unhappy and don’t want to work there - and it shows. It was incredibly disorganised - staff were not delegates properly. We waited at the bar for 20 minutes sometimes without a hello and had to ask staff what we wanted by saying excuse me every time - no priority for guests and left us feeling unimportant and like we were inconveniencing them! Service charge is added to everything. It IS optional, so I would advise not paying it if you’re unhappy with the service. Staff are searched after work to check they haven’t stolen anything and are charged out of their own pockets if guests don’t pay their bill. Our friend broke a hip and the staff at the front desk would not allow an international phone call because it would cost the resort money. There are so many flies in and around the bar and washing and cleaning are not prioritised. Many unhappy guests at the resort and complaints either ignored or frowned upon, with no problem-solving applied. Service is incredibly slow all the time. Breakfast is included in the price but is not good. I could go on but I don’t think I need to. The resort needs a huge renovation and staff training needs to be up to standard - the staff need to feel inspired by their leaders - not afraid or deflated.
Put here by our company on a one-night stop having flown in from UK via The Azores. The adventure to the hotel began with a forty minute transfer from the airport along the rustic roads of St Lucia. It’s more exciting on the way back because you are nearer to the cliff edge. Anyway, our driver eventually came to a halt beside a jetty and beckoned us out of the vehicle. “Oh, is it just round the corner?” I asked. “No, you wait for the ferry”. “You’re joking” “No”. We were knackered having flown across the Atlantic and now we were sitting on our luggage in our pilot costumes with a bunch of backpackers and our increasingly agitated princess flight attendant who got straight on the phone to operations and started tearing them a new one: “No, I’m not alright. We’re on a dock with no ferry in sight …. Oh my God it’s just arrived. You can not be serious”. And indeed here it was … more of a raft than a ferry, sitting very low in the water and looking remarkably unstable and unseaworthy. We pushed past the hippies and clambered gingerly on board, the skiff rocking menacingly as we did so. The boatman became increasingly animated as the hippies began to join us and his craft started taking on water. It was farcical as we all moved around the boat in a mad game to balance out the boat. I couldn’t stop myself from laughing. The princess was less amused and pressed speed dial again to have a further rant at Ops who, rather rashly – this being Christmas Eve - promised to send a bigger boat in the morning. We untied from the dock and putted slowly across the bay. To be fair, the hotel looked moderately alluring perched on the far side of the water, a series of low buildings rising up the hill. However, -much like Weston Super-Mare or Blackpool, it’s best viewed from a distance. Check in went well enough and I was able to crow to Cap’n Steve and the Princess about my room upgrade. However the bragging rights of this were to be short lived. As we departed to find our accommodation the heavens opened and the chipped tile steps up the hill became a veritable “slip and slide”. My two colleagues had to endure this for a further five minutes as their lodgings were further up the hill. Only somewhat drenched, I opened the door to my superior suite to be greeted by a primitive kitchenette opening up onto a room sumptuously adorned with a wide variety of knackered furniture and, off it, a bathroom with chipped sink and urine stained toilet. On the plus side there was a nice four poster bed and the terrace offered spectacular views across the bay. However, I thought, if this is a superior room God knows what the basic is like: the princess is not going to be happy! Indeed she was not. It appeared that “standard class” did not include running water (a feature of several other reviews I note). It took an hour for the hotel to summon maintenance and pronounce they couldn’t fix it. After 15 hours on her feet it was unsurprising that a shower would have been welcomed. We drowned our sorrows with champagne in the hotel bar and amused ourselves by making fun of the pissed hippies with whom we left the remnants of our bottle. Having retired to bed. I was awoken an hour later by the receptionist banging on my door demanding that I settle the bill for our (very underwhelming) dinner. This surprised me as I thought they had our card on file but hey ho… I was informed in no uncertain terms that I was wrong. She kindly left me waiting in my sleeping shorts whilst she stomped off to get a card machine. After the Gestapo had finally left I actually slept very well in my four poster and in the morning spent a pleasant half hour sitting on the balcony watching the world go by. We got the death ferry back to the other side of the bay (it was more pleasant in the daylight and without the swampy types on board) and our taxi driver kindly waited whilst we obtained decent coffee from the adjacent hotel. This turned out to be the one that the other airlines use … it was magnificent and we have implored our company to book this next time!! In summary: a great hotel for people who don’t mind rough and ready facilities. I reckon if you smoke pot and drink copious quantities of booze (which our fellow travellers appeared to be doing) the hotel might be a fine choice. However we will not be rushing to come back. The Princess was spitting bricks in our car on the way back to the airport and it took until Miami for her to calm down!
Advertised by British Airways Holidays so expected the resort to live up to its name. There is no Dive centre on site, only a sign saying it is up for sale. They could not offer any PADI Certified alternative, so a big let down for my wife and I. Who had planned to take our basic PADI Certification there. British Airways holidays need to change the resort description it is offering an on site PADI dive option that does not exist and speaking to the staff this has been the case for about a year
We arrived Christmas Day, and booked only a few days prior to our vacation. I read many reviews beforehand, and have to admit that nearly all of them came to fruition. However, we paid only a fraction of the cost of many of the surrounding resorts. We couldn’t believe how beautiful and serene the location was. Everyone was very nice - I truly think they are all doing their best. You need to go here with realistic Expectations - if you’re looking for 5 star, book a 5 star. But if you’re looking for a tranquil, quiet, slow-paced getaway where you get to experience a bit of the culture, this is an awesome vacation. Be kind to the workers.. everyone was always apologizing to us when we hadn’t even complained...it’s clear that there are many complaints. It’s a beautiful place with wonderful people and we had nothing but positive interactions. We loved taking the ferry over to the other restaurants in the bay, especially Chateau Mygo where there was great service! The private resort beach, while small, was peaceful and no one bothers you there. There is a small shop near hurricane hole where you can pick up beer or wine or snacks to have in your room, other markets are a drive away. Catamaran tours can be arranged to pick you up and drop you off in the marina - front desk was very accommodating with making plans for us. I suggest bringing EC currency - USD is accepted but most prices are in EC and would make it easier. Overall a wonderful trip, we definitely want to come back!
We purchased a Day Pass here while visiting St Lucia on a cruise ship. The resort sounded idyllic, overlooking Marigot Bay with it's own private beach, and featuring the famous Dr Doolittle's Restaurant. The whole experience was a huge disappointment - the resort is dirty, the staff miserable and everything looks tired, showing all the signs of a business in trouble. It is a potential goldmine and would benefit from a new owner to bring the resort up to a standard its location deserves.
Overall, the property is not maintained as shown in the pictures. Wifi in the room was not working despite multiple request to staff to have fixed. Did not have running water for one of the days during our stay so we checked out a day early.
Great isolated resort for a peaceful stay. With access only by boat the vibe is laid back and satisfying. The scenery was continuously gorgeous without a bunch of boats blocking the view. Though the facility is not new and many of the Doolittles staff are not incredibly enthusiastic, the stay was well worth the price. Not the most luxurious in Marigot Bay, but if you are looking for secluded tranquility this resort may well fit your needs.
Super relaxing and cool resort. You have to take a short ferry across as there is no car access. Great beach and kayaking activities. The gym was outdated but provided an option to get a little workout in. The pool was nice and clean. The water and beach was fantastic. Delicious food and friendly staff! Clean room - just keep in mind you don't have unlimited water.
This is the one place to stay if you are heading to St Lucia . The bay is always calm and beautiful clear blue green sea water ! The owner David is an amazing host and I wish I knew about this place earlier so I could stay longer !
Nothing to dislike here
Beautiful location, good choices and quality in the restaurant
Very tired room, hot running water sometimes not available, lack of restaurant choices in close proximity
Amazing kocation
Hustlers at the gate (not the resorts fault)
I loved my room, the view, the friendliness of the staff.
The meals could have been tastier
Beautiful, quiet, and convenient location at Marigot Bay in Saint Lucia. A semi-private beach is located adjacent to the resort, offering fantastic sunset views and a wide array of activities available in the area. We enjoyed our stay, although the property would have benefited from some maintenance in both the room and overall facilities. We ran out of water in our room a few times, and paper towels were not provided for the kitchen. Other than that, the room had everything we needed. In the common areas, the pool was not completely clean, and some of the beach chairs were dirty and falling apart. Most of the restaurant staff were friendly, and we enjoyed the breakfast included in the package. However, lunch and dinner options were extremely expensive, both at nearby restaurants and especially at the hotel's restaurant. Overall, it was a good experience despite the negatives, as the location, weather, and friendly, welcoming locals made it worthwhile.
I want to start off by saying I had an amazing time in Saint Lucia, this is a beautiful island. The only terrible thing about my whole trip is this property. So where do I start, first I was left at the bay at midnight after getting back from the street party and fish fry at midnight. Security did not answer their phone to take me back to the resort on a ferry. Second the key to my room did not lock my room from the outside, third water ran out on me as I wash taking a shower. Like ran out and I had to use the bottled water I bought to rinse off. Also not once were my sheets changed the whole time I was there. I’m never staying here.
It was good.
We spent a wonderful week here. The Firefly Studio was perfect (renovated?). Marigot Bay makes for a splendid environment. Plenty of eateries around, at reasonable rates. Ferry always available. Beach speclessly clean. The local "supermarket" was good enough for us.
My short stay was excellent quiet and surroundings in-tune with nature. Staff were friendly and informative. It's an experience l will recommend and will return again soon
Beautiful property

What guests love
Areas to consider
Cleanliness
6.5/10Cleaning described as intermittent; some guests note clean water and good upkeep in parts but others report irregular room cleaning and bathroom issues.
Service
7.3/10Staff and check-in repeatedly praised as friendly and helpful and ferry service well run, but there are operational failures (no advance notice of cancellations, overcharging incident) that reduce confidence.
Location
9/10Consistently praised: outstanding bay views, romantic setting, excellent location with convenient ferry/water taxi access and proximity to local shops and beach.
Room Quality
5.5/10Multiple reports of tired, run-down rooms: chipped furniture, old kitchenettes, plumbing issues, non-working toilets/showers and misleading layout/steps — significant need for refurbishment.
Amenities
6.8/10Ferry service and beach access are strong positives; pool and other facilities are smaller or more tired than advertised, and there have been water outages and functional problems in some rooms.
Value for Money
6.7/10Mixed signals: some guests call it good value for the location and experience, while unexpected charges and basic/rundown rooms make others feel it’s overpriced.
Food and Beverage
7/10Breakfast generally praised; dinners often good (some standout dishes) but limited vegetarian/vegan options and occasional preparation issues (salty dishes, limited fish selection) noted.
Overall Experience
8/10Overall a very scenic, romantic and memorable stay for many guests thanks to views and setting, but enjoyment is tempered by room condition, some service/operational faults and limited amenities.
