Provider-sourced guest reviews.
El Pueblo Lodge was clean, the rooms are simple without a lot of extras, the staff were friendly and the breakfast was tasty. It was a good location from downtown Taos so easy to walk around.
It all went well so nothing I can note that I didn't like.
Muy agradable todo, entorno, habitación y ambiente sobre todo la piscina y la terraza del desayuno!
Por poner un pero el desayuno tenía una fruta preparada que no estaba rica, a pesar de que tenía buena pinta.
Peaceful area to stay , loved the grounds
everything. it was a wonderful place. the grounds are beautiful and the breakfast is amazing Staff was great.
I like the breakfast and that I can park my motorcycle at my door

We enjoyed the breakfast!}
Hôtel très bien placé et au calme
fireplace, kitchenette, backyard, breakfast, truly spacious, perfectly clean, nothing missing.
Excellent breakfast spread which also caters to vegetarians.
Very pretty grounds.
Nothing
Location, comfortable, clean, nice pool and jacuzzi, walking distance from everything
Was good
Clean. friendly staff. Good location. Clean pool. Grounds were kept nice. Breakfast not great but better than most “free” breakfasts
They absolutely must upgrade to smart TVs. Could not stream or cast. Very unfortunate TVs are so cheap now. Clogged kitchen sink when we got there Mini frig freezer was frozen up so frig was not cooling well A bit dated decor, kitchen and baths
Breakfast was outstanding. Not just your typical eggs and bacon.

Large property with pool, chairs all over to relax in shady grass, lawn games. Friendly staff. Large hot free breakfast with many things to choose from.
Nothing negative to say
Love the atmosphere - so Taos! The breakfast buffet was fabulous-- so many varied dishes. And the patio where we dined in the huge back yard.
La ubicación, el personal, el desayuno variado y exquisito, la habitación, limpísima y amplia y las instalaciones del lodge.

Cleanliness
The grounds are spacious with many little activities scattered around the property. The staff was very helpful. The room was also spacious and the property has a great pool. Breakfast was also excellent. Highly recommend.
Spacious rooms and close to town. Staff was very helpful. Good breakfast too. There are also a little activities scattered around the property, such as cornhole, frisbee, golf, comfortable, Adirondack chairs, and horseshoes. Plus a great pool!
Comfortable bed, quiet room, good location within walking distance of the plaza, excellent breakfast with a beautiful outdoor seating area.
The room air-conditioner worked well, but it was a bit noisy.
Breakfast was good, rooms were clean and grounds are nice.
Great breakfast, loved the pool and grounds, and enjoyed the aesthetic
Mattress and lack of blinds for back window
Breakfast was great, employees were great.
Bugs, spiders in bathroom, no hot water for two days.
The location is great. The room was huge and Breakfast is really good.
Very nice room. Location was great to walk to Michael’s and the Plaza.
Beautiful grounds.
Air conditioner blowing over the bed.
The grounds are beautifully maintained. The breakfast was great.

2nd floor - double queens- very comfortable beds except room air system very close to one headboard that created sound when in use . Breakfast for three mornings were pretty good - breakfast staff was very accommodating and friendly.
The rooms were beautiful and large, also very clean and comfortable. Afternoon chip & dip, & cookies. Wonderful breakfast with indoor, outdoor seating areas. The entire staff was very nice and accommodating. Close to shopping and restaurants.
Look no further and stay here. You won’t be disappointed. Beautiful surroundings. Lovely lodge that’s spacious. Areas to play corn hole, horseshoe, and disc gold. Great breakfast. Cookies, salsa and chips in the evening. Bus stop is close by to go to Taos Pueblo and San Francisco de Asis. Bus rides are free and handy for those who don’t drive. Restaurants are within walling distance. Kit Carson’s grave in a very nice park is also within walking distance. Superb stay for sure.
Absolutely loved it…. The property and rooms are amazing!
I loved everything! Staff was amazing… excellent breakfast, a beautiful place to sit outside to eat, conveniently located and the staff was amazing!!
Very comfortable and nicely appointed. The staff was friendly, the hot tub was amazing, and very good hot breakfast was served.

breakfast is good, welcome chips and cookies were nice
carpet in room was old and worn, air conditioner so-so
This is an older motel that has a lot more character than most newer places. Our room was on the 2nd floor at the back of the property, and was amazingly quiet for being in town. We had a comfy spot on a shared balcony, windows that actually open, and a view over a nice grassy area. The breakfast was the best ever for a motel offering a hot breakfast - great tamales, eggs, green chile sauce, fried peppers, and plenty of fresh fruit. All of the staff we encountered were exceptionally friendly. The plaza area is only a 15-minute walk away. We will stay here again next time we come to Taos.

Best place to stay in Taos....Love their breakfast!
Gloria, one of the Breakfast staff is an AWESOME PERSON. Friendly, Helpful & Informative. We truly Enjoy her 👍🏼👏🏼🌷
Strange smell In our room.
Spacious room. Very nice pool. Extensive breakfast with great outdoor eating area.
The location was good. It was well decorated and very clean. The patio was large with flowers and a lot of area to sit. The breakfast was delicious with a lot of options. The staff was great.

The location is great, the room was large, and the staff took good care of things.
The small window A/C unit was small for the size of the room and fairly noisy.
The staff was super helpful, the food was amazing for breakfast, the fresh chocolate chip cookies when we arrived, and the pool was super refreshing for the little kids. The space is cool with all of the greenscape, and our kids even got to see hummingbirds feeding on the vines on the patio. Super cool, super affordable, and if we are ever in Taos again this will be the only place we will stay.
Not a thing.
Breakfast buffet included regional New Mexican items like Tamales, Burritos, Green Chili, beans, pepper/0nion mix, salsa and a daily meat in addition to normal hotel buffet selections of waffles, muffins, yogurt, cereals etc. Coffee, espresso, hot chocolate machines were always available. Afternoon and evening offerings were tortillas and salsa and fresh cookies. Exceptional hospitality.
Wouldn’t change a thing. Everything was perfect- including the staff preparing and serving food and those at the desk in the front lobby.
The staff are all excellent and friendly. Our room is spacious and well-thought-out with plenty of room and the amenities here are great as well. The layout and amenities are well thought out—nice big bathroom, shelves, luggage racks, and more. The breakfast was all-you-can-eat and included tamales, beans, cereals, bagels, waffles, biscuits and gravy, yogurt, fresh fruit, juice, and more. There is also an all-day coffee machine for guests. There is a courtyard with tables where guests can eat outside as well as a swimming pool. We've had such a great experience here and will stay here every time we come to town.
Great breakfast
Could have been a bit cleaner in the rooms.
Everything- so great.
Not one thing.
I found the hotel on Bring Fido, and assumed from the price listed and the description that this would be higher-end property. I paid $485 (!) total for one night, so I was expecting more. Looking now, I see it averages closer to $200. There were 2 events going on in Taos, neither of which I was there for, which I think may have driven the price wayy up. Overall, I really wanted to like the place. I'm torn on whether I'd want to stay again (maybe for a far cheaper price). Pros: I like the laid-back vibe, dog-friendliness, and the really excellent breakfast. The rooms are very large and ours had a fireplace as well as a small balcony overlooking the grassy dog area. The room smelled of pinon woodsmoke, with typical Southwest decor, and it was very homey if a little old. The location is fantastic with the Plaza an easy walk away. The grounds are green and lush (considering the desert locale)! Cons: The worst thing was that the rooms had those old adjoining doors, and the guy next to us was extremely loud, waking us up at 6. The motel setup means that the pool is an island in the parking lot, not really the nicest. I wanted to swim in the morning before I left but couldn't because it didn't open until 10 AM.
This hotel had a wonderful open grassy area where you can sit with the complimentary evening chips and salsa or cookies. The breakfast was delicious and the pool was a nice break from the heat.
Nada
It was so bad we left a night early. The floor in our room was filthy. It was covered in dirt and white dog hair. We found and killed 3 bugs upon arrival... a grub, a small black beetle, and a spider. No cleaning service was included during our stay. We found this out at check in. Our room was adjacent to a noisy road and the walls are thin or poorly insulated for noise reduction. Motorcycles, racing cars, or just traffic, in addition to gunshots followed by red and blue lights flashing in the windows and a late arrival from our noisy neighbors made sleeping difficult to impossible. The bed was soft and warm. The rattling AC couldn't drop the temperature of the room below 72F. The room was dark and dingy. Oddly, the towels were really nice. It had a small fridge and microwave. The unheated pool was brisk but suitable for exercising. There is a hot tub beside it to warm up in. The pool was dirty... it just needed a pool vacuum to clean it out. The yellow jackets, who make a home in the pool fencing, were way too friendly. Our room overlooked a parking lot. This was not the vacation property we saw in the photos when we booked. The man at the check in desk was rude and unpleasant. Everyone else in Taos we met was nice. We did not eat the breakfast because of allergies. It look varied and interesting which is likely why this property is receiving good reviews. Or perhaps, the back part of the motel is better sound proofed, nicer or cleaner? At $450 for 24 hours it was horrible stay. Our room should be priced around $69 / night. Final note, a lot of places are closed on Sundays in Taos and most of the places we wanted to see were a long drive away. Santa Fe was way better.
It aspired to be exactly what it was, a 1960s southwestern style motor lodge--but better. Comfortable, clean, friendly, big rooms, large grassy areas with shade and comfortable groupings of trees.
This Lodge is a good location just a couple of blocks from the town center. The grounds are spacious and attractive. The staff friendly. The included breakfast excellent. But the facility is old and in need of updating. Our room was very large by current standards and included an working fireplace! But the bathroom was circa 1950s. The room did include a microwave and fridge. I suppose if they modernized the facility the prices would double, so there is a balance between price and quality.
Peaceful
The second floor for building three does not appear to have been renovated ever
Many things for families to do: pool, bean bags, frisbee, horseshoes, grills , etc.
It was an older style, but very nicely done
The breakfast buffet was great. Repetitive but everything was delicious and freshly prepared. The room was a little small but was comfortable and clean. The pool was perfect. The view of the Sacred Mountain was the first thing we saw when we opened the door of the room. The freshly made chocolate cookies were a bonus. All in all, we would stay there again.
Nothing.
Friendly staff, amazing green chili stew upon arrival and an incredible breakfast buffet! Refreshing pool, cute room, and super convenient location!
Nothing, it was a great stay!
Quiet atmosphere
Nice breakfast with burritos and various other goodies. Liked the laundry facilities (for dollar savings and convenience I don't take checked bags and rely on a hotel having guest laundry services to clean my clothes halfway through the trip). Taos is small so most places are convenient but this location was good (close to square and other shops). Free cookies at check-in was a nice touch.
Only 1% milk with buffet. Had difficulty getting employee with limited English skills to get me whole or 2% but eventually got half and half.
Breakfast was very good. Good selection, fresh and hot. Coffee bar was a nice surprise! Good location, easy access to restaurants. Great place to stay if traveling with a dog.
Clean and friendly
Our room smelled a little odd
Everything ! It was quiet, cozy, and felt like a vacation destination. The breakfast was great and eating under the huge trees outside was soooo relaxing. The breakfast patio was amazing ! Clean, easy and very nicely located. We loved it.
Absolutely nothing !
The room was scrupulously clean and pleasant, with a comfortable bed and plenty of room.
The eggs were "industrial" and the tamales and burrito over-microwaved to toughness of old leather. Please just heat in an oven! So the breakfast I had loved from before was a bit of a "bad deal" all the way around.
Conveniently located short walk to town
Nothing
Breakfast was great and the location was super convenient
Great breakfast and wonderful open grounds!
Love staying at El Pueblo when I’m in Taos!
The room was large, well furnished, and comfortable. The breakfast was generous with lots of different options. And the breakfast staff was very friendly and helpful.
The in-room refrigerator was noisy. I unplugged it for the duration of my stay. The bed was a little too soft for my taste.
The room was perfect, clean and comfortable. The breakfast exceeded my expectations. There were plenty of options with a full hot buffet. Lots of drink and cereal options. The pool was absolutely beautiful and very clean. The grounds were immaculate. You can't beat this location.
There was nothing I didn't like.
Location is amazing!
Well if you are spending 200 a night you’d expect good service which we didn’t get. As basic as requesting for cleaning up the room.
My husband booked us a three-night stay at this lodge for almost $600, based on the positive reviews. However, the breakfast was a complete disappointment, consisting of stale bread and muffins. The most appalling aspect of our stay was the housekeeping staff. They appeared to be either lazy, possibly unpaid, or simply unhappy with their work. Despite repeated requests, they failed to clean our rooms properly. They cleaned half the bathroom and left the rest and probably forgot to make the beds or empty the trash can To make matters worse, the front desk lady was completely indifferent to our ordeal. It had a great garden with tables & chairs. We started our morning in the garden with a great breakfast. The pool was nice & our grandkids had a great time! I also like the table & chairs right outside our room.
We had no complaints. The view was beautiful!
It was comfortable, convenient, and had all the amenities we wanted. I love that it retains its vintage charm while providing modern features. The rooms are spacious and the dining area was just lovely.
If not for some room issues I’d give it 5 stars. My wife and I each need 3 device charging ports and there was only one in the clock radio. We each have hearing aids and need an app on our phones to make adjustments. If not for me bringing a few charging plugs we’d be screwed. Also, the shower came with only 1 travel toothpaste, size shampoo.
Location, clean, space and breakfast
Breakfast was awesome!
The room was okay. It was clean and safe, which is #1, but not new. It would not keep us from staying again as we had a great stay.
Location is ideal for walking around Taos. Breakfast was wonderful! Enjoyed a dip in the pool. Dog friendly.
Facilities are a bit dated. To be expected in a hundred year old space.
We just spent two nights in El Pueblo Lodge and we really enjoyed. The room are great , clean and spacious. The pool and jacuzzi are really good after a hot day outside. The breakfast has everything you need and you even get a hot cookie and chips and salsa in the afternoon for snacks. I would definitively go back and recommend the place.
This was our first time in Taos. I feel like we hit the jackpot finding this property! The grounds were lush and immaculate. They are pet friendly and my dog didn't have to wear his boots because he could walk in the soft grass there opposed to rocks, dirt, and foxtails that are everywhere in that desert landscape. It's located in town so we could walk to shop and eat. The pool was lovely. There was a very nice complimentary breakfast each morning and snacks in the afternoons. Our room was spacious and clean. It had a sitting area in addition to the bed. It was really a suite. The bed and sheets were comfortable and quality, so were the towels. There was complimentary coffee in the room, a fridge, and microwave, hairdryer, box fan. Coffee was also available all day in the office. I highly recommend this place and we will stay here again when we travel to Taos.
Older place, well maintained. Great outdoor areas, breakfast and snacks.
Clean and nice staff
Breakfast not good
We have been stopping by Taos for 30 years and this is the first time we decided to stay at El Pueblo Lodge. It was simple, retro and super! My favorite part was the pool right before dark and the wood beamed ceiling. We slept well. Pillows were nice. Everything was clean. Staff was super friendly.
Cute property, great location, breakfast was delish and nice pool. Mattresses could have been a bit more comfy but overall we liked it and would stay here again!
Mattresses and A/C in room was a bit noisy.
It was clean and quiet. Great location. Breakfast was excellent.
Nothing
Great location, best breakfast & kitchen staff I have ever had before
To expensive…$ 185.00 a night
The charm
It was fantastic
Great location in Taos. Rooms were very clean and very comfortable. Included breakfast was incredible and cookies and chips and salsa in the afternoon. Will be back again!
No problems what so ever.
Cute hotel. Clean rooms. Friendly staff. Good breakfast
All aspects of the property and staff are top notch.
Older property but extremely well kept and cared for. The grounds are lovely. Location is very close to Taos Pueblo. Very good hot breakfast.
Lots of people with their dogs, remind them to pick up after them. We almost stepped in a couple...
Loved the room and the lights around the property at night. Very magical. It had a decent sized kitchen which was very useful. Also walkable to the main square and restaurants. I thought the location was great. You are able to park right outside the door. Staff were kind and friendly.
The wifi wasn't great and we weren't able to connect. As a result the tv kept going in and out. If you have someone sleeping in the living room on the pull out couch there is no door separating into the bedroom. So just to keep that in mind in terms of privacy and people watching tv in the other room.
location, staff, excellent breakfast, parrking
lodge
Charming and quaint. Very clean. Staff was beyond friendly and accommodating. I'd definitely stay there again if I'm ever in Taos. The single King with a fireplace was a very spacious room.
The rooms are very large and clean and the breakfast was very good. I accidentally left a necklace in the room after checkout and was extremely happy that the cleaning crew took it to the office. Would definitely stay here again
Lighting is dim
The breakfast was delicious 😋 and very friendly staff!
Everything was pretty good 👍
Loved this place! The king rooms are very spacious and the staff worked with us to get us 2 rooms together. The breakfast was phenomenal! I would definitely recommend El Pueblo Lodge.
Exellent breakfast.
No suggestion.
It was so close to everything and so clean and the staff was amazing
Property was great it was the barking dog next door to us that barked half the night
Breakfast was a full cut above most hotel breakfasts. Regional foods, fresh coffee, and a delightful outdoor garden space. The staff was super friendly, and went beyond expectations to provide service. The hotel is a piece of classic Americana, and worth a visit if you like the classic motor court style. Walk to downtown Taos is short and fully sidewalked.
The morning breakfast was set inside or outside on the portal overlooking a grassy area. Nice.
I wished it were more cozy like El Rey in Santa Fe with two vanity sinks. Not too fond of the scramble eggs but I'm an egg person and want perfection.
Motel was cute, room was decorated nicely, jacuzzi was the perfect temperature and rather large. Staff was helpful and quick to provide an extra towel when we asked for it as there were only 2 in the room we booked for 3 people.
Pool was very cold though it was said it was heated but it was very clean. Room could use some small maintenance such as chipped paint, door allowing light in, and air conditioner sounding like a windstorm.
We love stay here! The rooms are beautiful. There a large grasssy lawn and my dog was able to get some good playtime. We had both a front and back patio with chairs to sit on.
