The room was amazing, super spacious and very elegant. The free laundry facilities next door were super helpful.
The first room we were given had a terrible sewage smell. The staff were aware of this ongoing problem, and arranged for us to change rooms. But, it is an issue that should perhaps be addressed, instead of waiting for guests to complain? We appreciated that they changed our room, but it was a hassle to pack up again. The location is NOT very convenient. No supermarkets or good restaurants nearby, and the restaurants on site were incredibly expensive. The WiFi didn't work very well at all. The breakfast was outrageously expensive.
Fantastic stay with absolutely excellent staff and customer service! When the tour that I had booked failed to arrive, the concierge immediately arranged a new tour that mirrored the one that I had booked in the same day. Additionally, they upgraded my room for free when I expressed some concerns and then also arranged another tour to the Hunan Museum. Their customer service is impeccable and the hotel provided a wonderful experience that I highly recommend! Excellent and exceeded my expectations! A special thanks to this wonderful group of staff members!
When I have stayed in Zhengzhou, I always used the Holiday Inn Zhengzhou. But This time could not use it.
The building was so beautiful, with the friendliest most helpful staff. Easy walk to many local businesses for dining. I would recommend Crowne Plaza Zhengzhou to anyone.
Friendly staff, attentive service!
I stayed here for 1 night for business. The hotel has a beautiful, spacious lobby and has really nice character to it. However, the room did feel a little outdated. Pros: Friendly, professional staff. The front desk all spoke adequate English. They also provide transportation to the airport for a fee. Several restaurants on premise. I ate dinner at the café and it was decent. Delicious breakfast offered – freshly squeezed juice, omelette station, mix of western and Chinese foods. Good location – there are 2 bank ATM’s across the street, about 5 minutes walking. They both accept USA ATM cards for those who need cash. Fast, reliable WIFI Very comfortable bed Outlets in room are compatible with 2-prong USA plugs Cons: The bathroom has an automatic, motion sensor light. Problem is, it goes off after a couple of minutes. It was difficult taking a shower and having the light turn off constantly. The bathtub has a shower head but nowhere for it to be hung from. You will need to hold the shower head while showering.
The staff were so attentive, helping in any way they could my taxi and train travel was all helped by the amazing front-of-house staff. The restaurant staff were brilliant, even the managers helped out when it was busy a really good team. The location is great, the famous Shaolin temple is not far from the amazing city.
My room 1617 was a little warm for me when I first arrived.
Excellent
Everything was great
Breakfast was excellent. Staff very helpful and supportive. They went out of their way to help us with the language barrier. They confirm with the driver where we wanted to go. Thanks, especially for Emilia. She was a great help.
Everything in hotel was good.
The staff were very good, one was exceptionally helpful with information about transport, dining and in general. Food for breakfast was good, lots of variety, slightly expensive. Very comfortable room. Near a few less known historic sites
Breakfast slightly expensive, internet intermittent, and occasional problem with Tv reception
Bad luck with Crown Plaza again I must admit that I had no positive experience with almost any Crown Plaza I stayed in the past years, and this time Crown Plaza Zhengzhou in Henan province China really made me decide that I will not stay with any Crown Plaza again. I was in Zhengzhou for a short stay to meet a potential business client, and Crown Plaza was located in the CBD where the client was. Some research on the net showed mixed experiences but overall no dramatically negative comments, and therefore I clicked to confirm my booking with reward points for one night. Location was in the CBD vicinity and the premises looked it had its golden age passed long ago. Front desk staff was polite but not proactive nor attentive. During check-in process they had always been distracted by people jumping the queue with all sorts of funny questions and requests. Someone assigned to do the house keeping at front desk during peak hours would manage the situation much better. The room was small but adequate for my purposes although the nostalgic deco was not to my taste. Flat panel TV but in smallish size. Primitive bath room consisted of a toilet bowl next to a bathtub which served also as a make-do shower booth with a plastic curtain. The room was unusually warm when I entered after check-in and I noticed that air condition was not functioning, but I didn’t deal with it because I had to rushed to the appointment and thought that it might work out fine when I was back. However my wish was not materialised and the air-conditioning was just not working at all. Checking with the front desk and I was told the air-conditioning was not activated because the weather just turned warm after a cold spell and it might cool down again in the evening! But it was 6:30 pm, and my room was like 30°C+ after a day’s sunlit without air-conditioning for cooling down. I was offered options to either keep the small 1/4 part of window open, or changed to another room also without functioning air conditioning. I declined the offers because 1) keeping the widow open would allow inflow of noise and unpleasant odour from the kitchens nearby 2) change to another room without functional air-conditioning would be waste efforts. So I decided to checked out after only a few hours of checking-in, without any refund of points or compensation. I didn’t mind that because I really wanted to get away from it, and moved to the InterContinental nearby. This time, plus all past less than pleasant experiences with Crown Plaza in different cities in China and in Europe, I decided to take it out from my listing of preferred hotel accommodation.
The cleaning service is very bad
They didn’t clean the room good and they didn’t wash the glasses and no water , bad stay and will never come back again
Room temperature was too hot and stuffy.
Miss Echo Niu from the reception was very friendly and professional. She helped me with train tickets and invoice issues. Thank you. Hotel was clean, well located. There is a swimming pool and quite well equipped gym.
Not in walking distance to the mall, but taxi is readily available. Staffs are very friendly and helpful to attend to requests. Breakfast was good
No eatery around & not near to shopping mall
Really wonderful experience,we are very comfortable in Crowne plaza ,centrally located & enjoy chines food
This hotel located in the old downtown and has been around for many years and from the pictures in their hotel corridor you can see many previous dignitaries and state leaders were staying in this hotel before. Although it is a Crowne Plaza but the architect and ambience still portraying the old glamour and history of the hotel. Room is a bit small in size but it has all my need for business traveler, room is clean and breakfast is good.
位置和服务很好,设备稍微旧了一点,还是很满意的
午前0時以降に部屋に帰ってくることが多く、レストランなど深夜にやってないサービスが多かった。
Room is very clean. Breakfast is excellent. Bus stop is nearby. Room price is very reasonable.
This is an elegant old style hotel with grand lobby - marble columns and staircase with guilded wall decoration. I had a suite which was very well appointed. Very comfortable bed. Very quiet room even with the windows open. Problems - the AC didn't work, blowing hot air no matter what the thermostat setting - I turned it off. Also there was a periodic smell from the toilet. Other than that it was excellent. The hotel has several restaurants including a very nice breakfast and dinner buffet. An excellent value for the price.
Room conditions are excellent. Bed is very comfortable. Stay here 7 days already. Still have 5 more days to go.
窓のブラインドが硬く開けるのに苦労した。
Stayed in this hotel for 3 nights while on a business trip. There are 2 other major hotels in the same compound, namely the Sofitel and Holiday Inn Express. Behind the hotel is a massage center where you can have a foot or body massage for a resonable price. Prices and types of massage are displayed in English also. The hotel rooms are quite spacious and comfortable. Buffet breakfast is not an issue for anyone as they have both western and Chinese selections. The Italian restaurant, Mama Mia, on the ground floor serves pizza, pasta and meat dishes. If you wish to try other food, there are restaurants along and opposite the hotel. The staffs are very helpful and are able to converse in English. CNN and BBC news are available in your room television. Wifi is free and available throughout the hotel.
The property made on the first impression a nit an aged impression but it turned out to be one to be well maintained and the dinner buffet was real excellent - beyond expectations. And looking now back it was the best hotel experience I had in my 14 days China trip.
VERY NICE AND COMFORTABLE HOTEL AT A VERY ATTRACTIVE PRICE. HARD TO BEAT THIS VALUE
I was with a group traveling to Zhongzhou for a conference. We Stayed at this lovely old hotel which was very accommodating. Most staff spoke English and were very helpful when making plans. The rooms were plentiful, clean and quiet. Unlike most hotels these were nonsmoking. The breakfast was good with mostly Chinese fare
Very clean hotel food also very good great sports bar
Mamma Mia restaurant in the hotel is a lifesaver, especially if you don't like Chinese food like me. I ate their Pizza three times a day and it never got old, might just be the best pizza I ever had. The rest of the hotel is just okay, second time I stayed I got bed bugs... But I didn't care cuz I had pizza. People around the city are Super nice!
well, i had a room on 2 stages on the ground floor. notvery usefull. a nightmare to choose the suitable light and to switch off everything, An alarm rang for hours because a door was not properly close. nobody did something. . the breakfast is poor and coffee was not good. Well not a nice night ...
All hotel staff are very courteous and helpful. Ted Young was prompt and efficient in arranging our transport and a very good driver to Kaifeng and also the Shaolin Zen Night Performance at Dengfeng!
Wife and I booked into this hotel for four nights. In general it was a very nice hotel albeit very much "over the top" in the Chinese way. I had lived in China for four years so I knew what to expect. Service was excellent and the room was lovely and comfortable. We spent a lot of time trying to negotiate the lighting system in the room. Why cant hotels just go back to simple switches near the bed and door? Although there were "No Smoking" signs everywhere no one seemed to take any notice of the rule. When a wedding party took place near our room smoke was billowing down the hallway. There is a constant smell of smoke. I questioned the reception staff and they apologised profusely however did nothing. While I was checking out a young man standing at the counter calmly spat on the floor near my feet. Having lived in China I should be aware of this but in a "5 star" hotel I would have thought they could control such habits.
I have stayed at this hotel a few times over the years, but this time opted to stay in a studio room. This is pretty much a home away from home with two storeys of comfort including a living room and work space. It was also very quiet which gave me a pleasant working experience and I was surprised by how little it cost. The hotel has moved on and service levels have improved. I no longer felt like I was 'the only laowai in the village' and more so just blended into the scenery. Likewise, the local area has also dramatically improved and many of the construction projects are complete. Walking to the nearby mall and restaurant area is no longer as dangerous as it once was! All in all, no problems recommending this hotel with five stars!
The building itself is really old and tacky, but beyond that, the hotel is very nice and cleaned. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. Breakfast was really good, all sorts of foods. Gym and pool very nice as well.
When you visit a Crowne Plaza hotel, you have certain expectations. Unfortunately, this hotel did not meet mine. Not that it is a bad hotel to stay in, but it is not up to pat in comparison to other hotels in China. My room was basic and rather small. But what bothered red me is the wear in the room (see pictures). From rusty mirrors, to mold in the bathtub and broken furniture. Even for a hotel that is not new, I expect the management to make sure rooms are kept in top condition.
The Crowne Plaza is in the same premises as the Holiday Inn, Holiday Inn express and the Sofitel. Rooms are clean and well maintained. Decent breakfast and an Italian restaurant for vegetarian options. Staff speaks limited English except at the reception. Rooms are well furnished although small by usual Chinese standards.
Overall it was a good experience, the front desk staff at check in did not speak much English but she really tried to explain herself. The room was superb, although the separation between the bathtub and the room is a screen film and not a glass door. Since it was just myself, it was ok but if you travel with someone else, there is no much privacy from the toilet area to the bedroom in the suite I was. I would also suggest to have better signage to the swimming pool as it is on the second tower, the cleaning staff was very nice to show me the way, otherwise I would not have found it Room service staff was wonderful! Although she made a mistake on the order, she corrected it right away and was very kind The Sunday lunch buffet was really good for the price, a nice selection of dishes.
Nice hotel located in the central place in Zhengzhou, easily to access. Free parking, and warm welcome from the front desk. Big swimming pool and gyms, breakfast tomorrow try. I like the room of this hotel very much, for me they update the room as duplex room, the bedroom up stair, and living room down stair, quite interesting and i am happy with it.
Stayed at the hotel while on business in China the hotel is excellent and staff were very helpful and always happy to assist The rooms were very good and as a spire elite member was upgraded as expect the only complaint was the at the wifi was very slow but will be visiting the hotel again soon on our return
Firstly, we are big IHG fans and spend around 20 nightsba year in their hotels, however this CP is a big miss. The staff, with the exception of one bellboy, were perfunctory and clearly just going through the motions. They lacked warmth, and any of friendliness that you normally get in a five-star hotel. The rooms was OK, although it was on the small side and the decoration is way OTT. I have also reviewed the dreadful hotel restaurant "Mama Mia" on this site. In summary, we had spent the previous night at the Hilton a few hundred metres up the road, and for the same money, it is a superior hotel in every respect.
Excellent room service, room equipment on the really high level, friendly staff, but sometimes to discuss with them in English language. For European visitors there is possibility to get European breakfast, for who dont like chinese food it very important
The Crowne Plaza Zhengzhou is nestled in a bustling part of the city near several international hotels but not in any tourist area. There are two great parks within walking distance with a Walmart and upscale mall nearby, accessed by walking, taxi, or uber. Staff was wonderful and most spoke English well and were anxious to help out. Breakfast from 6:00-10:00 was full service with European, American, and Asian fare. Even though the hotel is in the heart of the city, rooms are quiet and spacious.
Stayed at the Crowne Plaza in Zhengzhou on our way to the Shaolin Temple. The rooms are very nice and well renovated, almost feels like new. The hotel also has a very nice and well attended swimming pool area. The gym next to it was a bit small, but there were also two ping pong tables, which can be fun. Lastly, we really appreciated the service from the Chief Concierge Barry, who helped us to arrange our visit to the Shaolin Temple and also recommend some tasty local food.
Best hotel enjoy my stay They up grade the room
We have been regulars to this hotel and always been treated extremely well. It has improved every time we are back. This time we have stayed in the new suite room for 11 days. except last 2 days our air-con broke and sitting room ceiling lights broke. No doubts we will be back again hopefully all electrical problems sorted out. Breakfast is lovely with lots of choices, be aware when it is busy, seriously is busy!
Room too hot, too small, for location only. For business travelers only who want to be in the city center.
Good pool, renovation in progress.
Rooms are old but remodel in process. Suite is not worth it. Gym and pool are great. Good bar. Decent food. Good service.
Good clean hotel. Good choice of restaurants. Will use it again.
It is a good hotel, but a little expensive. There are good options near by, like the Holiday Inn.
Location is good, room was OK. We did not have time to take breakfast in the morningNot all staff speak english
the hotel is so old, it is a three star hotel, not a five star hotel where it is listed on the Chinese hotel web. but, there are only four international hotels in this city, so will have to stay there next time,
