Food was great. But the location they placed us at was horrible right by where all the dump trucks were bringing the seaweed. Don’t stay in the Sunshine Tower by the beach. They will put you there to make money off that tower because no one wants to stay there because it’s so close to smell of the seaweed at the beach. Horrific smell you can’t even sit outside.

I’m writing to express my disappointment with our experience at the Moon Palace in the Sunshine Tower. I had specifically requested a good view and a convenient location for both rooms we had reserved. Unfortunately, we were placed in the worst possible spot in the resort. As we were being taken to our room, we noticed a horrible smell that was caused by the seaweed on the ocean. We then realized that we were placed in one of the oldest towers, located by the jungle, near a dirty filthy beach filled with seaweed with an unpleasant odor. We didn’t even have a garden view; instead, we were surrounded by the jungle and the horrible smell of seaweed. The opposite side of the tower had a garden view, but the whole tower was very close to the horrible smell. We couldn’t even go outside on the balcony or use the hammock because of the strong odor. The dump trucks were picking up all the seaweed from the ocean and taking it near my room, which is why it smelled so bad in our location. The elevators were also inaccessible because they were malfunctioning. The inside of both rooms were very dirty. I had to clean them myself because the staff neglected to maintain them. There was trash under things that they never moved or cleaned under, like the ice box and coffee maker, and the decorations on the restroom counter. There was also dirt in the corners, and dirt under the bed. The sinks in both rooms weren’t functioning properly. They weren’t draining as they should, and the knob on one faucet was loose. They even put a comforter with holes on the bed even after I complained to the front desk about the outside smell and the cleanliness of the room. The conditioner bottle in one room wasn’t working. The curtains on the balcony window haven’t been changed as they were very dirty. The bartender in the Sunshine lobby named Omar was disrespectful. He raised his voice at me and made gestures with his hands and told me to calm down and not rush him.

The staff, manager and receptionist at Sunrise, and all the attendants at the stores both Nezuc and The Grand acted like if it was a burden to attend the customers making faces and rolling their eyes not professional and spa at The Grand they all acted like if they had no experience with customers living everyone figuring out what to do next bad experience with them.

El servicio y el personal es excelente, la comida cumple, la ubicación es buena, es un muy buen hotel para ir con niños.

La piscina es vieja, el veneciano se está desprendiendo, inclusive me corté el pie. El mar y la playa, aunque no es culpa del hotel y reconociendo las extenuantes labores de limpieza de su personal, es feo y de color café y apesta un poco.

I don’t like the fact that we had to wait 1:30 minutes for a burger and a fries at the waterpark because the fast food had run out of plates every time you go back there they tell you to go back in 20 minutes and nothing happens basically even though when they had plates, they had asked me to go back in 30 minutes so that’s how it ended up 1:30 minutes in total waiting for three burgers and three french fries I was very, very, very disappointed with the service at waterpark

She was very helpful. It was a great class, better than some of the classes I take back home. She was also very good at fixing our form !

Jess is fabulous. I took her yoga and Pilates class, and she works you out.

Overall, the hotel itself was beautiful, clean, and well maintained. Unfortunately, the level of service, especially at the Nizuc buffet and a few of the restaurants, did not match the quality of the resort. Service was very inconsistent. While a few staff members were friendly, many made us feel like we were an inconvenience rather than valued guests. We were often ignored at the buffet while trying to get drinks or assistance, even when it was clear we were waiting. It was frustrating to watch other guests receive attentive, friendly service while we struggled to get basic attention. It also seemed that staff became noticeably more attentive if they believed they were about to receive a tip. At times, it genuinely felt as though we were treated differently, and while I can’t say for certain why, it left us wondering whether our appearance or the fact that we didn’t speak Spanish influenced the way we were treated. No guest should leave a luxury resort feeling overlooked or unwelcome. One other disappointment was the constant sales pressure. Shortly after arriving, we were approached about touring The Grand. The staff was extremely friendly and engaging until we politely declined. The moment we said we weren’t interested, their entire demeanor changed. The smiles disappeared, and the interaction became noticeably less welcoming. It made the friendliness feel insincere and purely sales driven. I would also caution future guests about purchasing the “special deal” offered at checkout that includes resort credits. We were told the credits would provide great value, but in reality, they were extremely limited in what they could be used for. To make matters worse, you still have to pay a 16% service fee on whatever you redeem with those credits. We found the credits to be far less valuable than they were presented, and we left feeling misled. We expected warm, consistent hospitality from a resort of this caliber, and unfortunately, that was not our experience.

I had both a massage and a facial with Deissy, and the experience was absolutely amazing! Deissy is professional, attentive, and truly skilled at what she does. She took the time to make sure I was comfortable throughout the entire session and customized the treatments to my needs. I left feeling completely relaxed and refreshed. I highly recommend Deissy to anyone looking for exceptional spa services.

Service is wonderful! So much for everyone. We have several restaurants we loved and would repeat more than once. Johnathan who works in noir and grand night club was amazing! He served us last year and took great care of us this year.

This trip we stayed at Moon Palace Nizuc. Per usual the facility as a whole was very clean, the rooms were cleaned daily with evening services as well. The staff was polite and very kind. Our stay was incredibly peaceful and relaxing. Our family has a membership which makes our trips very affordable. We spent time at Sunrise and The Grand as well. It's never been a bad experience with Moon Palace. I do have to give a major shout out to Jeremias Rolero Lopez, one of the golf cart drivers. Each and every time we've been there he provides such a personalized experience. He goes above and beyond every single time. He is punctual, reliable and so caring. Thank you Jeremias for such great customer service! It's staff like him that makes visitors like us feel like family. We will be back again soon!

This was our second stay at Moon Palace — our first was in the winter of 2025, and honestly, that trip set a high bar. Summer is a different experience. The resort felt oversold, understaffed, and genuinely overcrowded. Getting a same-day restaurant reservation was a real challenge, and it showed in service wait times throughout. If crowd levels matter to you, I'd strongly recommend the winter months. That said — we still love this resort, and this trip had moments that were truly unforgettable. Staff worth calling out by name (Moon Palace recognizes top staff with trips for their families, so I want to be specific): *Wilma — outstanding poolside service at the Olympic/activity pool. Attentive, warm, and consistent. *Jorge — excellent poolside service at the Cusco pool area. *Miguel & Christian — our swim-up bar crew at the Cusco pool. They made the afternoons. *The adults-only pool waiter on Thursday, July 16th — we were near the DJ booth, left side when facing the DJ, and we never caught his name but he was exceptional. Seamless service during a packed afternoon. If management can identify him, he absolutely deserves recognition. KidZone is a genuine highlight for traveling parents. Knowing our little one was safe, entertained, and happy gave us real adult time — whether that was the adults-only pool (DJ, incredible seafood, great vibe) or a quiet dinner without negotiating the kids' menu. ***The Monarca Experience on Friday, July 17th was the undeniable highlight of the entire trip.***It's a dinner-and-show with food and wine pairings — theatrical, funny, interactive, and genuinely stunning. The literature says adults only, but I called ahead and they graciously accommodated my 5-year-old with a special menu. He was every bit as captivated as the adults. I don't say this lightly: there is not a sulky teenager or a skeptical adult alive who could sit through Monarca without laughing, gasping, and getting pulled to their feet to dance. It's an extra charge — and it is completely, unequivocally worth every peso. Book it before you arrive. Bottom line: Moon Palace in summer requires patience and realistic expectations around staffing and reservations. But the infrastructure, the experiences — especially Monarca — and the standout staff members who show up every day make it hard to write off. We'll be back. Just probably not in July.

This was my first all inclusive resort experience. My expectations were very different than what I experienced. Cons: - The beach is disgusting with all the seaweed & it was highly disappointing because my expectations were laying on that pretty beach with unlimited drinks and food. - Pools close at 7 and water park at 6. This is not ideal for families with teen kids. - The outside hallway noise is extremely loud, there is no insulation in the door/wall area. I even slept with a sound machine and could still hear. So all in all, the main complaint for me is the beach. We paid a ton of money to hangout at the pool and waterpark. Pros: - Staff was always nice and welcoming and even fun. - The restaurants were great! The steak was the best steak I’ve ever had. - The beds were comfortable and everything was always taken care of as far as room service, things being stocked, etc. - The resort is so big that it didn’t really feel over crowded. - I had fun with my family. It was perfect for ages 8+

Diego and Jesus were very kind and great teachers! They made sure me and my family had a great time even though we have never sailed before. I would recommend everyone to try this out, they were both great!

There is a hut on the beach at Sunrise near the asardo restaurant. They have sail boat and kayak that you can take out. Ran into Diego and Jesus that day. Went sailing with Diego. Very friendly and knowledgeable guy. Can't go wrong with either. Wish had found them earlier. Use the "c" shuttle to get to them. Would go again if there was more time.

Gondola was a perfect selection for Italian dinner. Our hosts Javier and Guadalupe were spot on with their attention and enthusiasm. We asked for our pasta to be prepared to our liking and Gondola came through. Awesome!!!

Amazing and hands down worth every penny. Consider staying at the Golf villas with a private golf cart included. Loved the food and drinks and of course the amenities that the hotel offered. If you are a golfer, the 3 courses are beautiful and well maintained. Love this place and well be back. One of the most memorable dinners was the dinner at Pier 8 where our server Maria made every aspect of a dinner a delight. The staff even came out to sing me happy bday. Little things like this go a long way.

Luis at the recreation pool in sunrise made the experience 100x better. Brilliant at his job, making everyone get involved and have fun, definitely would recommend as he made the atmosphere way better and brought energy to the environment.

Luis at the pool brought brilliant energy and liveliness. Couldn’t have done a better job with all the activities he hosted. His Dancing class was enjoyable and he added real value to the pool. Good atmosphere overall, couldn’t ask for a better person to be in charge.

Reservé para el disfrute de mis hijos pero no había accedo al parque acuático está autorizado solo para huéspedes del Grand Palace, la piscina estaba con el agua turbia y existían unos líquidos de color café en la superficie del agua y los bordes de las piscinas están sucios de color negro, muy desagradable

The sunrise building is beautiful and the restaurants look very upscale. The food was great for dinner but breakfast was terrible. The bartenders at the swim up bar were absolutely amazing I would go back only for them. Most of the staff we interacted with were nice. I like that they had a gym but get there early if you don’t want to wait for every machine.

The entire place smelt horrible. We couldn’t even open our sliding door to get some fresh air because it smelt awful. The breakfast food was terrible, had absolutely no seasoning on anything at the buffet. The pool was gross, there were green spots floating around the edge of the pool, a couple people threw up in it and it wasn’t cleaned, its been a month since I’ve left moon palace and my hair still stinks from the pool water. The rooms weren’t cleaned properly, there was trash still in the trash can when we arrived and hair products left in the shower.

The meals, breakfast had good variety. I liked the kids club, but still had to stay with my 3YO all through the day.

Lunch was a bit limited. Long queues for large families like mine. Wait time was up to 30mins for every buffet meal. Eventuall most dinner where at other restaurants. Nizuc was quieter and no queues but very limited meals. Wide expanse of the pools, umbrellas where limited. Had lots of sun burns from moving around the pool to fetch towels, getting meals, drinks, or even getting some free space for the family to camp.

There was a lot of sargazo and none could swim or be at the sea which is not mentioned in the description that the sea at the moment is not to be used, we were at the “wrong” side of the hotel if you want to go to the “nice” side of the hotel I needed to pay extra 200 usd p.p which is not clearly mentioned in the booking.

This was one of the most disappointing resort experiences our family has ever had. The biggest issue was the service culture. Throughout our stay, many staff members seemed far more interested in selling upgrades, memberships, and packages than actually helping guests. Genuine hospitality was surprisingly hard to find. We are happy to tip for good service, but what bothered us was the feeling that some employees had already decided whether guests were “worth helping” before any service was even provided. Several interactions left us feeling judged rather than welcomed. Check-in was another major problem. We waited over an hour despite very few people being in line. The front desk employee who assisted us was rude and dismissive. He insisted that our room could not accommodate the bedding arrangement shown on our reservation and attempted to push a room upgrade costing more than $700 per night. Only after requesting a manager and waiting even longer was the issue resolved without the expensive upgrade. The rooms felt old, humid, and outdated. Bedding felt damp, and the overall condition was far below what we expected at this price point. The food was equally disappointing. Despite having many restaurants, we struggled to find a single memorable meal. Even specialty restaurants served food that was poorly prepared. Activities were limited, the pools closed surprisingly early, and several events were canceled. The beach was covered with seaweed and debris, and unlike many nearby resorts, there appeared to be little effort to keep it usable. What makes this especially frustrating is that Moon Palace charges prices comparable to many higher-end resorts in Cancun. After leaving, we stayed at another resort in a similar price range, and the difference in service, food quality, accommodations, and overall experience was dramatic.

Great Pilates class with Jess! A good balance of tough but fun!

The beach Pilates class was great! Jess was an excellent instructor!

The location is close to the airport. The kids loved all the restaurant choices and activities. I enjoyed working out at the beach with Jess and starting my day off right before family fun.

Lots of options on site and great entertainment. The Glow Show was amazing! Took a Pilates class with Jess and she kicked my butt, had a great workout with the ocean as our background!

My family have the pleasure of being serviced by Julia, Fany and Yolanda, and it was outstanding service. I will come back for their services.

Ernesto el Bailarín is one of the highlights of our stay at Moon Palace! We first met him two years ago, and coming back to see him again made our trip even more special. He is always smiling, full of energy, and genuinely kind to every guest he meets. Not only does he make amazing ice cream, but he also creates such a fun and welcoming atmosphere. He remembers people, makes everyone feel appreciated, and always goes above and beyond to brighten our day. His positive attitude and sweet personality are unforgettable. The restaurants were good, every single staff member was fantastic, and we had so much fun at the pool. The all inclusive even included the minibar in our room--which was especially great for the huge bottles of water they provided--and they also provided a bath towel and slippers! The Palace Company transportation to and from the hotel and airport was super convenient and made us feel more comfortable.

The bed sheets smelled a little musty; however I don't think the resort staff is at fault for this (i.e. it was not due to a lack of cleanliness). Whenever we approached our building, you could faintly smell mustiness--I think it is because the building includes so much real wood and the area is too humid to allow for that without it getting to much moisture. We also didn't go to the beach because there was tons of seaweed and it just didn't look that appealing (but the resort definitely kept the beach clean.) Be aware that the ocean is not anything like the picture shows--the water is not clear. However, we had so much fun at the pool and with all the pool activities that we did not care about not using the beach.

Highly recommend this trainer! I recently took a HIIT class led by Yesenia, and it was one of the best workouts I’ve had in a long time. From the moment the class started, she brought incredible energy that kept everyone motivated and pushing through even the toughest intervals. Yesenia is an excellent coach she explained every exercise clearly, offered great modifications for different fitness levels, and paid close attention to form to make sure we were doing the movements safely and effectively. Her encouragement was genuine and uplifting, which made me work harder than I thought I could. The class was challenging but so much fun. I left feeling accomplished, energized, and stronger. Whether you’re new to HIIT or a seasoned athlete, Yesenia knows exactly how to lead a class that delivers results while keeping it enjoyable. Thank you Yesenia for an amazing session! I’ll definitely be back for more of your classes.

Staff is extremely nice and helpful. The room in the Grand was amazing.

The initial room in the Sunrise was not as imagined. We were expecting accommodations to sleep 4 adults. It was my husband, myself, and our 20 year old son. Although there was a sleeper sofa, we had to request a roll-away bed. There was no door for privacy that separated the common area from the bedroom. The dining table had many ants on it when we woke up the second day we were there. We we're upgraded to the Grand, and the room was much better. Outside of the building, 93, there was a horrendous smell. We were told it was rotting seaweed. The second night at the Grand, there was a huge cockroach in the master bedroom bathroom. This morning, when we left, there was a huge cockroach in the master bedroom bathroom. I'm not sure if it was the same one. My husband removed it with a towel and placed it outside from the balcony.

The massage was very good. Lidia was exceptionally good. She used the right pressure & everything. My only complaint is, that by the time we get settled on to the massage table, 15-20 minutes has gone by & so you DO NOT get a full 80 minutes.

It was a fantastic trip and I greatly enjoyed the exceptional service. There was also plenty of plan activities to do! Jess did an excellent job instructing yoga on the beach! She also did a great job of explaining the either activities and where they could be located for the remainder of our stay

La piscine est très grande et on ne se sent pas les uns sur les autres. Playroom et espaces enfants extras. Les restaurants (l'italien et l'asiatique surtout) sont de qualité. L'application est intuitive et facile à utiliser. L'utilisation des voitures de golf pour se déplacer dans cet hotel immense est un plus. Je ne vois pas vraiment ce qui pourrait manquer.

Il faut vraiment être pointilleux mais de longues attentes parfois aux bureaux pour parfois juste une information. Le parc aquatique du Grand est vendu cher alors qu'il n'est pas exceptionnel. La plage était déserte car il y a des sargasses malgré le gros travail de l'hotel pour les réduire.

I really enjoyed the functional fitness class with Yesenia.It was a perfect amount of exercise to enjoy a guilt, free breakfast after. Very easy to follow and adaptable to all levels of fitness.
