Our first impression of Dreams Aventuras was positive. The property looked nice and staff initially seemed friendly. Unfortunately, our experience deteriorated significantly as the week progressed. Our bathroom was terribly designed. I’m 5’10” and the showerhead barely cleared my height, while the shower door was so inadequate that every shower flooded the bathroom. We constantly needed extra towels, yet housekeeping was incredibly inconsistent. We regularly chased down towels, toilet paper and soap. We requested shower soap FIVE times before going to the front desk. When we asked for toilet paper, we received ONE roll and were treated as though requesting more was unreasonable. Food was a major disappointment. The resort advertises numerous restaurants, yet several were closed each night, funneling guests into whichever few they chose to open. We tried every restaurant. There were occasional bright spots—the steak at Portofino and breakfast omelet station—but overall, quality and consistency were extremely poor. This ranks among our most disappointing resort dining experiences. We both experienced significant stomach issues from the food. Even food felt rationed; ask for bacon and you might receive a tiny amount. Drinks were equally disappointing. I never saw fresh fruit used in my regular cocktails. My mango daiquiri was powder mixed with water and tasted like Kool-Aid. We’d specifically request Smirnoff or Absolut and repeatedly receive a completely different bottom-shelf Polish vodka that tasted like rotten tequila. The ONE exception was Marco, the evening lobby mixologist. He was fantastic and made quality cocktails with good ingredients. He was easily our only highlight. One of the two small pools is Preferred Club only, funneling everyone else into a pool that cannot comfortably accommodate the 300 room resort. It was extremely crowded and visibly cloudy/filthy. We left within 15 minutes after seeing kids spitting in the water. Far from relaxing. The lagoon wasn't a good alternative. There were sharp rocks—I cut my toe simply walking along the water—and enough algae/debris that our group didn't want to swim there. The final straw was the lunch buffet. The resort app listed closing as 4:30 PM. We arrived at 3:30. Before 4:00, staff began pressuring us to leave. I explained THEIR app said 4:30. They didn't care. A server stood nearby glaring at us while we finished, and the AC was turned off while we were still eating. I left sweating, angry and feeling completely unwelcome. This wasn't just two picky travelers. Our group reached 17 people, and many experienced similar frustrations. We originally booked another Dreams property, but after booking were informed it would become adults-only August 14. Our stay ran through August 17, and because we had teenagers, we had to relocate. Dreams Aventuras never felt like a comparable replacement. It felt like our money had already been collected, we'd been moved here, and what happened afterward wasn't a priority. We felt trapped and discarded. Overall, this felt like a resort cutting corners everywhere. We travel extensively and don't expect perfection. We DO expect basic hospitality, cleanliness, decent food and the services advertised. We left shocked this property operates under the Hyatt umbrella because our experience was nowhere near the standard we associate with Hyatt. Marco deserves recognition, but one excellent employee couldn't compensate for an otherwise deeply disappointing week. We would not return or recommend Dreams Aventuras. Put it this way: our BEST meal and favorite night was when we LEFT the resort for a local burrito restaurant. Delicious food and mango margaritas made with REAL FRUIT! What a magical, innovative concept. 😝 This was the first time I came home from a tropical vacation more tired than when I arrived. Nothing about this experience was relaxing.
Julieta in the spa was terrific! She was very professional and knew exactly what she was doing. She has 27 years of experience. I highly recommend the full body scrub, 50 minute facial, and 50 minute relaxation massage!
Friendly staff and a lot to eat and many things to do. Highly recommend the out of the resort “cenotes” experience. In the resort, the vibe was awesome, and the weather was just perfect.
We had a wonderful, relaxing stay as a family of four with two teenage girls. The hotel is pristine, the atmosphere is incredibly relaxing, and the staff are amazing, friendly, and exceptionally helpful throughout. Major perks include no wristbands, delicious food and entertainment, and top-shelf alcohol! We went on two great excursions to Isla Mujeres and swimming with turtles—both highly recommended, though do keep in mind Isla Mujeres gets quite busy. The resort worked tirelessly to manage the seasonal sargassum (seaweed) that impacts this stretch of coastline. While nature meant we couldn't fully enjoy the lagoon or saltwater bath during our trip, the resort itself had everything we needed for a brilliant holiday. Highly recommended!
We went to sit on the beach and watch the waves. Unfortunately some bonehead decided it was a good idea to build an 8 foot rock wall, blocking the entire view. It would have been worth it if the wall wasn’t there.
Extremely Disappointing Resort Experience Unfortunately, this was one of the worst resort experiences we’ve ever had. From the moment we arrived, there were problems. Nobody greeted us or helped with our luggage, and despite having Preferred Status, the check-in experience was extremely disorganized. We waited about 20 minutes for an elevator, then arrived at the Preferred lounge only to find the person handling check-in wasn’t there. The lounge was crowded with no available seating. Our room initially looked nice, but the closet door didn’t open and the bathroom lock didn’t work, resulting in one of our children getting stuck inside. These are basic safety and maintenance issues that should have been fixed before the room was occupied. The resort itself was small, dated, and poorly maintained. The pool looked dirty enough that our kids refused to go in. There were cracked tiles and broken equipment throughout the property, including ice machines and games in the teen club. The teen club is featured in the hotel’s marketing, yet several games didn’t work and there were no snacks or water available. Food service was equally frustrating. Pizza was listed on the menu, but we were repeatedly told it wasn’t available—even while we watched other children eating pizza. Food service also involved extremely long wait times. Things became so bad that we decided to move to another hotel. Our travel agent repeatedly emailed and called the resort, but nobody responded. When we went to the front desk, we were initially told they had no emails. After insisting they check, they finally found the emails from the previous day. Eventually, they allowed us to check out early—but still penalized us for leaving early. For what we paid, and especially with Preferred Status, we expected a clean, well-maintained resort and a much higher level of service. Very disappointing experience. We would not recommend this resort, and Preferred Status was absolutely not worth the extra cost.
Honestly the worst experience ever, cold, unseasoned food. No seafood at the seafood restaurant. Terrible room service that doesn't clean the room or leave new towel. never restocked the fridge. kids near the bars ordering drinks and in the adults only side of the pool. dirty spa with pooling unsanitary water on the seats in the steam room. staff that doesn't understand English. watered down drinks at the bars. Tricked into a Time share presentation that they SWEAR isn't a time share its a "vacation club". held hostage for 3 hours and then when we were finally called a taxi back to our resort our day was over. Stayed for 6 days and 7 nights of hell at a supposed 5 star hotel. Save your money and book somewhere else.
We stayed in a sea view room with the preferred club option. The staff were amazing and we have never been made to feel so welcome . The food was very good but not all restaurants were open and our Oceana restaurant was closed for the first week. The preferred pool is good with sun-beds etc available all day. Very nice mix of people in the resort . The entertainment was hit and miss but my son and I did good rendition of Sweet Caroline on the Karaoke night which went down well. The resort does need some work as things are looking tired and no air on in the teen hangout made it unusable . Overall a nice holiday made by the staff.
The staff was incredible !! But if you’re looking for entertainment not recommended.. After dinner nothing to do!! Preferred was a joke!! all you get is one bar with premium alcohol
Abigail was the highlight of the trip!! She brought energy and fun to each activity she was facilitating!!
I really enjoyed this my stay. It was truly an enjoyable experience. I went for my wife birthday we were able to get away and finally get some sun and relax. It was just us as a couple so we were able to just get away relax and enjoy each other as a couple. The hotel is well kept and very clean. The food was excellent. The beach was well maintained and cleaned. We didn’t partake in the amenities because we just wanted to relax.

Los restaurantes no tienen climatización, la energía electrica se va constantemente, personal insuficiente
Our stay at this property was a disappointment on nearly every level. The biggest issue was that there is essentially no usable beach and no direct ocean access. Unless you pay extra for the Preferred Club, there is only one main pool. Unfortunately, it was exceptionally dirty during our stay—there was hair in the water, an oily film on the surface, and even trash floating around. Because the pool is so shallow, the water was very warm and not refreshing. There was also very little space to lounge in the sun, and the resort allows floats and pool toys, so it was difficult to relax without constantly being splashed or hit by balls. I understand this is a family-friendly resort, but it would have been nice to have a designated quiet area for adults. While you can find unobstructed sun on the beach, the shoreline was covered in sargassum, and the sand itself was very rocky, making it far from the relaxing beach experience we expected. The food was decent, but the service was excellent. Every staff member we interacted with worked incredibly hard and was genuinely kind and helpful. However, the resort appeared to be understaffed, which resulted in long wait times throughout our stay. This is clearly a management issue and not a reflection of the employees, who did the best they could. Another inconvenience is that the restaurants do not accept reservations. During dinner hours, you're required to wait for a table, so be prepared to plan your evenings around potentially long waits. If you do not plan accordingly, you will also miss eating/drinking at certain restaurants or bars, as they are only open per the provided schedule. We missed 3 of the 5 restaurants due to the combination of schedule, illness, and choosing dining over scheduled activities because of overlap. Again, reservations would greatly help this issue. The most disappointing part of our trip was that we both suffered food poisoning while on the property. Our stay was only three days, and we spent two of those days confined to our room, violently ill. We reported what happened, but no one seemed interested in addressing the situation or investigating the possible cause. If you are not staying in the Preferred Club, be aware that your beverage options are very limited. Most liquor available is off-brand, and the only beer offered is warm draft beer. Canned beer and premium or name-brand spirits are reserved for Preferred Club guests. On a positive note, our room was very clean, housekeeping was excellent, and everything was exactly as expected in that regard. Room service was fast, but they provided substitutions for our order, and just sent them versus contacting us, and it was too late to rectify, as they were closed once the food arrived. The highlight of our trip was unquestionably the spa. Brenda and Lucia gave my husband and me incredible tension-relief massages. We were celebrating our wedding anniversary, and they made the experience extra special by surprising us with chocolate-covered strawberries and champagne in a private room after our treatments. The spa facilities were outstanding, with beautiful shower rooms, robes, high-quality bath products, and every amenity needed to relax and refresh afterward. It was a truly luxurious experience and the one aspect of the resort that exceeded our expectations. I would absolutely return for the spa without hesitation. Overall, we genuinely regret booking this trip. It was an expensive vacation that fell far short of the quality and experience we expected, making it feel like a complete waste. We chose this resort based on our wonderful honeymoon experience several years ago, but this visit was nothing like that. Unfortunately, we left feeling disappointed and wishing we had spent our time and money elsewhere. We will not be returning to this property or booking future vacations with Dreams properties.
We just got back yesterday. A very mediocre hotel. The preferred level isn’t worth it. The perks were not there: no top shelf liquor (same as other bars at resort), no checking to ensure only preferred used the preferred pool which caused it to be overcrowded (sounds entitled but why include it as a benefit if not enforced), the very small adults only part of the preferred pool was just not enforced, no chair side service in beach side preferred area (there was chair side service in the non-preferred part of the beach), and the preferred lounge food was blah. The food throughout the resort was fine, except at Gohan which was horrible; breakfast was the meal of the day. Our main issue came on our last night. We had booked and paid a premium for a romantic dinner on the beach. It was supposed to be on Monday at 7p, but they called because of some rain and said the dinner would need to be moved inside or rescheduled. We chose to reschedule for the next day, our last day at the resort. On Monday, we instead went to the Italian restaurant for dinner. We were seated on the covered patio and had a clear view of the area where our dinner would have been that night. And, we saw a dinner had been set up and a couple arrived at 7:45p for that dinner. The storm had also completely cleared up a couple hours before and we hadn’t been contacted to see if we still wanted our dinner that night. We realized the change wasn’t actually because of the weather it was because they’d doubled booked. Fine, no big deal, we had the dinner the next day. The dinner was supposed to come with a bottle of red wine (a cab or merlot). We arrived and there was a bottle of white. They said that’s what we selected but no one had ever asked us, the menu had just stated a cab or merlot. It was a steak dinner, and we preferred a red. I told the server and he brought out a wine menu and pointed to the red wine and said to choose one. I confirmed so many times that we could choose any of these and it was included. I reconfirmed right before he opened the bottle. I initially chose one of the lowest cost reds (because I was still confused about the situation) but they were out of it so the server brought two more expensive options and I chose one of those, and confirmed again it was included. At the end of dinner, we were presented with a receipt for payment for the wine. We were confused again. The server got a manager and then the manager got the concierge who booked the dinner. She first tried to claim that we’d chosen the white wine - I told her she never asked us about the wine. She then insisted the dinner came with a white wine - I showed her the online menu that said otherwise. She then said we didn’t choose one of those - I explained how we got to the wine we ultimately had. She then claimed that any changes to the included wine had to be approved by her first - I asked how we were supposed to know that as she never discussed the wine in the first place. I then tried to insist that we shouldn’t have to pay for their mistake and I would have chosen differently had she been up front. She still insisted we had to pay. So I brought being lied to about rescheduling the dinner and said that’s probably how some of this confusion happened. She the tried to gaslight me about the rescheduling. Eventually, my husband, who I adore but really dislikes confrontation, just agreed to pay. It wasn’t even about the money. I was frustrated that they messed up and then had us pay for their mistake. It also caused us to end our trip on a very sour note and colored our whole experience. We stayed at dreams because of an amazing experience we had in Costa Rica in 2019. We were so confused by the difference in experience, that after some brief research, we realized that Hyatt bought dreams in 2021/2022 and that many people had noticed a decline in the brand since then. The dreams we stayed at doesn’t even exist anymore and is now a JW Marriott. If this is Hyatt’s version of luxury, we’ll pass. No more dreams or Hyatt for us.
It was okay. Resort rooms need some tlc. Staff was friendly and housekeeping was good. Almost everywhere smelled of mildew. It was like pulling teeth to get a normal / not tiny portion of any meal other than the buffet. No premium liquor for preferred as advertised. Pool chairs were hard to come by. Food quality was pretty good, just not much of it. Need more nightly activities. Stop trying to sell me things at check in and holding my room hostage until you talk for 30 min about tours I’m not interested in. Overall, kids had fun as did we, but we wouldn’t return. Too many better options. Would suggest the swim up room and renting golf carts to explore the gated resort town.
We had great time for 10 days. We had some amazing trips to Akumal, Xel-Ha and Puerto Morelos. Leonardo was amazing for the pool entertainment and Nestor was awesome in the spa, he gave a great massage!
We stayed in Mexico from 13th–25th July, and during our trip we celebrated our daughter’s 6th birthday. We had an amazing holiday and created some unforgettable memories together. We enjoyed a range of fantastic activities, including zip lining, swimming with turtles, exploring caves, and riding ATVs. Every excursion was well organised and added to what was a brilliant family holiday. When we first arrived, our room had an issue with the air conditioning. We mentioned it to the team, and they dealt with it promptly by arranging an alternative room without any fuss. It was a great first impression of the level of customer service throughout our stay. The quality of the food was noticeably better than we have experienced at previous all-inclusive resorts in Europe, and the sushi was particularly delicious. We only had two disappointing dining experiences. The first was at the seafood restaurant. Ironically, there wasn’t a great deal of seafood available. While the meat portion was generous, it arrived lukewarm and lacked any garnish or proper sides. We were given a total of six soggy fries to accompany the meal, which felt quite underwhelming. Unfortunately, our waiter also seemed quite disengaged and dismissive whenever we asked for anything, which took away from the overall experience. The second was the World Café. Much of the food felt quite bland and lacked the vibrant flavours that Mexico is famous for. We expected to see more authentic Mexican cuisine showcased. Interestingly, when we asked one of the chefs to be a little more creative with the tacos, they prepared something that was absolutely delicious. It showed that the talent is clearly there, but it felt as though the chefs were reluctant to move beyond the standard offering, which was a little disappointing. Overall, we loved the resort, the beautiful surroundings, and, above all, the staff. Everyone we encountered was friendly, attentive, and genuinely committed to providing excellent customer service. The pools were a little hit and miss and could benefit from some maintenance. However, given the stunning natural surroundings and the tropical environment, we appreciate that this is probably an ongoing challenge. One thing we found confusing was the difference between Preferred Club guests and standard guests. It often seemed as though almost everyone was a Preferred Club member, so it wasn’t always obvious what the additional benefits were. The sports bar was another highlight, particularly because it was wonderfully air- conditioned. However, it felt underused. Most of the evening entertainment took place in the main lobby, and we couldn’t really understand why the sports bar wasn’t utilised more for performances or evening events. If you wanted anything beyond standard drinks such as beers or vodka, you had to go to a separate station, which could be inconvenient. This was sometimes frustrating as the bar staff weren’t always readily available. In the evenings, it was also disappointing to be served drinks in plastic cups. I completely understand the sustainability approach during the day, but in the evening it felt a bit unnecessary for adult guests. We also felt that the number of guest service teams—including the VIP team, concierge, and main reception was slightly excessive. Depending on the question, we were often directed from one person to another, which could sometimes be confusing. Finally, the restaurant reservation system seemed inconsistent. We were told there was no reservation policy, yet guests ordering a bottle of wine appeared to be given priority for tables. For families with young children, this felt a little contradictory and could perhaps be reviewed. Despite these few areas for improvement, they were far outweighed by the positives. The outstanding service, attentiveness, beautiful location, and the genuine commitment of the staff made this a wonderful holiday. We wouldn’t hesitate to return and would happily give the resort a well deserved 5-star rating. Thank you to Karen and the team. 😘
We planned this 'special' holiday to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary and also one of our sons finishing his exams in the UK. Overall, we had a very enjoyable holiday. From the attentiveness in check in with Emilio to then the excellent size, cleanliness of our connecting rooms. We were part of the 'preferred' section, which always got you a sun bed at whatever time you got down there and of course the day time drinks selection in the pool bar were flowing, whether it be a mango tango, strawberry daquiri or beer (tip ask for a can of beer as stays colder for longer). From our 12 day stay, there were 3 events laid on (2 by Oceana pool (El Divo and 4th July) and a Fire night on the beach). A la Carte restaurants were overall nice with Oceana being our favourite and the Asian restaurant needing some improvements on the menu. A la Carte breakfast is highly recommended, especially Eggs Benedict. With the hotel being quite small and part of private estate, days got quite repetitive so would highly recommend some excursions, Isla de Mujeres and Xel-Ha were both great and you could book through Cancun Adventures in the hotel lobby but found it quite expensive so expect to pay around $150 per head per excursion. Overall a fantastic family holiday, meeting some lovely people from Mexico, US and UK.
Location of resort was as expected near the Marina and activities. The staff were very attentive and responsive to our needs. The beach was not the best and is overrun by sea weeds in this area. Room was excellent with all the amenities promised for our stay. Staff kept the room clean and the noise level at the resort was adequate. Enjoyed the food and drinks and the variety prepared at the various restaurants served. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay for a fun and relaxing week. Amado at the preferred club makes the best drinks.
We recently stayed at Dreams Aventura Riviera Maya and had a nice overall experience, but there were definitely some pros and cons. Pros: The resort was extremely clean and well-maintained. Our room was spacious, comfortable, and very clean. The drinks were excellent, with a good variety and quality. The main pool was beautiful and enjoyable for both adults and kids. The Explorer's Club was a great feature for children, and the staff did a wonderful job keeping kids entertained. Cons: The beach was disappointing. It's more of a small brown lagoon than the clear, swimmable Caribbean beach many travelers expect. The food was underwhelming. While there were several restaurants, we didn't find any of them particularly good. Service throughout the resort was friendly but consistently slow, especially during meals. There was no air conditioning in the restaurants or elevators, which made dining and getting around uncomfortable in the summer heat. Overall, I'd rate Dreams Aventura Riviera Maya 3.5 out of 5 stars. If you're looking for a clean, family-friendly resort with a nice pool and kids' club, it's a solid choice. However, if a beautiful beach and great food are priorities, you may want to consider other resorts in the Riviera Maya.
Excellent service the staff is amazing, I recommend the Spa, it was a very relaxing experience. Special thanks to Brenda
I’d like to start by saying this is simply an honest review based on our experience. I’ve been traveling to the Riviera Maya area for over 15 years and have stayed at many all-inclusive resorts throughout the area. This isn’t a review complaining about towels or thread count of bed sheets—it’s what we experienced during our stay. Honest Review of Our Stay After a little over an hour transfer from the airport, we arrived at the resort. We knew the drive time when we booked, so that wasn’t a surprise. Upon arrival, Romeo from the bell staff was fantastic. He was friendly, welcoming, and made a great first impression by helping us with our luggage and getting us settled. Check-In & Preferred Club We upgraded to the Preferred Club, so our check-in process was separate from the main lobby in the preferred lounge. Unfortunately, we felt we received less information during check-in than we have at other resorts. Instead, much of the conversation focused on encouraging us to visit other dreams properties in Tulum, which appeared to be related to a vacation club or timeshare presentation. After a full day of traveling, we simply wanted to get to our room, change clothes, and grab something to eat. Rooms Our rooms were ready when we arrived. We had two connecting Preferred Club Pool View rooms—one with a king bed and the other with two double beds. The rooms were clean and comfortable, though fairly basic. They weren’t luxurious, but that’s not what we were expecting. They served their purpose as a place to relax and sleep. Although we booked pool view rooms, our third-floor location actually provided a beautiful view of the palm trees. One of our sliding glass doors would not lock, but maintenance responded promptly and fixed the issue without any problems. We were also celebrating a birthday during our stay, and housekeeping surprised us by decorating the door with a “Happy Birthday” banner and leaving a beautiful dessert in the room. It was a thoughtful gesture that we genuinely appreciated. However, after we enjoyed part of the dessert, the remaining portion was never removed. It remained in our room for the final three days of our stay despite daily housekeeping service. While this may seem like a small detail, it reflected what we felt was a lack of attention to detail throughout the resort. Pools & Entertainment The main pool was smaller than I personally prefer, although the photos had prepared me for that. One thing I appreciated was that towels were already rolled and placed on the lounge chairs each morning, eliminating the need to search for towel attendants or make sure you have a towel card at the end of the day. One thing that stood out, however, was the cleanliness of the pools. Throughout our stay, there was a noticeable amount of plant debris—mostly what appeared to be palm leaves and other vegetation—floating in the water. I understand that tropical resorts deal with falling debris, but at other resorts we’ve visited, staff were consistently skimming and cleaning the pools throughout the day. I’m not sure if this was due to a staffing shortage, but it was something we noticed. The entertainment team was another disappointment. Compared to other resorts we’ve visited, the daytime activities were minimal. We’re accustomed to energetic staff walking around the pool, organizing games, interacting with guests, and creating a fun atmosphere. That simply wasn’t the experience here. The resort has two waterslides, but only one was operating during our stay. Fortunately, we still had fun using the one that was open. Beach The beach is not your typical Riviera Maya or Cancun beach. It is quite rocky, although there were plenty of lounge chairs available. There is a designated swimming area, but during our stay there was a significant amount of seaweed, so we were unable to enjoy the ocean, which is no fault of the resort. Food & Restaurants This was probably our biggest disappointment. While having à la carte restaurants sounds appealing, the buffet closes for dinner, making the restaurants your only evening dining option. For families traveling with young children, waiting an hour to an hour and a half for a table simply isn’t practical. What made this even more frustrating was seeing numerous empty tables while guests continued waiting to be seated, making it seem more like a staffing issue than a lack of seating. Unfortunately, none of the restaurants were memorable enough to justify the long waits. Breakfast was also fairly basic. One thing I found unusual was that there was no bacon, sausage, or ham available on the buffet. If you wanted bacon, you had to specifically request it from the omelet station. Another downside was that none of the restaurants are air-conditioned. After spending the day in the hot sun, we’ve always looked forward to cooling off while enjoying dinner at other resorts. Here, the restaurants were very warm with little airflow, and we found ourselves sweating through dinner each evening, which made the experience much less enjoyable. Bars & Preferred Club The main pool has both a swim-up and walk-up bar. Unfortunately, it often felt like the bartender focused primarily on the walk-up guests, leaving those in the swim-up section waiting for drinks. The Preferred Club swim-up bar was also disappointing. One of the reasons we upgraded was for access to premium liquor, but the selection was very limited. Several times when we requested advertised brands, we were told they were out of stock or simply didn’t have them, and were instead offered lower-shelf alternatives. Considering the additional cost of Preferred Club, I expected the amenities that were advertised to actually be available. Resort Grounds & Amenities Roberto in Guest Services deserves special recognition. She was incredibly kind, pleasant, and genuinely helpful whenever we interacted with him. The resort has a game room, but like the restaurants, it is not air-conditioned, making it uncomfortably warm. There is also an outdoor archery area. Unfortunately, when looking beyond it, there were several large piles of miscellaneous debris that gave the appearance of a garbage dump. It detracted from what otherwise could have been a nice recreational area. Near the spa, by the Dolphin Discovery area, there is a walking path with the potential to be beautiful. Unfortunately, when we explored it, we found piles of garbage and several dilapidated structures . It gave the impression that this part of the property had been neglected and significantly affected the overall curb appeal. Overall Impression Overall, we still enjoyed our vacation because we always make the best of our time away. However, this is not a resort we would choose to return to. The staff overall seemed to lack the energy and attentiveness we’ve experienced at other Mexican resorts. Whether it was due to staffing shortages or another issue, it affected multiple aspects of our stay—from dirty pools and long restaurant waits despite empty tables to slower bar service, limited entertainment, and overlooked housekeeping details. The resort certainly has potential. The rooms were clean, Romeo from the bell staff and Roberto from Guest Services provided exceptional customer service, and we appreciated the convenience of having towels readily available at the pool each morning. However, the overall experience did not live up to our expectations, especially after paying extra for the Preferred Club. If you’re looking for a quiet resort and don’t mind a rocky beach or slower-paced atmosphere, this property may meet your needs. However, if you’ve experienced other Riviera Maya all-inclusive resorts and expect lively entertainment, attentive service, premium Preferred Club amenities, and a polished overall experience, you may find yourself disappointed.
The hotel is not 5 star as advertised the beach is really poor and was not able to be used due to seaweed which means everyone trying to use one swimming pool which was extremely busy. Not a lot of variety or good quality food.l breakfast was the best option of the day
Food was terrible especially at the buffet. We have been to many Dreams and Secrets resorts and always enjoyed the food but unfortunately this resort was terrible when it came to food. The drinks were bad as well. It was disappointing to find that the bar at the preferred club would hide the top shelf liquor where you could not see it and only put out bottom shelf liquor. We saw into the stockroom at one point and saw a bottle of don julio by chance and were excited to get to have something better than Jose Cuervo but were disappointed that it seemed like top shelf liquor was hidden on purpose. The service is good and the hotel appearance was not bad. We were disappointed also when we found a bag of Doritos being sold for 18$ American dollars. That is just ridiculous.
Everything was nice and expected. The all-inclusive dining options, and pool/beach was good. but drinks were not that up to expectation
William was amazing and made sure I was well taken care of, I had an amazing time! Thank you William!
Everything about our experience was excellent. The only unfortunate thing which is outside of the hotel's control was the excess seaweed that came into there tiny lagoon water and shore. The staff was constantly trying to clear it out so again not their fault but it did kill their little beachside vibe. The swim out rooms are a must!
The hotel is old and definitely showing it's wear and tear. The rooms smell like mold and so does the lounge. It's ashame that the staff are really nice, but the health risk is not worth the stay.
Just returned from a 7night stay at Dreams. This is the second visit we have had at Dreams. I will start with the positives. The rooms are top notch. Floor to ceiling panorama views are spectacular. The beds are comfortable, the rooms are well appointed. Choice of pillows and great room service and housekeeping. The staff is second to best. They are amazing, attentive and just make the stay overall wonderful. The coffee shop is a real delight. Great drinks and snacks throughout the day make it a quick and easy break for a drink or snack. The spa is very nice and overall the resort has all the amenities you could want in an all inclusive resort. I also liked that they have a staff dediated to cracking down on people that hold or save chairs all day. He takes photos and after 45min he will move the chair hoarders so that people who actually want to be in the pool have a place. The negatives: The pools.. We upgraded to have access to the preferred pool but it was very crowded everyday and it's small so it was hard to find chairs and enjoy the pool becuase it was overcrowded. The larger pool is well laid out but out of the six days we were here the pool was shut down for two days due to people letting their kids swim without diapers and pooping in the pool. It is a real bummer to have a pool shut down for 5plus hours two of the days we were there. Everyone then crammed into the Preferred pool which is frustrating because you pay extra for an ammenity that others just sneak in or bypass. They don't have writsbands here so people can access these preferred areas pretty much unchecked. The lagoon was brown all week and nobody was using it for swimming. I understand nature is unpredictable but the neigboring resorts both had lagoons that were clear and full of guest enjoying the ocean. With our lagoon unswimable it left little options when the large pool was shut down. There are two water features at this resort. A slide and a drop slide. The drop slide was closed indefinitely. I would think they could put more urgency to fixing these slides and working on the lagoon, and large pool. It would be nice if they had another pool or cleaned up the lagoon. Overall, this is a great resort. It's small and compact but has all you need.
Had a geeat experience. Very attentive. Ask for William!
Just returned yesteray. Spent several hours looking at reviews prior to booking so I put value in good honest reviews so... First, the resort is small. Thats neither good nor bad just be aware. Getting there is a little sketchy as there is ongoing costruction on the main road entering but shuttles manage fine. First, lets start with the positives. The staff at the preferred level was absolutely first class. Very helpful, cheerful and willing to assist. Shout out to Emilio, Gustavo and Romeo up front especially. All three were great so if you go, find them. They will make your visit special. The preferred lounge is very nice too. Staff alwys cheerful and its a nice place to cool off and have a drink, Second, the spa is world class. Take advantage of the hydrotherepy and the 50 min relaxation massage was incredible. Highly recommend the experience. Third, Portofino and the Mexican restaurant were both really good. Unfortunately the other restaurant didnt open so we had limited choices but we enjoyed these. Challanges: Hotel AC has a tough time keeping up with the summer temps. Plan on having your rooms stay above 21 deg C. Avoid falling into the timeshare trap. The offer to show you the other 5 star property down the street with a free breakfast and two massages is time share. If you can say "no" its not a terrible way to spend 5 hours but dont believe the 90 min presentation time frame. Lobby area is busy. Its really the only place people hang out in the evenings. No bad, just different. Preferred pool service is slow. Understaffed. The 2 ladies at the pool do thier best but they need help. We expected more for the preferred level. Overall, based on years of travel in Riviera Maya I would say its a strong 3 star resort. Resort is dated and you can see that they have been trying to get it up to accceptable standards however the staff makes the difference. Only reason we would consider returning is because of the staff. Now its your choice.
William was great! I wish the hydrotherapy was warmer, but overall very relaxing
I rarely leave negative reviews, but I feel obligated to warn others about my experience at Dreams Aventuras Riviera Maya. We paid approximately $4,200 for what was advertised as a relaxing luxury resort, but it turned out to be one of the most disappointing vacations we've had. When we arrived, our room was unacceptable. There were what appeared to be fecal stains on the bed sheets, and we found bugs on the pillows. This immediately raised serious concerns about the cleanliness of the room. The food throughout the resort was also extremely disappointing. Much of it tasted stale, lacked freshness, and was nowhere near the quality you would expect from a resort in this price range. Customer service only made matters worse. The staff was generally unhelpful when we raised our concerns, and management showed little interest in resolving the issues. To make things even worse, there was active construction taking place throughout the resort. The constant noise completely ruined the peaceful atmosphere we expected based on the resort's advertising and promotional photos. Had we known construction was ongoing, we would never have booked this property. The experience became so bad that we made the difficult decision to check out early and book another resort at our own expense just to salvage the remainder of our vacation. Despite leaving because the resort was not as represented and because of the multiple issues we encountered, management still charged us a two-night penalty. For a resort at this price point, I expected clean accommodations, quality food, transparency about major construction, and management willing to make things right. Unfortunately, we received none of those. Based on our experience, I cannot recommend Dreams Aventuras Riviera Maya and would strongly encourage anyone considering staying here to do thorough research before booking.
William was amazing. Very attentive, clear communication, experience was extremely relaxing.
Fernando (front desk), Emilio (concierge), and Ricardo ( pool concierge) were the absolute most outstanding employees during our stay in July. We were meet by Fernando upon arrival, and check in was extremely fast. Emilio came to tell us our room was ready, escorting us to the room, arranging for our luggage to be delivered. Our room was amazing, 7th floor, stunning views from the balcony, and exceptionally clean. Emilio checked on us, along with Fernando, thru out our stay, helping answer any questions we had, and making excellent recommendations for dinners. Ricardo, (pool concierge) was Amazing! He had our Bali bed ready every day, complete with extra pillows ( I have a bad back), and our ice bucket ready with waters. He checked on us numerous times per day to see if all our needs were met, and if there was anything they could do. We only stayed by the preferred pool, but with service like this, why would you go anywhere else! These 3 stood out in making our vacation a very memorable trip, and while mother nature threw seaweed at the beaches, the resort did a very good job at keeping the lagoon section clear for people still swimming in the ocean, and many people were sitting on the beach. I would highly recommend this resort as a lovely place to come relax, walk into town, shopping, and just a over all super place to stay. We will be back!
We just got back from an amazing stay, and overall I would absolutely recommend this resort. The food was surprisingly good, with plenty of variety, and we never had a bad meal. The activities team kept everyone entertained throughout the day, and there was always something fun going on. A huge shout out to Romeo, one of the bellmen. He was hands down one of the best employees we’ve ever encountered at any resort. He went above and beyond every single time we saw him, always with a smile and genuinely wanting to help. Employees like him make a vacation memorable. The beach wasn’t the best during our stay because of the sargassum seaweed, but that’s simply the time of year and completely out of the resort’s control. We knew that going in, so it didn’t take away from our trip. The only real disappointment was the pool. Unfortunately, it needed to be cleaned and filtered much more often. Every time we looked at getting in, there were leaves, dirt, hair, and other debris floating around. We only ended up swimming once because of it. That’s really the only area I think could use significant improvement. The drinks were on the weaker side, but honestly that’s pretty typical for most all-inclusive resorts, so it wasn’t unexpected. What really sets this place apart isn’t just the resort itself—it’s the entire gated community. It feels like its own little paradise. There are bars, restaurants, shops, dolphins, golf cart rentals, and so many places to explore. We loved cruising around the community, and everyone we met was incredibly friendly. It genuinely felt like everyone was looking out for one another, creating such a safe, welcoming atmosphere. We came here expecting a nice resort and left feeling like we’d discovered a hidden little island community. We’d absolutely come back and would love to spend even more time exploring everything the area has to offer.
Julieta from the spa did an amazing job with my hair for my daughter’s wedding. She made a recommendation and I trusted her. It was so windy that day but my hair stayed perfect all night long. Thank you to the spa team. It was a wonderful day in the bridal suite!!!
Very good place to go with the family, restaurants are in open space with needs more care for people that likes to be under AC.spa was incredible Julieta is an expert and the service was absolutely amazing
Definitely come here if you have your kids it was beautiful here the staff and customer service was on point . The whole resort is incredible. A must stay clean and lovely . Drinks could be stronger but overall it was a beautiful trip regardless. Do the extreme zipline the cave and snorkeling experience ask for Edwin 10 out of 10 highly recommend Definitely worth it . U will get your money worth
Very disappointing! I stayed for 10 days and throughout that period there was no access to the sea. The sea area was covered in seaweed so you could not swim. Also the smell was awful. Apparently this is a regular occurrence from April/May until Sept/Oct, this should be highlighted on their site. The only swimming option was one pool unless I chose to pay an extra 130 US dollars per night to use a second nicer pool. Despite the hotel being quiet and making a request, this option was not offered in lieu of no sea swimming. The food was very average and a far cry from “ gourmet “ as described on the website. The hotel was tired, but perfectly adequate with large rooms. The gym was the best feature! The staff were lovely and very friendly and eventually waived a 25 US dollars per hour late check out fee after I pointed out I had been there for 10 days without access to the sea, but that was my only compensation. Pool activity staff were great and very entertaining. I certainly would not stay there again and would not recommend the area at that time of year if you want to swim in the sea.
Even better than expected. I booked a room with a swim-up pool for an annual trip with my friends. I didn't realize the room I booked was a Preferred Guest room which meant we had access to additional areas of the resort including a Preferred Guest Lounge, Preferred Guest seating areas at restaurants, and a Preferred Guest pool which offered higher-end liquor than the other pool/bars. The staff was fantastic and knew us all by name. The resort was clean and the gym had a surprising variety of equipment. And we used our personal swim-up pool every day. The food was kind of what you'd expect from an all-inclusive resort. Most of it was forgettable, though my salmon dinner at Oceana was fantastic. The drinks were hit-or-miss, though the drinks we ordered at the Preferred Guest pool were consistently tasty.
Review Summary: We booked this resort expecting a premium family getaway but experienced a frustrating, subpar, and hazardous stay. While the hardworking and wonderful staff were the sole saving grace of the trip, their excellent service could not overcome the resort's massive systemic failures. Major Safety Hazard: A severe lack of property maintenance resulted in water actively leaking from a ceiling with no warning signs, causing me to slip and fall while carrying my infant son. Awful Food & Closures: Dining was a massive disappointment every night. Food quality was incredibly low, and advertised restaurants were frequently closed or unavailable, completely contradicting what was promised. Unusable Beach: The beach was in awful condition with an overpowering, unpleasant smell that made it impossible to lounge near or enjoy the ocean. Between the terrible food and restaurant closures, and a terrifying safety incident with my baby, I cannot recommend this resort to families.
The experience was so good. Going out in town to shop was expensive it costed too much. We wish that they had a shuttle instead of a taxi. Our room was top-notch. The service was quick. Anything we needed was done immediately. The various employees were so responsive. The desserts we tasty and available all the time. This place was clean and the only thing that was a problem was the smell of the coral reef on Monday - it was bad. The staff did everything to help.
This is a follow up from my 1 star review at the end of may. Long story short, we were here for my brothers wedding(about 15 of us). You can read my details in previous post, but 3 weeks later I am still dealing with stomach issues. 3 of us ended up with an E. coli parasite. Honestly, was not surprised after seeing how unsanitary things were from the pool water, food prep, bathrooms and bedrooms. I normally don’t write reviews, but people need to be made aware. I am an Airbnb host of 5 properties and it blew my mind. They will apologize and send their typical response, but it’s unacceptable. The amount of money this place cost is laughable in comparison to the accommodations. We are actually low maintenance people and very understanding, but this was an unbelievable grift. Please do your research.
Visit was ok...expected more entertainment and wasnt able to use the beach because of the sarragasm...was told to lower music in preferred pool and unable to do activities in the pool...throwing football etc
My family and I recently spent four nights staying at Dreams Aventuras and had a wonderful time! This was our first time traveling to Mexico and staying in an all inclusive resort. With our three kids ages 15, 14, & 12 the all inclusive nature was a big plus for our family. We especially enjoyed the sushi at Gohan, we went back there multiple times! Although the beach was going through sea weed season, we still had a great time. The resort offered many creative activities throughout the day which we found very enjoyable. Our last night was the Osada dinner on the beach with a fire spinning show. It was a perfect night! What really earned the five start rating from us was the staff at this resort. Our family frequently visits Walt Disney World and Disneyland and I would definitely compare the Dreams Aventuras staff to the hospitality you would receive at Disney Deluxe Resorts. At Dreams Aventuras they go above and beyond to help you and are very kind. Fabi was fabulous who checked us in upon arrival. Roberto at the preferred pool was always helpful in finding the perfect spot for us with just enough shade! Itzyanna gave us a tour of the marina and was a pleasure to talk to. Our youngest son became friends with Zabdiel who gave us spanish lessons on the beach, took us on his "extreme bike tour", & even made our kids an origami keep sake. Leonardo was very silly and always made it a fun time while at the pool. We definitely became amigos with the staff and it made for a special vacation. I would highly recommend this resort to my family and friends. If you are looking for a family friendly, all inclusive resort, this is one to consider! Thank you for the memories!
Great location on a quiet marina. Very much a family-friendly resort. The rooms are big, clean and quiet. The staff is what makes this resort. Everyone says hello and is helpful. We especially appreciated Roberto in the Preferred Club pool, always making the perfect spot. Alma (and all the bartenders) for being kind to my kids ordering frozen drinks all afternoon. Fabi in the VIP services was fun and warm. Zabdiel and Itzayana in the Entertainment team were the all Stars. My family loved all the different activities offered. Some were in the pool, some were out exploring the marina, some were games. There was a blackjack night and just a fun blend of different ways to have a good time! We already miss it.
Location is great. Just wish the beach was usable as it was so much seaweed. Hotel is beautiful. Service is great. Just needs better nightly entertainment.
Lovely stay Great staff - very friendly and helpful. Entertainment staff in particular were great with the children. Good food at the restaurants (Oceania - sea food and El Patio - Mexican were particularly good) - excellent facilities. Really nice rooms with amenities. Would recommend
This is a somewhat generous rating of 4 because I think this resort is good for some families, probably with younger kids who would enjoy the swimming pools. Our family has much older teens and young adults and for our group the resort is just too small with limited activity for that age group. Our visit timing was terrible with respect to the seaweed. In spite of laborious efforts to keep it cleaned up, the beach was not useable and the smell unpleasant. This is certainly not the fault of the resort but is an issue to consider nonetheless. The rooms are very nice and spacious. We booked preferred club rooms and appreciated access to the preferred club lounge drinks and food (not a large area but better than adequate) and access to the preferred club pool. Big thanks to Roberto and Erick at the preferred club pool and Amado and Jazi at the preferred club lounge for great service. Food here was just ok with highlights being the tacos and quesadillas and Portofino and lowlight being the pizza. Just our opinion. Restaurant service tended to be very good. We will not likely return simply because we prefer slightly larger resorts with a bit more variety. We know other people who will absolutely return so it is a matter of preference for resort size and variety of activities and food options.
Went with family. First off, staff are brilliant, can’t do enough for you. The likes of Lorenzo and Itzacaya in entertainment are great with kids. Restaurants good - food is nice, tasty with plenty of vegetables and fruit. Rooms excellent - comfortable bed, very clean and lots of space. Would recommend.
Just returned from our honeymoon. The hotel was simply beautiful. Staff couldn’t do enough for you. They were amazing. The hotel was clean and staff were invested in ensuring everyone was looked after. They were clearly assigned their jobs and knew exactly what was expected of them. If you were a cleaner, you cleaned and you did it to the max. We had a swim up room and the pool guy was excellent in keeping it clean for us. Chatting as he went giving us tips on where to go and what to eat and drink. A couple of things not so good which is why I’ve not given a 5/5…… restaurants tended to alternate in being closed, not sure if this was due to the hotel not being at full capacity or if it’s the norm. It meant some nights there was limited choice where to eat and it would have been better if they had closed just one per night and not more than this. That said the food standard was excellent in all of them with the sushi and the Italian being our favourite. Entertainment in the evening wasn’t great either. The Divas were fab as was the light show that replaced the fire show and the circus show and the karoake however they weren’t long enough and by 9pm you were kicking around the hotel with nothing really to do. We took a few walks to the marina close by which had bars and souvenir shops and dolphins (!) but after doing this twice it was a bit boring and you needed an hour taxi drive to get to the main cities. If you’ve got kids or happy to be sat in a bar every night then this is ideal place but if you want to party or see lots of different things then not so good. We were happy but did get a bit of cabin fever by the end. Though there are trips out available and we did do this but only once. We went to coco bongo which was amazing. The only other thing is the seaweed. It’s a natural thing and can’t be helped and people worked tirelessly 24/7 to keep the impact minimal but it meant the sea wasn’t accessible. It wasn’t a huge problem for us but would've been lovely to have had those clear sea white sand experiences you see and if you want that you need to avoid certain months. The smell was also unpleasant at times. All that said though the hotel staff, facilities, food, cleanliness and rooms far outweighed the not so good bit and I would recommend this place if you wanted a slightly quieter holiday with excellent facilities and food. Room service was excellent, the food quality was amazing and it was all part of the package, so no additional charge!! I would fully recommend a swim up room if you can get it. Having that, particularly with the seaweed limiting the sea access made it for us. We would return but maybe a different time of year and go armed with plans for more trips out.
William was absolutely amazing this experience I would recommended 1000 times to anyone!!
Dreams spa was great with the preferred package and having a hydrotherapy with William. They were attentive and caring and it was great way to end the trip relaxed
People were very friendly and the beach and pool were great. There was no hot water in my room and food was just ok. The room was very clean as were the restaurants.
Lucia was amazing 👏 🤩 😍. She was very professional, lovely lady. I would definitely request her. My husband and I were very pleased with our service.
It was a great experience at Dreams resort spa.
Fabulous vacation. The staff are amazing and very attentive! Ron’s were awesome. Seaweed was bad but they were working on cleaning it out. Very rocky shore but the starch off beach they have in the cove was nice but still had a ton of seaweed. Plenty of alternatives but June is not the time to go if you are looking for the crystal blue water. Preferred club and swim out pool were worth the extra money for adults. Food was inconsistent and lacked variety but tasty. Lot of great excursions. Safe location. Get a golf cart to get around the town.
Friendly and helpful staff. Food was good.
Facilities are awful, the hotel is very old. First room we got was really bad and uncomfortable, the AC made an awful noise. The shower did not work. Some drawers could not even be opened. Second room was better but still not great. The bathroom door made a squeaky noise every time we opened it. We reported this and the facilities staff tried to fix it but they couldn't. The beach from the hotel can't even be called a beach. It is more of a dirty pond, and because of the seaweed (which has nothing to do with the hotel) it smelled really bad. This hotel is not worth the price because even though it is a little cheaper than other hotels from the same hotel chain, also located in the Riviera Maya, it is by far the worst one, and the price difference is not that much. This was a very disappointing experience, I even decided to leave one night early.
William and the staff at the spa provided a wonderful experience!
Every single staff member was friendly and helpful. Julian and Nadia (I can't remember her name but she was the hostess at Oceana) were very attentive. The service at the pool outside Oceana was also excellent. We didn't have a single difficult experience with the staff. The rooms are spacious and the beds comfortable.
The only feedback I would give is the shower head didn't work so we could only shower with the wand, which was okay but a little clumsy.
Reserved the spa hydrotherapy and it was a great experience. My therapist William was great!! Excellent customer service and a complete experience. Definitely recommend to anyone that come to visit this location. The steam room could be a bit hotter, but everything else was fantastic!!!
We had an amazing stay at Dreams Riviera Maya! The hotel is beautiful, the service was outstanding, and the staff truly made us feel welcomed and cared for throughout our vacation. The food, atmosphere, and overall experience exceeded our expectations. A special thank you to Abigail from the entertainment team, she was absolutely amazing and made every activity so much fun! Huge thanks as well to Marco at the Mixology Bar for his incredible drinks and great personality, and to Jadial for always providing excellent service and keeping the good vibes going. One area the hotel could improve on is the cleanliness and maintenance of the rooms (room 264) . Our shower flooded every time we used it, and there was noticeable mold in the room that should definitely be treated and addressed. With better room maintenance and attention to cleanliness, the experience would be even more perfect. Overall, we still had a wonderful time and truly appreciated the amazing hospitality from the staff. We would definitely come back!
It was a great experience, I had William as my spa person and he did a great job
It was great, William was the best would definitely recommend, he was on top of it and super friendly
Amazing positive and friendly
Dreams resort was alright. Nothing to write home about. The bed left my husband barely able to walk. I did ok. The food was ok. Again, nothing too exciting. We would pick another resort if we came back. Their drinks were ok. Their custard, not so much.
Just returned yesterday for 7 day vacation. It was just ok not fabulous. We have stayed in dreams resort probably 5 times and this is not the dreams we are accustomed to . I’m not one to complain but it’s lacking so thought I would post . Rooms are dated , but kept clean . I was getting multiple bits for the first 3 nights and asked to have the bedding changed . No more bits 🤩. The bars only serve cheap alcohol. One day on for Cinco De Mayo they brought out Don Julio for a celebration. I don’t even drink but family members were disappointed in alcohol choices. One day I went to the buffet lunch late so very few people were even in the restaurant. I left my Rayban sunglasses on the table and left the restaurant forget them . 5 minutes later I ran back to see if they were still on the table . No one was sitting at the table and table was cleaned and remade . No glasses were found and they informed me to check with lost and found . I know this is totally my fault but nothing was ever turned in 😢. I personally will not return to this resort and not sure if I will return to dreams . Other guests stated resort has definitely changed in the hands of Hyatt. I’m not sure if that’s the case or just a individual resort experience. Forgot to mention overall staff was amazing 🤩
The staff were very welcoming and polite and friendly! Check in was smooth. Cleanliness was perfect. Room felt cozy and comfortable. Travel from Airport was great. The complementary Hydrotherapy was a good idea. The food and drink, not so great. Feels like the cocktail drinks weren’t good quality, at time felt like watered down. Overall feel was excellent. Just because of the food quality and cocktails, I’ll be cautious. Noise level around the spa area on some days could be annoying, generally coming from loud music.
My trip was awesome my bartender was super nice showed me drinks I didn’t even know about 😇🍓🍻🥂 jediael
What a wonderful experience we had at Dreams Aventuras, Riviera Maya. The staff are amazing, very friendly. The food was awesome and the room was spacious and clean. The grounds are well kept. Everything was very professional, enjoyed my time just like I would at home.
Everyone was so nice and friendly. Julieta was amazing with my wedding hair, makeup, and massage. Pedro served us to well. We really appreciate everyone! Marianna made our wedding go so smoothly. Karen the photographer was awesome. We had such a great time!
Well maintained hotel in a smaller setting . No beach Service was excellent. Lots of activities during the daytime.Travel time from airport to resort was over 1 hour! Nothing is close by the resort.
Back from a wonderful 7 day vacation at this amazing resort. 1st off its a small resort, not a lot of people, you get to know the guests if you choose to. You talk, you coo at the babies, smile at the littles and say hello when you see each other. That is a bonus in my opinion. The food is what you make it, if you want bacon ask for it, if you want chicken or pork for breakfast you can have that too! Lunch was great no matter where we ate, at the beach cafe, or the buffet. Supper was superb in all the restaurants we ate at. Oceana has some of the best salmon I have ever had. The meatballs at the Italian restaurant slice like a soft piece of bread, the way they should. The tomato pasta was lacking the same flavours we might use in Canada or the US but we are in Mexico, if the restaurant isn’t to your liking go to another one! If you want bacon everyday, buy preferred, its in the small lounge every day. Room service is amazing , pizza, club sandwich and the breakfast 😊. The swings by the beach are heavenly and the coffee in the coffee bar, you can get however you want, cold or hot. If they have lemon tarts, get them! The rooms are ok, beds are comfy pillows are great and the air conditioning worked. If noise from others might bother you, ask for a fan for some white noise, problem solved. The beach is manmade (I think), there are rocks placed so that the sargassum doesn’t come in but little fishes do. Its wonderful to see kids playing in the sand, using the paddle boards and kayaks. The staff at this resort are some of the best I have come across in my travels. They get the kids involved, even my mostly introverted 15 year old. There was so much to do we didn’t do any excursions, we enjoyed the resort, the people and the staff! If you have any questions and want to pm me, I will answer if I can. My advice, just go, be adventurous, try the different foods, the Mexican coffee and speak to your neighbour sitting beside you! 🌴🌺🐠🦜
Roberto and Ronnier were both amazing and tentative!
Exellent resort for couples with kids! Staff was very helpful and the beach was amazing! Would not pick this resort for a bachelor or bachelorett as it is taylored for families with young children, and it was perfect for what we wanted!
Lucia, Guadalupe and William made our spa experience one of a kind! All of the staff went above and beyond to make everything perfect.
The overall experience was disappointing. The food quality was consistently below expectations, and service often felt conditional—staff seemed noticeably less attentive unless tips were given. The hotel itself felt closer to a three-star standard rather than what was advertised. The Preferred Club, in particular, did not add value; service there was even less welcoming, and the food quality was equally underwhelming throughout. Additionally, we were pulled into what turned out to be a timeshare presentation that took up nearly half of our day. We specifically asked beforehand whether it was a timeshare and were told it was not, which made the experience even more frustrating. It also felt difficult to leave once it had started.
Horrible service, housekeeping entered the rooms without knocking, we did not have a hair dryer, they rarely left towels after cleaning the room, and it was hard to get a drink at any bar.
This resort was such a hit for our family of four (two kids ages 16 and 12). The small size allowed our kids, and us, to make connections with other travellers during our stay, and they walked around the property with ease. Our oldest is Autistic and the entertainment team went above and beyond to make him feel included. He has the time of his life at this resort! We loved Perla, Edwin and Abigail so much. They helped us make lifelong memories. Housekeeping was also remarkable. We would request early room cleans so our son could have quiet time in the room at lunch and they were so responsive each day. I am marathon training so I loved how safe and comfortable I felt running around the Puerta Aventuras community outside the resort. Beautiful views alone the marina. Entertainment outside ended at a decent hour which was great for sleep. The staff at coco cafe were wonderful. Have the Mayan and the chocolate cake! Also the cake pops! Anita makes the best cappuccino! Food was probably an 8/10, with the buffet having the most opportunity for improvement, but we always found enough food to eat! We just left and all of us said it was the best vacation. Would absolutely return.
Ezequiel was our favourite drinks/server while we stayed here. All the staff was friendly, but he made our meals that much easier. Hands down, the best!
We had a wonderful 10 days at Dreams. The staff is exceptional- friendly, professional and very helpful. We were in the preferred section and it was well worth it. Emilio, the preferred concierge was fabulous. Francisco at the pool was helpful in finding spots in the shade. All the restaurants’ staffs were wonderful. We enjoyed the food. And if you ask, they will bring you special requests. If you want a big beach, this is not the place for you. But, there is a bar overlooking the open ocean, for gorgeous ocean views and the sound of the waves.
Fantastic hotel, friendly staff, took my wife for her birthday as a surprise and was everything we could hope for. Our room and swim up pool were regularly cleaned, I recommend being part of the preferred club. Seaweed could be an issue but the staff do clean this daily.
I had a wonderful stay at this hotel! The overall experience was great, and I truly enjoyed my time here. The beach activities were so much fun—especially the aqua aerobics, which added such a lively and energetic vibe to the day. I also absolutely loved the flavored shaved ice by the beach… such a refreshing treat! My kids had an amazing time, especially at the kids club. They completely adored Silvia—she was always so cheerful, kind, and fun with them. They couldn’t stop talking about her! It really made a difference knowing they were so happy and well taken care of. The service was excellent as well. Karen, our waitress, was always very attentive and made sure we had everything we needed. The concierge team was also consistently friendly and helpful, which we really appreciated. If I had to mention one thing, I would say that I wish there had been more variety in the buffet food. Aside from that, everything was fantastic, and we would definitely consider coming back!
Marco, Manali, amd Jose were all great!
I traveled with my family to Dreams Aventuras March 9-16, 2026. Overall we had a wonderful family vacation. We all stayed in a combination of Preferred Club Rooms, swim up, Marina View and Family Ocean Front Suites. The resort is very clean, the staff is kind and very professional, the rooms are very clean, the food is delicious and if you went hungry that would no fault of the resort as there are many options throughout the day where you can eat. Evening entertainment was good and there are many planned activities for kids and adults throughout the day to participate in. Lovely new swing bar with the location being very tranquil with beautiful views of the ocean. Preferred Club Lounge is now on the first floor so much more convenient. Great location to walk (10 minutes) to town for shopping and the Dolphinarium. My family had a wonderful vacation and because the resort is small it is great for families with younger kids and also for seniors or those with mobility issues. My only compliant would be how difficult it is to get reservations for dinner for our family of 12 to eat together. This was a aggravation I did not anticipate. I think if you are a family traveling together to maybe try to contact the hotel in advance to see what options they car offer for dinner with a larger family traveling together. P.S. We rented golf carts off property which was just a short walk from the resort. The cost was $40.00 US for 2 hours which was more then enough time to take a drive through the gated community. My husband and son also did a fishing charter from the same tour company and had a great time and they were successful at catching fish! The cost was $220.00 US per person with a total of 4 people on the charter.
Food was good. Unable to get chairs at pool and beach. Two tier guest services. If you are not preferred guest service lacked.
small resort - only 2 small pools - not enough pool chairs for all of the guests restaurants had limited seating - minimum of 2 hour wait to get a table rain one day - not equipped to handle more indoor activities - had to walk outside to get to any restaurant housekeeping did not refill soap, toilet paper, towels on a regular basis I would not stay here again - have traveled to various all-inclusive resorts in Mexico - this was the worst one I've been to for the amount of money spent
I would highly recommend this resort to families. The staff is excellent with children and there are lots of activities for them. The pools are shallow and so is the beach area so there is little danger for young children. As a senior, it was not my favourite resort but I have nothing bad to say about the facilities or the staff. Rooms are spacious.
10 day stay, with 15, 13 and 4 year old twins, excellent small family resort, can get from farthest point, to point in 5 minutes. Food - Excellent fruit and food. -For dinner arrive just before 6 with families to not wait for a table and have an ocean view from most restaurants. Rooms -Beds were incredibly comfortable, -rooms were clean -we never heard a sound from inside our room, so everyone slept great. -Not the most posh resort I've ever seen but we've been back 3 times since they make up for it with amazing perks like, BEACH -saxophone player on the beach one day -dinners set up on the beach, -different themed food brought to the beach each lunch hour (sushi, fish tacos, bbq), -movie night on the beach, -they had an incredible concert one night, - crafts, - dancing lessons, -lots of effort made to keep it fresh and fun. - The gym was great. -The sand wasn't awesome like it used to be, -Seaweed when windy, (3/10 days for us) employees worked endlessly to clean it up. KIDS CLUB The twins begged to go to the kids club every chance we would let them, so nice that they don't just keep the kids in a back corner the whole time, but bring them to make bracelets on the lawn by the pool, treasure hunts on the beach, a piñata on the beach, cupcake decorating, bracelet making, and of course the small waterslides with the club. Felt very safe, Big waterslides were also awesome and had you could still see the ocean. The teens loved playing basketball at the court, and all the silly games at the pool. Watch out for scented toilet paper for sensitive skin. The marina is one block away for a change in scenery if you want to check out the boats, eat at a different restaurant, or see some different fish in the clear marina water where it meets the ocean. Abigail and Perla are amazing
We had an awesome stay at Dreams Resorts & Spas, but I specifically want to focus on my Dream Spa facial experience. Guadalupe gave me the best facial and the most relaxing experience and created moments of peace and renewal. If you visit Dreams, please ask for her. You will not be disappointed. As for our stay, we went there for a friend’s wedding and they made it absolutely memorable. The food was great the surrounding of course was wonderful. The staff awesome! We will definitely return.
Absolutely amazing experience start to finish
My massage was great. The Customer service was wonderful. The people were Nice. I came to the spa for my birthday. I would recommend for others! Miss Guadalupe my massage therapist -was very professional and kind. This was a great time for all.
safe, very clean, quaint, friendly amazing staff, comfortable rooms, good value for the money, a really enjoyable week!
The service at this resort was hands down the best we've ever had! The food was great, the rooms were clean and spacious, and the beach was great for younger kids. It is a little different having the rock wall out in the ocean, but it helps to keep out seaweed and keep the water calm which is great for young kids, paddle boarding etc. They have a system set up in the ocean to stop the seaweed from coming in, and the one day it broke and the seaweed came in a lot. The staff were super at working hard and efficiently to fix it and clean up all the seaweed. The location is great, in a gated community with a marina beside it, offering lots of shopping, bars, restaurants, dolphins etc. If you enjoy walking a long stretch of beach for miles this area isn't for you but it was a nice change of scenery, walking along the marina, checking out the public beaches etc. Would definitely recommend this place for younger kids and older people who want calm waters that are fairly shallow and straight out.
The resort is overall tired. Customer service is spotty and generally fails. The beach is not a beach at all, it is a concrete slab with 3 inches of sand in front of a stagnant pond of shallow water. Sargasum often makes it's way beyond the protective nets regardless. Can't see the ocean, stone wall is too high. Lack of chairs and most are broken or very tired. You can tell they don't invest much. The pool is very noisy and crowded and it is difficult to find a quiet spot even at the beach. Some shade but not much. There was construction going on and we didn't know and they also had a group party on a rooftop in front of the rooms until 11:15pm, unacceptably loud. Their transportation from Cancun airport did the milk run and took us over 2.5 hours! Positives: coffee bar, mixology bar (Alberto was great), nice balcony views, kids will enjoy the small resort and activities). In general this is bad for any all-inclusive but for a Dreams resort, seriously lacking, not close to the reputation it has. There are better alternatives out there.
