Meliá Koh Samui

Had an absolutely great time at the Melia Koh Samui resort after a long week working in Bangkok and finally got to relax with my family who joined me from the UK for a 10 day holiday. Special mention to the lovely and very kind Baw at the beach bar and restaurant, who looked after us every day, making sure that we were attending for and giving us the extra service level that you would expect from a 5* hotel but not often get by someone so genuine and happy to help. When we return to Koh Samui, we will certainly come back to the Melia thanks to his attention and friendly yet discreet service. I work for SCG which is a large Thai manufacturing group and will for sure mention the Melia Koh Samui hotel as a great venue for our work events. Finally indulge in the full coconut spa package experience, it’s amazing! Thank you so much for a lovely time ☺️

Piscina molto bella, spiaggia organizzata di fronte l’hotel, posizione ottima per godere sia della piscina che della spiaggia. Il The Level Area molto pratico e accogliente per una colazione in più tranquillità, aria condizionata e vista! Ottima la possibilità di poter usufruire di snack bevande e aperitivo. Struttura con moltissimo spazio verde e acqua grazie alla presenza della seconda piscina con accesso diretto alla camera.

Proprio guardando al dettaglio, si potrebbero sistemare alcuni dettagli un po’ usurati della camera, considerando il livello dell’hotel.

The hotel blends luxury and comfort but maintains a family friendly and relaxed atmosphere. The pool, which winds around the grounds is great and the main pool overlooking the beach is lovely and well maintained and rarely feels crowded. Due to the beachfront location we were able to dine each evening on the beach at different restaurants and found Pi samui the perfect location for a special meal. Would highly recommend the swim up rooms and upgrading to “the level” which allows you to enjoy breakfast in a separate dining room overlooking the beach and to enjoy drinks and snacks throughout the day as part of the upgrade fee. The staff were all very pleasant and kind, especially pink in the level lounge. The grounds of the hotel are immaculately maintained and the rooms were well appointed and comfortable.

The Melia sits right on Choeng Mon beach, with loads of bars, restaurants, massage parlours and laundry places both on the beach and on the main road at the entrance of the hotel. Despite being decently full (based on breakfast numbers), the hotel does not feel full the rest of the day as it is likely most guests have gone offsite to visit places or to eat out. It is easy to get sun beds, classes are not always full. We travelled as a family of 6, including a granpa of 70 walking with a cane, a 14yo, 10 and 7yo. Check in was a breeze, we got a level pool access room and a normal deluxe initially. We enquired about an upgrade for the deluxe room and the possibility of connecting rooms (at extra cost). There were not any on check in but the next day was possible! The level access gives you access to the level lounge, which gave everyone in our group access to drinks and snacks pretty much all day, with free alcoholic drinks and nibbles in the evening from 5:30-7:30. Snacks included both savoury and sweet desserts, like fried potato balls, spring rolls, summer rolls and creme brulee, coconut jelly, pandan dessert mango gummy etc. Drinks during the day include soft drinks, juice, smoothies, coffee and tea. Matteo from Spain did a wonderful job welcoming us everyday at the level lounge. The two ladies at the kids club were lovely to the kids who only spent a morning there and they joined a muay Thai class for kids which the boys thoroughly enjoyed. My wife and daughter joined a towel folding class led by Mui and Pia, and they enjoyed the different animals that are commonly used to fold towels at different hotels in Koh Samui. I joined a yoga class led by Mui which was well attended and Mui gave clear good instructions which pushed all the guests out of their respective comfort zones in a good controlled way! Housekeeping and facilities were always around and ready to help. Our safe wasn't working properly but someone was dispatched right away and after fiddling with it for a while, came back to swap out the safe completely. The beds were done everyday and we had welcome and we will miss you messages on the bed on the first and last days, with some little goodies like fruits, fruit candy and a nice mango sticky rice dessert. The ladies at reception were always very helpful and all the staff on the resort were super polite and the wai and sawadee/khobkhun kah were a constant. Special mention to Runi from guest relations who was always around to suggest little things such as ordering a golf cart for granpa to and from different parts of the hotel to alleviate the pain of walking everywhere. Everyday there is some entertainment at 7:30pm, normally by the beach, e.g fire show, Thai dance, etc The kids enjoyed the pool right outside our room patio, which connects all the way to the main pool eventually. They also enjoyed the table tennis and the free to use kayaks. There were also paddle boards but we only used the kayaks. Overall not as crazy active like a club med or similar all inclusive in Turkey/Majorca etc but as a lot of activities were outside the resort within walking distance, (or they pick you up for tours) it's a different vibe to the typical all inclusive. Oh yeah Choeng Mon beach is great, not too small but not huge either. Beautiful sand, good sheltered cove with coral/rocks that give rise to a shallow sand bar which allows walking to the nearby tiny island at low tide.

This was my first time dining at this restaurant, and I really enjoyed it. The atmosphere was lovely and relaxing, the food was delicious, and the service was excellent. 😊 I would especially like to compliment Pony, one of the staff members. She was very friendly, attentive, and provided excellent service. ❤️ Overall, I had a wonderful experience and will definitely come back again

We had an amazing 7-night stay at Melia Koh Samui and absolutely loved it! The hotel is a beautiful resort, designed with great attention to detail, with a wonderful lagoon-style pool that surrounds the hotel. We stayed in The Level Suite, which was absolutely beautiful, very clean, comfortable, and pleasant. The hotel staff were lovely, friendly, and always happy to help with anything we needed. Breakfast was delicious, with a great variety of food and plenty of choices every morning. The beach right in front of the hotel is beautiful, peaceful, and quiet, and the main pool is also lovely and so much fun to spend time in. We really enjoyed the location of the hotel. It is in a very quiet and relaxing area, which was perfect for us, but it was still very easy to get around the island. You can use the local red shared taxis, Grab, or the hotel shuttle to reach other areas of Koh Samui. We stayed for 7 nights, and we were honestly sad when it was time to leave. We had such a wonderful stay and would highly recommend Melia Koh Samui. We will definitely come back again!

The pool and facilities were fantastic, but what really made our stay special was the incredible staff. From Lucy at the reception, to the Level staff - Matteo, Pink, Sachi, Fern, Kim, Honey, and many others — we received so much kindness, care, and attention throughout our stay. Bow at the restaurant was also incredibly thoughtful and kind. Having access to the Level pool was a truly wonderful experience and made our stay even more special. We had an unforgettable week and would love to come back again. Maybe next summer...

Fantastic first stay at the Melia, facilities were perfect, rooms are clean and spacious, staff couldn’t do enough for us. Excellent for gluten free options, very accommodating. Only downside was having to take towels to the pool rather than being able to get them at the pool, with children and the heat this because a bit tiresome. Food orders seemed to be very slow, we learned this quite early on so would then place an order in advance to get it by the time we wanted it 😅 100% recommend staying here and we will be back!

Breeze Restaurant at Meliá Koh Samui was a wonderful dining experience. The food was delicious, the atmosphere was lovely, and the service was excellent. Beautiful beach and facilities. The pool stood out as it connects throughout the resort and food was amazing as well

The service of the staff during check in was messy. We were not offered any welcome drink/directions on where to queue, etc. the concierge guy also had a stuck up attitude in the way he spoke and the way he communicated when we were trying to book a tour by constantly putting pressure on us with time. When we were there, the view of the beach from the pool was also blocked as some construction was being done for the sunbeds. A heads up about this would have been appreciated as we chose this place specifically for the view. Considering this is a 5 star hotel we expected better. Price of food can be on the high side

What a place!!! We love this hotel and part of Koh Samui so much. It’s our 2nd time here for a reason…the beach is fantastic with lots of restaurant options. As for the hotel, it is perfect for families and the staff make the experience even more special. They can’t do enough for you!!! A special thank you to Baw who has made our trip so memorable. He looked after us all week and couldn’t do enough for us!!! - literally treated us like his own family. We will be back again for sure!

The hotel arranged our airport transfer, which was efficient and hassle-free. On arrival, check-in was smooth and professional, and concierge Auto provided excellent service, helping with our luggage and escorting us to our room. We had a two-week stay, which allowed us to become familiar with the resort and experience it fully. This gave us a good understanding of both its strengths and the type of guest it is best suited to. Having travelled extensively with our own children, we recognise a well-designed family resort, and this hotel is clearly designed with families in mind. There are plenty of children's activities, family-friendly dining options, and beach entertainment. However, as a couple travelling without children, we found it less suited to those seeking a quieter, more refined holiday, particularly during school holidays. Location
: The beachfront setting is pleasant and low-key with restaurants and a supermarket within a 5–10 minute walk. Room: 
Our Premium Room was spacious and well equipped, with a comfortable bed, Nespresso machine, fridge, USB charging ports, bath robes, and complimentary bottled water. However, it was beginning to show some signs of wear, particularly in the bathroom, and the soundproofing could be improved, with noise from neighbouring rooms easily heard. Dining: 
Breakfast offered a good selection of Western and Asian dishes, although it became busy at peak times. The beachfront restaurant has a lovely setting, and the menu features plenty of familiar, family-friendly options. However, we felt some of the food lacked authentic flavours, and some dishes did not quite meet the standard we expected from a five-star resort. Facilities
: The pools are excellent for families but can become crowded during busy periods. Sun-bed reserving was common despite hotel notices, and pool rules were not enforced. We often arrived early to enjoy a quieter pool area before it became much busier later in the day. There is no dedicated adults-only bar or lounge. The lobby bar was not being used during our stay, although it would be a perfect setting for a quieter adult space, as is common in many international hotels. The main bar suitable for adults is located beside the children's water park, where loud bass-heavy music was frequently played. While this may suit a lively family atmosphere, it was less appealing for guests looking for a quieter place to relax. We also felt the Level upgrade offered limited value unless you intend to make full use of the complimentary drinks, particularly as there is no exclusive pool area. The tropical grounds are attractive and well maintained, although some outdoor furniture is beginning to show its age. Worn seating cushions and towels or laundry hanging from balcony railings also detracted from the resort's five-star appeal. Service
:The staff were consistently friendly and helpful throughout our stay. The front desk team were always accommodating with requests and dealt with them efficiently. A special mention goes to Baw, who always made an extra effort to make guests feel welcome, along with the other waiting staff, who also provided excellent service. 
This is a hotel that families with children are likely to enjoy, thanks to its wide range of facilities and beachfront location. Couples seeking a quieter, more exclusive and relaxing holiday may find an adults-focused resort better suited to their expectations.

Our stay at Meliá Koh Samui was absolutely fantastic. The staff were incredibly friendly, and two people who truly stood out were Van and Mateo — their service made our stay even more special. We stayed in The Level Grand Suite, which was spacious, beautifully designed, and had everything we needed. The food throughout the hotel was lovely, and the beachfront location couldn’t have been more perfect. A wonderful experience from start to finish. Highly recommended.

We have just finished an amazing two week stay at Melia Koh Samui. We received a room upgrade at check in which was much appreciated. The resort grounds are immaculate and the staff work so hard to keep them that way. We stayed in building 6 and the room was very nice and spacious. We highly recommend the Melia, this is our second visit. All of the staff are amazing but special thanks to Auto for the transfers, Baw and Tulu in the beach restaurant and a very special thank you to our two lovely ladies that looked after us at breakfast every morning, Bay and Pony - these girls are fantastic !

We had a fabulous lunch at Breeza Beach Restaurant & Bar. Delicious food with an extensive menu to cater for a variety of tastes. A gorgeous location right on the beach with lovely modern decor. The staff were exceptionally friendly and attentive, especially the manager Baw, and we will definitely be back.

Das Gym ist zwar relativ gut ausgestattet für ein Hotelgym aber viel zu klein!!! Cardiogeräte gerade mal 4 Stück. Wer gerne und viel im Fitnesscenter trainieren will, ist hier nicht richtig! Beim Frühstück hat man ewig lange auf den Kaffee warten müssen.

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at Melia Koh Samui! From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel completely at home. A special shoutout to Baw, who looked after us throughout our stay - attentive, warm, and always going above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect. Baw’s genuine hospitality really made our trip memorable. We also highly recommend the cooking class led by Chef Adam. It was such a fun, hands-on experience, and Chef Adam was patient, knowledgeable, and clearly passionate about sharing local flavors and techniques. We left with new skills and recipes we can’t wait to try at home. I also treated myself to a pregnancy massage at the spa, and it was wonderful. Our most favourite thing about the resort was the lagoon pool and being able to conveniently access it from our room. Between the beautiful setting, excellent service, and unforgettable cooking class, Melia Koh Samui exceeded all our expectations. We’ll definitely be back and will be recommending it to friends and family!

Friendly staff, amazing breakfast and pools

An amazing resort on a beautiful beach. Great pool access room was well worth the extra along with the level lounge access where we had drinks and nibbles all day. Staff were great, we couldn't fault a thing.

Food’s not bad and the beach a little crowded but we had a fun time and the kids loved it. The complex is sprawling. Took like 10 mins to walk in. So if you leave something in your car, don’t bother going back to get it unless you really need it. Service was excellent. Look for P’Baw, he’s super friendly and was very attentive to the family’s many requests - patient and went out of his way to please us. Thank you!

From the moment we arrived, he was incredibly attentive, friendly, and professional. We were dining with our family and friends and lots of kids, and he went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. His warm attitude, attention to detail, and genuine care made us feel truly welcomed. Exceptional service like Bao’s is what turns a great meal into a memorable one. He is a real credit to the hotel, and we hope to see him again on our next visit.

Where do we even begin? We cannot recommend Melia Koh Samui enough, but this review is especially dedicated to the incredible team who made our wedding and entire week perfect. Our journey with Melia started 3 years ago when our wedding planner, Faii, organised our proposal. She was so amazing that we knew immediately we had to have her plan our wedding too and she did not disappoint. For three full years, Faii’s communication was flawless. She was clear, super organised, and made everything we asked for happen with so much ease. Anyone planning a destination wedding knows how stressful it can be, but Faii made the entire process extremely simple. She noted every single detail and orchestrated our big day from beginning to end with precision and grace. We also had many family and friends join us, so we asked Faii if we could organise a pre-wedding gathering at the Power Lounge. She transformed the room with beautiful decor, delicious food, and flowing drinks, making the space feel extra special for our guests. Words cannot explain how grateful we are for her hosting this for us. From the moment we arrived for our week-long stay, every single Melia worker made us feel like we were at our second home. The service was unbelievable, everyone was so friendly, welcoming, and genuinely invested in making our day special. Other staff members even popped into the wedding to congratulate us, which touched our hearts. A huge shout-out to Faii and Maria, who welcomed us from the minute we arrived. We knew we were in great hands. The attention to detail was so precise that it made everything feel seamless. We started the day with a beautiful and meaningful Thai ceremony, and Faii walked us through every step so we understood the significance of each moment. Then, in the evening, the Western ceremony was organised to perfection. Faii, along with Marina (the restaurant manager), designed our dream wedding at the Breeza Restaurant, overlooking the magical ocean. It was everything we had ever envisioned. The night felt like a dream, complete with a fire show and fireworks that were organised so well! The staff during both ceremonies were absolutely amazing. And the food? It was out of this world. All of our guests have not stopped raving about how generous the portions were, how quickly the drinks were served, and how delicious every dish tasted. Credit goes to every single person behind the scenes who made it happen. Our family and friends felt so welcomed and had the best time of their lives. We will never forget the week of celebrations or our wedding day. Thank you, Melia Koh Samui, for making our stay and our wedding an absolute fairy tale. We are forever grateful. If you're considering having your wedding at Melia Koh Samui, don't hesitate for a second. Great service from the hotel Staff. From the front reception (except the larger girl that always looked a little upset and bit rude) the staff at the hotel was very nice and accommodating. They made our stay memorable. Big shout out to the sweetest guy- Bau- who treated us like family. Great job!

Today is our very last day at Meliá Koh Samui, and we are so sad to leave this absolute paradise. Amazing stay! Pool room with level access absolutely gorgeous and worth the extra. Gigi and Ribbon at the kids club are wonderful, our 5 year old daughter adored them and loved spending time doing the activities.

We liked it very much, very friendly atmosphere and stuff.

Melia in Koh samui is an excellent resort with a great breakfast buffet and wonderful vip concierge lounge at The Level which included amazing cocktails , food and soft drinks . The wait staff are exceptional and exceeded expectations . I would like to thank the waitstaff ( Kim, Sachi, Pink, Matteo, Zena) for making my experience memorable and always keeping my drinks filled and my belly full. The atmosphere is wonderful light and a nice breezy environment. I thoroughly enjoyed relaxing after a long day of sightseeing and beach exploring. Would gladly stay and choose the Level experience if I returned. I visited July 2026 and found the swimmable lagoons amazing refreshing warm clean and pleasant after a busy day of sightseeing . The hotel is clean, ultra safe and the grounds are impeccable. The resort was highly recommended by travel agency and I second their nomination . I purchased tours from the onsite concierge desk (Jay) who is a fantastic expert in luxury experiences and top tier entertainment. I valued his hospitality, services and recommendations and would like to thank him for all of his recommendations and tour advice .the tours that he sold were a better value than what I was offered from my travel agent and he was able to book me a vip national park tour at the last minute after my previous booking cancelled which I had booked months in advance .

My family and I had the best experience staying at Melia Koh Samui. From the moment we arrived until we checked out, everything was exceptional. The stay was incredibly pleasant, and the customer service was truly top-notch. Every staff member we encountered was warm, friendly, and genuinely committed to making our holiday memorable. I highly recommend booking The Level access. The Level Lounge was the perfect place to relax, cool down throughout the day, and enjoy the extra benefits. A special thank you to the amazing lounge team—Maya, Sachi, Kim, Pink and Matteo. They made us feel welcome every single day with their genuine hospitality and attention to detail, and they truly made our stay even more special. Kuson from Breeza Beach restaurant was also super friendly and accommodating. We enjoyed our dinner because of his hospitality. The pools are probably the best in Koh Samui, with plenty of space for both families and adults to enjoy. The beachfront is absolutely beautiful, and the complimentary kayaking was a fantastic bonus that we really appreciated. The rooms were spotless, comfortable, and beautifully maintained. Melia Koh Samui is a true five-star hotel, not just because of its facilities, but because of the outstanding service provided by its team. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would not hesitate to return. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Koh Samui!

Away from the hustle and bustle, the resort is still conveniently located within walking distance of a 7-Eleven, several massage shops, and a few affordable restaurants. The service was excellent. The gentleman who drove the golf cart and escorted us to the Level Lounge was exceptionally friendly. Whenever he saw us in the lobby, he greeted us warmly with a smile and always remembered that I was Mr. Chen. His kindness and attentiveness made us feel truly welcome. Special thanks to Kim from the Level Lounge. He speaks Chinese and kindly arranged a visit to the Roof Restaurant for us. The lagoon pool and our pool access room were definitely the highlights of our stay. The long, winding pool was surrounded by lush greenery and featured two fun water slides. My son absolutely loved it! The only downside was that the room could use some renovation. The toilet didn't flush very well, and the drain was a bit clogged.

It was a wonderful experience with an incredibly friendly and welcoming staff. The beach is beautiful, and the pool is amazing. The waitresses, Looknam and Rumi and the waiters, Krit Tiamo and Bao, are all very friendly, caring, and kind-hearted. Every time I had a problem or needed anything, they were always happy to help. They made my stay even more enjoyable. In general the whole staff was extremely friendly and polite. The hotel can be truly proud to have such friendly, professional, and dedicated staff.

Great location and staff; comfortable spacious room (we had Premium); excellent breakfast buffet and beach restaurant; esp enjoyed our daily yoga with Mui.

It’s a huge resort, but not really 5 star compared to other 5 star properties on the island. Due for maintenance. Suited to families. Loads of kids. And weirdly, the swim up bar is located right next to kids club and water slide. Inadequate shade (small umbrellas) on the beach and around the pool, but we were able to retreat to the shaded gardens around the canal pool.

We stayed at Melia Koh Samui, and our children absolutely loved the hotel and the kids’ club. Dada and Gigi were fantastic with the kids—so kind, caring, and genuinely wonderful people. They made our stay even more special. Hugs from us (Tia, Julian & Jordan)

The best hotel I’ve ever stayed in. It was my mom birthday and they made a special surprise. They gave her cake during breakfast! They also made a cake with banana leaves and cut them out into letters set it down on the bed along with flowers. I will be happy to say the best five star ⭐️ hotel I’ve ever stayed in. 5 stars. My daughter and I really enjoyed our time at Melia Ko Samui. All the staff were so friendly and helpful although not intrusive. I loved the breakfast buffet and sitting there having a cup of tea overlooking the beautiful grounds was pure tranquility. I was lucky to book 2 of the yoga sessions with Mui. Mui was a fabulous instructor - very strong and flexible and got me into poses I didn’t know were possible. I learnt so much from Mui and am grateful for her time. Overall the resort was wonderful and in a perfect location - not too quiet and not too busy. Walking from the pool onto the beach was great. Thanks for a superb stay.

It’s been an amazing experience celebrating my honeymoon in Meliá Koh Samui! Everything is perfect from check in to check out. The whole Meliá team are very hospitable and friendly while being professional. Especially Rainbow, our receptionist who helped me and my wife throughout our stay and make us feel very welcomed. It’s such an unforgettable moment that me and my wife would like to stay longer but couldn’t 🥲 We will definitely visit again in the near future!

This is a wonderful hotel, perfect for a family. They are very attentive. The staff are so friendly. They have a lazy pool which is really fun for children. In particular our stay exceeded expectations by Daniel who is the bell man. He was so friendly and kind. He remembered us and made an effort to learn our names. He conversed with us and we really enjoyed his company. He deserves a promotion as he went above and beyond for us when collecting our bags or taking us around in the buggy. We also really enjoyed speaking to Adam who is one of the chefs. He makes the best omelette in the morning. He was so friendly, happy and funny. He made us laugh a lot. He also deserves recognition!! The ladies in the kids club were so attentive to our child and we felt that the children were safe there in their care, although we never left them there alone. Overall this is an excellent hotel, especially for young families with babies. They had a Steriliser in the room, potty, baby bath, nappy changing mat and toddler stool for our child to reach the sink. We were extremely impressed by this. If you can, go for a pool access room if you have children. It's really convenient to go in and out of the room and also you will get access to Club which has snacks and drinks all day in AC - perfect for littles ones in the heat.

Very helpful and great yoga class

- Understaffed throughout, difficult to order anything at the beach, and orders were frequently wrong across all areas of the hotel. - No welcome drink upon arrival. - Not responsive on any inquiries. - Breakfast is average. - No towels available at the pool/beach. - The main pool was under construction for our entire stay. They knew this in advance but only disclosed it at the very last minute, and the compensation offered was inadequate. For a 5-star hotel, this felt deceptive and left us feeling cheated. - Poor room design: you can't have the balcony door open with the AC on — anyone on the balcony gets locked out if the door closes. I wish I'd had the option for a refund, they never even offered one. I would have gladly changed plans and booked an actual 5-star hotel instead.

Spacious resort, excellent breakfast buffet, rooms were clean and well decorated. Pools were nice but main pool could benefit from more shady seating. Highlight of the stay was morning yoga with Mui. She is very strong, knowledgeable, and had us in poses I didn’t know I could do. Highly recommend booking yoga with her if you stay!

Limited dining options… however there are several nice places to eat around the resort. Room service has limited options and only served till 10:30pm. Aggressive guests Occupying pool loungers and beach chairs.

There was pretty big construction happening and we were not told anything in advance. This is really poor customer service that they tried to make up for with a small discount on select items. Did not make up for it! Areas of the hotel were even closed. The property is a bit worn, not 5 star worthy. Kids play space way too small for size of resort, but the ladies who worked there were lovely.

Fabulous hotel with lovely, warm, welcoming and attentive staff. Whilst all the staff were lovely, a special thanks must go to Kim, Pink, Fern, Zena Sochi and Matteo in ‘The Level’ area for always going the extra mile to make our stay so unforgettable. The hotel is set in a beautiful location, the facilities are immaculate and every meal we had was stunning. I cannot recommend it highly enough.
