Hotellet ligger mellem jernbanen og en temmelig befærdet vej, der er således larm hele døgnet. Rengøringen er mildest talt ikke god.

Room was dirty, phone was covered in make up from previous person, cups and saucer had sticky stuff on them, can’t stand up in shower as ceiling is so low, mattress is really cheap, you can hear the echo from other people through the bedroom door as gap is big, room very outdated, remote control broken, breakfast advertised as open at 7.30 and nothing was set up, staff were having a chat and breakfast was ready about 8am, saw other guests arguing with breakfast staff as nothing was ready - most people staying here are doing the camino trail and want to leave early because it gets very hot outside during the day… disappointing breakfast service and no punctuality… AC does not work properly in room…. Totally overpriced for what the place has to offer

Pequeno almoço

A falta de insonorização dos quartos, colchões desconfortáveis . Eu fiz o check in mais cedo com a minha bebé , o meu marido estava num evento, dizem que estão 24h abertos… ele chegou por volta da 1h da manhã esteve 35 mins a tocar a campainha e bater à porta e ninguém veio abrir , foram umas senhoras que ouviram o barulho e vieram abrir a porta .

Unser WC hatte einen defekten Spülkasten, der ununterbrochen nachlief, was uns insbesondere Nachts sehr gestört hat. Auf Nachfrage wurde uns gesagt, dass das Problem bekannt sei, ein anderes Zimmer haben wir nicht bekommen. Bei 3 Nächten kritisch. Die Matratze war durchgelegen. Am ersten Morgen wollten wir um 9.50h frühstücken gehen (bis 10.30h möglich), es war bereits alles abgeräumt, da sie dachten alle Gäste wären dagewesen. Wir haben mit Wartezeit ein eingeschränktes Frühstück bekommen. Eine Entschuldigung gab es nicht.

El hotel es muy bonito y la ubicación es inmejorable. El restaurante donde se puede cenar es muy bueno y el personal del restaurante majisimo. La persona que nos atendió en la recepción del hotel también un encanto.

Nuestra habitación era amplia y muy bonita, si bien en el baño no habia mampara (en las fotos sí lo habia) y si te fijabas en detalles veias que necesita un repaso (cabecero roto por ejemplo). Además nuestra ventana estaba pegada a una máquina de aire acondicionado del hotel con lo que si abrias la ventana habia muchos ruidos. Otra cosa que necesita mejora es el desayuno. Habia variedad aunque no caliente solo habia huevos revueltos, cocidos y bacon. Pero la limpieza y el servicio dejaba mucho que desear, los 2 dias tuvimos que pedir, después de buscar que limpiaran alguna de las mesas libres porque todas se quedaban sucias un buen rato y parecia que molestaba que lo dijéramos, así como que en más de una ocasion tuvimos que pedir vajilla o cubiertos porque no había limpios y parecia que también molestabamos

Everything is abandoned, and everything around is old and in need of renovation. Preserving historical heritage is commendable, but it shouldn't be run-down and uncomfortable.

Beautiful hotel Barbara was a great receptionist, bar staff and very helpful.

A recepcionista foi pouco prestável, os nossos amigos chegaram por volta das 14:00 e foi lhes dito que não podiam fazer o check in só após as 15…. O quarto pode não estar disponível mas podem receber os hóspedes. No pequeno almoço tinham pessoal sem formação que não sabia tirar um café 🤦🏻‍♀️ Além de faltar loiça e as mesas estarem por levantar Este tipo de situações não são admissíveis num alojamento que se posiciona como um boutique hotel.

The staff is very friendly, the hotel is clean, it has a nice terrace and swimming pool and it is a sited in a historical building.

Our bed had an old mattress. I spoke with the reception about this inconvenience and despite they informed me that the mattress had been changed but the new one was not comfortable either.

Perfekt läge i centrum av staden och bredvid ett stort underjordiskt allmänt garage. Historisk byggnad med fint bevarade detaljer från 1500- till 1800-talen. Kan rekommendera att pröva de lokala ölerna i restaurangen.

A beautiful and unusual building in Viana do Castelo. The hotel is quite unique. Staff were helpful. The rooms were clean and nicely decorated. Very central location also! Breakfast was good.

The door to my room was hard to open. The lights flickered at times due to old wiring. Overall the building's history appears to affect some of the functionality of the hotel but this isn't necessarily a bad thing.

O Hotel é um charme ! E os funcionários muito prestativos !

Le personnel était très agréable et disponible, le petit déjeuner était très bon, la piscine était très agréable et bien situé par rapport au soleil, le restaurant et le bar à bière de l’hôtel était très chouette, le lieu de l’hôtel était bien situé et au calme par rapport à la ville et le bâtiment était historique et jolie.

Cependant l’état général des lieux côté appartement reste à revoir cela n’est pas mentionné qu’il n’y a pas d’ascenseur et donc très difficile d’accès aux étages pour poussette ou fauteuil roulant et personnes handicapées à mobilité réduite. Également énormément d’escalier sans accès ascenseur ou rampe exemple pour l’accès au petit déjeuner. Dommage que le restaurant et le service soins soit fermé le dimanche. Autre point assez dérangent la propreté est très négliger poussière, joint de salle de bain, bestiole, état des murs très sale et traces suspecte sur les fenêtres et mur à rafraîchissement serait à prévoir ainsi qu’un meilleur service de nettoyage. La literie, coussins, draps, serait également à prévoir au niveau remplacement.

The location and the rustic interior

A small double bed despite asking for twin beds. For myself and my son. The toilet was continually filling such that we had to ensure the bathroom door was tightly closed to reduce the noise The plug in the bath didn’t seal so that I had to keep the taps running to have a bath !!

Muy bien situado, el palacio es precioso, desayuno completo y el personal muy amable.

A cama podia ser mais confortável. Dificuldade de estacionamento. Só depois soubemos que havia uma parceria com com um estacionamento da cidade. Será importante essa informação estar disponivel no site ou no momento da reserva.

Que no tuviera servicio de cafetería/ bar teniendo uno al lado separado por unos setos ! Y en la cafetería del hotel no estaba abierta en ningún momento ! Teníamos una persona mayor que solicitó le llevaran unas consumiciones y del bar le dijeron que no servían en el hotel , que eran empresas diferentes . Una hora después vimos pasar unas consumiciones para unos jóvenes que supongo que eran amigos o de favor . He de resaltar que el servicio me facilitó el estacionamiento en la misma puerta del hotel . Fueron extremadamente amables

Très bel hôtel, près du centre, du port... avec de belles prestations et du mobilier ancien dans le style de l'établissement et de son histoire. Grande chambre meublée comme dans un château 😁 La piscine était bien également.

Le lit double était un peu dur, le lit d'appoint pour un adulte était un peu limite et correspondait plus à un enfant. La chambre était côté rue donc un peu bruyante le matin.

El lugar del desayuno, su variedad, las habitaciones necesitan una remodelación están muy obsoletas, la ducha muy mala y muy baja, no apta para personas altas.

A sala de jantar não pode estar incluida no hotel mais parece um bar. A Booking cobrou 81,13 € pelo jantar e só estava incluido cerveja ,prego,hamburguer e pouco mais. Dececionante.

The Hotel is in a great location. Near bus station and train station. Outside space with pool was very welcome after a day sightseeing. Breakfast was plentiful and varied. Staff pleasant and helpful.

The room we were allocated was in the attic facing the station. There was a large air conditioning unit outside the tiny window in the room which was very noisy. The noise from the station together with pigeons cooing did not make for a good nights sleep. There were 5 coathangers between 2 of us and 2 small drawers. Additional hangers provided on request. No hairdryer. The bathroom needs updating. The sealant around the bath was mouldy. Shower over the bath too low. Had to duck under shower head. Have stayed here twice before but sadly, we will not stay here again.

Le falta una reforma a las habitaciones. El baño muy antiguo, la cisterna estaba rota, muy poca luz. La habitación muy pequeña para meter una cama auxiliar (ya que éramos tres). Pedimos que si era posible cambiarnos y nos dijeron que no. La cama auxiliar muy pequeña y no era cómoda. Además me dijeron que no me aconsejaban sofá cama porque era más incómodo. Vimos efectivamente que el colchón del sofá cama era finísimo. En cuanto al desayuno, normal… había leído de que era fantástico y sinceramente tardan en reponer lo que se ha acabado y sobre todo que hay que subir y bajar escaleras cada vez que querías servirte algo

Las instalaciones están muy descuidadas, tamaño pequeño de TV, baño viejo con bañera y con cortina de supermercado. Las almohadas con bolas. Cama supletoria para un niño, no un adulto. Desayuno muy sencillo. Las fotos no se ajustan a la realidad.

Très bel hôtel de caractère idéalement situé au cœur de Viana do Castelo. Les chambres sont confortables, la piscine est très agréable après une journée de visite et tout peut se faire à pied. Le personnel est accueillant et disponible. Un excellent rapport qualité/prix, nous recommandons sans hésiter.

Le seul petit bémol concerne le supplément de 25 € par nuit pour notre chien. Nous apprécions que les animaux soient acceptés, mais ce tarif nous semble un peu élevé, surtout pour un petit teckel nain.

Das Hotel befindet sich in einem beeindruckenden historischen Gebäude mit viel Charme und Atmosphäre. Besonders gefallen haben uns das wunderschöne alte Gemäuer, der gepflegte Pool sowie die durchweg sehr gute Sauberkeit.

Leider entspricht der Standard des Hauses insgesamt nicht mehr ganz dem, was wir von einem gehobenen Boutique-Hotel erwarten würden. Die Ausstattung ist teilweise in die Jahre gekommen. Das Bett mit Federkernmatratze war für uns wenig komfortabel, da jede Bewegung des Partners im ganzen Bett spürbar war. Zudem war durch die nahegelegene Bahnstrecke der Zugverkehr deutlich zu hören. Enttäuschend war auch das Frühstück: Obwohl wir bereits eine Stunde vor Ende der Frühstückszeit dort waren, waren viele Speisen leer. Wir mussten mehrfach darum bitten, dass nachgefüllt wird. Dies geschah zwar jedes Mal, dennoch war es mühsam, ständig darauf warten zu müssen. Auch der Service wirkte insgesamt eher unpersönlich. Gerade als Pilger auf dem Camino hätten wir uns etwas mehr Herzlichkeit gewünscht. Bei der Abreise wurde weder nach unserem Aufenthalt gefragt noch eine persönliche Verabschiedung angeboten.

Jolie suite dans une ancienne demeure du 16e siècle avec beaucoup de charme; beaucoup d'espace. Bouteille d'eau offerte. Grande salle de bain avec baignoire et douche. Très bon accueil de la réceptionniste qui nous a aidé à réserver des places au restaurant pour le soir. Excellent petit déjeuner; possibilité de manger à l'extérieur. Petite piscine avec linges de bain disponibles. Très bon emplacement pour visiter la ville.

Un frigo dans la chambre serait un plus... Le 3e lit (un canapé lit dans le salon) de la suite est un peu court et moins confortable.

The central location

Seemed to be under staffed. We arrived on a Sunday and there was only one member of staff on duty for the whole hotel. The bar was also only open on lunch muted days/times.

El edificio es precioso y está muy bien situado, habitaciones amplias y cómodas con buen aire acondicionado, muchos espacios para quedar en el hotel incluída una piscinita encantadora, y personal muy agradable.

No puedo poner nada porque lo malo superó a lo bueno.

La enorme falta de limpieza y el trato recibido. Cuando llegamos vimos en la habitación que las lámparas de la mesita tenian mucho polvo, la cafetera tenía restos de café pegados en el exterior y en el baño no habían puesto rollos nuevos, el rollo de papel higiénico estaba por la mitad del anterior cliente. Al día siguiente, cuando supuestamente tenian que hacer la limpieza de la habitación, vimos que lo único que habían hecho era cambiarnos las toallas. Cómo nuestro WC necesitaba ser limpiado, bajé a recepción y discretamente esperando a que no hubiera nadie, le pregunte a la recepcionista Tania si cuando hacían la limpieza de las habitaciones limpiaban los baños, ella me dijo que supuestamente sí, y me preguntó si había signos de que no lo hubieran limpiado, yo le expliqué que mi wc estaba sin limpiar explicando por qué lo notaba, una situación un poco surrealista, y que no había limpiado nada porque había pelos por todas partes, ya que justamente me había secado el pelo y se me habían caído unos cuantos pelos. Simplemente pidió perdón, pero ni subieron a limpiar el baño, ni una disculpa más formal, solo lo ignoraron. Me vieron enfadada durante todo el día y les dio absolutamente igual. Así es como le gusta ver a sus clientes ? Parece ser que sí porque si no hubieran hecho algo. Claramente el personal no está a la altura de un 4 estrellas.

complete lack of sound insulation. From 10 pm. until around 2amI could hear every guest arriving, people walking up the stairs, doors constantly slamming, and children crying. The pool was also not clean, and there were neither pool towels nor a shower available by the pool, which was disappointing.

This well appointed, Friendly City Hotel gives you Access to the City (in the Center), my room was quiet, spacious and had a good View, the Hotel has a small Pool and terrace and is beautifully renovated. I was given an early Check in and a Small Tour which was appreciated. Overall, I enjoyed my stay.

O ar condicionado do quarto estava avariado, colocaram uma ventoínha muito pequena no quarto e não me avisaram do problema. Tinha avisado o hotel que faria o check-in por volta das 23h, tiveram oportunidade de me avisar. Estando em plena vaga de calor, recusei o quarto. Disponiblizaram-se por me arranjar alojamento noutro hotel similar, onde acabei por ficar, mas fiquei separada de outros familiares que ficaram hospedados no hotel, o que criou constrangimentos.

Quarto com ar refrigerado defeituoso. Calor acima de 30°.Insuportável. Solicitei desde o primeiro momento troca de quarto .Informaram que não seria possível pois estavam completos mas dariam uma solução. A solução veio no dia seguinte com mudança de hotel. Saí do "palacio" Melo Alvim e fui para um turismo de habitação .Muito charmoso o local e os proprietários excelentes anfitriões que me ajudaram com minha bagagem pois o local é em um calçadão. Solicito a Booking as devidas providências no sentido de me ressarcir do prejuízo e aborrecimento pois tive uma noite sufocante em claro e no dia seguinte perdi o dia tratando da mudança.

L’hotel è situato nel pieno centro della città, all’interno di una dimora storica costruita con materiale di pregio e arredata con molto gusto. Stanza molto ampia e luminosa, dotata di ogni comfort, bagno anch’esso ampio e pulito. Colazione ottima e varia, servita in un ambiente molto caratteristico della struttura con anche accesso su uno spazio esterno con piccola piscina. Personale molto gentile e disponibile. Lo consiglio vivamente.

posizione perfetta per visitare il centro, a 5 minuti a piedi, di Vila do Castelo; immobile storico molto bello e riattatto ad albergo; non ha parcheggio ma una convenzione con enorme parcheggio pubblico interrato, a pochi passi; camere vecchiotte, pavimenti in legno scricchiolanti, per cui di notte, se arrivano clienti poco educati, si sente tutto; bagno ampio e pulito ma con vasca vecchia e scomoda, a noi è capitato un bagno con la luce al neon che impiegava 30/40 sec. per accendersi; colazione sufficiente ma con disposizione del tavolo del buffet assurda, per cui i cibi sono disposti quasi uno sull'altro ed i clienti devono anche fare una rampa di scale per raggiungere il proprio tavolino Receptionist all'arrivo molto gentile e disponibile anche per prenotare il ristorante che avevamo scelto( Pedra Alta , a qualche km fuori Vila , solo pesce ma ultra consigliabile)

Do pequeno almoço e das almofadas e da insegurança ao entrar na banheira. A qualidade do enchimento das almofadas é péssimo. O pequeno almoço é de fraca qualidade começando pelo pão. Uma terra com tão bom pão servem pãezinhos congelados. O café é péssimo e o leite nem sempre está bem quente. O fiambre é de qualidade duvidosa. A limpeza das mesas na parte exterior é muito descuidada e há poucas cadeiras para os lugares nas mesas. Podia ser um alojamento óptimo se entendessem que há pormenores que fazem a diferença mas é pena que como hóspede tenha sentido uma gerência bastante distraída.

We rented 2 rooms for our family of 4. Both rooms were nice and big. Air conditioning. Breakfast was very good. Staff were very friendly and very helpful. Very good city centre location. Very nice private pool.

Craft beer venue was not open the days we stayed there.

It is a beautiful hotel located in a 500 year old house. Our suite was spacious and comfortable. Being center city was great as we could explore everything on foot. The staff was very welcoming and friendly. A special shout out to Barbara for her work to make the stay special. If our dog Toby could write, he would tell you that he was impressed with how dog friendly it was

The Wi-Fi in our room was not the best. It's probablyw due to the thick stone walls. The hotel informed us they were going to address this

Un excellent accueil, les hotesses ont fait preuve d’une gentillesse incroyable et ont répondu à toutes nos demandes. La grande chambre, le charme des lieux, la piscine avec la terrasse agréable pour prendre un verre.

Le lit qui grince. J'aurais apprécié une bouilloire dans la chambre. Les capsules de café payantes. C'était un peu compliqué pour obtenir nos 2 boissons sur la terrasse.

Hotel precioso rústico se está muy bien y tranquilo

Beautiful rooms and decor and breakfast lovely.

The lady at breakfast just stared and was not super friendly. Glasses were tiny so to drink water you needed to refill them at least 5 times to drink a normal glass worth of water! Other than the ridiculous mini glass sizes the rest was perfect. Car park one minute away and costs €10 a night.

One of my favourite accommodations in Portugal so far. It’s a mansion built in 1509, so the vibe was that catch up my breath. It’s renovated, but you still can see some of the walls/ parts underneath. Great location, right next to the train station and just a hundreds metres away from the pearl ‘Sanctuary of the Sacred Heart of Jesus / Mount of Santa Luzia Santuário do Sagrado Coração de Jesus’. Very friendly and welcoming staff. The rooms are big with high ceilings. It’s very clean too.

Usually I will be annoyed by hearing the neighbours next room, but in that case it was not something that concerned me as it was part of the vibe (as they are just a wooden door away).

Prachtig behouden hotel! Je bent onderdeel van de geschiedenis! Mooi gerestaureerd en ingericht en vlakbij het oude centrum en de Camino. Ondanks dat ik vlakbij het station zat had ik geen last van het lawaai van de treinen/bussen en de drukte.

De douche was een beetje ouderwets. Maar goed genoeg.

Wunderschönes Haus. Gute, zentrale Lage. Wir würden wieder kommen.

We got here early and were told to come back at 3 for check which we did however our room wasn’t ready and had to wait another hour and a half to check in . The receptionist was not very helpful. The hotel seemed to to have very little staff working . The bed was also extremely uncomfortable
