No cook top just a microwave and electric frypan but that was manageable. Tiny bathroom but clean and adequate. Mainly quiet but some highway noise in the morning.

Reviewed May 5, 2026We loved the cabin and it's location. To wake up in the morning and look onto the Fox Glacier was brilliant. Good communication from our hosts made finding answers settling in easy, thank you so much.
As my wife has mobility issue and finds stairs hard to do, the 2 large steps onto the verandah were a challenge, but once inside all was good. The low comfortable bed was also something we needed to workout in the mornings, but we managed.

Reviewed Jan 23, 2026Die Lage ist mega. Die Terrasse ist herrlich und man muss abends dort bei schönem Wetter draußen sitzen und essen! Dieser Ausblick ist der Hammer und in der Nacht muss man sich den Sternenhimmel ansehen! Es ist der Wahnsinn! Da dort fast keine Häuser sind ist der Sternhimmel unbeschreiblich schön.

Bei Selbstversorgung und den eingeschränkten Möglichkeiten von Restaurants im Ort, wäre eine Kochplatte im Zimmer angebracht. Es gibt nur den einen Selbstkocher, dessen Nutzung per Schreiben des Vermieters aber eingeschränkt ist.

Reviewed Dec 31, 2025Die Lage ist super, vom Bett im Schlafzimmer blickt man auf die schneebedeckten Berge. Das Platzangebot ist auch mehr als ausreichend für 2 Personen. Den überdachte Eingangsbereich mit kleiner Terasse haben wir auch Abends benutzt um letzte Sonnenstrahlen zu tanken. Die Klimaanlage heizt und kühlt schnell und gut.
Mehr Ablageflächen im Bad, ein Obstmesser und eine Nespresso Maschine hätten uns erfreut, aber das sind Kleinigkeiten. Dr

Reviewed Apr 14, 2025We loved that it felt like our own little home. Totally separated from the next cottage. It was very clean, equipped with plug adapters, and the owner was very polite and friendly.
It's a little too close to the road. Although traffic is not heavy, any car or truck that went by, you definitely hear it all day/night. But that won't stop us from staying again.

The location was just off the main road near a farmhouse and at night there was occasional traffic and the sound of dogs barking but neither was too severe. There were three adults in our group with one sleeping in the lounge area which we knew would be the case in advance but in practice this was not the best arrangement, we think it is best for a couple only When booking we did not appreciate how far out of the town we would be so that meant driving to get to shops, pubs and restaurants.

Reviewed Jan 11, 2025Loved this property. Amazing views that we couldn’t get enough off. Extremely clean and smelt fresh. Large lounge room, a nice deck to watch the view and the night sky. We even managed to view the southern lights one night. Very special! It’s not in the town, but we had a car and this was not a problem. This was actually a plus for us as it was the busy period.

Reviewed Jan 8, 2025Great little cabin in Franz Josef. The views were wonderful, and you wouldn’t know that you’re close to the main road. Easy to check in, appreciated the air conditioning and the fly screens on the windows (this seems to be uncommon in NZ, so we really appreciated it here). Beautiful sunset one night and star gazing the next night. Appreciated the board games!
The bed and pillows weren’t to our personal comfort preference, but they were reasonable! The kitchen is quite basic, so we didn’t cook whilst we were there (but it was as described on the listing, so no surprises). It is a little bit out of town, so we drove in each time rather than walked, which was fine for us but others may want to be able to walk to restaurants. There was no internet connection on the TV, only free to air channels (not surprising given the remote location, and the wifi was good so we could use our own devices).

Reviewed Oct 25, 2024The property is quiet and spacious with a very comfortable bed we had the best nights sleep of the trip there, sleeping with the window open (thanks to the fly screen) and listening to the rain. The property is very close to town and has nice views towards the mountains. The owner was friendly and promptly assisted us with a wifi issue.
There is nothing wrong with the property, and I would stay there again as we enjoyed our stay. My only comment is that some minor things were showing signs of wear and need to be replaced such as the forks in the kitchen (some were bent), portable washing line is falling apart and some of the board games had missing pieces.
