The lighting is quite inadequate for any reading activity that isn't back lit. Non matching crockery and cutlery items are a frustration.

Reviewed Jun 6, 2026Tipico motel che abbiamo trovato in giro per la Nuova Zelanda. Self check in.. Possibile il parcheggio di fronte alla porta dell'appartamento. In quattro siamo stati comodi nelle due stanze. Piccola cucina, in caso si voglia cucinare in appartamento nel salottino. Struttura su uno stradone fuori dal centro di Oamaru. Intorno non ci sono tante strutture aperte per cenare, soprattutto in aprile. Buono il bagno e letti comodi.

Reviewed Apr 9, 2026The room was large and had a kitchen which is good for us! Parking was easy! And it’s alittle on the outskirts of town and walking distance to the beach.
The noise of traffic as it’s on the main road which I didn’t think it was, so lots of trucks. Also a noisy neighbour yelling at her kids, I know this isn’t the motels fault but unfortunately it was a big negative for me!

He checked on on us after we settled in to make sure we were happy. Car park right outside unit. Studio unit perfect for one night. Very friendly cat also visited, presume it was part of the management team!! Loved having the resident wee cat visit and stay in our unit for a couple of hours. Complex is located on the main highway , not noisy as it was a weekend, during the week this will be very busy with traffic/trucks but this cannot be helped.

Tidiness of outside area. Dirty ashtray on table, garden and yard showed lack of care, eg weeds, long grass, back of motel out bedroom window untidy, seemingly old outdoor furniture, a bit of rubbish and very long grass. Large pothole in driveway. Outdoors felt neglected and sad.

The playground area needs a bit of a tidy up, but as we didn’t have kids it was not an issue for us. The unit didn’t have an air conditioner, but it wasn’t necessarily needed by us.

Reviewed Jan 23, 2026Long way from town but I should have checked prior to booking. Fabulous we could bring the dog as we were on transit to our holiday spot down south. Our room was great, but right next to the main highway so we didn't get a great sleep to the heavy truck traffic. The kids beds were good but ours was a bit too soft for us. The parking was awesome as we had two spaces outside the room ( boat & car ). The owner was very pleasant and helpful. If you could stay a bit further from the main road it would be great!
