Our homebase while visiting family in Ontario. We have been there already the third or fourth year in a row. Always got a room in the same hallway. Pool is great and clean. Breakfast is above average from other hotels. Huge parking lot. Next time we have to come during Peterborough Music Festival :-)

We came back for a 2nd time on our trip, that says it all!

The breakfast room was a bit crowded. Finding parking is sometimes difficult.

The room, view, pool, free drinks in the lobby, hot breakfast buffet and cleanliness was all top notch! The only drawback that surprised me was a phonecall I received at 11:05 asking us why we hadn't checked out yet. I'd already requested late check out, and even if I hadn't, I've never received a call at a hotel five minutes after check out time asking us why we haven't left yet.

The room was comfortable and the interior of the Inn was very clean. The breakfast was delicious and the hot items changed every morning. The pool area was clean, and the water was clear. The coffee maker at the front was a nice surprise and gave a special start to the morning.

The hot tub had a ring around the top which wasn't appealing and the chemicals were very strong (although the temperature was perfect). I wish the mini shampoos were larger, but not a big deal at all (just had to ask for more).

The staff were friendly and helpful. The rooms were very comfortable and clean. We had our own little patio with river view which we loved. The grounds were well maintained.

Breakfast was a bit chaotic. The staff could not keep up with the demand but they were amazingly accommodating and friendly while running their feet off.

We were in a suite. Very spacious and clean. The breakfast was very good and was ready on time. (We had to be out early for an event). Very friendly and attentive staff.

A King size bed would have made the experience a little better. A dishwasher would be nice to ensure the dishes are clean, but there is a sink and washing supplies.

Location. Check in staff were polite. Would have preferred room near elavator or near ice machine. Perhaps when guests book online or check in to mention it. Guests often have traveled a distance and are tired...maybe not ask!

Nice staff, back balcony gives a nice view of the river, daughter loved the pool!

Stayed at the Best Western Otanabee from Aug 7 to Aug 9. After a long day of travel we wanted to shower and were met with hair in the tub and on the walls from the previous guests. We rinsed the tub out the best we could so we could get quick showers in without paying to much attention to our surroundings. We mentioned it to front desk the next morning as we found it unappetizing to shower in someone elses hair specifying there was still hair on the walls. We asked if they could give the shower a good look when they passed for housekeeping. We even mentioned it to housekeeping as we were leaving for the day and they said they would take care of it. Once back from another day out and about, we were met with all the hair in the exact same spots. Mentioned it again to the front desk the next morning and again nothing was done. We understand we are not staying at a 5-star establishment, but when the bare minimum is being done and the hotel is charging over $200 a night, you question if they care more about their profits or the people paying for the rooms. We can only imagine where else the bare minimum is being done around the hotel, but we'd rather not think about it too much. To the next guests staying in room 219, keep an eye out for hair on the walls of the shower. It's likely still there.

Very familiar- our go-to motel. Consistently good. Buffet breakfast is a good feature too. Pleasant and efficient front counter reception and housekeeping staff as well. Morning dining room staff cheery and helpful too.

We specifically booked this hotel to use the pool and whirlpool but they were not open for our day there which was so disappointing

Hot breakfast consisting of egg patties or scrambled eggs, ham, yogurt, waffles, etc. Rooms have comfortable mattresses. Excellent indoor pool.

The pool was a nice temp and nice size. The showers had great water pressure. The beds were clean and the sheets were fresh and clean but the mattresses were a bit too firm for me and some of the others in the group. The water purification system in the lobby was a pleasant surprise and the coffee machine was very nice with lots of options. Breakfast was very nice with lots of options both days. The room was a little small for the number of people but still ok with a larger crowd. It’s a nice location on the river (but watch out for duck/goose poop), and close to many restaurants and the farmers market which was lovely.

The mattresses were a bit too firm. The a/c didn’t work in our room but, when I told the front desk, they said they’ll tell maintenance immediately.

Very nice salt water pool with deep 6 ft area for swimming, comfy beds very clean.

Breakfast was not remarkable.

Tara on the front desk is what hospitality is all about and what is used to be. She made our stay a lot more pleasurable with some issues that we had earlier. We will definitely be sending an email to corporate about our experience both positive and negative. It went from not very good to 100% better. Thank you Tara for being very good at your job!

The sliding door that went out to a beautiful gazebo on the river was wonderful. Our 8 month old also loved the pool, great temperature

Perfect very pretty location right on the water with access to put in a kayak. Our room also included a great little kitchenette. However, its right next to the fabulous restaraunt One Eyed Jacks, and the hotel breakfast had good variety and the staff were lovely!

The amount of goose droppings outside lol but theres nothing to be done about that.

No elevator in the building where my room was. It was only a two storey building, but I do have some mobility issues.

Room was clean, spacious with a lovely patio area outside and very quiet. Grounds were very nice and peaceful, staff was very helpful and friendly, breakfast was very good with lots of choice and variety. Pillows super comfy. Exceptional value. Will definitely stay again

We had a great stay from the time we arrived at reception.Fast easy check in, room was spacious and very clean, and breafast was included and was top notch with great variety. Very nice place to stay as the property has not nice outside amendities and nice scenery . Great for a family getaway

The concept is cool (river looking balcony rooms are great), more or less maintained place with some issues of cleaning and out-dating facilities

Hoewel het hotel gedateerd is, is het wel een schoon hotel. Er is voldoende keuze voor ontbijt en de ligging is centraal maar toch rustig.

Tijdens het inchecken was het voor de dame aan de balie een enorme uitdaging om onze naam te vinden. Een andere medewerker die er bij stond had onze boeking al gevonden maar de andere dame bleef zoeken en kon het zogezegd niet vinden. Ze gaf ons de lijst met alle boekingen en moesten we zelf maar kijken. Stond er gewoon tussen maar ze bleef een beetje moeilijk doen. Erg jammer. De dames van housekeeping die op onze gang liepen waren daarentegen super. We kregen alles waar we om vroegen en waren super vriendelijk. Een dikke tegenvaller was het bed en het uitzicht. We hadden uitzicht op het water geboekt maar voor ons raam stond een boom zodat we niet van het geboekte uitzicht konden genieten. Ik vroeg nog aan de baliemedewerkster of we uitzicht op het water hadden en ze bevestigde dat. Helaas voor ons was het hotel volgeboekt en moesten we het met deze kamer doen

The staff were really friendly, the location was fabulous with plenty of parking, and the room was a lot bigger than expected. Breakfast variety was great (and included)!

Very accessible and close to restaurant. Room was very clean but quite dated.

Air conditioner was extremely noisy and the system was not easily controlled. A couple of the lamps were very rickety and one almost fell apart. Toilet was very low and not for senior use. Will ask for disability room next time. No safety bars in bath/shower.

Location was good. Beautiful property on the river. My room looked over the river and had a deck to sit out on and enjoy the view. Shower had great water pressure.

Bed was soft. Looked like a sunken soufflé.

The room was a bit dirty. Dusty bed, glosset raisins on the bathroom floor and behind the end table. The fan in the bathroom was really dusty.

The staff, and i mean everyone, were some of the kindest and friendliest we've dealt with in many travels. Check in was So fast. As was check-out. The facilities were modern, very comfortable and Spotless. Location was even better than we'd hoped for. Definitely will be revisiting this coming summer. Thanks to everyone who made our short stay so enjoyable.

Our room was located by a backdoor exit and we kept hearing it slam.

We stayed two nights and had a pleasant experience. The hotel is well laid out and easy to navigate. The fireplace suite was cozy and the bed was quite comfortable. Basic continental breakfast. The heated pool was refreshing. Staff was friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay here again.

The property was central to all leisure activities we were in town to do! The staff were beyond welcoming and accommodating during our stay!

Selection was excellent. There were days when there were no seats so I took my breakfast back to my room. Pastries were soggy. Coffee was excellent
