Location and uniqueness of the hotel

This place has so much character and charm and history in all its walls and decor. From the old books in the library to the original staircases, a wonderful place to stay in Dublin!!

Everything. This is not a 4star hotel in any way. It’s more like a hostel.

Posizione eccellente, arredamento fantastico. Camera un po piccola per il prezzo, ma confortevole, letto comodissimo, pulitissimo tutto nuovo e funzionale.

Posizione sul retro non il massimo. Colazione continentale niente di che.Solite robe, niente di che. Poco varia, dolci confezionati, insomma per il prezzo mi aspettavo molto di più.

La posizione è abbastanza buona, a meno di 20 minuti a piedi da Temple Bar e cmq molto vicino a negozietti e ristoranti vari. La colazione ricca e buona. Gli interni molto caratteristici e curati.

Nella doccia l'acqua calda non aveva pressione e non si poteva usare. Il primo giorno abbiamo chiesto di risolvere. Inizialmente, alla reception, non ci hanno creduto e sono andati a controllare, per poi confermare e dirci che avrebbero risolto. La sera del giorno successivo il problema era sempre lì. Alle nostre lamentele hanno 1) proposto di usare la doccia di un'altra camera a un altro piano (come in un ostello), 2) detto di arrangiarci e trovare un altro albergo. Solo dopo almeno mezz'ora di discussione ci è stata data un'altra camera. Personale poco professionale e arrogante.

Dommage que le petit déjeuner irlandais ne soit disponible qu'à partir de 7h30. C'est un peu tard certains jours pour les excursions programmées. Petite note négative concernant le petit-déjeuner à emporter, assez décevant en qualité pour un hôtel 4 étoiles

Historical hotel with good meals and music at 8pm which we enjoyed. Good breakfast options included and fiendly service . Excellent value.

Instant coffee in room. Suggest a coffee maker or kuerig in room as there is no place to get good coffee before 7am. Or put one in the lobby area.

Staff were excellent. Great historic structure. Close to the GPO (Museum) and downtown Dublin in general.

No AIr conditioning!!! Nor good ventilation or a fan. As a result I had to sleep without a shirt and caught a cold. I know every establishment does it, but a top sheet would be grand ( not the comforter sheet combo) so to better self regulate sleeping temperature.

Booked hotel for 13 people for 3 days. Booked the Vault for an 80th birthday for one of the 13 people. Unfortunately, the service was extremely slow, and no one person seemed to be in charge. My grandson ordered a drink that never arrived, and eventually had to go to the bar himself. A 5 year old was not served her meal with everyone else. Too slow asking if we required extra drinks. All in all, it was not a happy experience for a celebrity occasion.

L'hôtel est très bien dans son style "typique" mais un rafraichissement pourrait être bien. Le petit déjeuner est varié et très bien. Le restaurant est très pratique après une longue journée de visite avec en plus des artistes live tous les soirs.

Sehr gemütliches Hotel und ausgesprochen freundliche Mitarbeitende. Das Abendessen in der Bar war sehr gut und die allabendliche Musik hat mir sehr gefallen!

The location was perfect for walking into the main parts of the city and for transport etc. and the reception being open 24/7 is very handy for coming and going.

It's quite an old building so you can hear your neighbours and the people in the room above you very clearly.

Das Personal war sehr freundlich. Kostenpflichtiger Parkplatz vorhanden. Musikfreunde mit irischem Tanz.

Frühstücksraum chaotisch. Hartgekochte Eier waren vergriffen. Regionales Frühstück im Kellerrestaurant, Buffet im Erdgeschoss. Das Personal war überfordert. Unterschiedliche Ebenen ohne Fahrstuhl. Außenterrasse ungepflegt. Die Abbildungen waren sehr geschönt.

The staff stood out for being so friendly and helpful. The nightly entertainment was great too and the food was delicious.

The dirty chairs in the front room when i entered the hotel did not inspire So easy to cover Gave a bad first impression The people taking the garbage out at night were extremely noisy but i understand you cant do much about that its a city Could have used more towels and wifi in my room was spotty

I choose main reason the Castle Hotel which was only few minutes away from the meeting place for day trip guided tours. My room was clean up every day. Breakfast was very good. Location was convenient.

I liked the choice of breakfast and the staff were friendly and helpful throughout my stay.

The level of cleanliness in my room was terrible. The carpets were absolutely filthy, the walls were covered in scuff marks throughout the room. The throw on the bed was stained. There were several hairs in different parts of the bath when I arrived. I tried to clean the bath with a towel and some soap before using it and the towel was absolutely disgusting by the time I had finished. The bath clearly had not been properly cleaned in a long while.

Staff was very accommodating and friendly. Room was clean and comfortable. The bar, entertainment and food was great. The location is perfect. I would highly recommend this hotel and stay there again! I love that they have kept the charm and history at this location.

Koselig personale, komfortable rom, utrolig bra utvalg av 2 typer frokost. Hadde glutenfrie alternativ. Beliggenheten var bra for oss da hotellet ligger i et litt stillere område men kort gange til transport, restauranter og shopping.

Breakfast was good although split between two rooms was a little awkward when family wanted different types of breakfast.

Lovely old character hotel. Restaurant down stairs was delish and the entertainment every night was fabulous. Staff were lovely.

Shower had next to no water pressure.

Ausstattung der Zimmer war nicht einem Viersternehotel gemäß, es gab keinen Kühlschrank im Zimmer, keinen Schminkspiegel, keine Abschminktücher, kein Infomaterial im Zimmer über das Hotel, keinen Notfallplan im Zimmer, die Aussicht war genau an eine gegenüberliegende Mauer

It was a long walk down the hallway to the room. I had requested 2 twin beds and assumed they would be separated. They were 2 twin beds pushed to gether. I was traveling with a friend not a spouse or partner. Beds were quite comfy, though.

The location for Dublin was excellent

The worst Irish coffee... ever!! Squirty cream.. you can do better than that!! Restaurant breakfast underwhelming and before expectations. Buffet breakfast met expectations of a buffet breakfast

This was our second stay at The Castle Hotel, and we will always recommend it! The location is exceptionally convenient, just a 5-minute walk from O'Connell Street, 2 minutes from the Hop-On Hop-Off bus stop, and complete with the huge bonus of a safe, gated car park on-site. It was the perfect base for our grown family to explore the city, Guinness Storehouse, Temple Bar, Jameson, the Kilmainham Gaol Museum and enjoy the nearby nightlife. The hotel is clean, comfortable, and thoroughly inviting. Our room and bathroom were impeccably clean. After arriving on a red-eye flight from Boston, we only had to wait an hour for an early check-in. This was huge for my wife as she is not well, and desperately needed the rest while we toured the city and I knew she was safe. The dining was top notch across the board. Breakfast was excellent, we enjoyed the continental selection upstairs and full Irish breakfast downstairs. We also had dinner downstairs, and all five of us truly enjoyed our meals. Beyond the great food, the hotel offers lovely sitting areas and even high tea! What truly sets this hotel apart, though, is the staff. Everyone is incredibly helpful, kind, and goes above and beyond. A special shout-out to Abby at the front desk and Abby in the bar/restaurant—both provided 5-plus star service! They were amazingly fun, professional, and genuinely enhanced our overall experience (and Abby in the bar kept us very well hydrated!). I recommend The Castle Hotel with 5-plus stars on all counts. Don't sleep on The Castle Hotel—sleep THERE!
