Place is good 👍
Bed was uncomfortable and blankets need to be changed
The kids facilities and how relaxing and quiet it was.
There were some broken taps in our chalet
The rooms everything was on point
We waited four hours for the iron
Nice location
We were only told late afternoon that the restaurant was closed on our first night there. It opened for the second night and the food was definitely not worth the R320 per person charged! There was no toilet seat when we checked in and we had to ask for one
Nothing really
The staff did not seem particularly interested in their work. They did tge bare minimum. The accomodatikn was nothing like what I had booked.
Peaceful and friendly staff and the food was nice
That we had to open the gate manually without any assistance and the shower not soo good as the shower cap was loose
Family friendly, best when you just want to unwind. Play area for kids, pool, comfortable beds and nature. Staff was friendly and willing to help when necessary.
Wifi was down for the whole duration of our stay and there is no network. Restaurant Menu options too limited and not detailed.
The usual Booking.com booking process worked well. The Lodge was in contact with me, answering questions. It was, by my own choice, close to the venue I was next visiting.
1. I was NOT informed that tap water was not potable - a situation rather unusual in South Africa, except for some very rural places. Fortunately, I had a 5 litre container of water - by pure chance, though. 2. The towels in my bathroom seem to have been "rinsed" and dried, not washed at very high temperature. They stank after having become wet. 3. We arrived after 18.00 which, at this time in SA, is "after dark". The signposting at the premises left much to be desired - maybe it works during the day, but not in the dark. 4. Nyala Lodge, where my unit (No 6) was, had very poor cellphone reception for MTN. This would not have been a major problem if we have been given the WiFi password - the signal was quite strong there but, with no password either given to us by reception or written down on the numerous information sheets on the walls of the unit, we did not even have a chance of... contacting the Reception for the password. 5. Overall, the place looked nice but a bit run down.
The area was very nice
It was so relaxing

Area, nature, wildlife, silence, peacefulness.
Restaurant and bar not open at all for whole time of stay. Wifi did not work at our cabin for whole duration of stay.

Beds need upgrading Restaurant needs extensive upgrade
The staff were friendly. The accomodation spacious. Minimal to zero signal or wifi, they sent the security gaurd and he fixed the plumbing and lights issue. No dedicated wheelchair accessible accomodation, though we made do and managed. We do like that the dining area is ramped. Its 10 min from the cheetah and cat rehabilitation centre, worthwhile visit and 30 min to an hour to Hluhuwe depending which gate you enter. We liked the roaming buck.
Lack of a dedicated wheelchair accomodation and the aging plumbing
We arrived in the early evening, not realising the restaurant would not be open, that one needed to make a reservation. We'd been on the road all day, on roads in Eswatini with no restaurant stops and had no food for supper. They kindly provided a meal from the lunch menu of toasted sandwiches, chips and side salad. Service was good. The lodge we stayed in as an overnight stopover was excellent, and would be lovely for a family holiday. However, the wi-fi didn't work in the unit we were in.
On the Impala Trail, I walked into an overhanging fallen tree branch which projections downwards, and which I didn't see through the peak of my cap, hitting my head so I fell backwards. I did mention this to the staff at Reception. Unfortunately we didn't see any animals on the trail - too late by mid-morning. The mixer tap for the kitchen sink was loose and unstable, needed a plumber's attention.
The roaming animals and friendly staff
Nothing.
The tranquility, breathtaking views, and warm hospitality were definitely my favorite part of the experience. A beautiful and refreshing getaway.
The only disappointment was that the accommodation we received was different from what was advertised on Booking.com. The wooden cabins were shown on the app, but we were placed in a different house that wasn’t displayed online.
View was perfect and cleanliness
Nothing everything was good
Loved the location and comfortable beds
Restaurant and bar quality and service were both great. Pool was clean. Wooden cabins were very comfy although they could do with a bit of modernisation/upgrading as they are starting to look old, albeit very clean Highly recommend the game drive with Wonder. No complaints at all . We really enjoyed our 3 days there
Neat and clean
It was a beautiful Lodge, well-kept room, amazing food and staff
The bed was uncomfortable and the toilet was loose. A small bar fridge would be great in the room, as we could not enjoy anything in the room, and did not know the costs of additional foods and drinks not included and it was expensive for us
Everything
there was no coffee, tea sugar, milk in room or shampoo an lotion
A really nice place to stay. The accommodation was just what we wanted. The restaurant was very good.

I liked the location and pool
I didn't like the railings because they are unsafe, I ended up hurt because of a fall that made me cancel my whole stay and breakfast because most items on the menu were not available
WiFi didn't work, aircon and kettle not working. Water brown.
Loved staying at Bushlands again, this was my 8th stay and will be back for sure.
Having the main gate on manual was quite tough so the only thing I would recommend is getting it auto opened when the buzzer is pressed.
It was quite and relaxing, very naturing. So beautiful the view, animals passing by. It os a beautiful and calm place. Good for romance
Gravel road i didn't like
Lovely riverine forest walk. Watch out for ticks afterwards! Boardwalk good for elderly. Comfortable viewing deck! Very friendly and helpful staff.
No self drives. Some problems with facilities, but maintenance attended to these quickly! Units may be a bit close for comfort during holiday season.
The environment and the advertised activities but couldn't attend any due to non availability.
The fact that your rooms don't have television, no network and electricity outages.
Food was mostly good. Staff were friendly
Wifi was not good at all. Almost non-existent.
The safari vibe it gave
Nothing
Friendly and helpful staff. Lush bush surroundings with free roaming Animals. Loved the giraffe that visited Nyala camp where we stayed. Bar and large fire pit provided great ambiance
The staff eas very friendly and surrounding area was clean and well kept
The accommodation itself looked clean but was very disappointing, we arrived late only to find the aircons where left on and the water of the aircons leaked onto the bed , so we only had half a bed to sleep on.The shower drains flooded whilst showering and it was gross as the water was also brown.
The friendly atmosphere with staff and guests. The quiet and peaceful environment. Breakfast and dinner was lovely Zanzele was so helpful and friendly, 10 stars for him.
The bathroom and toilets. Beddings smelled of sweat Cleaning of rooms and bathrooms were not done properly Water in shower, toilet and tap was too brown, it looked like dirty water.
Le restaurant.
Logement un peu vétusté et sans eau chaude
Restaurant team and also safari team
We booked 5 rooms, and the issues started immediately: • The water was brown • Air conditioning was broken in 2 rooms • Wi-Fi never worked and was never fixed during our 3-day stay • On the second day, the lights in the Braie area stopped working, and we had to use our phone lights • The bedsheets were not clean or properly white — more yellow/brown than white The property itself is clearly falling apart, and no one seems to care or make any effort to fix things or improve the guest experience. The only positive point was the kitchen staff, the waiters, and the safari team — they were kind and professional. Unfortunately, the rest of the staff appeared uninterested and indifferent. This place has potential, which makes the experience even more disappointing. I also believe Booking.com should take responsibility for allowing such a property on their platform. In its current condition, this place should not be hosting tourists. Overall, a very bad experience, and I would not recommend staying here.
The location is truly exceptional, nestled within a natural, untamed environment.
The services and amenities provided did not align with the initial representations. The Wi-Fi service was unavailable throughout my stay, and the air conditioning unit was operational during January, which is the warmest period in that region of South Africa. Furthermore, the bathroom experienced significant flooding when draining the bathtub, with water overflowing from the shower into the bedroom due to a blocked drain, necessitating a maintenance intervention. The bed mattress was unacceptably uncomfortable, significantly impacting the quality of sleep. I also had to request maintenance and management to install a lock on the connecting door between two units, as the lack of a secure partition compromised privacy when the adjacent unit was occupied. Additionally, I had to specifically request the kitchen key, as it was not included with the room keys. This stay was exceptionally challenging, as I had anticipated a restful experience but instead had to actively address numerous issues to bring the room to an acceptable standard. The accommodations did not meet expected standards and certainly do not reflect a 3-star rating or the 8.7 Booking.com rating advertised at the reception.
Everything was well taken care of and staff were very friendly. Food was good and a good variety.
lack of WiFi and where there was WiFi it was very slow to non existent.
We love Nyala unit number 7 Self catering and separated from other units which suited us perfectly.
The condition of the main lodge and other facilities is in poor condition. Definitely could do with a Make over or just to fix up what is currently in place. Also to introduce more species of animals would be really nice
Too expensive.
Rooms require a lot of maintenance. Broken furniture. Faulty lights. Wifi not working. No dishwashing cloths. No vegetable peeler. No braai tongs. All in all, rooms in a poor condition.
Breakfast was good and stuff was friendly
There was no water in my room even though I was advised I would find two water bottles, and the sale water costed an arm and a leg, resulting to us driving out at night to get water. The sale of water is absurd. I am of the view that the facility could’ve supplied it for free. There was no tv and fridge in the room. When we went out at night it was a mission to get in when coming back. It is best for guests to have access to have direct access to the entrance, that way it would be easy to access the facility without having to call in
Kitchen staff were pleasant. The duikers were munching food right outside our chalet and loved the fact that the outdoors had that natural look. Beds were comfortable
Rooms were not cleaned properly. Carpets were not vacuumed and if you walked barefoot your feet became dirty. The shower was clogging and not washed and cleaned every day. Only the floors were mopped in the bathroom. Water was brown. The stay would have been perfect if only the rooms were cleaned properly. Also complimentary water only given on the first day. Felt it should have been given every day. Especially for the price paid to stay there.
The location and the total area of the gamelodge is good. Restaurant was good and the staffs in reception and restaurant were great.
The booking was done for 2 room self catering accomodation but they offered only 1 room communal kitchen accomodation of 2 units. And they offered wifi but it was not connecting even after complaint the issue was not resolved. LOUD sound when the tap is opened or toilet is flushed in adjusent rooms all through the night this was disturbing and scary in the beginning.
The staff was very friendly, and very helpful. The rooms were exactly what we saw online. Very clean and they clean them every day.
Nothing
The breakfasts and dinners were very good.
Amazing service, Freindly and helpful Pools were clean and so was the lodge. Beautiful giraffes in the resort as well Very private and peaceful Everything was just lovely
Wifi could be improved. No network at all.
variety of food
It was my mum bday and i had asked for something special but received nothing...still waiting
Nice bush experience to connect to nature
None
Kids loved it, relaxing,atmosphere.
Die Lodge in herrlicher Natur, sehr freundliches Personal, die Fütterung der Buschbabys am Abend. Der Nyala Trail.
We loved the whole experience We loved the peace and quiet
We did not like it was not well lit We came home to a snake which we could hardly see we did not like that there is no convient shop on the premises for ppl to buy something that they forgot as the road is not good there is huge ditches even leading to the reception with deep holes out little car took a bashing if u forget something like sugar it's a far drive to go get they should have a small shop on the premises but we loved the stay the door locks were broken And we got locked in the toilet twice this is minor problems that should be checked before a guest arrives but very friendly staff did not enjoy the Boma fire which was in most pics they did not have firewood to burn kept saying it's wet very disappointing wanted the whole experience.
Unfortunately I arrived during a power outage. Not your fault. WiFi was an issue
Waiter was very nervous. New at the job. He tried his best. needs some couching and he will be fine.
Beautiful scenery. Peaceful and quiet with a gorgeous viewing deck
Gravel dirt road for about 10km. Rooms have old and worn out linen
Bello, accogliente, confortevole, personale pieno di attenzioni
The staff were very welcoming and helpful. The walkways around the lodge, the presence of many birds and animals. The kitchen and braai facilities in our lodge.
It could do with some upgrades in the bathrooms.
The peace and quiet and freedom from most media streams.
We had great dinners and service from the restruante and bar. The outdoor pool area and fire pit with lights and comfy seating was wonderful at night time. A great atmosphere. The staff were extremely kind and friendly. Nothing was too much trouble. The chief came out to greet us as well. A really special experience for us all.
Nothing at all.
