Unfortunately I didn't see the whole place .we arrived there around 8pm. Maybe next time we will see everything. Breakfast was nice and staft was friendly.

Comfortable and clean. Unfortunately due to the time of year it was cold and wet so we couldn’t make the most of the outdoor facilities.

The hotel was quiet so not many guests and we ate dinner in the lounge area. A group of Zulu dancers came in every night and it felt very awkward with only a few people watching and then being asked to join in and for tips. When the hotel is quiet a show once a week would be enough.

C’est un très bel hôtel (bien situé) avec un excellent petit-déjeuner et buffet le soir. Petit bémol : l’eau est froide, ou au mieux tiède.

The look of the place

1. Noise levels in the passages and by guests staying one floor above scraping their chairs and walking with clumpy feet … unacceptable 2. Forget expectations when eating at the restaurant. They either don’t have what is offered on their menu or the food is lacklustre and tasteless 3. As for the shower, the temperature and pressure was great but the drainage of the after shower soapy water was eeeuuuw. Expect to be standing in your own shower water whilst still showering

We had a terrible dining experence. Firstly we ordered starters my wifes arrive 35 min after mine. She had peri peri chicken livers which was some sort of mush in tomato, no peri peri, no liver solids it was disgusting she could not eat it. For main i had barbecue ribs, the ribe was boiled not grilled as it should be, it came drenched in tomato, no barbcue for this meal i payedjust over R1000. The chef should either be trained or fired , i cant cook but im sure i can do better. The hotel is as always fantastic, we have stayed here on numerous occasions over the years. Please fix your so called Cheff

As always, this Hotel makes one feel comfortable away from a bust city life. Also, the setting of the establishment welcomes on to even come back in future.

Cleanliness and location, but the room was just standard for the amount paid.

The breakfast had too limited choices to choose from. The staff was not too friendly as well. You must benchmark from your peers especially the ones in |Newcastle

The hotel is easily accessible from the main road and the location is good. The property is well kept and maintained. The room that we booked was big a spacious, it also had a beautiful balcony overseeing the garden.

I honestly can’t fault this place as we had such a pleasant stay but if I really had to mention something I didn’t like than it would have to be the fact that the shower water temperature wasn’t always hot to my desired temperature. I had to get my boyfriend to shower first as it took time for the hot water to come out.

The hotel is conveniently located and the rooms were clean and comfortable. The staff were generally friendly and the overall atmosphere was pleasant.

The biggest disappointment was the hot water. During the middle of winter, the water was only lukewarm to cold, which made showering quite uncomfortable. This significantly affected our overall experience and is something that should be addressed.

The food was delicious, the dance being around the wood fire the staff was friendly you guys are extremely good keep it up

Thank you for such an amazing stay, to the incredible reception team you guys exceeded our expctations as I celebrated my birthday I even got a free room setup and dessert😊. Through registering for Wena Bucks we got a discout and we also requested the late check out. Our tour guide Fanele had so much knowledge and was such a nice person to be with. The highlight of the day was to see the big 4 (unfortunately we did not see the leopard). We spotted apair of lions up close and we even saw them hunting. It was a weekend to remember forever, thank you ANEW team you owe me nothing.👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

If you are considering booking at ANEW Hotel Hluhluwe, please exercise caution. We recently stayed there from 01–03 May 2026 as a group, occupying a lodge designed for five couples. While there were a number of smaller concerns during our stay, we chose not to make an issue of them at the time. However, on the morning of our departure, one of our vehicles was broken into on the property. This is not just disappointing—it is a serious security breach. What is even more concerning is how the situation was handled. On-site representatives, including maintenance and security, gave repeated assurances that camera footage would be made available. Only a day later did we receive communication from management stating that the cameras were not operational. This directly contradicts what we were told during our stay, where strong emphasis was placed on security measures, surveillance, and overall guest safety. As guests, we relied on these assurances. Members of our group, including our spouses, felt comfortable walking around the premises at night under the belief that appropriate security systems were in place. There is a clear gap between what is presented to guests and what is actually in operation. Safety should never be overstated or misrepresented—especially in remote locations where guests are fully dependent on the establishment. Based on our experience, we have lost confidence in the security and transparency of this property. We strongly encourage anyone considering booking to ask detailed questions about security measures and ensure they are satisfied before confirming their stay. Safety cannot be compromised.

Location was good. Enjoyed the game drive.

Restaurant food was atrocious. Service was poor. Definitely not in keeping with the price payed. A definite zero.

Our vehicle got broken into on premises and items taken. Supposed to be a secure and safe place to stay.

We enjoyed our stay. Pleasant hotel however the bathrooms do need an upgrade. We enjoyed the breakfast especially the chicken livers. The lady chef making the eggs was so welcoming, we loved her. Such a warm spirit.

It was noisy and lots of doors slamming because they dont close flush,you have to force doors closed. Didnt get the Basics right ,we were four guests and only two towels given. Only two mugs given and 2 small milks. Curtains didn't close end to end. Cold water dribbled through.

The hotel itself is a beautiful place, lovely setup on the inside, the rooms and dinning area very nice.

The main room in any hotel or lodge for me is the bathroom/toilet, and the room I was booked into had no window in the bathroom/toilet, yes in the bathroom there was an extractor fan but it quite did not serve the purpose, not to mention in the toilet, there was no extractor fan, so you just can imagine with that how horrible my stay turned into. Their breakfast..... the chefs' could do with a little improving.

this was the best buffet breakfast we have ever seen at any hotel. The selection was great. They even made pancakes every morning for my autistic son which was the best ever. The chef is a genius

i did not like the shower head they used, it limited me whilst bathing as not enough water was coming out. but i understand maybe they are saving water.

Great location, excellent balcony and view. Bad access road to the parking, poor/old touch points makes the hotel feel unkept and uncertain of your stay.

Room was fine. Restaurant was terrible! Unacceptably long wait, only to discover forgotten starters and fridge cold oxtail. Staff were friendly but overall it was expensive and disappointing! I think they’re geared towards foreign tour groups with lower expectations. Not recommended.

Anew Hotel Hluhluwe is amazing. We booked our game drives through the lodge, and they did not disappoint, we saw four of the Big Five on our very first drive. We also had the most incredible cheetah sighting. I would highly recommend Anew Hotel Hluhluwe.

Anew Hotels in general offer value for money nationwide throughout South Africa. Their Hluhluwe location offers Zulu dancing nightly, as well as easy access to booking a game drive in Hluhluwe National Park. The beds and pillows are so comfortable, and the staff is welcoming and helpful. The breakfast buffet is not to be missed!

It was my 3rd time staying in the hotel and it’s always a great experience. But I wish they could adjust liquor prices or bring back the international and local pricing.

The location was great. Central to everywhere we wanted to go.

In the perfect location for ease of access to the Game Park. Clean and spacious rooms with amazingly comfortable beds. Great breakfast! We only stayed for one night but were impressed with what Anew offers.

Lovely Hotel. We stayed in the Lodge with 10 people, was a nice secluded lodge very private, but within gates so felt safe. Staff very friendly and helpful.

The overall stay was exceptional, exceeded my expectations. Both breakfast and dinner were excellent (served on time and had variety). The following day i went to Fazala Game Lodge for a full body hot stone massage with the help of a staff member (Andile), it was so good and served the purpose I booked for. Later (3 pm), I went on a game drive with a wonderful guide (Cela), it was so good, educational, and refreshing.

None, I am satisfied with the overall experience and services offered by the ANEW hotel and resorts. I am looking forward to visiting again in the future, with a friend, partner, or family member, just to also introduce them to that excellent experience.
