The hotel facilities were fine
They charged us for bogus charges. My son has disabilities (autism) and we were asked to leave because of the smell of our room. This was to cover for the fact that they did not want our son at the hotel. We cooperated with their requests and thoroughly cleaned our room - showed them evidence that there was no damage to our room. They charged $850 to our credit card without discussing with us and said that they had to clean the room because of the smell (no damages were identified). We disputed the charge and our credit card company removed it.

I found the hotel decent, and the prices absurd for what you got. We were in a "King Deluxe". This was a relatively small room, barely big enough for the king bed. "Deluxe"? Really? I'd hate to be in a "Standard". The mattress was on a wooden platform, not a box spring. And there was no place to sit in the room! No chairs, No desk. Nothing. Sure, there is a balcony. But that is not very helpful in winter, or in 90+ degree heat we had in July 2026. I have stayed in thousands of hotel rooms. Never have I been in one without a place to sit. No place to relax, read, look at your laptop, etc. Ridiculous. The prices are exorbitant and that is not all. You are taxed to death on top of that -- about 22% in taxes and fees, and another 10% in the ubiquitous and ridiculous "resort fee" that hotels love to stick you with (which is also taxed). So look at that room rate -- then add 35% to get your real charge. I will say that the staff were great, top to bottom, when they were available. They were severely understaffed, which is a management issue. Front desk phone frequently went unanswered, as did valet / bell desk. Really, for $500 a night all in, I expected much more.
Great value for the two bedroom apartment Beautiful large pool with multiple hot tubs Big well provisioned workout room Friendly staff Fantastic location for outdoor activities EV charging station in the parking area and nearby - all pay to use.
Not enough restaurant choices w/in walking distance.
We loved the pool and the Pool Bistro. We also loved having the marketplace where we could get coffee and breakfast every day.
We did not love that the menu in the restaurant was the same menu for room service. There wasn't enough variety for meal options.
Beauty
The king room was small. Other than the bed there was only a straight chair to sit on. Prior to the store opening there was coffee offered in the lobby. Once the store opened that coffee was taken away and you had to buy it. Most hotels offer coffee in their lobby all the time. Some amenities in other hotels are standard that were missing in the grand.
Overall, the hotel was clean. Housekeeping does a good job. Walls are thick enough not to hear neighbors, aside from doors slam closed, some scraping above, and utilities running, like water.
Upon arrival, checkin was slow, with only a couple of people in front of me. Once in the room, it was disappointing to discover a hotel as pricey as this one still only has Direct TV with mostly only shows from the 1990s playing and a tons of commercials. A Roku box to login to one's own Netflix account seems standard with alleged lower star hotels. This hotel needs to update the TV system. The window opened, but had no screen. There were minimal bugs, but still there should be screens. The room did not have a "do not disturb" sign in it. I called the front desk 5 times to have one brought up,, nobody answered the phone. I made the long walk to the front desk and asked for one. The gal didn't have one on hand, said they contact housekeeping and would have one placed on my door. I went to bed, slept terribly, though it wasn't horribly uncomfortable. Woke early and was partially ready when housekeeping knocked on my door. I opened it and told housekeeping the front desk gal was supposed to get me a sign the night before. Again, housekeeping is good, she appologized and said she'd get a sign and put it on the door and immediately did. I doubt the front desk gal said anything to housekeeping. The in-hotel "convenience" store was very inconvenient, with it closing at 3p. Making it almost impossible to actually get things when they are open. But, if you manage to get there when it's open it's decent and they made good coffee. The bathroom lighting was too dim to properly apply makeup. The rest of the bedroom lights also were not bright enough for anyone to put makeup on in the room with only for laps or table lamps, causing the bathroom to be excessively crowded as it had slightly better lighting than the bedroom. There was also no fan in the bathroom, causing trips to the bathroom to be clearly heard by those in the bedroom.
It was a beautiful facility in a beautiful setting.
It was a bit pricey. We would have stayed longer if it was cheaper.
The pool and Location!
Loud kids at the pool.
The entrance The pool was not too bad, but on the cold side The restaurant food was excellent
Not sure I’d have to get some thought because it was all fine or above
The rooms are gorgeous with great views. You can spot wildlife from your room. It's very close to restaurants and they provide a shuttle into town.
No one told us that mud season the entire city shuts down. 90% of the things we wanted to do were closed, including the restaurants. We were only off by a weel and would've paid more to have those amenities. Most of the staff was nice, a few people were a bit dismissive and the lines to check-in were long.
The room was comfortable and clean, the pool was great, and the staff was very helpful and friendly.
We had to pay $25 a night for parking in the garage and there was no complimentary breakfast options
The location was excellent parking was good, views wonderful
Restaurant closed too early no room service available
It was our 50th Anniversary and the staff went the extra mile by bringing a very nice card to our room with some extras included. We were very pleasantly surprised.
Nice room and friendly staff, although miscommunication about nearby restaurant availability and deposit required by the Hotel.,
Short restaurant hours, no pool facility due to construction and construction on site. The Hotel, not Booking.com, charged my credit card for a deposit of $50.00. When I requested a refund no one could help me receive a return of the funds that were taken from me.
The pool is the best in Steamboat for lodging. It’s always so clean and classy. Always love waking up to the hot air balloon out our windows.
ONLY thing I struggle with about The Steamboat Grand any time I stay there is getting my deposits back in a timely manner.
The hotel was very nice and the customer service was amazing! Everyone was so friendly and helpful. We also loved the free shuttle service to town and the drivers were great.
Alles wunderbar, hat einfach alles gepasst
Es gubt nichts dass ich schreiben könnte
beautiful hotel in a great location. nice restaurant for dinner.
Excellent room, great balcony, very convenient location and bed very comfortable. Felt the Steamboat cabin vibe.
Are few things didn't work. Cold water faucet jetted tub and keuirg coffee maker. Disappointing
Overall, the experience was good. We had a one bedroom condo that was very large. Gas fireplace in the room was a nice touch. While we did not use them, the pool and hot tubs were very popular with many guests. Staff was pleasant and helpful. The shuttle into town was very useful and we never had more than a 20 minute wait for it. The one negative for me was the lack of a full service restaurant for breakfast and lunch. There was the Market that had a quick but limited menu.
The Steamboat Grand is a short walk across the street into the resort village. The staff is wonderful, helpful, and friendly. I enjoyed the fireplace and balcony in our room, and my partner enjoyed the tub. The free shuttle service to get around town and convenient businesses attached to the hotel (restaurants, bodega, ski rentals) are great. The lobby clothing store had some solid deals.
We stayed for 7 nights. Our first room smelled like a wet ashtray but thankfully we were given a new room after being forced to spend one smelly night in the bad one (again, the staff is wonderful and accomodating). Rooms are a bit small. Terrible cocktails at the bar, unfortunately. They really need to hire a mixologist and get a proper cocktail program going. Food and line speed in the convenience store could be a lot faster. Coffee there is so-so. The ski rental shop inside the hotel has strange and unhelpful hours, didn't have much of a choice than to go elsewhere for demos.
Hello, I‘ve stayed here a couple times before, the grand is very nice. I like the location the pool area and the restaurant.
When I was looking to book,I used the steamboat resort website and it showed no rooms available, so I had to go thru booking .com. I asked for an early check which they did. However the rooms I get are facing the mountain and in the past they have given us those rooms. I called and asked they said they could not do it. Then we also book our ski thru the ski butler inside the hotel. It was a mission we were over charged the lady helping was kinda of rude. Gave us either to big or to small boots, we had to waste most of our first ski day finding where to go to exchange them. The person I reserved at steamboat resort had all our information incorrect and had over charged us for our boots ski helmets rentals. On top of that our Ikon tickets never were mailed so we had to also waste time going to the office to get them. That took most of our first day getting it straighten out. My sister in law had to change her boots 3 times and my husband and my self had to changed them 2 times. And why did you stop serving breakfast it was delicious we so looked forward to it.
It was located in the best area. It is very comfy.
We rented a room for 6 people. But you cannot use the second room comfortably since the kitchen takes most of the room.
Beautiful place. Many luxury amenities: Heated outdoor pool & hot tubs, gym, saunas, free laundromat, WiFi. Large comfortable fully-equipped condo unit & full kitchen. Several great restaurants/pubs in the building or nearby. Free shuttle to town with many restaurants & shops. Across the street from the Ski Base area for access to entire mountain.
Very upscale spot
Bartender Travis and waitress Angela were so friendly and gave us excellent service!
Great room!
Staff were not very welcoming and the room selection in an almost empty hotel put us right over the main entrance where commercial vehicles arrived early in the morning
The views were incredible and the room was very nice. The fireplace added a lovely atmosphere! I will say there were hairs in the bathroom shower from the last guest, but besides that everything else was very clean.
The staff was wonderful. But for the room price they should have a few more amenities, such as coffee in the lobby, included or discounted breakfast, etc. Also a better choice of pillows would be nice. There was construction going on right outside our room causing noise and odors.
The pool/spa area was wonderful. The staff were friendly and very helpful.
Big, clean room. I could live there. Must be awsome in ski season.
Staff is great, friendly, accommodating. Rooms clean and amenities are wonderful especially shuttle service. Vera was great! . Parking and location cannot compare.
Place was nice overall. Be aware if you book through a 3rd party site like Hotels.com, Expedia, etc they will not give you a receipt for your stay - not even via email. We were told it wasn’t possible. Not a fan of this policy and I haven’t encountered it at any other hotels or resorts.
It was beautiful, clean and quiet.
Fantastic stay
Awesome experience, all the way from check in to check out, pool and hot tub, bistro, dinner, personal, absolutely everything will be back soon, this property is amazing
.
I was really surprised that parking was not free. Twenty five dollars a day is ridiculous, especially with what we paid for the room. The couches were not comfortable either. I understand trying to get furniture that would be easy to keep clean, but i felt like it was outdoor furniture. Not sure if we would stay again.
The thing that impressed me the most was the friendliness of every staff member we encountered during our stay. Never experienced that before at a resort. We stayed in a mini suite which overlooked the pool and mountains. Great view! Very comfortable for 3 people especially having 2 full bathrooms. This is a great property and highly recommend. Would definitely go back. The only minor issue is the lack of a grab bar in the shower/tub and not having a slip-resistance material applied to bottom of tub. Taking care of this would help older guests such as myself.
The hotel is right at the base of the mountain so ease of access to the resort is right there. Town is only minutes away and there are plenty of shuttles to get you around town. The staff here are exceptional. While the building is older, it's clean and comfortable with a hospitable feel.
Highly recommend
Nice hotel
The bed was very comfortable.
Great pool!! Nice location.
We had seen this resort on the RCI website, but it never had an opening when we could go - until this year! It was hard to research layouts of the units, even on their own website, so we went in a little blind and nervous getting a two bedroom unit with two parents and three kids (and not wanting to sleep anyone in the living area). We were pleasantly surprised though - our unit consisted of a main room with kitchen, dining, living area with a fold out sofa and two twin size day beds, a fireplace, and a full bathroom; a bedroom with two queen size beds and another full bathroom; and a master bedroom with a king size bed, fireplace, balcony, and another full bathroom with a two person jacuzzi tub. The master bedroom was a little tight on space, but the other rooms made up for it. There were shampoo, conditioner and body wash dispensers in all the showers, and lotion and hand soap on all the bathroom counters. There were dishwasher tabs, liquid dish soap, a sponge, coffee pods, and hot chocolate in the kitchen. It was also stocked with your usual cookware and dishes. The bonus was a crockpot, so we bought a roast and set it to cook while we were out on a day long activity and came back to supper ready (you could smell it all the way down the hall)! Housekeeping knocked on our door around 8:30 am the first morning wanting to come in and clean and make beds, so we ended up putting the privacy door hangers out the rest of the trip. They still charged us the $290 housekeeping fee, even though we were there the full week. At checkout when I complained about being charged for housekeeping when we didn't even use the daily service, they said they couldn't do anything with that, but they did refund the $25 a day parking fees. The pool area was smaller than it seemed in the pictures online, but still nice. They had two hot tubs, one was supposed to be 18+ only, but that wasn't enforced by staff or other parents, and only designated by a small tile in the floor in front of its entrance steps. The staff were good about keeping pool towels stocked. They had a poolside bistro with food that wasn’t overly expensive. The resort offers free shuttle service during the day to downtown areas, so we took advantage of that a number of times. The city of Steamboat Springs also offers free bus service in the area, so you can use that for earlier morning or later night trips.
This was a great property, very nice and very easy to get around. Highly recommend!
Great stay!
I loved everything except the added parking fee.
Very nice.
Loved it!! Accommodations were wonderful. Very comfortable beds. Workout facility, sauna, steam room, and pools were great. Lots of hiking and mountain biking in the area during the offseason.
Giving it 3 because of some of the staff. My room looks worn. Chipped paint, paint that doesnt match and grimy, bugs in bathroom.. stained carpet. The employees are nice but not overly friendly. The 1 bed condo is big but i dont know if I would spend the points I used to come back. Oh and good luck getting out of the shower and stepping onto a wet floor. Despite having a bath mat last night there wasnt one tonight that was available. Disappointing and underimpressed.
Close enough to downtown for summer activities, right on the mountain for winter fun.
The location presents a significant advantage.
The cleanliness of the room was substandard. We discovered significant unsanitary conditions, particularly upon moving the sofa.
Comfortable and roomy.
We had a wonderful stay at the Steamboat Grand! The location is perfect, with beautiful mountain views and easy access to everything in Steamboat. Our room was clean, spacious, and comfortable, and the pool and hot tubs were a perfect way to relax after a day of exploring. We especially want to thank the amazing staff who made our stay feel so welcoming. Joel at dinner made every meal feel special, Travis at the pool was kind and attentive, and Samara and Will at the front desk and concierge went above and beyond to help us with anything we needed. It truly made a difference in our stay. We loved every moment at the Steamboat Grand and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Steamboat Springs. Thank you for a beautiful stay!
I enjoyed my trip to Steamboat. It was hard to leave. I look forward to returning and staying at The Grand for sure!
I enjoyed it all. The pool could open earlier. I am an early riser! But that is the only improvement I could think of! :)
A very nice older property. Nice pool and spa area. Construction going on right outside our room was noisy and our room was quite small, outdated and an odd configuration. I’m not sure why we were given a room at the farthest end of the hotel adjacent to construction when there were few guests. Staff and restaurant were very nice.
we wouldn’t stay anywhere else!
Fantastic stay for a girls trip!
Clean, bed excellent.
Could not work TV and there were no instructions. Needed more EV stations, preferably a Tesla station.
I love this place
This is an excellent hotel. The staff is amazing. The location is perfect. The amenities are great and I loved the rooms.
Amazing. Everything was great
It was amazing! We would definitely stay here again! The room was huge and very quiet and they had plenty of amenities and easy walking to a lot of different places. But not only that they had a free shuttle that would take you pretty much anywhere downtown.
This picture was out our window in our room!
The restaurant staff was fantastic. The food was delicious. The desk staff was perfect.
Wonderful staff, spacious room, great full kichen. Sofas are extremely hard and not comfortable.
It was beautiful and easy to get around.
It is a little dated.
Awesome
pool is great, very nice rooms
Large room, clean pool and so comfortable bed

What guests love
Areas to consider
Cleanliness
6.5/10Mixed reports: one guest described an odor-related incident and an unexplained cleaning charge (later disputed), though rooms were reportedly cleaned; overall cleanliness concerns lowered this score.
Service
9/10Mostly positive mentions of friendly and helpful staff and guests who praised staff when available, but several service issues (understaffing, unanswered phones) and a very serious, isolated report of rude/unprofessional behavior toward a family with a disabled child — balanced to reflect generally good staff with notable negative incidents.
Location
10/10Very strong: multiple guests praised the fantastic location for outdoor activities and called the location great and convenient.
Room Quality
6.5/10Several guests noted small rooms, lack of seating or desk, mattress on a wooden platform and limited in-room furniture — room quality seen as below expectations for the price.
Amenities
10/10Highly praised: large pool with multiple hot tubs, Pool Bistro, well-provisioned workout room, marketplace and EV charging were called out positively.
Value for Money
6.2/10Negative sentiment about price: guests called rates 'absurd' given room size and amenities, and noted heavy taxes and a resort fee that reduce perceived value.
Food and Beverage
8.5/10Generally positive for Pool Bistro and marketplace coffee/breakfast, but some complaints about limited restaurant choices and a repetitive room-service menu; overall solid but with limited variety.
Overall Experience
8.1/10Mixed overall: strong points include location, pools and amenities and many repeat guests; however, pricing, room size and an isolated but serious service incident temper the overall impression.
