The spa is lovely
Breakfast was odd. No normal breakfast dishes. Room was very dated and you wouldn’t expect that from a champneys. Dust all over the room and carpet hadn’t been cleaned. We also had loud banging from the room upstairs everytime they walked.
The spa area was large and spacious.
Pool was cool and hydrotherapy area was also. No disabled access to the facilities in the spa, was not directed towards changing spaces either as staff didn't seem to know. Single bed was very uncomfortable..little sleep room was satisfactory if a bit tired. I made a complaint and never heard back. Had to travel a fair way to get there...I won't be recommending or returning
Lovely spa facilities.
Room was very basic and dusty. Fan was covered in dust. Bed not very comfortable and breakfast selection was very poor with limited options. Windows were filthy. Noisy room next to lift and stairs hearing doors banging throughout the night.
Great spa - great room

Clean and exactly what is says on the box!
Nothing to dislike
Good facilities
Absolutely awful breakfast
There is not much to say in this regard
The property was extremely dirty, it was un hoovered and full of hair. We asked if the room could be cleaned if we left and came back in an hour, we returned and nothing had changed so we decided to leave as it was getting late and could not stay in a dirty room. The facilities also closed an hour earlier than the “important information” stated I was sent out before our stay.
Convenient location
Room was tatty and musty, bathroom door rotting, stains on carpet, no air conditioning. Restaurant menu has no prices, just supplement charges without showing base price, gave up and drove into town at 9pm just to get food.
Our room was divine Our Italian waiter was amazing. He was attentive and helpful.
Nothing
It is tired, dated & very much in need of refurbishment. Compared to many hotels in the area with spa facilities, this looked its age & felt like a public swimming pool with some extra bubbles. The steam rooms are located in the separate men’s & women’s changing rooms so a couple cannot experience that together. The sauna fits 4 people at a squeeze. The twin beds were squeaky & very uncomfortable. My friends bed had a deep dip in the centre. Guest experience manager was helpful when we provided feedback. We had booked last minute & did not pay much for the single night we stayed (in fact we were given a full refund) but with other options available locally on booking.com I would not return. We witnessed other people at reception having to make complaints about their stay.
Good customer service this time thankyou
The swimming pool and zen atmosphere. All the different places to sit and relax
Beds not hugely comfortable
The location was ok for Ashby de la zouch Plenty of parking spaces, however quite busy
Given a twin room when I booked and specifically asked for a double. They initially couldn’t find my booking and when they realised it was through booking.com rather than direct I’m guessing I was given a sub standard room. The room was dirty, and dated, and directly outside an open sewerage/waste drain that smelled. The spa/gym facilities have time restrictions for guests staying at the hotel. Staff need customer service training, the majority are very young and don’t look like they want to be there.
Spa facilities were a bonus for a late booking, just wanting a room near to arboretum for a service - so not planning to book a hotel with spa. Got to use spa for about two hours on arrival day and could have used on morning of leaving but needed to attend ceremony so timetable. Breakfast was excellent, staff were lovely. Paid for restaurant dinner on evening - long wait for service, food OK but no outstanding, young lady server was very polite but manager did apologise for slow service noting waitress was a 'little overwhelmed' - not sure that is something to share, perhaps just apology would have sufficed. Couple nearby did get a discount as drinks did not arrive till main course well underway. Just too few staff generally I would say.
See above - wrong box. Also room not good - possibly as late cheaper booking via booking.com. Room lovely but bathroom poor, old tap type shower was hopeless and not particularly clean. Bath inset handles were rusty underneath - would not have had a bath here. Mainly - sanitary product (wrapped in its plastic purple wrap - in the bathroom bin when I used it on morning of leaving. Mentioned to reception on way out and said they would speak to housekeeping - but not ideal, obviously not emptied when room was prepped.
Loved the isolation and quiet
Check in at 3 but room not ready until well past 4 almost 5 because they were quite busy
Good variation at breakfast and lunchtime very clean restaurant
Poor customer service at check in but was expertly resolved by the manager
A lovely surprise as booked at the last minute in desperation! Lovely room, good leisure facilities, excellent restaurants & stunning healthy breakfast.

We had the most amazing time at Champneys!! This was our first time of visiting and we will be definitely returning. Harry behind the bar made us feel really welcome and was very accommodating. The premises were clean and tidy, bedroom was comfortable and clean and we had a well rested sleep. We stayed for 2 nights and both nights Massimo & Catrina were amazing. They made such a special effort to ensure we were comfortable and made the stay memorable. We have been thoroughly impressed by Champneys and look forward to our next retreat. Thank you
Myself and Mum are currently at Springs and have had such a wonderful trip so far. We have just been for our evening meal and was served by Catrina and Massimo, who went above and beyond to ensure my food intolerances were caterered to, checking every course and advising on what is best. I felt so at ease and not like a problem whatsoever, Massimo was so patient when ordering and Catrina was so kind and found me my favourite pudding from lunch to have, as the other options contained gluten. The meal was absolutely fabulous, the spa is lovely, and our room in the hotel has a beautiful view. I am thoroughly enjoying my stay and Catrina and Massimo are prime examples of excellence in every way. Thank you both so much! x
It was lovely, we had a lot of trouble booking so were pleased to arrive. The greeting from the receptionist Meg could have been warmer. The treatments were nice with Janet & Charlie. Wethought the bed rooms were a little tired looking and the food was nice but exactly the same choice for three days, it would have been nice to change it a little. The pool was a little cold. The bikes were in poor condition but we managed to get out. Thank you
We are members of Springs and love going there. Recent we had lunch at Springs, and it was lovely. Sasima, a staff member, in the cafe and restaurant, was brilly. Sasima is always so kind and attentive, whilst being very efficient. She is a brilliant ambassador for Springs Lesley Salter
1. Dust in the loos and in the womens changing room. Didn't feel clean at all!! 2. The very loud music in Beauty room so we couldn't relax at all, felt like we were next to a night club and staff agreed. 3. Lunch was cheap and tasteless and we spent most of my time waiting or asking staff to top everything up! Everyone was complaining, if you have timed seating there should be adequate food. Everyone was frustrated. 4. Get magnetic curtains to get rid of the flies!!or prevent them coming in. This was awful and frustrating whilst trying to eat!! 5. Sun loungers need a deep clean dirty and mouldy!! 6. Gym treadmill scorched my face no blinds on window. 7. No real atmosphere staff didn't really want to be there and didn't seem to really care. Lots of other people there felt the same! Lack of customer service. 8. The place is in desperate need of a reno its so grimy in places, esp the womens showers that had a awful smell. On a positive note, the ladies that game us a pedicure were lovely Anais and Pam. One lady in the coffee shop, was great. Won't be going back there. Save your money and go to a nicer place.
Had a lovely mother/daughter day at the Springs Spa. Starting with a fabulous facial with a beautiful lady, Lana. She was so lovely and easy to talk with, yes I’m a talker during treatments 🤣. Such a great experience and I would definitely recommend her and any of the other treatments she covers, which is most of them! .. Would book with Lana again like a shot, plus we got a full sized scrub at the end as part of the day package.. bonus!
Bit of a hole. Not the best service, lunch was in a pokey corner behind the bar. No shared sauna to spend time with my husband. Sunbed cushions very stained. Does not live up to the Champney's brand name. Completely dissapointed for a special anniversary treat.
Lana was a brilliant therapist. Very professional, made me feel comfortable and listened to during my treatment without being intrusive in any way. Would recommend her!
Really enjoyed the facial, calighie was really nice and very good at the treatment
Great receptionist! Helpful! And knowledgeable!!! Rooms were large however attention to detail was poor… no spoon… hair on bath and stuff squirted down tiles( looked like cleaning products?) dirty…. No water in the room either. Spa was ok, lots of wet towels left on the cosy seats ( there were signs to ask customers not to do this!) No water cups around in pool/ toilet area. There were lots of nice places to sit in and out. The older the staff the better their customer care!!! Sorry younger people but your smiles and customer care were almost absent! We ordered wine… you gave us an opened bottle!!! With wine missing!!! There were issues with the menu and what they did have/didnt have. When we ordered steak we were told? (Not asked!) ‘ you will be getting it with red wine sauce ( it was advertised with peppercorn sauce) We had to ask for butter for the bread.. the list went on. The beef ragu represented a child’s portion and it had pasta twists! ? When we asked about the type of pasta it should have… we were told they had run out! Had we known we could have looked at another choice. Service was slow… despite it being quiet when we arrived. We had to take our desert be we were late to watch the football. The cheese board was not great! It had dry cheese… a pot of grapes and a random blueberry! There were 4 small crackers . There was a helpful staff member! Josh! Thank you …
Facilities were tired and not working. Also the loungers by the pool were dirty and the steam room water pipe did not even work. Breakfast was very low standard. The advertising should highlight that it is only continental as there was no cooked breakfast. Dinner was cold and could have been straight out of the microwave. Really disappointed.
Disappointed with the experience and cannot believe how much the Champany standard has dropped.
Lovely spa day with friendly staff, great treatment from Caleigh, and a relaxing atmosphere. Would definitely visit again
It was clean and tidy enough, it had all the facilities we needed including good outdoor space in the sunshine.
Amazing experience at Champneys Spings room was spacious and clean and the spa was fabulous especially the hydra pool . Breakfast was also as good as we hoped for with plenty of selections and staff so friendly will definitely be back
Gym and pool
No cold water options or showers beside the sauna ? Found the pressure/ threat that key had to be returned by 10am or else would be charged a little too intense !!
Service was exllent, Catrina in the restaurant was just a gem very professional. Every other area was good Service
Just had a lovely relaxing two night stay, thank you. I wanted to say a huge thank you in particular to Catrina in the restaurant who was incredibly friendly, always remembered my name, was very welcoming to all guests and really cared about the guests and their comfort whilst visiting the restaurant. All of the restaurant staff I met were friendly and efficient. Special mention to Massimo who went out of his way to ensure my gluten free allergy was catered for, nothing was too much trouble and it really is appreciated, thank you. They are both an absolute asset to Champneys Springs and I would definitely visit again! :)
Excellent swimming pool and facilities, comfortable bed with plenty of tea and fresh milk. The staff were also excellent.

The staff were exceptional. They were very kind and sorted the small things that made such a difference. They were extremely flexible with my room and booking in late due to circumstances beyond my control. Thank you.

Fantastic stay at champnys spring thoroughly, enjoyed and needed. The location was lovely, surrounded by countryside. The atmosphere of the spa was also very friendly it made me feel very relaxed and refreshed. My treatment was one of the best I have ever had in a long time with the therapist Charlie. I had a champnyes massage which was reasonably priced for the quality. I only staying for the day with my mother for a birthday treat and was very happy with our little get away will return in the future.

I plan to say: We had a lovely, relaxing stay. The spa was quite basic, but the outdoor loungers were perfect for relaxing in the sun, with plenty of shade available. It was a shame there wasn’t an outdoor pool or jacuzzi, especially as there seems to be space for one. The rooms were clean, the beds were comfortable, and the bathroom was spotless. The food was good, but the standout was the exceptional service from Massimo and Catrina. They were always smiling, and Catrina went above and beyond to cater for my friend’s gluten intolerance. The live evening singer was fantastic, and the surrounding area is beautiful for walks. Overall, a relaxing stay with a great jacuzzi (see pic) and pool, and outstanding staff - who deserve air conditioning and a summer uniform given the heatwave!!
The best massage treatment by Lana from the Ukraine. Thank you for listening. Your wealth of experience certainly shows in the treatments you give.
I’ll start by saying the food is amazing, so much choice and very tasty. The choice of drinks not so good. They’ve stopped selling beer/cider, and my partner would have loved an ice cold one on what has been the hottest day so far this year. The soft drinks are my bug bear because their version of Coca Cola is very unpleasant, and as I don’t drink I would love to have a nice cold coke. It seems strange that for health reasons they stopped selling beer, yet I could buy a bottle of wine and drink it all had I wanted to. We have been here quite a few times and I feel that the place is looking a bit dated and a little worse for wear. It could do with a spruce up and a little updating in areas. The seat covers for the outside recliners are disgustingly marked, and it’s things like this that mark it down just a little. The food quality, and the friendly staff mean it’s only lost one star, but I think it needs money spending on it, however I’m sure when they do that then the prices will massively increase as they won’t want the expense eating into company profits!
Lovely room
Me and my friend had a spa day here to take some time to relax. I had been before but it was my friends first time at champneys. We absolutely loved it. There’s a stream room and sauna in each of the changing rooms and a mixed sauna in the main pool room along with jacuzzi’s and an indoor swimming pool. The staff are amazing and very friendly especially catrina over at the restaurant she remembered me and my friends name and said hello every time she saw us which boost our experience massively. She was an absolute delight! Very bright and smiley she also check in making sure we had a great experience. Will definitely be returning again :)!!
Not a lot
Where to start with this question. The overall vibe of this establishment is that its a health club with rooms. I noticed that if you had limited mobility this was not the place for you. Whilst there was a wheelchair ramp there were also a great number of stairs to negotiate especially if you wished to access the spa service floor, although there was some kind of mystery route you could take if you couldn't take the stairs. Like many health clubs they cater mainly for day members with paying hotel guests seeming to take a back seat. The pool area was disability unfriendly & even for fit people the loungers were so low to the floor that you may as well just lay a towel on the tiles & lay on that. There were beds which were more comfortable but limited in number. The jacuzzi area had a limit on how many people could get in which is difficult if there is a constant stream of day members, when you did get into it I didn't find it relaxing at all. The steam and sauna facilities in the respective changing areas were small. Overall not worth the additional cost. The room was basic and no walk in shower - apparently the number of disabled friendly rooms are very limited. The overall feel of the building reminded me of a college accommodation not an established quality hotel a view reinforced when the buckets appeared to catch water from a leaking ceiling. The restaurant menu was limited & thank god I wasn't there for any length of time because I would have struggled to choose something different each evening & it would have been nice to have been informed that the breakfast menu was vegetarian only but I did learn that there is a contamination risk by mixing eggs with mushrooms so I guess everyday is a school day. The only good experience was the spa treatment which was professional but you can get the same for 50% less from your local beauty specialist. I thought the Champney's brand meant quality but I was disappointed to find out...
We’ve been coming here for 2 decades now and we’ve never ever had anything but the best experience - the vibe there is one of instant relaxation. We recognise most of the staff, who have been there for a long time (always a good sign!) - Carol is wonderful, we catch up every time we see her and she’s always so welcoming and friendly. Food is always on point, spa facilities are lovely, wouldn’t stay at any other spa - may Champneys Springs continue to be our 6 monthly pilgrimage for as long as possible! Keep up the good work folks, you’ve got an atmosphere no other spa I’ve tried has.
Everything
Easily accessed for my friend and I. Facilities were good and cocktail lounge, restaurant and gym all very tasteful and modern. Great breakfast offer.
Hallways and main lobby look a little dated.
Nothing
Facilities were poor, pool/hot tub cold. Steam room is in the changing rooms so this isnt couple friendly. We didnt get to use them. Bedroom was awful, broken shower, window. Twin beds pushed together not even same height and so low to the floor. Bin in bathroom had not been emptied. No main light in bedr9om just lamps so poor lighting to get ready.. beyond dissapointed. Bar was xlosed by 11pm.. no staff around anywahere. Not even reception in evening. Room service stops at 9.30. Its all poor. Breakfast was awful too.
Had a lovely time here, Oriel was so helpful and looked after us really well when we wanted to extend our stay and had lots of questions. She was very friendly and provided excellent customer service. I also had a massage treatment with Lana which was phenomenal, she made me feel so comfortable and was so kind and professional, the massage was brilliant. We only spent 24 hours here but came away feeling like we’d been on holiday!
Thank you to Holly on the cafe bar. So friendly and helpful when we weren't sure what to choose. Our lovely chat made our evening 😍
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Another Perfect Stay at Champneys Springs I arrived on Sunday afternoon to the warmest of welcomes from all the staff. A very special mention goes to Carol Harvey, the fantastic manager who runs Champneys Springs so brilliantly. Her leadership is reflected throughout the resort, and it's easy to see why the atmosphere is so welcoming and professional. Champneys Springs truly feels like my second home. I would also like to give a very special mention to Michelle. She is such a wonderful, beautiful person, both inside and out. From the moment I arrived, she made me feel genuinely welcomed and valued. Nothing is ever too much trouble for her, and she always goes out of her way to help with a smile. Michelle's kindness, professionalism and caring nature shine through in everything she does. She is a true credit to Champneys, and I always look forward to seeing her. It was also lovely to meet HJ, a fantastic new addition to the team. One of the real highlights of my stay was seeing Sasima, who runs the café. She is one of the kindest, most genuine people you could ever wish to meet. She came over to give me a lovely cuddle, which made me feel so welcome. Her warmth and caring personality create such a happy atmosphere, and it's clear how much she cares about both her team and the guests. She has also done a wonderful job mentoring Holly. The last time I visited, Holly was still quite new, but she has blossomed into a confident, friendly and capable member of the team—a real credit to Sasima's guidance and encouragement. I also had an amazing massage with Janet, who was absolutely superb. It was one of the best treatments I've had and left me feeling completely relaxed and rejuvenated. Lucy and Bryany in the restaurant were fantastic, always friendly, attentive and professional, making every meal a pleasure. Peter and Rob were fabulous too, always cheerful, helpful and a pleasure to chat to. A heartfelt thank you to everyone at Champneys Springs. Every member of the team goes above and beyond to make guests feel special. Your kindness, professionalism and genuine care are what make Champneys Springs such an exceptional place to visit. I always leave feeling refreshed, looked after and already looking forward to my next stay. Thank you all for another unforgettable experience. I can't wait to return!⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
I have visited Champneys Spings on many occasions, both for spa days and spa stays. This latest visit was a 3 night spa break with my good friend. Our package included a different spa treatment for each day. We had an amazing time and loved our treatments, which were facials, pedicures and whole body cocoon treatments. The staff at Springs are amazing and always so friendly. They are so accommodating too. We were very late checking in on the first day and wanted to rearrange our treatments so we could relax. This was no problem for them. I met Peter, the Guest Relations Manager for the first time and thanked him for some other changes he made for us. As always the food was amazing with lots of choice. I have been to the other Champneys resorts such as Tring and Henlow, but always find myself wanting to go back to Springs. The facilities are fantastic including a state of the art gym and a huge hydro pool to relax in. The ladies day guest changing rooms, behind Reception, are worth making the trip to Springs to see and use! The only thing I would love to see at Springs are the waterbeds, which both Tring and Henlow have. I am hoping this will come at some point. Some outdoor hydro pools or jacuzzis would be wonderful for the warmer months there too. It is still my favourite though and I am already planning my next trip back to Springs!
Absolutely love Champneys Springs. We visit every 6 months and always have a really relaxing time . This time was no different apart from we chose to stay overnight . I had a fabulous massage from Lena which was just what I needed . She was so lovely and I felt so relaxed afterwards. All of our meals were absolutely delicious and the service excellent. Harry was brilliant and really great at recommending the best things to eat . Overall , a wonderful time .
Excellent parking and lovely grounds, on first impression it looks like a good quality hotel but many areas were dated. Swimming pool and other facilities around were excellent. My evening dinner was on the whole ok, but the starter of a mozzarella salad was served in an extremely hot bowl. Mentioned to staff but no apology or offer to change.
Room was very dated and not very clean. Bathroom was dated with mould in many areas, no shower curtain for shower above the bath so floor flooded.
Me and my friend visited for a spa afternoon after having a quick tour we were greeted at the fitness desk by Millie. She was so welcoming and informative of everything about our stay, she was very friendly and helpful. She made our experience!!
Very nice location, property and very helpful staff.
No air-con in the room, the fan was broken. the tv remote was very unresponsive, probably flat battery...
Rooms were bit dirty terrible bed
The rooms let it down
Room was nice and staff was lovely
Beautiful relaxing location between the willow trees. Shout out to Lana who is an exceptional therapist and very knowledgeable about skin conditions. She gave the best facial ever.
Had an amazing day at the springs, the service, food and facilities were top notch, treatment by Lana was outstanding, she is an asset to the spa
I came here Sunday with a friend for an evening spa, was lovely. I had already booked a spa day, with treatment and lunch, so excited to be back within 2 days Arrived at 10 and was told of complimentary breakfast bits, which was a nice surprise and very yummy. Had a swim, & hydro pool both of which were lovely. Went into alcove to read for a while. All 4 of the seating area had towels on. Signage says don't leave your towels/robes etc on the seats if not using, so I moved one set and placed them at the side of the seat I was using. On leaving the area I put the towels back onto the seat. Returned to changing room, as that is how you exit the swimming area and was planning on getting a coffee before my much anticipated facial. I was immediately accosted by a hysterical woman who accused me of stealing her mother's robe. Bear in mind these are robes that the spa provides to all guests to use during their stay. Why would anyone need to steal someone else's? She then, screaming in my face, in front of everyone in the changing room, said her mother's glasses were in the pocket. I showed her there was nothing in the pockets of the robe I was wearing. She then, unbelievably said, that her mother's charge card (the paper you use to sign for tea/coffee etc) was also in the pocket, so this was much more serious. I took my robe off and handed it to her, there was nothing in any pockets. I offered her the opportunity to search my tote bag, which I had with me throughout the morning. She continued to berate me, saying I "threw" their stuff on the floor. I pointed out the signage and the fact their are hooks all around the area to hand ones robes, not leave them on the seats and also that I didn't "throw" them and I put them back when I left. I then said I was going to reception to report the matter. She followed me. When I was explaining things, she kept shouting over me. Eventually a manager took us to one side, I explained the situation. He said it's best to ask staff to move other people's towels off seats. OK but the signage didn't state that and other than the man conducting a aqua fit class, there were no staff about. I reiterated the offer to search my tote bag, which the manager declined. He said he would ask housekeeping to check for the woman's missing glasses and robe. He gave me a new robe as I had given mine to this hysterical woman to search and I left. I went up for my treatment but was so upset by events that I left after 15 mins (was a 50 min treatment) and just went home. I didn't have lunch and so a whole day spa lasted 2 hours and 15 mins. I have sympathy with anyone who has lost their glasses as I use glasses all day every day, but to accuse someone of theft in such a horrid, public manners, is unacceptable. Why would I want some old woman's prescription glasses? It's crazy. I am extremely distressed by today's events and I didn't get the relaxing experience I paid for. The manager was really nice and did his best to resolve issues, so I don't blame the spa team at all. I hope the lady finds her glasses and that her hysterical daughter reflects upon her behaviour. UPDATE: I spoke on the phone to the manager, who confirmed that the woman had found her mother's glasses, which I am pleased about. However, my day was completely ruined and I paid a lot of money for a couple of hours spa, no lunch and a 15min facial and a deeply distressing situation that was not of my making.
Excellent stay, beautiful space, rooms and spa facilities
Not much we throughly enjoyed our stay
As usual, I had a wonderful time. The staff here are so friendly and lovely. Maybe being midlanders helps! The classes here are amazing and the thalassotherapy pool is wonderful for those, like me, that need to do physio exercises. The saunas and steam rooms are great. The gym is lovely and cool in this heat. The food is very good too - especially the evening meals. I love my huge bed and fancy coffee maker and the Elemis soaps, shampoos etc. Great selection of treatments too. Springs is a little cheaper than the southern spas but is just as good.
Excellent location and spa with excellent facilities.
Rooms were a bit tired detracting from luxury feel
The flexibility of using the facilities after 5 and before 10am. I never felt rushed.
The shower in the room didnt work and there was only 2 coat hangers out kf 5 that held clothes in place. Both were reported on the 1st morning but nothing changed and no explanation or apology was given. I was also in a room without a terrace or balcony in the heat it would have been lkvely to sit outside in the evening. There appeared to be lots of vacant rooms with this facility
The grounds and spa were beautiful , the rooms comfy , good breakfast and very helpful and friendly staff
The bathrooms were clean overall but a bit old and the shower was not in a great nick
I thoroughly enjoyed my spa day and had a wonderful experience. I would love to visit again, Thank you once again for making my first spa day so enjoyable
The property was beautiful and the spa facilities were excellent- I even got a free hand massage in the garden. The food was delicious.
The bathroom was quite dated. Most of the staff were very friendly and helpful, except the lady who checked us in - she was quite unfriendly and didn’t provide us with robes, offer to show us the facilities or really make us feel welcome (other reception staff were so welcoming).
We spent nearly £1k over a weekend, but it was only worth a third of that. The rooms and much of the property are very tired. The evening food was very mediocre, mostly overcooked, burnt or tasteless. And two members of the front of house team were rude and dismissive (one even claiming she'd worked there for 20 years, no wonder!). The positives were – the rest of the team outside those two were lovely, friendly and just generally eager to help. The treatments were also good. Definitely wouldn't go again, and also I worry about visiting any of the other champneys now if this is the standard.
We were able to use the pool, sauna and steam room, we were given robes and flip flops ., we were given the option to buy a return voucher at a reduced rate.
Thalassotherapy pool was not open
I can’t recommend Champneys Springs highly enough, all the staff are helpful and friendly and made me feel comfortable being on my own and I was very well looked after . The resort is spotless and has a very relaxing atmosphere . The food is excellent in both restaurants and the evening menu had a fabulous choice of healthy, delicious dishes. I enjoyed time in the pool and sauna as well as having a wonderful Japanese head spa treatment with Abbey which I can highly recommend. I also enjoyed walking round the beautiful grounds and catching up on some much needed sleep in the lounge or my wonderfully quiet bedroom. I will definitely be returning later in the year as the benefits of being there as really recharged my batteries.
The hydro pool
Almost everything
Window in my room didn't close fully or lock.
Staff really helpful. Totally relaxed environment. Clean room. Spotless swimming pool and spa facilitoesz Amazing gym
Staff are polite. Hotel is clean.
Late 5pm check in & 10am check out. Not letting us use the spa or get a coffe after check out. We were told we have to pay £30 each to use the cafe. Nonesense. 7 star hotel in dubai dont give you this sort of rubbish. JACCUZI was out of order as well.
Spa facilities were nice to have
The breakfast was poor…. No nice coffees, not very good selection of food.
I loved it

Massimo & Catrina gave absolutely stunning service. What an outstanding couple of staff. Went the extra mile & made us feel so welcome. We had the best dinner! X
Such a lovely day and evening, the perfect setting in the sunshine. We were served during the day and throughout our meal by Catrina and Massimo who were so super friendly, warm and kind. Lovely food and drinks. Would recommend.
Lovely stay! Fantastic service, especially by Catrina who was charming, very attentive and nothing was too much trouble. We will be back again!
What a wonderful place! We had such a great time, the facilities are outstanding and the overall service is just impeccable! Everyone was so welcoming and professional which enhanced our experience… no matter how good the facilities… nothing beats feeling welcomed and treated with kindness. A special thank you to both Catrina and Massimo: your professionalism, smiles, welcoming and helpful demeanour, and general warmth has been the cherry on top and an incentive for us to wanting to come back again! Thank you so much! ☺️ Monica
Had a great weekend. The staff in the restaurant work really hard but a special mention has to go to Kristina. Kristina is a credit to the spa, service goes above and beyond and she really cares about making a difference. The room was lovely and my menopause massage by Janet was one of the best massages I have experienced. I would love to see an option of boiled or mash potatoes rather than wedges and a cod dish. Reception staff were also fab. Cannot wait to go back
The staff were all pleasant and helpful eg the manager Pete helped me get out of my car. I am disabled with arthritic knees Lovely food and good choice buffets
My husband slipped getting out of the bath and burnt his right elbow on the heated rail. We suggested to reception that a grab rail should be fitted
We often stay at Champneys when working in Ashby, I enjoy using the gym & swimming pool. Staff are always friendly & helpful, especially Catrina.
I recently stayed at Springs Champneys for my first ever solo trip, and I honestly had the most relaxing and enjoyable experience. I stayed for two nights, booked through Vitality, and the value was incredible considering all meals, spa facilities, and accommodation were included. As someone who is gluten intolerant, travelling and eating somewhere unfamiliar can feel quite nerve-wracking, but Massimo and Catrina were absolutely amazing throughout my stay. They genuinely went above and beyond to make me feel comfortable, looked after, and welcome. After checking whether I liked chocolate, Massimo even brought me a chocolate ganache dessert from the evening menu during the buffet lunch, which was such a thoughtful and personalised touch. Having never even eaten out alone before this trip, it was lovely to chat with them and feel so at ease. The food throughout my stay was excellent, and I was really impressed with the number of gluten free options available. The allergens menu was very clear, and the chefs were happy to adapt dishes where needed. On the first evening I had the oyster mushroom taco, monkfish curry, and salted caramel panna cotta, and on the second evening I enjoyed the crab and prawn summer rolls, ricotta stuffed courgette, and passion fruit parfait - all delicious. The breakfast and lunch buffets were also fantastic, with plenty of choice and both hot and cold options that were frequently replenished. I especially appreciated the individual gluten free Schär cereal packets alongside the additional fruits, nuts, and muesli options. I really wish more restaurants catered for food intolerances in the thoughtful way they do here. It’s not a choice, and it was such a relief not to feel awkward or difficult for asking questions about food. I’m genuinely grateful for the care and attention shown by the staff, which allowed me to completely relax and enjoy my stay. One of my favourite things about the resort was how peaceful and tranquil it felt. It never seemed overcrowded, so whether I wanted to swim, use the sauna and steam room, or sit by the ponds after a walk and read a book, there was always space to unwind quietly. I also tried several fitness classes during my stay and had such a fun time. The classes felt welcoming regardless of fitness level and were a great opportunity to try something new. I did yoga, dance fitness, aqua fit, and even hired a bike to cycle towards the lovely village of Packington. My room was clean, comfortable, and overlooked the beautiful, well-kept gardens. The teas and Elemis toiletries provided were also a lovely touch. This is actually the Champneys resort furthest from where I live, but I would absolutely return because the staff made the whole experience feel so special.
Gym
Unable to check in until 17:00 Forced to have a set dinner menu No beer served in the bar
Had a great time soaking up the sun as well as using the wonderful facilities at Champneys. Carol, Catrina, Massimo and the rest of the team provided an excellent service. Thank you to Sharon who gave me a pedicure and Alexia who gave me a very relaxing back massage. My room was clean and comfortable with a spectacular view. The food was healthy and delicious! All in all, a very special weekend and one to remember. Already have my return voucher!
Extreme value for money, beautiful experience
We have booked for our 10 years anniversary week. Staff is lovely they went out of their way to make it special for us. Catrina and Massimo have looked after us so well. Food service is 5 star and thy catered all our requirements. They even upgraded us and made it special one evening for us. Both are very friendly and made is amazing experience for us. But thank you to both and Champneys for that.
The best part about our stay was Catrina & Massimo….what a duo!!! The service was exceptional and the food matched the service. Massimo was extremely friendly and catered to all our needs. Catrinas was very welcoming and her knowledge on wine was informative . The made our restaurant visit one to remember and would highly recommend to friends based on those two members of staff . Thank you Rosie & Fraser
I booked the pedicure service at Champneys Springs thinking this has to be something really impressive for £65… Err… no! Take a look at the photos - cuticle work is pretty awful, the nail polish is bubbly and uneven and I receive much better treatment at beauty salons for half the price. Pretty gutted, I’ll have to have this re-done somewhere else asap.
Lovely evening meal for our anniversary- Catrina was a fabulous host and made it extra special for us.
