Bar falling apart. Cleanness should be improve not only outside but also inside. Water from shower was getting all over the bathroom ( also on the toilet )

Plutôt bien placé ! Et hôtes sympa, avec un super petit déjeuné !

La chambre est relativement vétuste, notamment la climatisation, le drap housse n'était pas adapté et quelques petits détails comme cela qui ne correspondent pas bien au prix affiché je trouve.

I had a wonderful stay at this hotel in Sri Lanka. The owner was exceptionally kind, welcoming, and personally ensured that everything was comfortable throughout my stay. The staff were equally warm, attentive, and always ready to help with a smile. Their hospitality truly made the experience special. The place felt safe, well-managed, and very homely. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a pleasant and memorable stay.

The hotel had a fantastic location right on a quiet beach. The staff were really helpful and friendly. Breakfast was delicious. Very good value for money.

Our room had a drain outside which attracted flies. The room felt damp after a few days.

Veľmi pekný hotel, výborné jedlo, veľmi milý a priateľský personál, skvelá lokalita s výhľadom na pláž. Celkovo sme boli so všetkým spokojný a odporúčame každému.

V blízkosti ubytovania sa nachádza kanalizácia/ odtok, ktorý občas zapácha a kazí celkový dojem. Vhodne zvolené miesto v reštaurácii túto vadu nepociťuje.

It’s a fantastic location, right next to the beach. Great place to surf. The staff were amazing and very welcoming. When we first arrived to the room, the air con didn’t work well and they kindly moved us to a different room. Beautiful food. The staff looked after us well. The room was clean and comfortable. The bathroom was great, even had hot water. We will definitely come back!

Tolle Lage direkt am Strand. Sehr nettes Personal, superleckeres Frühstück und -Kompliment an die Küche- sehr feines Abendessen. Ein Wohlfühl-Platz! Gerne wieder.

Precis vid stranden. Mycket trevlig och serviceinriktad personal. Fina rum i bra storlek med utsikt över havet och ljudet av vågornas skvalp. God mat i restaurangen.

Det enda vi har att anmärka på är att duschen inte funkade som den skulle och det dåliga fallet mot avlopp gjorde att det blev vatten på hela golvet.

Väga mõnus, puhas, pikk rannajoon. Toidud olid head ja hinnasuhe hea. Rand lainerohke pikalt madal vesi surfaritele meelispaik. Toas konditsioneer, külmkapp, suurepärane vaade.

It’s right on the beach, quite away from the road so no traffic noise, only the waves!

Internet kept cutting out, do bring data if you need to use the internet.

The room overlooking the ocean was beautiful, the team is lovely and caring and the breakfast was very good too.

Property needs renovation. Bathroom needs renovation and ventilation. Shower didn’t work good. Water pressure was low.

Habe 5 Tage gebucht und bin ca 1 Monat geblieben. Blick vom Balkon und vom Bett auf‘s Meer, sehr nettes Personal, sauber, gutes Essen…

Quarto bastante espaçoso, com varanda. Boa localização.

Wir haben jede Minute genossen! Unglaublich nettes Personal. Die Jungs haben sich so wunderbar auch um unsere Kinder gekümmert, mit ihnen gespielt, das Baby gehalten wenn wir gegessen haben, und uns jeden Wunsch erfüllt. Der super Koch ist auf individuelle Wünsche eingegangen und hat uns unser Lieblingsessen sogar bei Abreise noch to go gepackt. In dem großen Bett konnten wir zu viert schlafen. Insgesamt eine tolle Erfahrung!

We had such a wonderful and relaxing stay at this resort. The staff were incredibly kind, respectful, and always ready to help with a smile. Everyone working there made us feel so welcome and comfortable you can really see that they care about their guests. A very special thank you to Chanaka, who was always so attentive, friendly, and had a big smile on his face every day. He truly made our stay extra special. The location is amazing!!! Right by the sea, peaceful and quiet, yet still very close to the city. The rooms were clean and beautiful, with a comfortable bed and good air conditioning. The price-performance ratio was excellent for what you get, it’s really great value! We would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a relaxing stay by the beach with kind-hearted people and a wonderful atmosphere. 🌴💛

Majitel byl opravdu milý a snažil se nám ve všem vyjít vstříc. Ubytování je na krásném místě na pláži s černým pískem a i když se tam nedalo v září koupat, místo působilo krásně. Byl tam stín palem a lehátka. Pokoj byl opravdu čistý a hygienický a za celou dobu se tam neobjevil ani jeden hmyz. Uvařili jídlo a vyprali prádlo. Snídaně byly nejlepší, čerstvé ovoce, čerstvý koktejl, a jídlo na požádání (my jsme měli vejce, toasty, solené máslo a džem)

Klimatizace nebyla moc výkonná, v koupelně nejde zavřít okénko, a tak tam v noci lezli ještěrky. Místo je trochu odlehlé a nezobrazuje se v pickme ani uberu, a tak jsme řidiče naváděli my a nasedali u hlavní silnice. Jídlo bylo trochu dražší než jinde, ale zase přímo na pláži a majitel nám připravil co jsme chtěli i mimo sezónu, i když pro suroviny musel zajet, tak nám to nevadilo.

Helpful staff, Villa itself is fine, rooms smaler but fine, newly reconstructed bathroom with shower in every room. Breakfast at the beach is fine. Once we had nice company of monkey family of circa 15 apes all ages at the breakfast on the way around and across us.

Surrounding is terrible either slum or construction work. Locals say there was some goverment ordered destruction of probably ilegal buildings construction at the beach ( btw can be seen on you tube) And we come off-season so no surfing at the beach (we went to Weligama bay everyday and it was perfect but 40 minutes drive one way)

Janneke our host was the kindest guy and along with his family was outstanding. The hotel is right on the beach and in a peaceful beautiful spot.

The breakfast is delicious. Amazing platter of fruit and fresh juice. Omelette, toast and tea. With a view out to sea. Could sit there all day looking at the view. Staff are very helpful and can organise tuk tuk or transport. Will be back it is amazing.

Fantastic location, right on the beach. Rooms were a good size, modern bathroom. Very clean. Good food and drinks available, wonderful staff, always available, nothing too much trouble - especially Janaka the manager. Very quiet and peaceful location - popular with surfers.

We stayed at Ocean Breeze in Matara and had such a great experience, even though we had to cut our visit short due to unforeseen circumstances. From the moment we arrived, Janaka completely blew us away. He’s genuinely the sweetest person—always smiling, super hardworking, and just an all-around amazing host. He made sure we were taken care of every step of the way, and his kindness really stuck with us. The room was spacious, clean, and as surfers, we loved the location—it’s right on the beach, so it couldn’t have been more convenient. We really enjoyed our time here, and it was all thanks to Janaka and his amazing hospitality. If you’re in Matara, we’d absolutely recommend staying at Ocean Breeze!

The only thing we’d suggest (as a friendly tip) is maybe adding a foot bath or something similar at the entrance to the rooms. After surfing or walking on the beach, sand would get everywhere in the room, and it would’ve been so handy to have a spot to rinse off before heading inside. That, and a mosquito net!

Perfect food!

Extremely friendly host and stuff. Located directly at black sands beach. Coming here for surfing, swell check from the bed was possible. Food was very tasty. Still a rather quiet and peaceful spot.

Amazing location, clean and fit for purpose room, amazing staff and great food

Love everything nice beach to surf or jump with the waves. The property is beach front, views are amazing, the restaurant is part of the beach. Nice hot shower, AC and comfy bed. Janaka makes a difference, he is a gracious host, attentive and kind. The juices, breakfast and dinner all healthy and delicious. Everything easy here, even accept credit card.

Lovely rooms right in front of the beach. We had food there as well and it was excellent. The host was extremely friendly and always accomodating.

Quiet location, right at a lovely beach, with sunbeds to lie on all day, AMAZING food, most welcoming hosts! If you want to leave the world behind and relax, this is the place hands down!!

Host was incredibly friendly, couldn’t do enough for us; welcome juice, extra sheets in the room, starting breakfast early for us! His hospitality is the best we’ve had in Sri Lanka!

Unfortunately it wasn’t very clean, hundreds of ants in the bathroom, stains on towels and bedding. Location was difficult to find!

Excellent location, very close to the beach and right next to a sea turtle hatchling. Very friendly hosts. Instant switch rooms after the AC in the first wasn’t working.

Outside high-season, there’s not much to do

The room was comfortable and very pleasant. We were just a few metres (4?) from the beach and our window looked out to sea. The bed was comfortable and the air conditioning very effective. The food was great too. The beach was quiet and pleasant. It was the nicest place we’ve stayed at this price point in Sri Lanka. The manager was so helpful and welcoming, he really cared. Good birding not far from the villa. Highly recommended.

Driving my car down the narrow road to the hotel! Quite exciting, but perhaps not for the faint hearted.

Nice and calm place, perfect for family. Staff were vert helpfull and nice.

Some of the sheets and towels were stained but they were clean. The room was very humid and you could smell and feel it when you went in.

Liked the location on the beach and staff were friendly. They ordered a tuk tuk for us and let us keep our drinks from previous shopping in their fridge.

The doors not shutting properly on our deck and the fact there is no shade to sit on the deck.

Great location. Beach front hotel. Nice and calm beach. All day surfing. There are many possibilities for short trips around. Great food. Great staff. Actually, it's one of the best places we have been to during our one month traveling across the island.

Amazing location, right on the beach. Fantastic surf all day long! Staff is super super friendly and they serve an excellent dinner and breakfast at the beach. Also the room was very clean and comfortable. Don’t look any further, this was our favorite guesthouse in Sri Lanka.

The incredibly friendly and gentle manager, all the other staff, the owner who gave us a lift to Galle, the location right on the beachfront, the food, the welcome drink, the beds, the bathroom, the views from the balcony.

Worst place where to stay, there is no hair dryer in hotel. Only one kettle in hotel, which is in terrible condition.Everywhere is ants, refrigerator don’t work normally. The shower works partially, 90% cold water.

The property was at a great location for surfing and hanging out at the beach! Easy walk to nice restaurants and bus stop :) Room was nice, clean, open and fresh! The staff were extremely helpful, friendly and funny! Breakfast was delicious, we were able to leave our bags until we finished surfing even after we checked out which was lovely!

I didn’t understand how to use the shower… but I asked reception and turns out it’s a ME problem as my partner also was able to figure out how to use it haha..

We are a family of 5 and had a six night stay at Ocean Breeze on our way to Australia from France and we couldn't have got luckier. The rooms were simple, clean and comfortable with air-conditioning, white cotton sheets and great showers. The breakfast was incredible every morning with plates full of fresh tropical fruits, plain or spicy omelettes, toast, freshly squeezed juices plus tea and coffee. With an ocean view, chilled surf vibe, a cafe on the beach and local family run restaurant serving divine food we could have quite happily spent the whole time in Matara.

This hotel is right in front of the beach with only 5 nice rooms and the loveliest staff you can imagine. The air-con in our room was working perfectly and silent, the bathroom was modern, clean and with warm water. The homemade breakfast had several options to choose and everything tasted delicious. There are several surf shops, convenience stores and restaurants nearby and Janaka, the manager was always there to help us. We fully enjoyed our stay and can only recommend coming here

The kindness and professionalism of the staff

As others have said the best thing about this guest house is the manager. Janaka is a real gentleman and so accommodating. The property itself is a few metres from the beach, through its beachtop restaurant. The rooms are comfy and clean. The stringhopper breakfast is outstanding

Nothing negative to say. OK if I am really trying to find something it is that the light switches were on the opposite wall to the bed. But really I have nothing bad to say.

Thankfully there was an AC, a good WiFi. and an ok bed to sleep on.

Very poorly cleaned, very bad location with so much labour, noise all around, AC not working properly.

Lovely staff, very friendly and considerate . Room was very clean and comfortable, comfy bed and bedding. Shower was also delightful, after staying in a lot of places that didn’t have hot water, it was nice to have such clean and effective facilities.

The location is a little hard to find and away from the main restaurants and town. I arrived during a storm so I can’t comment on the outdoor facilities. Everything was fine considering the bad weather, the staff were very considerate and wanted to apologise for the weather which caused a power cut; is was not at all their fault and they handled everything superbly and made me feel very comfortable.

We had a great stay at the Ocean breeze hotel! everything was very authentic, clean and the staff is very friendly. It’s possible to have breakfast and dine here and everything is freshly made by the Amma of the house and tastes wonderful. They were very kind to our little daughter and the owner gave us a lift to our next destination. We can only recommend this place :-)

Nothing to complain about

Mr Janaka and the staff were very attentive and kind. I was travelling with my mother and aunt and they were given the 2 downstairs rooms, whilst I had one of the three rooms on the first floor. Every thing about the accommodation was clean and well maintained. The welcome drink on arrival, breakfasts were hearty and the dinner we had was fabulous. Nothing was too much trouble, some refreshing afternoon tea after our touring was just what we needed.

Nothing to do with the property. Unfortunately the beach in front could be better maintained, this doesn’t belong to the property so not much they can do. This issue is the same for many of the beaches I have seen, there is a bit of plastic rubbish about - something that will be corrected soon I hope.

A bit far from mirrissa beach - but great for surf in season

Very friendly, welcoming and accommodating staff, service with a smile :) The food is good and the vibe is nice, great location, right on the beach. A fridge with soft drinks/ beers you can help yourself and pay later, which is great. Good desks in the rooms, in case you need to work. I would stay again. :)

Only a small criticism, but nobody told me about the roof terrace, so only found it at the end of my stay. A slight suggestion, would be to try and tidy up some of the surrounding land between the hotel and the beach, it would make for an improved experience for guests.
