Friendly and helpful staff. Excellent localization.

Die Lage, direkt am Strand ist der Hammer. Mein Zimmer hatte Meerblick - morgens nach dem Aufstehen der Blick auf Palmen und Meer. Besser geht es wirklich nicht. :-) Das Personal ist super super nett, sehr hilfsbereit und erfüllen gerne auch Wünsche der Gäste. Besonders hervorheben möchte ich den Hotelmanager Janaka, der sich um alle Gäste sehr kümmert. Er spricht sehr gut Englisch, was auf Sri Lanka keine Selbstverständlichkeit ist. Das erleichtert die Kommunikation erheblich und erlaubt auch "kompliziertere" Anfragen. Für Wellenreiter eine perfekte Location. Mein Zimmer war eher klein, aber völlig ausreichend mit Wasserkocher und Kühlschrank. Alles sauber und ein funktionales Badezimmer. Ich würde wiederkommen.

Schade, dass der Koch des Restaurants nicht anwesend war, als ich vor Ort war. Somit war das Angebot im Restaurant deutlich reduziert.

Stunning location, very friendly and helpful staff.

Still some maintenance that needed to be done, but we were able to look at the rooftop and see the vision. It will be fantastic when it’s done. Perhaps some of the photos were slightly misleading regarding the rooftop.

Great location next to the beach. Big rooms, bathroom, was basic easy to use shower with hot water Sri Lankan breakfast and dinner cooked by chef Brayan were fantastic. We didn’t have a bad meal and after a week, he knew what we liked All the staff, Janaka, Kavirdu, and Gayan were friendly and helpful, therefore we extended our stay to a week.

The hotel itself is rundown and needs updating.

Заказывали каждый вечер через него рыбу на ужин, креветки и любые пожелания, все свежее готовят на гриле, очень вкусно и бюджетно. В номерах чисто, интернет работает и на пляже. Рядом туристические пляжи Мириса и хирикетия, прямо в отеле можно взять байк в аренду и кататься туда

Manager on the reception desk made for us an upgrade from standart room to superior room with the balcony. It's important when you have kids. All the personnel were very polite and prepared very good breakfasts with a perfect view.

Expected restaurant on the front yard as on picture. Unfortunately it doesn't exist anymore.

Pokój czysty,pościel pachnąca, wygodne łóżko, piękny widok z pokoju na plażę. Możesz leżeć w łóżku i patrzeć na fale.

Из отеля открывается симпатичный вид, расположен на возвышенности. Есть лежаки и пляжная зона. Номер на первом этаже лучше не выбирать, особенно если хочется уединения, потому что все постояльцы и персонал будут ходить под вашими окнами, а вы внутри при открытых шторах как в аквариуме.

Завтрак был не вкусный. На пляже довольно много мусора. Много насекомых, лучше иметь с собой репелленты.

Best beach on the south coast

They messed up our transfer from the airport which was annoying when arriving at 2am. It’s easy to sort one at the airport though.

Personal sehr zuvorkommend. Lage traumhaft 12/10 Punkte. Man fühlt sich hier am schönen sauberen und ruhigen Strand wie im Paradies. Man könnte stundenlang den Surfern und den Wellen zusehen. Auch die angrenzende Strandbar mit super Surflehrer ist sehr zu empfehlen.

Nichts

Das Hotel hat eine Top-Lage direkt am Meer. Dorf Matara ist ca. 15 TukTuk-Minuten entfernt. Das Frühstück wird auf der 3. Etage angeboten und man geniesst eine Top-Aussicht. Die Zimmer waren schön eingerichtet und sind einfach gehalten. Der Manager hat sich überaus Mühe gegeben, dass wir einen tollen Aufenthalt hatten. Lage ist an einem Surfstrand für Anfänger oder leicht darüber. Schwimmen aufgrund höherem Wellengang eher schwierig und empfohlen nur in bestimmten Zonen wegen Unterströmung. Ruhige Unterkunft und Umgebung. Weitere Restaurants am Strand vorhanden. Besonders geschmeckt hat uns das Essen im "The Seascape".

Frühstück war im Vergleich zu unseren anderen Unterkünften eher spärlich. Was aber zubereitet wurde war sehr gut.

We had a pleasant stay overall. The room offers a wonderful sea view, and the terrace is a great spot to relax and enjoy the landscape. The staff were friendly, welcoming, and always ready to help. Breakfast on the rooftop was good paired with an amazing views.

When we first arrived, the room had a strong and unpleasant smell of mold, which was noticeable and affected the initial impression. The location is quite far from the city center and the main sightseeing spots, so getting around requires extra time and taking tuk-tuk. In general, we have a feeling that the hotel is a bit overpriced for what is offered.

Quite run down, no restaurant as described in hotel details but fortunately a couple of beach restaurants near by, no hot water, facilities not as described.

Läget är fantastiskt på en lugn och surfvänliga strand. Det finns ingen restaurang på hotellet men flera bra matställen på stranden. Bra Surfskola och surfbrädor för uthyrning precis nedanför hotellet på stranden.

Det är lite nedgånget och stökigt. Nya ägare har tagit över under hösten. Solstolar är trasiga, utemöbler på gården är inte sittvänliga. Detaljerna saknas. Inga täcken eller tunna filtar till sängen. Låset till ett av våra rum var helt sönder. Det finns en matsal, takterrass och utegård med otrolig potential som inte nyttjas alls. Receptionen var avskalad och inte särskilt inbjudande.

Een mooie ruime kamer. Heerlijk bed. Prachtig uitzicht. Vanaf het strand kan je naar diverse restaurants lopen. Het ontbijt was super lekker. Het personeel is erg vriendelijk en klaar om te helpen. Wij komen zeker terug.

Natural view , perfect place to get lost from the busy world. It's heaven for the surfers but not for regular swim as the waves are too strong.

Limited breakfast option

The personal was very kind and helpful with everything I needed and also took care of the transport. The beach side was so close that I could go anytime I wanted. The room was spacious, bed comfortable, I had toiletries in the room and stable wi-fi. Overall a nice stay.

I had a kettle in the room, but it was not possible to plug it because it had different outlet, so no coffee to make and the outdoors area was probably out of season because no clean beds to lay on outdoors. It was kind of "not maintained". Also on the pictures I saw a social life outdoors so I expected to meet some people, have a drink in the evening and relax, but in reality nothing was happening on the terrasse, probably it wasn´t the season.

Came across on Booking.com and truly was worth the money. Perfect location, spacious and clean rooms with a beautiful sea view, extremely helpful staff (Shami & Madushanka), awesome food! Overall very happy with place! The outdoor restaurant is the perfect place to chill in the evening!

Shamii, Erangia and the team were wonderful! Super helpful and friendly with a cheery good morning. We booked for three days and ended up staying for eighteen! The location is along a lovely residential lane with the hotel tucked in at the end on the beach. It has a beautiful outside bar serving great food and there is also a rooftop restaurant (which we didn't try). Also, the rooms have air conditioning and fridge and there is a private terrace seating looking out to sea. We'll definitely be coming back!!

Very good location and really nice staff. Delicious food and juices. Breakfast was good too and pancakes wonderful. The beach is in front of the hotel. Really good for surfing and also for relaxing. Thanks so much for everything!

Beautiful view from balcony overlooking the sea.

It was expected that guests ordered food via an app on the phone. Not very fair on the older generation who don’t do a lot of technology! After a heated discussion we were given a proper menu 😕

Amazing view to ocean and surfers. Good location, next to beach and surf rental. Beautiful clean beach that was not crowded. Waves are nice for surfing. Perfect if you enjoy the sound of ocean. Can be quite loud. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was basic but good. We liked the place so much that we decided to stay longer.

I had a big room with enormous bathroom and a perfect view on the ocean and beach. They have all you need for a simple stay. Good restaurant, surf equipment/ lessons and a simple breakfast. Next door are some other hotel restaurants if you stay for a longer period.

It appeared that the tv was not working. Information upfront would be appreciated

Great place to be relaxed and enjoy fresh sea food

A gem on the beach, peacefully and quietly located. Delicious fresh food served for breakfast and dinner. We chose a local menu, but western style was also available. The staff was very accommodating and friendly. This was the perfect place to end our busy visit to Sri Lanka and re-energize for our onward journey.

The views from the hotel were breathtaking.

The view from the balcony was stunning, surrounded by palm trees and the sea. The room was very spacious. The rooftop offered a wide panoramic view in every direction, and the restaurant allowed you to enjoy meals while watching the sea. Around the hotel, there were plenty of cozy seating areas or spots to simply lie down by the beach.

Hotel is tired , badly in need of renovation ,many things in our room did not work , the restaurant area is a plain concrete room that needs doing up. if the price had been £40 a night, not £75 it would have been acceptable. .

Location, the view, food, staff, everything! Only 30 minutes to Hirikitiya and Nilwella Beach by tuktuk, which was arranged by hotel for a very good price .

If you are a big fan of massage, like really into it, there are wine geeks, so if you are a massage geek, i would not recommend to go for it in this hotel. It is a pure luck, how it will be made. Out of 10, I have given it 5. My partner has given 6 out of 10.

Nothing to dislike

Hidden gem. Old school Sri Lankan hotel on great surfing beach. Quiet but beautiful. Have been coming here for years. It’s simple but that’s the beauty of the place. You are looked after well. The food is so good. In fact it’s some of the best I ve had on the island. If you want to get away from the hipster surfing crowds this is your place. Empty beach break, under your balcony. No trills. But peaceful. No wonder it’s called top secret

Our room was clean and very comfortable. The view from our balcony was amazing of the beach and ocean. The breakfast was really good and even better from from the restaurant area. The staff were all lovely and helpful. There is a bar and sunbeds on the beach right in front of hotel, beach is nice and quiet and good place to try surfing.

Only draw back to this hotel would be that it is not very close to any restaurants or shops so a bike was needed for getting around. However we enjoyed just chilling out on the quiet beach so not issue for us.

The King room felt spacious, comfortable, and a great view from the balcony. Comfy bed. The kitchen staff wanted to please. Great fruit selection at breakfast. Walking straight onto the beach and playing.

Tired of the same breakfast for 4 mornings and we didn't know that there was a choice of western or Sri Lankan breakfast until our final night, and you can't order on the day, the kitchen need 24hrs notice. We requested a sweep of the room and towel change twice and it didn't happen. With a little more staff training and even one extra staff member, they would elevate the guest experience.

Perfectly located right at the beach. A bit off grid but on the spot. Breakfast and staff were super nice and you will have a great view from their terrace.

A bit overpriced for what you are got. Needs some renovation. Had some mold in the room, which isnt unusual for a location right in the beach, but not really exceptable for that price.

the location is perfect, views of the ocean from the rooms - walk to the beach - 4 lovely guys working the property- the cook is outstanding- great view of the ocean from the restaurant on the top floor

its a bit rock and roll - ironing in the first floor lobby - detergent bottles behind reception area -a bath mat in the bathroom would be nice - the pillows are a bit to big and not fluffly

The view is fantastic, and the secluded location is great. Beach towels and surf board complementary. Good surf.

We had to chase up drinking water each day. The wifi was poor until they gave us our own router before taking it back off us . The breakfast was hit and miss. The hotel is still a worksite and is more hostel than hotel. It was difficult to track down staff at times.

Away from the city and all the restaurants, don’t offer scooters to rent, room was very old (pictures on booking look much better). We find it very overpriced for a lower standard.

Great Location

I booked two deluxe rooms, but they provided one deluxe and one standard double room (very small). But they charged me for two deluxe rooms. No foods are available for dinner. Then we had to go to town for dinner. For breakfast, They charged me additionally for my kid's meal, but I booked for four adults and two kids. (please refer attached booking confirmation email information)Especially if you are a local tourist and it is off-season, simply don't book this property.

Very friendly staff, amazing view of the beach, chilled vibe, would stay again. The food was good, and a reasonable price.

This wouldn't stop me staying again, as overall, I enjoyed my stay, but the way things are managed seemed a little chaotic, and things could be slightly more organized for guests.

The staff was really nice and the were really helpful. The location was a dream. The Breakfast outside was so beautiful - loved it. I got one of the best rooms I think and It was great.

I thinks it‘s a little bit to expensive. You can‘t sit on the beach to relax and if you want to go to Matara - you always have to take a Tuktuk. But there not so many other tourist because the house is in the middle of a housing complex.

Perfect beach hotel! A little off the main road as the name suggests and 24 steps down to the beach from the grounds. All the staff were extremely helpful and friendly. Room and bathroom were clean and had a fridge, safe and mosquito nets. Breakfast was simple but yummy overlooking the Ocean and beach. Surf boards for hire and a pretty private beach to enjoy!
