Great location, relaxing with a choice of 2 pools and steps to the beach which is excellent. The cottages have a partial sea view, with comfortable beds and a nice balcony. We did not have a plunge pool, those that do are closer to the sea. We chose GARDEN ROOM and coffee delivery was chargeable. Staff were all friendly, except 2, and very relaxed approach. Food - it was great not to have a buffet but sometimes the choice was limited and portions small but you can order extra. Good choice of spirits and cocktails. Overall I would say if you’re looking for a totally chilled holiday this is great
Some small downsides to the hotel. The cottages were rustic but somewhat dated. The house wine was poor, you could buy a bottle of wine but we didn’t know this until near the end and with only 1 restaurant food choice was limited. You can access and pay for the independent Sheer Rocks restaurant which is a lovely setting. There are options such as Cliffside for lunch and private dining or pool experiences but these depends on you package or are chargeable . If you’re looking for a totally chilled holiday or on honeymoon this is great, otherwise you need to think of it as a base for exploring the island
Staff were so friendly and the vibe very chilled which together made for a wonderful recharge
Really no negatives
Intimacy
Nothing
Infinity pool and the grounds.
I thought the bungalows were a bit dated.
Love the atmosphere and the staff! Highly recommend staying here if you're looking for a good all inclusive and adult only location. At any one time there are only maximum 130 people staying here. There are plenty of amenities. I never felt like I had to wait for a cabana or a pool to swim in our beach space. The food is delicious! I love that they have a different menu everyday. It might be helpful to some that they had staple food options daily. I can't eat seafood but I had options to choose from everyday. I'm already recommending this location to others!
Bugs biting me but couldn't be helped
Staff was awesome !!
Never enough beach towels resort always ran out of beach towels very stingy . Same with bottled water they never replaced water in the room and when you would ask for it the waster was not cold. When coming off the beach to rinse off you hade to walk on sand again to go to the pool or to the resort really stupid set up same with having to get beach towels.
Thank you so much for this Vacation lovely Cocobay Team :)
The location is fabulous but outside of the resort there’s not much around which was ok for us as we wanted a relaxing holiday. It’s a lovely boutique hotel set on a beautiful beach with 2 pools. All inclusive meals were provided in a single à la carte restaurant with a choice of dishes - it was the highlight of the holiday, always delicious.
If you didn’t book directly through the hotel you aren’t given the best overall service level - ie, room type/location, access to cliff side facilities, mini-bar. This was hugely more expensive and not value for money. Our room was a semi-detatched plunge pool villa (R1) at the top of the resort hill from which you could hear a noisy water purification plant 24/7. I didn’t even know these rooms existed before we arrived. They may have moved us if we had complained, but we actually didn’t spend much time in the villa and once the doors were closed all you could hear was the air conditioning unit (and the tree frogs!).
Excellent breakfast and service. We love the location access to lots of different beaches by foot of transport
Entertainment sometimes a bit boring
LA LOCATION IMMERSA NELLA NATURA. PISCINE A SFIORO CON BELLISSIMA VISTA.
LO STAFF SVOGLIATO E POCO EMPATICO.
The food was excellent. The location was superb. Staff are very friendly.
Could do with extra toilets at the downstairs bar area.
Everything was nice, a slice of paradise. Staff very nice, and a more intimate hotel boutique style which I like.
We liked the cottage with plunge pool which was very comfortable with a fantastic view. We also enjoyed having coffee & tea delivered every morning. The “a la carte” style all inclusive menu was very good with delicious food. There was also a large selection of top quality alcoholic cocktails. The staff were very friendly & helpful.
There were many mosquito’s, so it would be advisable to bring plenty of mosquito spray, but this is a problem elsewhere in Antigua so not unique to this hotel.
Antigua, the hotel and location are great. The beach is 30 seconds away and is lovely. When the sea is calm the snorkeling is quite good on the reef, water is blue and crystal clear. The food and drink is good, choices at breakfast and lunch, evening meal are good too. 80% of the staff were awesome.
Me and my wife got more for less in Thailand and Goa, this might just be the Carribbean costing more. Some staff seemed disinterested and required further training and development. We had issues with food orders and cold food. Plunge pool is always in the shade and freezing cold, we never used it. There was a cockroach once in one of the toilets by reception and one on its back still wriggling in a room one morning.
Tutto bellissimo. Posizione stupenda, staff gentilissimo e disponibile, cibo buono, camera sensazionale, ottima pulizia. Grazie di tutto.
Il wi-fi in camera non sempre prende bene.
Stunning location. We were upgraded to front row bungalow, directly overlooking the bay which was just beautiful. Friendly staff, great food, pools and beach were just lovely. Amazing trip.
Nothing
Great rooms and views
Food was good. Limited alcohol selection for all inclusive
Staff werr fantastic: very friendly and capable. Lots of choices for beaches, pools and great range of food and drinks.
Nothing springs to mind. All good.
EVERYONE was so nice and ready to help in any way possible but Jermain, Lindell, and O'Neil were my favorite people I've ever met! We are already thinking about the next time we can come here, truly amazing place.
I didn't like that I have to go home to the cold and snow!
Beach was nice and the little cottages have charm. The grounds are well kept and nice. Live entertainment at night was cool.
Staff are uninterested. The food is very poor with very strange takes on classic dishes. The facilities are just held together with minimal maintenance evident. Front office is disorganised and obviously poorly managed. The place desperately needs a general manager who knows what they are doing.
This was our first time at an all-inclusive and this resort really set the bar. We booked this location for the honeymoon based on cost/duration of our honeymoon, nonstop flights and reviews of the place itself (food, service). We ended up booking an 8 night stay in November overlapping with the Thanksgiving Holiday to maximize our time off. Upon arrival, the staff was so welcoming with rum punch while our room was getting prepared for us. A staff member helped bring our bags to our room and showed us how to open all the doorways in our room. The bathroom/shower had a door that opened onto the balcony as well as the bedroom with latches to hold them open outside. Our room also had a hammock on the balcony that the staff member showed us how to set up. We compared this resort with a few others on the island and one thing that really stood out in reviews was the food at Rafter's. And ...the food was SO good. I was worried about my husband since he has allergies to nuts/shellfish but the staff was very accommodating and acknowledged his allergy at every meal. He was always able to find something to eat and it didn't always have to be a burger which is what I was afraid of. The menus varied every day we were there. Some of our favorite dishes were the fish cakes, goat curry, antiguan soups (like all of them), and the antiguan jerk chicken. All meals had a 2 hour time block at rafters. Breakfast from 730-930, lunch from 1230-230 and Dinner from 630-830. We were told everyday at breakfast to book a reservation time for lunch and dinner. However, you could arrive earlier or later than your reservation and they wouldnt turn you away. The bar opened everyday at 10am. There was also a coffee shop that had a mini gift shop in it. Coffee, pastries and smoothies were included in your stay (all coffee types). The coffee shop opened earlier than breakfast but smoothies started at 1030. We spent most of our time at the beach. How could you not?
We did not end up using any of their extras, honestly we thought the extras were a little pricey for what they were compared to doing excursions/massages with a 3rd party.
Amazing views, location is amazing.
Lack of things to do. Lack of food options. Room was fair- we got the suite with plunge pool. But it’s just a room with a small deck and pool. Outside area had no sun- our cottage was covered by a roof- which was unfortunate because we weren’t able to tan and use our pool. Pool was very cold- which would be nice if we could be in the sun prior to use. We were in seagrape the first cottage in the row of cottages. There was no alcohol in the room- which I foundvery strange as its an all inclusive- and normally alocohol is found in room. Snacks were also not provided in the rooms. I felt that by booking through booking.com we got the lower end room of the “suite” options. There is no option for grab and go food. they have a coffee shop where you can get pastries. And a little cottage by the beach where we can get Panini‘s, but they close at five (or maybe 6). Also, when you order a Panini by the Sunset pool, they wrap it in aluminum foil, heat it up and then slice the Panini in half which causes tiny pieces of aluminum to be in your sandwich so be mindful if you get those. Food at the restaurant was OK, nothing stood out to me. Some of the items are good like the sushi appetizer, but they gave you three tiny pieces of it. I saw some people taking food to go wrapped in saran wrap however I wasn’t sure if that was an additional charge or not. No one ever mentioned it to us when we arrived. They offer supplemental options during dinner that you can pay extra for- unless you get a package. We did not have to pay extra but those supplemental options do not change daily. The steak was good however, the shrimp option was just five small pieces of shrimp on a kebab. Overall, the facilities are nice, but it’s really the view that saves them. The views are so breath taking- and everywhere you go you see the mountains and ocean. No one seemed to go above and beyond, at least for us on this trip.
Staff are amazing
Not all cottages have a coffee hatch
Amazing views, friendly staff, good choice of food each day.
Cottage rooms a little dated and the hotel wasn’t near anything
Posizione, spiaggia, tanto verde.
Niente di rilevante
The people were incredibly kind and accommodating, always making us feel genuinely welcome. The lunch and dinner were outstanding, with delicious à la carte options available throughout the stay, and the infinity swimming pools were absolutely stunning. The perfect place to relax and unwind.
The gym was quite small and not very well equipped. Breakfast could have been better. The Wi-Fi signal wasn’t great, although that can also be seen as a positive when you’re on holiday. The 2 paddles available were a bit broken.
The food was incredible, so fresh and flavorful. The views are amazing- the pictures don’t do it justice. Kemlin at concierge was super helpful in booking a fishing trip and a private boat tour. I would highly recommend this resort. It’s quiet and low key - perfect for relaxation.
Laid back vibe. Immaculate gardens and views
Would prefer mini bar to have some minimal stock and also need more toilets by the second pool closer to the beach
Lovely rustic luxury. The view from our private pool out over the bay was unbelievable!
The gym is a bit basic. I would have liked to see re-usable water bottles in the rooms as opposed to refilling disposable plastics... but we're scraping the barrel for downsides here!
The place is completely stunning, but what makes this place amazing is the whole experience. Staff members were all absolutely fantastic. All the restaurant, bar and coffee shop staff are so friendly, smiley and a joy to be around. There were loads of staff, we were always waited on very attentively without it being overbearing. Food is absolutely fantastic. There is a limited choice which for me was good because I often still couldn’t choose, and I enjoyed everything I ate. Every meal time was a joy! Also good sized portions considering the 3 course meals twice a day! Would definitely recommend this place and come back again. For a relaxing chill holiday I could not have asked for anything more!
WiFi connection wasn’t always fast.
Breakfast excellent and standard of food was good, better than we remembered from our previous visit
Did not like the long walk up hill to our cottage. Because Tricia has problems with walking distances, particularly up hill(!) I requested a cottage nearer to reception on two occasions before we checked in. I appears this request was totally ignored. We were offered an alternative cottage on day two but we had already unpacked and No 53 was not a great alternative.
Privacy of the lodge
It was dated in parts and the pool was green in parts so would need abit more cleaning
Location and property is beautiful and quaint. The water colour is the most beautiful. The pools and beach are very nice and the easiness of the property is welcoming
The beds in the cottages were very uncomfortable including the bedding. The lighting was very dark at night. The air conditioning was either too cold or not enough to keep you comfortable at night. The pool is not heated and in a location where the sun can’t possibly warm the water so we hardly used it.
An absolutely stunning resort, the food and cocktails were exceptional and the staff clearly love working here, always with a smile and a cheery hello! Highly recommend.
Nothing
We had a wonderful week at CocoBay! The resort was beautiful and the view from our room was amazing. The staff were all attentive and friendly. We also really enjoyed the food. We hope to return in the future!
The lounge chairs on the beach and at the sunset pool were not very comfortable. We loved everything else about CocoBay!
Beautiful location and amazing food.
Allowing guests to reserve sun beds and not use them for several hours. Would be better if you get one when you want one.
Beautiful views of the ocean
Room noisy, most days ran out of beach towels, weren't allergy friendly
It was our second time there, we absolutely love it. It’s an exceptional place. Food is great - wonderful breakfast, also lovely fresh food for lunch, dinner and snacks (and the kitchen was really accommodating of my complicated dietary needs, thank you!!) It’s an amazing location, utterly beautiful. Staff are exceptional: friendly, professional, warm and welcoming. We felt really lucky to be able to spend a glorious week there!
There’s not a lot nearby, you need a car (not for faint hearted drivers..) or taxis to go anywhere. And the excursions which the hotel can book for you are good but quite pricey. We actually didn’t want to go sightseeing this time so it didn’t matter to us! But it might for some people.
All the workers and guests were extremely polite. The views and the property were amazing.
Wonderful beautiful stay ❤️
The location is beautiful and it’s like being in paradise. The staff are amazing, professional and very friendly. The food was always delicious and very well made and presented. The whole resort is perfect if you are looking for a quiet, relaxing time in a wonderful part of the world.
Everything was great!
Overall 9/10 We really did enjoy our stay and our experience was excellent but these improvements would make it flawless/out of this world. Good: * Very friendly and attentive staff * Room size- especially the villa was expansive especially for a longer stay * The variety and quality of the food and drinks as part of the all-inclusive- particularly the consideration given to extensive dietary requirements * The location and the views were phenenomal * The views and the various pools and beaches * The music band offered on the Caribbean night was enjoyable * The shuttle bus offering into St John's town and Shirley Heights * The welcome drinks on arrival
Room for Improvement: * Need to have full presence at the front desk, sometime we waited for someone to be around * The activities concierge needs to be more proactive and informed (didnt tell us activities were cancelled, didnt offer turtle visit with our stringray plan etc) * Suggest some other activities or offerings for rainy stormy days * A sun umbrella for the villas with the pool and deck lounges would have enhanced siting experience especially on hot days * WiFi coverage was spotty * We had to tell staff about dietary reqiuirements for every meal and we stayed for 8 days ; every staff member asked and the onerous was on the guest to voice out. This can be dangerous paritculalry for those with a more severe allergy * Offer fresh juices not packaged ones
Cocobay is a great boutique all-inclusive. With only 65 couples cottages it never feels crowded. The bars and restaurant are top-flight. The pools and beach are beautiful and loungers and cabanas are always available. The only thing that needs to be improved is the spotty WiFi.
The food menu was very small only 3 options for dinner the same thing almost every night, staff was very friendly but ordering something from the bar… your gonna wait a good 30 minutes overall food choices could be better nice place.
Cocobay Resort is an amazing choice for anyone seeking a relaxing, adults-only tropical getaway! The charming boutique vibe and welcoming staff truly enhance the experience. I loved the delightful dining options, which offered a new menu every day. Although there was a slight hiccup with the timing of in-room extras, the staff handled it quickly and with great care. Overall, it’s a wonderful place to unwind and enjoy paradise!
This is an ideal vacation property for those seeking a quiet and relaxing atmosphere, excellent dining, friendly and attentive service, breathtaking scenery, and cozy cottages (many with private plunge pools). The adjacent beach is clean and safe, with resort attendants on hand to bring cool drinks. We thought the place would be overrun by newlyweds because of the romantic vibe, but there were guests (adults only) of all ages on site during our stay. It's a small property with only 61 cottages and a maximum capacity of about 130 people, so there are no lines ever at the dining room, two bars or the coffee shop. Highly recommend - we'll most likely go back for an encore.
This place is amazing i would love to visit again. I would suggest they cut back some of the bushes in the back of the cottage , so you can have a better view of the water.
The location and lovely staff
The rooms were a bit tired no extras and the mini bar was not filled or water bottles replenished daily
Beautiful view of the sea. Lovely hotel
One of the best vacations we had, friendliest people had an amazing time.
beautiful facility and the staff was friendly and accommodating.. unfortunately, the flies were very disruptive when trying to enjoy breakfast, lunch and pool time..
This was an amazing place to stay. We were there for 8 days and didn’t have any problems ourselves. Rooms were clean, AC worked great, and was cleaned everyday. Food was great with the menu changing. Wife is gluten free and had plenty of options for her to choose from. Only had a couple complaints. First was that there was only one set of bathrooms within the resort besides in the rooms. This was a good walk from the beach area. Second was the towels shortage. Every afternoon they ran out of beach towels. Safety wise we felt secure but there was a person that had her stuff stolen off the beach. Made us more aware when we went to the beach.
I absolutely loved this resort. The staff was super friendly and helpful. The room was clean and very nice. The room felt like we were at a spa. The food was great with a different menu every day. I can’t wait to go back.
We loved everything and will be back It was a quiet very easy experience. Met lots of lovely people...the plunge pool was amazing...already talking about our next visit
Was a beautiful resort we will come back for sure !
They did not keep the beach area clean from seaweed.
Highly recommend this wonderful boutique resort that provides quaint cottages, several swimming/lounging options, attentive staff and the best meal options and quality ever experienced at a resort. The resort was quiet, relaxing and provided basic recreation options (gym, paddle boarding, kayaking, swimming) to deliver a laid back vacation. Hoping to get back to Cocobay Resort in the future.
We could have been given a room closer and one with the pool in the front instead of at the side as we were celebrating my wife’s 60th birthday. There should be a free shuttle service to and from the airport. There is room for improvement with their desserts. However, we truly enjoyed our stay as the staff was very hospitable and welcoming.
Beach beautiful
Loved our stay and the infinity pool. Will definitely be back
Kemlin, Kenny, Ariel, Omeyana, Juvesha was great! They made my girlfriend birthday stay very enjoyable. Need more control of stay cat in the restaurant. It ruins experience of eating outside.
The staff is beyond amazing and the nicest people.
Perfect resort. Couldn’t ask for more.
Staff was amazing. Rooms are absolutely gorgeous 😍 food was great...
The staff was amazing only problem was the flys was a little crazy
The property was absolutely beautiful, never felt safer or had more friendly staff in any Island before like this. The people of Antigua love their Island and want you to enjoy have fun and feel safe, the premium ocean virw room with olunge pool had an incredible view and the pool was great, clean, and stayed very cool. The wait staff and bartenders were unlike any I have had in any resort, remembered our names, our drinks, and the friendliest people ever! The beach activity person Vernon was always the nicest and took our paddle boards into the water for us each day. I haven’t stayed at too many all inclusive places, but let me say our food choices and the quality of the food was was above average and we had some incredible meals. I will definitely be back, an absolute beautiful property!
Had a very relaxing experience staying coco bay resort. Beautiful ocean views. Staff was very nice and respectful.
Beautiful view
Cocobay was truly paradise for me and my husband! We were there for your 5 year wedding anniversary and it felt like another honeymoon! 😊 The property, the resort, cottage, the restaurants and the PEOPLE were absolutely incredible and we are planning our next trip in a couple of years!! I've been to many Caribbean Islands, and other tropical resorts, and this one is the best I've experienced! Antigua is truly a gem and just stunning!
Everyone was nice and it was a pleasant experience!
It’s a stunning property, with beautiful views of the ocean. Rooms felt private and secluded, and cleaned daily - close proximity to Big Ffryes beach which is beautiful. Staff were friendly.
Food is very mediocre for a 4 star property. Things like the “fresh fruit salad”’in the morning were terrible and not fresh. Considering it’s a tropical island, and the price of the hotel, I would assume that things like fruits, juices etc would all be fresh. If you want the Caribbean curry or other more local options on the menu it’s a 42USD surcharge!! They also only give you 2 bottles of water each day in the room which you are expected to fill up at the refill station. The price we paid to stay there there were just a few things that are overlooked and don’t make for a super comfortable stay.
Beaches all around you! The Beaches are beautiful, absolutely stunning! Kayaking, catamaran, paddle boarding, jet skiing, and boat parties daily.
