Location - very near Luas stop. It was kinda old fashioned but cosy. Staff helpful and friendly.
Can't think of anything.
Nice and peaceful
Room and customer service was very nice and kind
No room service for breakfast
Breakfast was very good. Bed was very comfortable. Shower was good l.
The hotel was also a night club. We'd just been 30 hours in transit from Australia as o needed a quiet place to catch up on sleep. The nightclub was in full swing when we arrived on Sunday afternoon & continued into the wee hours of the morning. Monday night , loud music from 11 pm. Our room was on the first floor right above the night club. Would not recommend this place to seniors.
Staff were friendly, and the beds were comfortable.
The hotel is managed as a nightclub with some basic rooms. Very loud 24/7 ac fans outside will ensure sleep is difficult when the nightclub closes. Ear plugs provided are ineffective.
The staff were nice and the restaurant was great!! Also, the lobby was beautiful.
We were dissappointed once we got into our room. It was in the basement and was very musty. The TV was problematic and very difficult to change the channels. Also, the views were generally of people's feet as they walked by.
Clean room and good shower
Accessibility was awkward but not an issue
Central location was good but very noisy due to the student event.
I recommend you provide earplugs for guests, or even better advance warning. Also I was given very vague instructions as to where my accommodation was, down the street behinds a glass door (which was hidden by a wooden door). The person behind the desk was very reluctant to walk me down there.
The water pressure and temperature were very good, it also had a decent breakfast (though I thought it had been included when it wasn’t). It’s also neat that George Bernard Shaw lived there once. The room wasn’t too uncomfortable.
The soundproofing in my room was totally insufficient. The room was immediately next to the “nightclub” portion of the hotel and nightclub. I shouldn’t be able to pick out individual parts of the songs being played. I also shouldn’t be able to tell from the cough of the mom in the room above me that that she had a chest infection. I also found the sheets to be a bit itchy. Mercifully, the nightclub closed around midnight.
Location and staff excellent
Location
Rude staff at reception male, made us wait till last minute for room keys, charged deposit, whilst others didn't need too, and there rooms was ready
Posizione centrale
Tutto ok
was clean and tidy staff were very kind and helpful
couldn’t get to sleep as the traffic and street outside was very loud for multiple hours during the night
It was close to the city centre, restaurants and parks.
The room was too hot, even with the window open for our whole stay. The noise from the back garden was very loud, until about 2 a.m. Bed pillows are quite flat/hard.
Breakfast was lovely. Linen and towels were crispy clean.
We were in the basement room. It was quite hot in the room, but there was a fan provided in the room.
Room was very small and shower even smaller could hardly shower in it..No air con and window wouldn't open.No water available in room. Had to walk outside and up street to main building which is not ideal for anyone at anytime. My husband had to walk up to get water and then was asked for €15 for water. He insisted on getting a jug and 2 glasses which he then again had to walk down the street with to where our room was .huge risk. When we arrived the receptionist had very poor English and less of a comprehension of it.She informed us that we were safe to park across the road and lucky for us a man who was working near by told us we would be clamped. The breakfast was horrendous very badly layed out with very unhelpful staff standing around chatting to each other in their language. Everything was cold and the toast area was dirty with bread only fit for ducks and flies all over it. Needless to say we only ate cereal .This is the 1st time I have ever given a bad review. It was a very disappointing experience over all.
The reception area was nice.
Our door to the room didn’t work and would not lock so we lost our first night in Dublin trying to sort this out. Got a room at the lovely sister hotel which was gorgeous, however the Harcourt was terrible and wouldn’t recommend at all. The lift didn’t work and the reception staff wouldn’t believe us when we told them this, we had to take a picture to prove it wasn’t working. Only stayed two nights and couldn’t go out as planned after this happened as it was 10pm by the time we had a room sorted and unpacked! We arrived at the hotel before 8pm!
It’s accessible and near to the city, coffee shop and restaurants
Bit old but clean
Lovely hotel, nice clean rooms and good location
No air conditioning, warm, noisy when window opened. Cost didn’t include breakfast
Good location
To much noise from the front bar, been in a front room the music traveled straight to my room.
Location was good.
Rooms smelt of must. Their was a music from club blaring all night. Towels were stained.
Good location
Nothing
Room was excellent and exceeded our expectations
Breakfast looked very poor therefore we did not dine there
Emplacement
Chambre mal assonorisée Bruit jusqu'à 4h du matin
Letti comodissimi. I migliori della nostra permanenza in Irlanda.
Very comfortable room and bed with good shower. We weren’t affected by the noise of the club downstairs
N/A
We did not have breakfast
The reception on the TV was poor at times
The hotel was well located for our needs and staff were very welcoming and friendly.
The rooms were very warm, beds uncomfortable and we didn't think we would have to deal with a nightclub under us on a Monday evening!
Trevlig personal, låg i ett bra område. Bra frukost
Ganska slitet.
Everything was fine, it was my sons birthday and we had a great night
Nothing
Beautiful hotel, nice sized rooms and lovely staff
Nothing
Posizione eccellente
Camera ricavata dalle cantine; nel bagno era presente muffa; materasso matrimoniale sformato.
It had a bed that was ok
The shower was to small and had a fixed shower head and the deposit was far to mutch
Location and breakfast staff was fantastic.
I didn't mind the muffled late night music but the loitering boisterous clientele conversations on the front steps late into the evening (1-3:30am) was intolerable.
Location and staff
A bit dated and bar has only pizzas on for food on a Sunday afternoon 😔
Emplacement assez central
Harcourt Hotel is ideally situated for a visit to all major Dublin attractions. The breakfast buffet has many delicious options. Staff is very friendly and helpful.
Please add outlets by the desk in 117.
Great hotel
Beer was iffy
Close to public transport. Very convenient for National Concert hall
A little noisy from a guest upstairs
great room with a two beds (one for 2 and one for 1). small bathroom but well organised, with a bath, linen changed everyday (even if not asked). some people said in the comments that it's noisy. my room was not on the street (where there is the tram) but on the garden (with a pub) but as I was there from Monday to Thursday morning it was not noisy.
Carpeted floor (not very hygienic). The window didn't close properly; they tried to fix it, but in the end, it still wouldn't close—fortunately, it wasn't cold. The isolation between two rooms and the corridor is not really good.
The location was as expected not far for most things we did Room size and amenities were good
room 226: The room temperature was warm; the HVAC didn't seem to do anything. I did not expect 'AC' - the temp was set to 18c but the room was warmer than that. Opening the window meant the room noise was louder, as it was right above the Bar/nightclub - the earplugs were of no help. The HVAC fan was spinning and making a noise constantly
Lovely staff
Bathrooms need updating
Location decor and staff
Bed was on an incline, food was tasty but not hot
Good location, communal areas good condition, beds comfy.
Mouldy bathroom, odd atmosphere, noisy.
Location wise was good
One of housekeeping staff suddeny open my door without my permision, didnt even announce anything just knock and opened it and i was half naked....also my deposit i never got it back only the receipt but the money never went through to my bank account i was going to let it slide but i never got my deposit back.... which is upsetting
Location was excellent and bar was good...nice pizza
Room was pokey and unwhelming
Excellent breakfast & helpful staff
Nothing
Good location, clean,
Terrible shower, room very warm (but fan provided) lack of convenient plugs for kettle and fan. Very noisy outside (earplugs provided).

What guests love
Areas to consider
Cleanliness
8.2/10Mostly reported as clean and well kept in multiple reviews ('very clean', 'clean rooms'), with a single comment about floor polishing causing slipperiness at breakfast.
Service
8.6/10Staff repeatedly described as friendly, helpful and attentive across reviews (multiple shout-outs to reception and helpful staff).
Location
9.2/10Consistently praised as central and convenient ('great location', 'close to city centre', easy walk to Temple Bar); frequent mentions of being above/next to nightlife explain high convenience but also noise exposure.
Room Quality
5.8/10Mixed to negative: many reports of small rooms, tiny showers, poor shower fittings, small/far TV, rooms described as 'like a sauna' in hot weather and some underground/stuffy rooms that affect comfort.
Amenities
6.8/10Mixed amenities: good breakfast and bar/restaurant decor noted, but recurring negatives around lack of air conditioning in hot weather, occasional no-WiFi report and limited in-room facilities (fan sometimes provided as ad-hoc).
Value for Money
7.2/10Mixed perceptions: several guests described good value and reasonable pricing, while others felt price was not adequate for the standard and noted small extra charges/poor coffee.
Food and Beverage
8/10Generally positive breakfast feedback (tasty, good choices, reasonably priced), though isolated criticism about poor/weak coffee.
Overall Experience
7/10Overall mixed stays: very good location and helpful staff balanced against noise issues and room comfort problems (heat, size, shower), producing a moderate overall impression.
A unique blend of historic architecture with modern comforts right on Harcourt Street.
Dine at 1900, enjoy cocktails at DTwo, and explore vibrant nightlife nearby.
