beautiful location and facilities. pool a bit old.
reception staff is underprepared as we arrived and they could not correctly communicate with the security staff to recognize our reservation and immediately let us in. we had to call to the reception and at first they stated we did not have a valid reservation and suggesting it was a mistake or scam. unpleasant situation as we arrived 11pm and had to deal with this and then wait outside on our car after they finally realized it was a valid reservation and enabling us inside the residence.
Excelente vista

Muy bueno en general. Excelente atencion de todos. Especialmente de joaquin
My family and I had a truly special experience at this hotel. The staff was very kind and helpful. Especially Nadia. The views were incredible. The beds were very comfortable and the room was nice. We enjoyed the breakfast very much. It is a Marriott which we didn't know. Everything was just so intimate and special. Really great stay.
Beautiful views. A wonderful place with incredible scenery. Very friendly staff. Restaurant was good. I will be coming back. The beds are incredible.
ubicacion y vistas perfectas
Very nice property away from the noise
Amazing views and good food! Staff were nice and professional
The view.
The hotel itself is nice and boasts good views but these are the only positives. The hotel is located in a gated community with strict security checks when entering, including facial recognition. The hotel feels like an afterthought that has been added to the gated community. It creates a safe but strange environment, one that felt odd and unwelcoming. The staff were friendly but very slow to complete anything, with the bar often without a staff member. This is an issue given the hotel is a 30 minute drive into town. The distance to town, coupled with Bariloche's bad traffic means that a very underwhelming and over priced kitchen is a significant problem for anyone staying here. My wife and I didn't hire a car for our trip to Bariloche (a big mistake on our part) meaning we had tried a variety of menu items, each as bad as the last. If you decide to use buses around Bariloche, absolutely do not stay here. If you plan to use Uber, as we did, expect it to be a burden anytime you wish to leave/return as the Uber drivers need to gain security clearance to access the property and then drive approximately 1.5km on a dirt road through the gated community to the hotel. There is no shortage of hotels in Bariloche- I suggest staying at one of them instead.
Good
Great and freindly staff, clean room with amazing views. Highly recommended.
Hotel locate in an astonishing neighborhood surrounded by a beautiful landscape and even better Mountain View. We will definitely come back again!
Breakfast wasn’tgood at all.
Prefer not to answer.
The property is located in a beautiful gated community with easy access to the golf course and trails. The hotel lodge is dated and the service at the restaurant is EXTREMELY SLOW! We waited over an hour for poached eggs that I refused to eat and pay for as they were cold and literally floating in a pool of water. Staff was friendly but very young and inexperienced. My sister and brother-in-law’s room had a very foul odour during their entire stay (3 nights) that never got resolved! Overall unsatisfactory and very disappointing!
Doors didnt close well in our room, breakfast was recicled from days ago, even some food was clearly not in conditions to eat it.
Unfortunately our stay was not good at all. We should have more carefully read the reviews. The hotel looks like it's falling apart. Walls and ground crumbling. The bar and restaurant are understaffed. The security at the front to get in in ludicrous!!! I had to give my uber drive a 30% tip because of all of the hassle. Also, took us over an hour to get a taxi to go into town. The day we needed to leave, there was 0 predictability about getting a taxi to get to the airport and nothing the staff could do to help. There should be transportation to the gate in the event of an emergency or time constricting need. Would not stay here again. Wish we would have stayed in town where we didn't feel totally stranded. The room was comfortable and AC appreciated although I agree with other reviewers that the kitchenette was unecessary. Staff tried to help but unable to do much. Views are nice and it was good to be able to walk 15 minutes down to the lake.
Location. The gated community is beautiful. You would have an outstanding view of the mountains and the lake Gutierrez.
- Facilities: there is no maintenance. Furniture is old. The gym is very small and the equipment is outdated. The Jacuzzi's filter didn't seem to work either as the water was dirty. - Food: terrible service. Do not pay for the breakfast as you will be truly disappointed. The coffee is undrinkable (the $25 continental breakfast would only give you access to filter coffee!) - The location is outstanding but you are not supposed to walk around the gated community as landlords might feel uncomfortable. You are supposed to drive around only.
Great lodge in an extremely secure, beautiful location. Comfortable room with an amazing view! Great service throughout. Great hiking right above in the nature reserve, just a few minutes walk away.
We had sandwiches one night in the bar, they were not great, but everything else was fantastic.
We stayed here last minute for 10 days after the airbnb we had booked for several weeks lost internet. I was a bit concerned since the reviews varied, but we had a stellar experience. First, the room we had was fantastic. Perfectly clean, amazingly comfortable bed, plus a killer view. Great shower and bathroom, and great water pressure and zero issues with hot water (which we experienced across the board in Argentina). The room had a nice small kitchenette that we made use of since we were there for a long time. The setting is ideal and just gorgeous. The lounge area has a picture perfect view and is a great area to work during the day, as well as have a drink at night. We did order veggie sandwiches one night there and those were not great, but that was the only negative. And, the hotel is fair, there is no VAT tax on food (in the lounge anyway), plus no service charges either. The food and drink prices were reasonable, too, surprisingly less than the golf course restaurant next door. The hiking in the area is great! You just need to walk up a few minutes to get to this nature reserve which has several great trails that have wonderful lake views, beautiful trees and birds. We did both long and short hikes, all were great so you can dial in how much you want. The area has extensive security. It did take a little while to get in but they set you up with this facial recognition, pretty slick. Be prepared with your passports and reservation information when you get to the gate, as it is a bit of a process. Then, be sure to take your room key with you if you go out as you might need to show it as they do guard the trails as well that go through their private property. But all professionally done. The staff here are all very pleasant and very helpful. Housekeeping was outstanding. We didn't have it every day but when we put the "please clean" card out the room was quickly cleaned by the time we got back, every time.
The hotel is dirty. What is presented on the website does not correlate with the hotel. Shower & bathroom unacceptable. Shower head, had to be held to be able to wash hair. No space to place anything. A/C is fantastic, But that’s as far as it goes! Breakfast, terrible. Terrible experience. Claim to have laundry, not available. The hotel is very far from the city center, at least a shuttle service could be available to guests. Claim to have a spa at the hotel, very much under-rated
Worst Marriott property I have ever been, it should not carry the Marriott flag. Room extremely small and dirty, the curtains have painting marks. Shower head broken and was splashing all over the barroom. Drain slow. Let's talk about the pour breakfast, Been a Marriott platinum member not even a recognition, welcome nothing or even the standard Marriott request on my profile. The gym is microscopic dirty and half the machines won't work or are very loud. On top of that very far from the city center and a laberintos and to get inside the grounds I did t put a zero because is has nice view. Is very far from the city and hard to access the property lots of security I took 30 minutes at the gate. The only reason is not a zero it has nice views but not worth the other issues
everything
Muito boa
Exceptional (but remote) location, lodge-style hotel, personalized service
Unjustifiably expensive hotel
The hotel is set in a decent area of Bariloche in a gated property. The area is pretty quaint and the view is nice. However a lot of signs of wear and lack of maintenance. The worst is the terrible attitude of the staff / management making us feel like we are bothering them in their home rather than being a hotel guest. Food is awful but this is a “standard” in Argentina so I cannot blame their restaurant.
Arelauquen Lodge is located within a private country club where many Argentinians own beautiful homes, giving the area an air of exclusivity. However, while the surroundings feel premium, the hotel itself does not deliver a 5-star experience (despite claims). At best, it’s a functional 4-star stay, lacking a clear vision for guest experience or connection with the surrounding nature. The Good - *Staff:* The team is kind and eager to help. With better management and direction, they could excel, but currently, they’re limited by the hotel’s shortcomings. - *Room:* The room meets Marriott standards (e.g. bedding, functional everything), and the room was generally comfortable. However, the kitchenette felt unnecessary, the furniture was dated, and small details like crooked lamp shades gave the room a neglected, bygone feel. - *View:* The view from the lobby is lovely, giving a good glimpse of Bariloche’s beauty. It isn't exceptional compared to other resorts we visited in the area, but it was very nice nevertheless. - *Food:* Dinner at the restaurant was delicious, albeit overpriced (but that is as expected at a hotel). The waitstaff was attentive and charming, adding warmth to an otherwise uninspiring stay. Missed Opportunities - *Vibe & Music:* The atmosphere was confusing. Instead of rustic or relaxing music that matched the lodge’s natural surroundings, the hotel played electronic dance music—even at breakfast—making the space feel out of sync with its environment. Suitable and equally low-effort alternatives could've been instrumental covers, standard piano/elevator music from the 90s, or a lo-fi playlist from Spotify... Anything but EDM with your eggs at 7am. - *Bonvoy Recognition:* I know Bonvoy Gold is not a big deal, but receiving the worst room in the hotel (ground-floor "mountain view" facing a parking lot, next to unpleasant smelling lobby bathrooms) was disappointing. With the curtains drawn for privacy, the room was dark and uninviting. I politely requested a higher-floor room, but no one followed up (the hotel was mostly empty, so definitely other rooms in the category available). - *Operations & Housekeeping:* Several operational details fell through. For instance, housekeeping didn’t service our room despite leaving the "make up room" sign out all morning (we left at 9am, came back at 2pm to an unmade room; ironically, the only staff member I consistently saw was someone mopping the lobby floor). - *A Lack of Guest Experience:* The lodge seems to cater primarily to golfers looking for someplace functional to spend the night, leaving other guests with little to do. Activities were not suggested at check-in, and staff seemed to not have much to offer when inquired about things to do (I asked a few different staff members at the front desk but to no avail). It seems like the Arelauquen club may have offered activities for guests to access (based on other reviews) but this was not evident while we were staying there. - *Limited Nature Access:* Given that Bariloche is renowned for its natural beauty, it was frustrating to feel confined to the hotel grounds. There were no walking paths, and venturing out meant either dodging golf balls or walking along a dull gravel road. The outdoor firepit was never lit, and the indoor fireplace remained unused, leaving the spaces cold and empty. - *Inconsistent Ambience:* The lodge felt eerily quiet and lifeless, despite the strange juxtaposition of upbeat music. In comparison, other properties we visited, like the lively Llao Llao Resort and even a small remote glamping site, maintained a bustling energy through thoughtful guest programming. Some simple actions, like lighting the lobby fireplace or the outdoor bonfire could have invited guests to spend time at the resort outside their (small) rooms. Instead, we didn't look forward to returning to our hotel and tried to avoid it at all costs during our short trip. - *Check-in & Arrival:* The experience started off on the wrong foot. At the country club entrance, guards didn't really acknowledge that there would be any hotel guests., which made check-in awkward. We had to exit the car for facial recognition photos (while the guards had our passports) —an unsettling process that could have been better communicated or handled in advance by the hotel (especially since we didn't speak any Spanish to communicate effectively with the guard). *Final Thoughts * Arelauquen Lodge feels like a missed opportunity. With more thoughtful management, attention to detail, and a focus on creating meaningful guest experiences, this could be a wonderful place to stay. However, in its current state, it offers little beyond a place to sleep. Prospective guests should be aware that this property is better suited for golf enthusiasts seeking basic accommodation rather than travellers looking for an immersive or memorable experience in Bariloche.
Just right! It's not too big and not too small. Excellent service and friendly people! I highly recommend it.
.
My stay there was just amazing. Hotel is in perfect conditions, very comfortable, very fancy, food is great. The location made me speechless because I could see the snowy mountains from my windows.
The rooms
Its not a five star hotel it disnt have 24 hr room service
Views of the mountain range are incredible. Staff are very attentive and kind.
Really run down property. Only two persons can speak English. Poor kitchen.
Everything wad bad
Propiedad divina y hotel precioso
Great Hotel
Great place..clean and staff is very friendly.
Fantastic natural environment surrounding beautiful lodge
Nice hotel in a very beautiful and safe area…it is about 20-25 minutes drive to Bariloche town center…for me it was a con but for my husband it was a pro…depends on your preference. The property itself is very nice and clean, the staff very helpful. They have a restaurant on site with very good food.
Perfeita. Muito boa.
Astonishing surroundings, small and authentic hotel with all the necessary supplies
Best hotel view we’ve had in Argentina ! Beautiful view over the golf course and to the mountains. Very nice room, spacious with plenty of storage and a kitchen area. Breakfast is ok - continental style . Would prefer MTO eggs but this style typical for hotels in Argentina. Outside of town so you’ll need driver or taxi to go into town
I recently revisited what used to be a charming retreat, now operating under the Marriott brand, and unfortunately, my experience left much to be desired. My first encounter with this establishment was nothing short of amazing, but this return visit fell short in numerous ways. While the beautiful views and serene location remain unchanged, the hotel now lacks the personality and warmth it once exuded. What struck me most was the apparent identity crisis the hotel seems to be experiencing. It attempts to portray itself as upscale but exhibits signs more akin to a budget establishment, leaving guests like myself uncertain about its direction and overall appeal. One of the most disappointing aspects post-refurbishment was the addition of small kitchens in the rooms. These kitchens, equipped with microwaves, oversized fridges, cooktops, and sinks, felt unnecessary and detracted from the ambiance. Moreover, the noise and light from these appliances were disruptive, especially during the night, and despite complaints, no action was taken to address the issue. During one evening, a blackout occurred in our room while I was in the shower. Despite being offered another room for the night, the lack of communication and inconvenience of switching rooms, especially considering the late hour and our tiredness, further marred the experience. The hotel's response lacked even a simple apology for the inconvenience caused, highlighting a lack of attention to guest comfort and satisfaction. The accommodations themselves were subpar, with uncomfortable pillows and dated decor, contributing to an overall lackluster experience. Even the spa, marketed as a relaxing escape, felt impersonal, with the pool often littered with dead bugs and leaves, detracting from any sense of relaxation or rejuvenation. Location-wise, while we appreciated the hotel's off-the-beaten-path setting, its distance from the city center proved inconvenient, especially considering the absence of drop-off or pick-up services. Relying on unreliable taxi services, compounded by the necessity of paying in cash as taxis do not accept credit cards, added unnecessary stress to the stay. Addressing this issue should be a priority for the hotel management, offering guests more convenient transportation options. The culinary experience was equally underwhelming, with monotonous and uninspired breakfast offerings that left me disinterested by the end of the week. The dinner menu, while passable, lacked variety and clear descriptions of dishes. To top it off, when I inquired about a late check-out as a loyal Marriott Bonvoy member, I was met with a shocking fee from the general manager. Charging around $150 for a mere two-hour extension felt exploitative and showcased a blatant disregard for guest satisfaction. It left a sour taste in my mouth and reinforced the impression that the hotel prioritizes profit over guest experience. Overall, my return visit to this hotel was a disappointment. It's evident that the establishment has lost its charm and fails to prioritize guest experience. For those seeking a memorable and comfortable stay, I would recommend looking elsewhere for accommodations that better cater to their needs and expectations.
My husband and I stayed here for one week and it was an absolute dream. The stunning views speak for themselves but the staff was divine and truly made this experience so personal for us. Sabrina, Alan, Damien, Denis and Tomas were all so kind and welcoming. They gave us wonderful recommendations for places to eat in town and things to do. The food was fantastic. The room was clean and comfortable. Getting to town takes about 20 minutes and you can ask for a taxi pickup from the lodge and then grab a taxi or Uber back. If you are ever in Bariloche, do not miss the chance to stay here!!!
Views are amazing
The facilities are old and the property looks a bit poorly managed short of stuff, definitely not a 5 star, no concierge for example. The hotel is in a gated community so we had to go through a security check point similar to a boarder control, very disorganized to say the least
A unique property in a private condo with exclusive access and in the middle of an excellent golf course. A very nice setting, good quality, in some minor aspect a lack of maintenance (loose WC sear, jet of ja jacuzzi di not work, one toaster at breakfast in bad condition for three days and then replaced. One day run out of cheese during breakfast. Staff very friendly and helpful, deserve special mention.
Recomiendo ampliamente
The hotel is nice looking, but feels a little dated. The rooms, tile, wood fixtures, could use some work. Staff is friendly and helpful. This is definitely not a 5 star hotel, more like a 4 star. There is no turn down service, etc.
Scenic view!
Impecable como siempre el Arelauquen Lodge
I typically spend a hundred nights per year in a hotel - easily over a thousand in the last 20 years and remember maybe 10 of them. This place is in the top 5. Although a Marriott property, the lodge is small - about 20 rooms I guess. It's in a gated community with a golf course and very expensive homes. The security gate takes some time the first time you go through, but they give you a code to use after that. The scenery can only be described as stunning. The pictures don't do it justice. You'll find yourself staring out the window without realizing it. I did a Grand View room which is on the top floor with views in three directions. It had a kitchenette, dining table for three, a king bed, two arm chairs with a coffee table and a spacious bathroom. Incredible water pressure. Even with all of that, the staff is really the best part of the hotel. Marianna, Bruno, Rosario and Denis were very friendly and very invested in making sure we had a great time both in the property and exploring the area. Although the hotel is in a very posh setting, they make it casual and comfortable. Other reviews mention the staff, but they truly are the best. Granted the inflation in Argentina is a bit crazy, but we felt it was the best value of any hotel we have ever stayed in when we got our bill. Personally, I would never consider staying anywhere else in Bariloche.
Very good and cozy for family stay, with a nice pool and a warm staff team. You should rent a car as it is far from main atracttions
Danielle, Sergio and the team were amazing. Such a beautiful location with a fantastic golf course. Make sure you include the breakfast which was delicious. I look forward to coming back, and trying more of their delicious hospitality.
The lodge is located at a gated resort lots of villas and a golf court very close to Lago Gutierrez were you can swim and hike. It's possible to hike all the way to the ski area, Cerro Catedral and lots of other hike trails closely. The restaurant was not our favorite but lots of great restaurants around. The rooms are excellent with nice views on the lake.
Wonderful property everything is beautiful I only recomend to rent a car to get here is very important!
Excellent stay, loved the area, nice breakfast, comfortable bed, welcomed staff, if you are looking for a hotel to relax this is the one. If you play gulf, even better.
The setting is a lovely piece of nature. The staff is remarkable, especially Sergio (front desk). He has the best customer service skills I have ever seen. The girls in the breakfast room were wonderful, too.
Wonderful experience in a very nice hotel located in a prime location, near a golf, amid a very large Park, and wit a relaxing view on the surrounding mountains and a lake . The room was well équiped an the staff ( in particular Sergio) extremely friendly an helpful in all circumstances . Friendly staff always ready to help at the breakfast too.
Amazing views around!!!
Arelauquen Lodge has the most spectacular views of the Andes. Our room had a full view and it was stunning. The staff is friendly and helpful. They have a spa, workout room and indoor/outdoor pool. The morning breakfast is included and has a variety of foods to choose from. The restaurant food for lunch & dinner is average tasting. This hotel is a Marriott, but not up to Marriott standards, although it has its own charm. The location is in an upscale, very safe and beautiful neighborhood. It’s between the town and scenic drive. I recommend renting a car. We enjoyed our stay very much and I would go back.
Fabulous place to stay. Staff is excellent and the restaurant is as well. Rooms are big. Views are spectacular. Only issue was it is not close to anything. So be prepared to order taxi a lot.
A equipe é super atenciosa e prestativa.
