Ona Marinas de Nerja: a resort in decline. Poor maintenance, insufficient cleanliness, and worn-out/dirty facilities. Wi-Fi in premium apartments is practically nonexistent. Restaurant/Breakfast food is tasteless and disappointing. Very poor value for money. Avoid.

Heerlijk hotel direct aan het strand. Mooi zwembad, uitgebreid ontbijtbuffet en een prachtig uitzicht vanaf ons balkon. Heerlijk rustig strand, omdat het buiten Nerja centrum ligt, maar voor 1 euro pak je de bus voor de deur naar het gezellige centrum van Nerja. Ik zou volgende keer zeker voor dit hotel kiezen.

Airco op de kamer wat lawaaierig. En als je met kinderen gaat die je op tijd naar bed wil doen, dan moet je hier niet zijn. Harde muziek bij het zwembad tot 23:00 uur, maar wij vonden dat best gezellig.

If you want a quiet end to your day sitting on the balcony forget it if you get a pool view Room opposite the stage, from 8 _11pm every night,it is loud even if you close the doors and window in your room, how families with kids manage i don't know,,seem to lean towards the Spanish tourists which is fair enough it's their country,I did question the volume but basically told it's holiday season get over it,it would have been nice to have been given a choice of or pre warned about the noise levels, I'm not a killjoy by the way but if I wanted entertainment like they supply I would have gone to benidorm, for the price i expected better,

Que todas las hamacas estuvieran ocupadas desde el inicio de la mañana. Recomiendo llevar toalla propia y sombrilla, estuvimos en la playa todos los días.

The pool area was quite nice not overly busy and always chairs to be had . The location isn't great if you're not all inclusive and you like to move around as your a little bit from Nerja and other restaurants and bars

The room we had (One-Bedroom Apartment with Terrace) was a good size. It was nice and airy, and although the outside temperature was in the high 20s, the room remained relatively cool, so we didn’t need to use the air conditioning, despite being on the third floor. We found the bed very comfortable. A kettle was provided, and the room was cleaned every day, if I remember correctly.

These aren’t really negative points, but rather a few suggestions that I feel could improve the overall experience: Consider replacing the fabric wrist strap with a more comfortable and practical option, such as a rubber wristband. Consider changing the locking mechanism on the balcony door. We did manage to lock ourselves out, although this was entirely our own fault! Fortunately, we had our phones with us and were able to contact reception for assistance. It would be great to see the currently closed restaurant reopened, perhaps providing an alternative dining option to those that didn't avail of the all-inclusive buffet. It may be worth reinforcing the rules regarding sunbeds. On several occasions, sunbeds were unavailable because they had been "claimed" but were then left unused for considerable periods of time. Admittedly, this is a common issue at many resorts, but having a system in place to prevent this would be a welcome improvement.

El trato del personal y el acceso directo de la piscina a la playa.

Tuvimos que realizar un traslado completo de apartamento al aparecer cucarachas en cocina y baño. Situación muy desagradable que nos tuvo una noche prácticamente sin dormir y perder la mañana del día siguiente realizando el traslado. El hotel respondió de manera rápida y eficaz facilitando el cambio. Son incómodas las colas que presenta el comedor en las distintas comidas. Muy difícil coger hamacas en playa y piscina. Todas reservadas desde horas muy tempranas.

Me gustó mucho la localización del hotel, la cercanía a la playa y la comodidad de las camas.

No me gustó la música tan alta por la noche, aunque terminaba a las 23.00 en punto.

El como quedaba la habitación después de la limpieza dependiendo de la empleada y se retrasaba más allá de las 14:00 horas casi todos los días

La ubicación del hotel es excelente el personal (restaurante, recepción...), además de muy amables, siempre están dispuestos a resolver cualquier inconveniente o aclarar dudas.

El horario de las cenas es algo temprano para un español. Hubo un pequeño malentendido un día con el horario de la limpieza de la habitación pero se pudo solventar sin demasiados problemas.

Essen: Qualität des Essens nicht immer überzeugend (geschmacklos, zum Teil kalt), wenig für Vegetarier geeignet; Geschirr nicht immer sauber, zum Teil mit Macken; Apartment: sehr harte Betten, veraltete Küche, auch hier Geschirr nicht sauber, sehr hellhörig zu Nachbarzimmern hin

Honestly so disappointed in this entire experience. I splurged to bring my family on this trip and saw good reviews and I was just so beyond underwhelmed. The hotel was very dated, hallways with lighting that felt like a hospital, dated rooms (bed were comfortable and it was clean) but overall disappointing. Staff were not kind or accommodating, especially front desk staff. The place was way overbooked and so overcrowded. We had to wait in line for sometimes 45 minutes in the morning to get a table for the breakfast and the food was honestly so gross. I’m not even that picky either, it was just that bad. Also, good luck getting a chair at the pool they were so overbooked you couldn’t find anywhere to sit all day unless you went out at 6am and tossed your towels on a chair, and if you want a new towel you can’t get one unless you wait 4 days between. They charge you extra if you want to clean the kitchen in your room or offer to give you cleaning supplies to do it yourself. Just absolutely bizarre nickel and dining you for everything. They don’t enforce the parking outside so locals are using the parking lots and there is no spaces for cars for guests unless you want to pay even more for their paid parking lots which is of course extra again. You can’t use any floaties or balls or toys in the pool either which my only child son was extremely sad about. Such a bad experience, ruined my vacation that I had been anticipating for months with my family. We left early and went to Malaga and had an amazing last couple days for less than half the price of this place. Stay clear.

The only good thing about this place is that it has direct access to the beach. It's a club resort for tour operators... If it's not your thing, AVOID ! Nerja old town the cave and kayaking were nice things to do to escape that terrible place for the 2 days we stayed.

Welcome was bad. NOISE! Room is old. Rest of facilities need serious upgrades. Beds were so cheap and uncomfy. Parking system is pathetic (you are forced to pay for a dirt field). People seem to enjoy waiting 15min in a line to have a table for breakfast (in a horrible room - food was OK). €580 for 2 nights ?!?! I've stayed at better Ibis** than this for a fraction of the price.

No tienen infraestructuras para todos los clientes que pueden alojarse en el hotel, falta de mesas para el espectáculo de la noche o de hamacas para estar en la piscina o en la playa, es muy escaso. También necesita una remodelación.

Hotel was ok but not as nice as the photos suggest and certainly not worth the money we paid for all inclusive. Some staff were lovely, smiley and friendly but some of the bar staff were quite rude at times, particularly if you made the mistake of ordering drinks for your family of 4 (only 2 drinks allowed each time!) The room was big with plenty of storage space but the air conditioning had an awful smell (like drains). Maid service was really good and rooms were kept clean, with fresh towels whenever you wanted them. Food was generally good but be prepared for long queues during the busier periods. I would recommend hiring a car which you can use to see various beautiful places around the area and will also act as your transfer to and from the airport. I would recommend staying no longer than 1 week as hotel not large enough to keep you entertained for any longer than this. Tip: parking in front of the hotel is free as it's a public carpark whereas parking at the side (past the barrier) is 10euros per day.

Me alojé en un estudio para tres, realmente es para dos, muy pequeño para tres personas, además la habitación se notaba antigua y para colmo me limpiaron la habitación todos los días a las tres de la tarde, con lo que cuando subía de comer no podía relajarme y tenía que estar esperando. Otra cosa es que no tuvieron el detalle de ya que íbamos tres personas, dejar una silla más en la terraza y como mínimo un vaso más en el baño para el cepillo de dientes. Son detalles que en otros sitios si los tienen, incluso con menos estrellas, tampoco ponen una botella de agua de cortesía

We have been at Ona Marinas de Nerja for less than 24 hours and I am already ready to go home. Our stay started on a genuinely positive note, which unfortunately makes the decline in our experience all the more disappointing: We arrived late last night due to a delayed flight, and the gentleman who checked us in was welcoming and thoughtful, even providing bottled water and snacks. My husband had also accidentally made the reservation for three guests instead of four, inadvertently leaving our younger son off the booking. The gentleman at reception was very understanding and told us not to worry, that he would “take care of it in the morning.” The cafeteria staff have also been consistently kind and pleasant. Initially, I was willing to overlook some smaller cleanliness issues, including crumbs and food debris on the kitchen dining chairs when we entered the apartment. Unfortunately, it quickly became apparent that this was not an isolated oversight. We discovered ants in our room, which I mentioned to the front desk either the evening we arrived or first thing the following morning. The issue was acknowledged, and we were told someone would be sent to address it. That has yet to happen. The internet connection has also been extremely poor. Again, we raised the issue and were assured that someone would “take care of it.” Again, nothing has been resolved. As I write this it has been on hour since they told me they would “send someone” on both issues. The tone at reception also changed considerably when the front desk later called regarding adding our fourth family member to the reservation. What had originally been presented as a simple issue that would be handled in the morning suddenly became an interaction that felt unnecessarily curt and unfriendly. Parking is apparently an additional €10 per day, which is totally fine, but the individual communicating through the parking buzzer was also surprisingly rude. Guests should not feel as though they are inconveniencing staff simply by trying to understand or access a service for which they are paying. Most concerning is the cleanliness, or lack thereof, of the apartment. The floors are filthy. This is not a matter of normal wear during a family stay—they were visibly dirty upon our arrival and do not appear to have been properly cleaned before we checked in. Combined with the food debris on the chairs and the ants, it raises legitimate questions about the standard of housekeeping between guests. Any one of these issues might be understandable on its own. What is frustrating is the pattern: we raise a concern, it is acknowledged, we are told someone will “take care of it,” and then nothing happens. We chose Ona expecting a professionally managed resort apartment. Friendly cafeteria staff and a pleasant initial welcome are appreciated, but they cannot compensate for an inadequately cleaned apartment, ants, unreliable internet, inconsistent customer service, and repeated promises to resolve issues without any actual follow-through. At this point, we would appreciate less reassurance that things will be “taken care of” and more evidence that they actually have been.

Staff not friendly at all Except for cleaning staff ,, can’t book into room till between 2-4 , food is slop I was just eating chips and salad all week , they have two huge table full of the same salads repeated and then three small hot servers full cold slop , rooms clean but very dated , curtains ripped , shower is terrible , pool Is small , beads to the blinds are just hanging throughout the corridors very dangerous for children , entertainment is non existent Out side there is literally nothing one tiny shop next door nothing for miles . Never stop there again

Plage sans trop de monde ce qui était parfait, la mer nickel repas, on arrive à trouver de tout, beaucoup de plat local , c'est genial la chambre/ l'hotel doivent etre rafraichit, 4 etoiles dans les années 80, mais je dirai que les murs sont fins, on entends tout, il faudrait tout remettre au gout du jour. le personnel est agreable et fait de son mieux. quant aux repas, si heure de pointe...il y a une longue queue devant le refectoire et il faut etre patient.

Dåliga nyckellås, fick gå till receptionen och byta kort två gånger mitt i natten. Hög musik på kvällen för mig som låg i sängen med feber. Nästan omöjligt att få solstol då alla var ”paxade” utan att någon låg på dem. Dåligt skött!!

I liked the location near the beach . The breakfast buffet was delicious and staff at the buffet were lovely.

The noise at night from the activities was extremely loud from 10pm-12am every night. The staff at reception were unhelpful I asked if we could be moved due to the noise and they never responded to that. When I asked questions about the area, the timetable of events etc the response was “check the app”.

Good choice of food and full of flavour. Lots of sunbeds with the choice to sit next to the pool or overlooking the beach. Sea was very clear and clean to swim in.

Some of the scheduled events were cancelled like the foam party and table tennis tournament.

The reception team dealt with our complaint very well and effectively, Miriam in particular showed outstanding customer service.

The hotel looked older than the one out of Fawlty Towers, we did half board and had to eat out. Went to breakfast and the queue was a 40 minute wait.

Close to sea

People put towels on sunbeds in the early morning even they don’t use, but to reserve to use hours later and we couldn’t find empty sunbeds. Thats the responsibility of the management and they shouldn’t let this. I couldn’t benefit from sunbeds and umbrellas

Qué nunca ponía la chica que hacía la habitación las toallas de tocador acorde con el nr. de personas qué residiamos allí...y la playa mucho oleaje( días de nuestra estancia, que seguro no será siempre así) y muchas piedras que hacen que pasear descalzo no sea agradable. Por decir algo!!!

Dont pay any attention to the naff reviews. Great hotel and location. We're on day 2 and so far we have no complaints. Large rooms, good layout and good standard. The sofa is a pull out double bed. Plenty of wardrobe space. Large balcony has a pool and sea and mountain view that is gorgeous. Wifi works well. Pool is large with plenty of loungers. Beach is grey sand with beautiful pebbles and calm easily swimable sea. Staff are friendly and have helped us woth a luggage issue. Food is varied and plentiful if you like salad, Fish, casseroles, potatoes and veg, pizza, bolognese, fruit, cold meats, cheese, soup, etc etc all the usual good stuff and its tasty and healthy. They give you a food box if you arrive late. Pool bar does often have small cue's but they clear fast enough and the drinks come in large measures. Life is good. So is this hotel!

El bufet dejo mucho que desear para ser un hotel de este nivel, y el hecho de tener que levantarse a las 8 de la mañana para pelear por una hamaca, ya que la gente las dejaba reservadas.

Stay away from this hotel. It’s so run down from broken floor tiles to mould in he bathrooms. You’ve to queue for breakfast as there’s not enough staff to clean the tables. Queue for drinks again two severing at the bar. The cleaners who are unfriendly do as least as they can, why would the staff care if the management don’t care. Evening entertainment….. what can I say…. Terrible. The food, it reminds me of school dinners. They don’t even have real jam, it’s like what you’d put on your ice cream out a squeezie bottle. This hotel has 100% been miss advertised & pulled the wool right over my eyes. The only good thing about it was the beach & sea on its door step.

La situación, limpieza y en general el trato amigable y correcto de todo el personal.

Hace unos 25 años ,estuve veraneando 3 años. Ahora, desde mi punto de vista, a mejorar: - el restaurante a la carta, no sirve mucha variedad y la calidad es mejorable. Pedimos por ejemplo, plato de paella que anunciaban recién hecha, y ni por asomo. Quizás a los extranjeros, les parezca normal. - el televisor del salón cubierto es pequeñísimo para ese salon. Coincidió la final del mundial; el salón estaba lleno y poco se podía ver. El televisor que se instaló en el exterior, también de un tamaño ridículo para el precio tan bajo que tiene hoy en día un televisor gigante, en comparación con el precio de un apartamento y estando completas las 216 habitaciones/apartamentos.. - las colas del buffet para almorzar son excesivas. Yo, no lo utilice por ese motivo. Aunque entiendo que en julio/ agosto sea difícil de resolver. Lo cierto es que mis recuerdos de hace 25 años, eran de un buffet sin colas de espera. - El gimnasio es un poco agobiante por el reducidísimo espacio. Es posible que no se utilice masivamente, pero es que con 5/6 personas, ya prácticamente no se cabe.

Ubicación, animación y comodidad en las habitaciones.

Buffet con poca variedad y de baja calidad. El parking tiene una política de cobro poco justa, aunque solo lo utilices un día te cobran el importe correspondiente a toda la estancia. Suelo muy resbaladizo en la piscina.

No coffee machine and no good coffee in the hotel. AC issues and bad odor in the unit. Dinner not worth. Staff varied between friendly and bad attitude.

Super Lage, direkt am Meer mit schöner Anlage. Die Pool-Anlage ist mega sauber und gut gepflegt. Frühe Platzreservation empfohlen.

Anstehen fürs Essen war extrem nervig. Zuwenig Platz für soviele Leute. Das Essen war gut, aber eigentlich wenig abwechslungsreich. Im Zimmer war Kühlschrank defekt, Aircon defekt, Dusche defekt. Der Zimmerservice war schlecht. Es war nie alles gemacht. Das Personal ist ok, aber nicht sehr zuvorkommend. All Incl. war mal inklusive gewissen Angeboten, mal ohne.

La excelente ubicación y la cercanía del personal. Destacar al socorrista y encargado de las toallas , Mohamed ; es encantador .

Nuestra experiencia fue muy decepcionante. La cena y el desayuno se pagan aparte. La comida de la cena estaba muy buena, pero todas las bebidas son de pago, e incluso no había agua en la habitación. El servicio es muy básico y no está a la altura de lo que esperábamos. La habitación estaba sucia, con las paredes manchadas. Además, las fotos publicadas en Internet no reflejan la realidad del alojamiento. Lo peor es que este lugar arruinó la sorpresa que habíamos preparado. No lo recomendaríamos.

Just came back from this hotel and I have to say it was the best family hotel i have been too,exceptional staff from front of house to cleaners,and the food was so good with such a variety, around the pool and swimming pool so good,well done to all.

Airco was underpowered and didn’t cool good enough! especially on top floor of the hotel because of the roof getting hot from the sun during the day. We were offered money back or a change of room. We got a room on the second floor, airco was the same ans still underpowered but because of not being on the top floor it was just doable with the temperature Pool was fine but like most of the hotel looked rundown

Onvriendelijk personeel. Geen info te vinden voor bus, uistappen… Veel lawaai in restaurant, lange wachtrij, te weinig personeel, vuile borden, plastieke bekers. Zeer slechte animatie. Hotel ligt apart, niets te beleven in de buurt. 30 min stappen naar Nerja Geen vier sterren ! Prijs te hoog!!!!!

Wasn’t 4star. Crockery either chipped or dirty. Headboard in room dirty. Hotel definitely not 4 star

It looked so nice on pictures but the appartment was very disappointing and the lunch restaurant had bad/cold food and dirty dishes . We stayed for 2 hours and left. Very disappointed - was expecting a LOT more for 4000DKK Per night 😓
