O quarto era super grande e confortável, com ventoinha e uma casa de banho privada super gira com pedras a fazer de chão! Adorei o facto de haver uma piscina, pequeno almoço incluído e de organizarem o safari por nós! A familia que gere o alojamento foi incansável e super simpática! Não havia um chuveiro perto da piscina e no dia seguinte instalaram um so porque eu mencionei o assunto.

Familia muy atenta. La habitación estaba muy bien y la cama era cómoda. La piscina está genial para refrescarte. Desayuno rico. El alojamiento es muy barato porque el beneficio lo obtienen del safari.

Krásné místo. vřele doporučujeme. Velmi slušná a milá rodina. Dům i pokoje jsou prostorné, vzdušné a čisté. Dům je architektonický uživatelsky velmi dobře řešen. Má vnitrní i venkovní přístup na terasy, k pěknému bazénu. Lokalita je naprosto klidná. Dobře přístupná z hlavní ulice, kde jsou zastávky autobusů. Rodina nabízí veškerou pomoc hostům. zajistí safari i ayurvédského lékaře (welness, masáže, ale i medicína!). Co ale považuji za výjimečnost - paní domu je excelentní kuchařka. Nabízí Srí Lanskou kuchyni, která je povznesena k dokonalosti :-). Beautiful place. Highly recommended. Very polite and nice family. The house and rooms are spacious, airy and clean. The house is very well designed in terms of architecture and usability. It has both internal and external access to the terraces and a nice swimming pool. The location is absolutely quiet. Easily accessible from the main street, where there are bus stops. The family offers all the help to the guests. They will arrange a safari and an Ayurvedic doctor (wellness, massages, but also medicine!). But what I consider exceptional is - the lady of the house is an excellent cook. She offers Sri Lankan cuisine, which is elevated to perfection :-).

Amazing hosts; very warm, always smiling and couldn't do enough to help, even helping cut out mangos! Breakfast was delicious and the swimming pool was so refreshing! Walking distance to food and shops, and local guides able to pick you up from directly outside the property. Best thing is you don't have to book a tour through them to stay which takes a lot of stress away if you have already pre-booked. Its even on one of the 'bread man' routes!

Spent one night but for the price I paid it was perfect. Pool to cold down after the hot day and friendly family. Loved their bathroom with stones on the floor!

Great location, nice pool to relax, close to shops, restaurants, and they provide the safari jeep pickup at the door.

It's the second time that we stayed with this wonderful family! We were passing through the area and decided to spend another night at this lovely homestay. As the first time, we really enjoyed the comfy beds, the great breakfast, the facilities and the warm and kind family.

in one room the quality of the bathroom was poor. There was no place to hang the clothes . Room was full of ants and the space between the bathroom door and wall allowed mosquitoes to come in. The drain was chocked . The mosquito net was stinking and so was the bed linen. When we informed the owner, he had the audacit;y; to say that no one complained about it . The latches on th;e main door and toilet did not work. He promised to get mosquito repellent , but did not turn up. There is no board to identify the property and he mostly he does not respond to calls.

Such a lovely family running this place. Everything was so easy, we stayed for one night to go to Udawalawe and they arranged everything, including our transfer to Ella after. Safari + Stay costs about £50. Breakfast was ready when we got back from safari and the pool is great for escaping the heat!

We had the most incredible stay at Wild Safari House. The staff here are the most friendly and kind people you will ever meet. They organised a Safari with us in Udawalawe. Our Safari driver was incredible, very safe and knowledgeable. The rooms and facilities were clean, delicious breakfast included and a beautiful pool to cool down from the heat. Highly recommend anyone visiting to stay here. Thank you 🤩

La piscina es agradable, el personal es atento y ponen facilidades. Además hablan inglés correctamente. La habitación es espaciosa y el baño limpio y lujoso. El desayuno vale MUCHO la pena.

Notre chambre etait au rez de chaussee, sans vue, propre, les draps etaient propres mais le matelas degoutant. La chambre était bruyante.

Logement très bien placé pour profiter du parc national d'Udawalawe. Les hôtes sont très accueillants (avec un petit verre de jus de pastèque à notre arrivée) et disponibles pour organiser le safari. La chambre est confortable avec tout le nécessaire (serviettes, draps, savon). Le petit déjeuner est copieux et excellent ! Il est également possible de profiter du repas du soir (tout aussi délicieux que le petit déjeuner). La piscine est idéale pour se rafraîchir après les fortes chaleurs de la journée.

Ce fut l’un des plus plaisant séjours de notre voyage au Sri Lanka. La famille nous a reçu avec gentillesse et générosité… la nourriture était délicieuse et généreuse. L’emplacement est idéal, tranquille mais a deux pas du centre ville. Le safari était a la hauteur de nos attentes. Le véhicule était tres confortable. Et la piscine un plus rafraîchissant.

Malheureusement, malgré les efforts des propriétaires la qualité de l’eau dans la piscine s’est détériorer. Nous sommes cependant persuadé qu’ils corrigeront la situation rapidement…

Ce séjour était très décevant. Le propriétaire n’est pas sérieux. Limite pas honnête. Le lieu de l’hébergement ne correspond pas à celui de l’annonce. Le propriétaire nous a logé dans une simple maison située à un endroit différent de l’annonce (heaven Green resort, les photos sont trompeuses, il n’y a pas de proximité avec le parc éléphants). Il nous a logé dans 2 chambres à 10$ à la place des bungalows que nous avions loués pour 60$. La plupart des services repris sur l’annonce n’étaient pas présents dans cette maison. A aucun moment il ne nous en a informé. Il nous a juste donné rdv à un autre lieu que celui de l’hôtel. C est en nous donnant les chambres que nous nous en sommes aperçus. Nous sommes allés lui dire que le lieu ne correspondait pas, il a prétexté que le Greenwood Udawalawe Safari Resprt était en travaux depuis plusieurs mois… Après échange avec lui, il nous a réduit le prix. Bref, à éviter…

Well to be honest, there were a lot of good things. It was close to the main street, but still quiet and away. The family was very nice and helpful. Breakfast was nice. Also booked a safari through them. It was 18000 LRK per person

So is it a scam? All the rumors about the whole town and scams regarding safari and cheap stays. It was so unclear at the beginning. But after a long research we realised that the prices are the same everywhere so there is not really a scam. Our jeep was one of the better ones compared. It was OK after all. In 2026 Feb the enterance to the park was ~11 000 LRK per person and the rest was for the actual safari.

The hotel was very affordable, and the quality of the room and pool was excellent. Everything was clean and well maintained. The staff was truly exceptional. We arrived around 12:30 AM and were warmly welcomed. They quickly arranged a driver for our 5:00 AM safari at a fair price, and even prepared breakfast for us at 4:00 AM during Ramadan. Perfect stay.

Ich war eine Nacht hier, um safari zu machen. Die Familie sind sehr herzliche Menschen. Es ist auch naheliegend an Nationalpark. Empfehle die Unterkunft von Herzen☺️

The family was adorable! The room and bathroom were very good - clean, functional. The meal and breakfast were very complete and excellent. We discovered new flavors, which was great for the price! Last but not least, the safari 😍😍😍: it was a real eye-opener. We got to see lots of animals, and with the colors at the end of the day it was great. I highly recommend going with them! What's more, we used their taxi service: super professional, on time, nothing to complain about!

It was a very quiet stay, with a clean room and a charming bathroom. The owners of the hotel were very friendly and helpful. The food was delicious. The hotel's safari service was also excellent, a great service at a reasonable price. I highly recommend this to everyone visiting Udawalawe.

Very nice accommodation, friendly staff. Very clean rooms especially the bathroom. They served us delicious Sri Lankan food. We had been on safari twice in Sri Lanka, but this was our third time in Udawalawe and it was organized by this hotel. They provided us with a young driver with 10 years of experience and knowledge and a jeep. He explained everything about each animal, especially the lifestyle of elephants. This was the best safari we had in Sri Lanka. In fact, organizing the safari with the hotel was the best. Thank you very much for everything. We recommend this hotel and safari to anyone.

The location is great. The family are very kind and accommodating, speaking very good English. I was offered tea on arrival. I ordered breakfast as an extra, which was a traditional Sri Lankan breakfast. It was delicious and great value for money. They also offer safari which I didn't take as this stay was a quick connecting stop to another destination. Communication prior to check-in was very easy.

This house is very close to a lake and there are many mosquitos in the area. There is no mosquito net in the room I stayed in. Despite Insect repellent, I was badly bitten, so take precautions if you are prone to mosquito bites. Otherwise, it was a very pleasant stay..

The homestay is run by a lovely local family who went out of their way to make us feel at home. Their warm hospitality truly enhanced our experience, making us feel like part of their family. The rooms were clean, cozy, and well-maintained, providing a perfect retreat after a day of exploring the nearby attractions. What stood out the most was the family’s knowledge and passion for the local wildlife, particularly the elephants. They provided us with excellent tips and even helped us arrange a safari, ensuring we had the best experience possible. Overall, Wildlife Safari House is an excellent choice for anyone visiting Udawalawa, especially if you're traveling with children who love nature. We left with fond memories and a desire to return!

While we enjoyed our stay, there are a few areas that could use improvement. The rooms were quite small, which made it a bit challenging to move around, especially with luggage. Additionally, the facilities could benefit from some upgrades. A hot water shower would be a welcome addition, as it was missing during our stay. Finally, mosquito nets are essential in this area, and it would be great if they were provided in the rooms to ensure a more comfortable night's sleep.

The jeepsafari was an absolute highlight! The driver knows the park very well and took all the time. He also didn’t go where all the jeeps where, so most of the times we saw the animals all for ourselves! We actually loved the place to stay, with AC and a original bathroom. Breakfast is amazing!

Everything! The family was the kindest and served us amazing homemade Sri Lankan food when we arrived in the evening. They spoke very well English and were interesting in getting to know you, felt like home! Our room was clean, good temperature with ac and the most comfortable bed. We had a really good nights rest here before staring the safari early in the morning which we also booked through this accommodation. You could tell the driver had good experience of the national park and the animals we saw. Two of the family’s children joined us in the safari and the younger boy told us some information about things we saw during the tour which we really appreciated! After safari the breakfast was served when we got back and it was also very good! You get a lot of food, more than you can eat. The accommodation also booked our taxi to mirissa for us after check-out. Couldn’t recommend it more!

The staff is amazing!! We had 7 aaccomodations in Sri Lanka, but this one was the best! The family gives its best to make sure everything is ok. The dinner and breakfast were incredible - local food prepared by the host. The house is very clean, so are the rooms and bathrooms. They also arranged transport for us, as well as safari trip which was an incredible experience with a very nice man who knew so many things about animals. Totally recommend this accommodation!! You won’t regret it. Best family in Sri Lanka! Not to mention the price which is very very good!!

This place is a winner! Lovely host and a lovely house. So clean and comfortable. We wished we could take the room with us on our travels. Host organised a brilliant safari for us and fed us with a Sri Lankan feast for dinner and breakfast. This place should charge double what they do imo.

The host family are all lovely and very helpful. The safari they organised was great and they even made dinner for us one night which was excellent. The facilities were very modern and clean. Overall I was very comfortable here and had a good time.

The internet is not great but that is to be expected in the jungle and didn't bother me at all.

Easy to find and well-located, not far from a major intersection and close to shops and restaurants. The family running the hotel is very friendly and communicates well in English. There's an option to order safaris through them, but without any pressure from the owners. The safari we booked through our hosts was excellent—the driver was very attentive, spoke good English, and had a great knowledge of the animals in Udawalawe National Park. We were able to see many species, from the smallest to the largest, including elephants and crocodile, of course. Don't miss the chance to have dinner prepared by the owners—the food is delicious, traditional Sri Lankan cuisine prepared with attention to guests' needs. We were a group with various dietary requirements, and everyone was well taken care of. The breakfast were tasty and varied. The rooms are small but clean, and the bathrooms are also clean.

Excellent stay at Wildlife Safari Guest House. Brilliant hosts who looked after us so well and made sure we had everything we needed. They also arranged our safari at a competitve rate, and provided a lovely filling breakfast on our return. We stayed here with friends and enjoyed using the upstairs lounge to have a drink and play cards. Would reccommend this place to anyone!

Had a wonderful welcome and time at this guesthouse. The room and whole place was spotless clean. Every member of the family tried to make feel good. The boy are learning English so we had a good conversation. They arranged a Safari tour for me and the oldest son Yenuja ask if he could join me. There was no better guide then him.
