Rats/Mice! One of which ate through my watch strap during the night. My watch was on the bedside locker. Also ate holes in two items of clothing. Makes me feel sick to think they were around us while we slept. Management didn’t seem surprised. Not happy with how they handled the situation either. They immediately cancelled my booking on booking.com so that I couldn’t write a review but thankfully booking.com sorted this

Scam beware . Option for room only is untrue he will make you pay for the safari or cancel your room This was a scam. We booked the room only option and once we arrived the manager told us if we didn’t book the safari too through him he would cancel our rooms and we’d have to find alternative accommodation. At half 9 at night, two girls being told they would be kicked out if they didn’t comply was very threatening and made us feel very uncomfortable. (Also no towel in one room, no sheet in the other and no WiFi but the forced safari kinda trumped those little things)

Das Zimmer befindet sich in einem sehr schönen Garten. Das Frühstück war super, Mittag und Abendessen auch (war den zusätzlichen Preis definitiv wert). Organisation der Safari war super, haben leckeres Frühstück und einen guten Guide bekommen für einen fairen Preis.

We actually did not stay at the property even though we booked. The day before our checkin, a person from hotel called and mentioned that they have to cancel our booking due to a funeral of an immediate family member of the owner. Normally hotels don’t close on such person events.

Het was top! We hebben ontzettend genoten van de gastvrijheid van de familie. De kamer was heel mooi en schoon. We werden in de watten gelegd, niets was te veel op een heel prettige en niet opdringerige manier. We hebben 2 x gebruik gemaakt van de taxiservice, de safari en 2 x diner en 1 x lunch. En niet te vergeten een hele mooi tuin. De perfecte plek om even rustig aan te doen. Een absolute aanrader. Ze hebben maar 2 kamers, dus heel kleinschalig.

The location of the cottage is fantastic, a bit deeper in the jungle but easily accessible by tuk tuk or taxi, also walkable distance to the main road. The room is nicely designed with massive glass window to admire nature surrounding. Very very clean. We were warmly welcomed by the Host and also I have to mention: we had here the best breakfast in Sri Lanka. Thank you !

I came across this place by chance while looking for a room, and I'm so glad I did. There's only a very small sign. It's all very modern, clean, with attached bathrooms. The family and neighbors are very kind, treat their guests with love, and prepare various dishes upon request. They can help you organize a safari in Udawalawe.

Gemini and her mother were absolutely delightful hosts. Very friendly, helpful and welcoming. They made us feel at home right away. The evening meal of various curries was delicious. Breakfast was ridiculously generous, we couldn't possibly eat it all! Gemini's brother Shantha took us on a safari trip and he was a wonderful guide and good driver. He was brilliant at pointing out all the animals and birds. A truly memorable experience.

This was the perfect place for me to stay for my Safari trip. The host was delightful, and was an excellent cook! The meals served were amazing. A lot of thought and attention has been given to detail in this accommodation, from the lighting to the very comfortable and unique chairs on the balcony. I would definitely stay here again.

Lovely family owned small hotel. The owner & his family are really welcoming. The organized a safari for us and we had a delicious curry buffet as dinner (best we had so far in Sri Lanka!). After the morning safari we could do a late check out and even have some fresh breakfast. All was super clean & everyone was so friendly. Sadly we could stay only 1 night. Highly recommended if you want to visit Udawalawe!

Beautiful place with wonderful and kind staff. The rooms were great, comfy beds, air conditioning and a welcome drink on arrival. The staff sorted a safari for us and we had a delicious Sri Lankan meal for dinner. Loved this place.
