Son Julia Country House & Spa

We have just returned from a four night stay in Son Julia. We have been visiting Son Julia on a regular basis for the last 10 years and unfortunately after our recent visit we will not be returning for the following reasons: 1. While the rooms are clean and pleasant - the bathroom amenities were limited to bottled soap, shampoo and conditioner. There were no cotton wipes, cotton buds, face flannel or other five star amenities. 2. The in room coffee machine was broken. 3. The in room phones were broken. 4. Son Julia is a stunning property, and over the last ten years we have visited it during various seasons. The last time we were there we thought the maintenance of the property had been neglected as it was coming to the end of the season and the hotel was closing for winter a few days following our departure - but this was not the case on this occasion- as we visited in August (high season) - and the property appeared neglected in a number of areas. The pathway to the pool was dirty and littered with fowl and animal droppings. The windows in the hallways were unclean and also littered with bird droppings. The steps and stairwells on the outside of the buildings were littered with leaves and other debris as was the terrace at the adult pool.Some of the loungers at the adult pool were broken. It was also disappointing to see beach towels hanging from the balconies above the front entrance of the building. 5. Breakfast was reminiscent of Faulty Towers - and while there is a buffet with a wide array of breakfast buffet items - cooked options are available. However, one morning we sat for over 30 minutes and still did not get asked what we would like to order - it was also impossible to get the waiter’s attention - so we left without our cooked breakfast. This is a vast difference from the truly orchestrated days of Maria Jesus. 6. On previous visits to Son Julia a welcome drink was common practice, it was always a nice gesture after a long day travelling - it is disappointing that this is no longer their practice. Also, in other establishments where we have been repeat visitors this is often recognised in some small way - it is unfortunate that management choose to disregard this etiquette. 7. Historically this would have been predominantly an adult destination but the demographic has changed to very young familities, so tranquility is definitely no longer on the menu. On the positive side we ate both dinner and lunch in the restaurant and both the food and service were very good. The reception and house keeping staff were efficient, attentive and very friendly. However we feel it falls far short of its five star status.

Se echa en falta servicio de lounge bar con snacks durante el día y sobre todo después de las 22.00h para tomar alguna copa. La ubicación no permite salir a tomar nada en los alrededores y estaría bien tener esa posibilidad en una zona acogedora del hotel, que sitio, hay . Sería un puntazo.

We just had the most wonderful 5 nights at Son Julia . Our 4 th time ! So peaceful and relaxing. We loved sitting in our garden late afternoon. . The staff are all so lovely , very professional and friendly . Nothing is too much trouble for them to help you with anything . We had a special order for lunch today , seafood paella which was the best we’ve eaten during our trip. In fact all the food is high standard with excellent presentation . We are already talking about when we can return . Thankyou everyone .

Despite its quiet setting, it is very conveniently located for the town and offers easy access to Palma, S’Arenal and Es Trenc. There are two fantastic outdoor pools, including one exceptionally large pool that is perfect for swimming or relaxing. The restaurant was another highlight: the food was consistently excellent at breakfast, lunch and dinner, and the setting made every meal enjoyable. There is even a friendly little cat that wanders around the grounds and adds to the hotel’s charm. My room was quiet, comfortable and well maintained. For a business stay, the practical facilities were also very good, with reliable Wi-Fi and mobile signal, ample parking and an EV charger. The hotel also has a tennis court for guests. A relaxing and characterful hotel that combines a peaceful countryside atmosphere with excellent food, attractive surroundings and easy access to the surrounding area. I would happily stay again.

As with most hotels, the gym was limited. It contained cardio machines and some light weights.

Only comment I have is the bartenders and waiters were the best hospitality staff, pool bar staff didn’t know how to make any of the drinks of the menu (told us they didn’t know) and when you’re trying to order at the main restaurant they tend to walk off before you’ve finished ordering or only collect 1 person’s order.

We started our holiday at Son Julia for a couple of nights before going onto Port de Pollensa. We didn't really want to leave, it was so beautiful and peaceful. All the staff have that perfect balance of professional yet friendly which I think is quite difficult to achieve, so thank you. Our room was very spacious and cool with everything you would want, though we didn't like the shampoo/body wash much but we had a couple of small travel bottles so used these. The grounds and pools are amazing. We couldn't keep out of the main pool - one of the best pools we have ever experienced - wonderful. We ate in the restaurant both evenings which was a lovely experience though it would have been nice to maybe have had a couple of specials of the day, or even a barbeque one evening. So, overall we loved it so much that we cut short our visit to Port de Pollensa and returned for the last two nights of our holiday - bliss! Thank you Son Julia - we will be back!💃

Lovely setting and only 20 minutes drive from Palma airport. Great large room, excellent pools, very tasty breakfast and evening meal, very good air-con. and delightful staff. I would say this is one of the best 4 stars we have ever stayed, defintely better than some 5stars.

room was spacious and well appointed. breakfasts were very good. Restaurant meals were to a high standard. staff very helpful when needed. The hotel is in a rural setting 15-20 mins from the main airport. Staff at reception printed a map for us to walk to Llucmajor wich was very helpful.

the smaller swimming pool is close to the relatively busy road to Llucmajor and there was significant traffic noise.

We spent three wonderful days at Son Julia Country House, and everything exceeded our expectations. The hotel is beautiful, peaceful, and maintained to the highest standards. Sehr schönes Anwesen mit grossem Garten und 2 sehr schönen Pools. Sehr freundliches Personal.

Frühstück könnte ein bisschen "meditteraner" ausgerichtet sein. Ist aber grundsätzlich absolut okay. Sehr leckere Eierspeisen, die frisch zubereitet werden.

We loved this hotel. Our room was the most basic, but it was still spacious and light. Food was incredible and pools are great. This is a really good option if you want a sea of tranquility on mallorca

Lovely hotel with large rooms. Plenty of space and chairs around the pools and gardens which were bathed in sunshine during our week. The whole place is stunning, and relaxed. Palma is close (20 minutes) and easily reached by taxi but car hire is worthwhile as it opens up travel further afield for shopping, restaurants, and the like. Good quality restaurant at the hotel (but we’d have appreciated more variety as the menu never changed). The staff are top-of-their-game, and work hard to help guests enjoy their holiday. Normally we never return to the same hotel, but Son Julia may be the exception !

This was the 4th stay for us over 20 years. We have been with our children when they were 6 and 4, teenagers, adolescents and this time on our own. Each stay has been perfect with wonderful staff, excellent food, wine and facilities. All areas, inside and around the pools, are spotlessly clean and housekeeping staff are very attentive and thorough. Travel to and from the airport is quick and efficient with local taxis. Despite a busy time of day, the ride only took 15 mns. The atmosphere is quiet and calm but busy with a variety of families and couples. The rooms have calm, neutral tones and are fairly minimalistic but with everything you need. Good storage and space. Overall, good value for money. We sampled lots of different dishes and wines from the menu for lunch and dinner and all were excellent quality and value. Breakfast is great with everything you could wish for. Children are also well catered for. Special mention- Lydia who is head of breakfast and also works through lunch service, was a first class member of staff. We looked forward to seeing her each day. She speaks 5 languages and made everyone feel welcome. She was very professional but friendly and warm. Lydia deserves promotion. Possible suggestions for improvement- The cooked menu lacks a little imagination although all the staples are there The toiletries were not to our liking. I wish I had brought my own.

The room we were in did not have very good hot water, however we were offered a different room which we felt was a downgrade as it was less than half the size. We decided to stay in the original room which was lovely apart from the water issue. We found the onsite restaurant quite expensive.

Truly 1st class hotel. Luxury. Staff are so friendly and helpful. This has to be the best hotel I have ever stayed in Attention to detail is second to none! Would highly recommend.

This is a very peaceful finca with some lovely spacious rooms and a nice restaurant both inside and out when the weather is warmer. The staff are excellent and some like Martin, Aurora and Lydia have been there a long time and are great fun. The rooms with large garden patios are especially in demand. My only complaint since we last stayed 3 years ago is that there is still no air conditioning in the gym and even in May it makes it very uncomfortable to work out. A car is essential and the hotel recommends Hipercar who we found an excellent choice in Can Pastilla. It’s a comfortable 20 minutes drive into Palma where there are plenty of underground car parks.

Excellent services, staff and food. It was my birthday and staff were all aware of it and wished me happy birthday and decorated the room, with cake and cava in the morning. Amazing pool area with a bar. Would definitely recommend

Le bâtiment d’époque est majestueux. Les jardins sont très beaux.

La route derrière l’hôtel est particulièrement bruyante. Les chambres sont un peu vétustes et simples, elles manquent de charme. La climatisation n’était pas enclenchée et il faisait trop chaud dans la chambre.

We have just returned from 5 days at Son Julia (17th April) We cannot express how much of an amazing hotel this is! The rooms were clean and spacious- the shower was incredible and the beds were comfy. The staff couldn’t do enough for you and were so friendly and attentive. The food was delicious so much choice at breakfast. Dinner and lunch in the restaurant was delicious also and compared to restaurants nearby competitively priced. The location is ideal- 20mins from Palma airport. You could stay within the hotel for your stay as it’s just a relaxing environment with tennis courts 3 pools and a spa surrounded by beautiful smelling trees and plants. It’s just so peaceful! We hired a car and the hotel was a great base to explore the island from - the staff advised us of a rental company to use and that was perfect. Anyone travelling to Mallorca need to stay here you will not regret it!

We rented Son Julia Country house for my 40th birthday - best decision we could have done. The rooms are absolutely amazing, stuff super professional and helpful and the view/hotel is incredible. The graden with the outdoor pools just makes it a perfect place to stay at. 20 min with taxi from the airport makes it easily accessible and very nice for either a long stay or a weekend.

Eine sehr schöne und ruhige Anlage. Das Personal war ausnahmslos zuvorkommend und herzlich, man hat sich direkt sehr wohl gefühlt. Die Zimmer waren auch sehr schön und grosszügig, die Betten sehr gross und bequem. Wir haben das Frühstück sehr genossen. Es gibt eine gute Auswahl und man kann Tee, Kaffee und Eierspeisen ganz bequem am Tisch bestellen. Wir haben auch den Tennisplatz samt Equipment genutzt. Es wurde nicht zu viel benutzt, so dass wir immer unsere Wunschzeiten buchen konnten. Generell war die Hotelanlage nicht zu überfüllt, man hat immer einen Platz am Pool bekommen (es gibt 2 Aussenpools) und es lagen frische Handtücher immer bereit.

Wir haben unseren Aufenthalt im Oktober im SON JULIA spontan gebucht (nach zwei Tagen Stadttrubel in Palma) und waren begeistert. Das Gutshaus und die Anlage sind gepflegt und weitläufig und die Gratwanderung zwischen traditionellem Charme und modernem Komfort mehr als gelungen. Das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis ist dabei nicht allzu abgehoben, wie man es in dieser Kategorie erwarten könnte. Hervorzuheben sind unserer Meinung nach die geräumigen Zimmer, großes Bad, luftiger Schlafraum (wir hatten die Superior Kategorie), alles super gepflegt und sauber!!! Danke Zimmerservice!!! Die ServiceMitarbeiter, nett und zuvorkommend ohne aufdringlich zu sein. Das dazugehörige à la carte Restaurant ist ausgezeichnet, die Portionen üppig, der Preis dem Niveau entsprechend. Wer es günstiger mag, wird kulinarisch in Llucmajor Zentrum fündig, welches mit dem Taxi unkompliziert erreicht werden kann. Das Frühstücksbüffet klein aber fein, wurde regelmäßig aufgefüllt. Aus der Küche gab es im Preis inbegriffene Eierspeisen und Crêpes auf Bestellung. Uns war nach drei Tagen klar, dass wir unseren Aufenthalt in diesem Haus verlängern wollten. An dieser Stelle möchten wir uns nochmal ganz herzlich bei den Damen an der Rezeption bedanken, die sich zusammen mit dem Hotelmanager um jeden anfallenden Wunsch umgehend gekümmert haben. Die zwei wunderschön angelegten Außenpools sind auch noch zu erwähnen. Das Spn Julia liegt relativ nah an der Hauptstraße nach Llucmajor. Uns hat es nicht gestört, allerdings ist es nicht zu vermeiden, dass die Straßengeräusche dezent im Hintergrund zu hören sind.

This is a cool property that represents a unique experience and the vibe of the island. I would totally book it again. My room was great. Breakfast was great. The garden and pool areas could use a little bit of work but are also good overall. Overall, a good experience.

Beautiful grounds, friendly and helpful staff.

We didn’t think it lived up to a 5 star hotel when compared to other places we have stayed. The rooms were quite basic. It’s a touch noisy from the main road too. Curtains broken in the room. The rooms aren’t soundproof so you hear people next door and also someone kept moving around furniture very early each morning. The sunbeds around the pool were stained. The vibe around the pool could have been improved with better music, and it would have been nice to have food at the pool.

Overall, a fantastic experience, mainly because of the wonderful staff and unbelievably good food. On our first day, we initially had worries about the road noise, you can hear it ‘sometimes’, not all the time, but it’s important to know this. It’s not completely silent. However, our experience just got better and better. My partner is a bit of a chef herself, and we both agree; the food is exceptional. Worth the cost. Good portions too. We went to Palma to eat for 2 nights but I’ll admit, the hotel’s restaurant was better than the best restaurant we went to in the city. Even lunch was exquisite! The staff are brilliant. Even to the point when they remember little detail from one day to the next, such as the beer I had the day before. Attentive and happy staff; I can’t stress how much of a difference this makes to the experience for guests. We’d previously stayed at Zoetry, which is an amazing location and grounds, beautiful surroundings, but the staff at Son Julia are miles better, and the food smashes it out the park. Only slight niggle is occasionally the music by the pool is a little loud, but it was turned down for half the time, which was nicer for us personally. I understand though, that other folk like a bit more of a party atmosphere. With the road and pool music, it was going to be a 4/5, but honestly, I can’t thank the staff enough for their warm service, and overall it quickly became a clear 5/5. Beautiful grounds, very quiet hotel (nice!), perfect rooms, very clean, stunning eating area, romantic - especially on evenings, and again; 10/10 staff and food. To the manager - please thank your staff on our behalf. They’re doing an excellent job, clearly you look after them well.

Stunning property- amazing pool with ample sun beds and cabanas. Lovely room with terrace. Staff were extremely courteous, helpful and polite. Exquisite food- eggs Benedict in the morning was outstanding!

Just a suggestion- perhaps some anti mosquito measures for outside dining.

Wonderful hotel in beautiful grounds with very helpful staff and a unique atmosphere.

We have a time share at Son Antem and have not had the opportunity to stay at Son Julia. However, in the past, we have always eaten dinner there. This year, we wanted to spend a longer time on Mallorca, so we decided to book the Son Julia - as did my sisters. It was dreamy. The rooms are gorgeous - huge and well appointed. The Staff is professional, warm, kind, and so on top of everything. The breakfasts are magnificent - and the dinners are equally as delicious (wonderful selections and lovely wine list). The pools are gorgeous. We all loved it so very much and I am only sad that I had to check out.

Lovely and calm place, amazing staff and service. The breakfast and the food in the restaurant was great too. We booked massage in the spa and it was very nice. We loved our 2 night stay.
