Room was a decent size and the bed was comfortable. Quirky layout with separate shower room and toilet. Decor in the hotel accentuated with references to London with the lift featuring a red English Telephone box design which I found amusing. Great location in the centre of the town, near to sites of interest including the Chateau, and the Cavalry Museum.

Shower room was a little on the small side.

In my room there was no bathroom - the shower cubicle was in the room & there was a small seperate toilet room.

Large comfortable bedroom, Very helpful and friendly staff. Bookable Car parking with ev charging was available which was very useful, (charged at a flat fee so id recommend arriving with a Lower battery to make the most of it). Fun quirky hotel.

Tout était très bien. Personnel chaleureux. Décoration personnalisée, tout est fait pour qu'on se sente bien (coin terrasse, bar, salle pdj...) Le petit déjeuner est au top, avec des produits de bonne qualité et de producteurs locaux (sucré, salé, frais, fruits ....) Emplacement exceptionnel. Le parking est très pratique. La chambre est fonctionnelle et confortable.

We only had one night, and wish we could have stayed longer. It's a beautiful building with lovely spaces to sit in. Our host was helpful in suggestions where we could walk to. We'd arrived early enough to be able to have a lovely boat trip along the river, and then walk along to l'Offard boat bar for a drink, then back into the square for supper in one of the many restaurants. Breakfast was great, with nice home made things.

Wir waren mit dem Motorrad unterwegs. Obwohl wir keinen Parkplatz reserviert hatten, wurde für uns gleich ein Platz im Innenhof gefunden. Große Auswahl beim Frühstücksbuffet. Perfekte Lage für einen Spaziergang in die Innenstadt und zum Schloss

De parkeerplaatsen zijn zo dicht op elkaar dat we met een middelgrote suv de laatste 2 dagen er niet meer tussen konden komen om te parkeren. Het hotel vond dit jammer voor ons.

L'emplacement de l'établissement, le confort de la literie, le parking privé sur place très pratique, l'amabilité et la disponibilité de tout le personnel, le petit déjeuner de bonne qualité servi dans un joli cadre, le décor de l'hôtel.

L'insonorisation (bruits provenant de la rue le matin) pourrait être améliorée.

Everything was lovely and the staff extremely friendly and helpful. The location is perfect for enjoying the heart of Saumur, which is a beautiful historic town and a real gem. The quirky 'boutique' decor doesn't overwhelm - it's clever how they've taken a venerable landmark and breathed new life into it. Beds v comfortable. Wish we could have stayed longer. Don't miss walking on the nearby Cessart bridge to see the gorgeous view of the castle and old town, reflected in the Loire. And read the incredible WWII story of the Battle of Saumur (Wikipedia).

At 14 euros each the breakfast seems overpriced (but it was excellent), as is common in hotels everywhere now. You do have options as there are cafes nearby, and a small Carrefour supermarket on the parallel street. 10 euros for overnight secure parking is probably fair; we were travelling in two cars, and managed to find a cheaper space and charger nearby for one of them. Probably wouldn't manage that at the height of the season, and the hotel's secure parking is only half a dozen spaces; remember this is a city-centre hotel in a place which can't develop multistoreys by its nature, and plan/book ahead.

The Originals provides a very nice breakfast, in the middle of the heatwave the room was lovely cool and the hotel is in a great location. The staff member who checked us in (Gaspard?) was very helpful directing us to the best to view to see the partial eclipse. Observing the eclipse from the castle was one of the main highlights of our trip.

The bathroom was a little small but it wasn’t a problem for us.

Une belle chambre assez grande, des magnifiques espaces commun: salon, salle à manger, english bar et terrasse. Le décor très soigné et l'amabilité du proprietaire.

Pour accéder à la salle de bains il y avait dans ma chambre une marche en bois, que même si assez large et bas, a risqué de nous faire trébucher la nuit plus d'une fois.

Darts game in London Themed lobby was a big hit with teenagers as seniors alike. Great breakfast with scrambled eggs and bacon as you would find in UK, Combined with fresh French croissants and baguettes. Garage for bikes was secure, and easily to access. Effective AC in heat wave.

Squeaky doors and automatic light in hallway, made overnight toilet runs disruptive.

Very noisy street (woke up several times to loud road sweeper) Lacked atmosphere, very quiet. No music playing etc. We were the only people in the bar area and it closed at 10pm. Also we booked superior room and it was very basic. Bathroom and toilet fan was very loud and sounded faulty. €7.50 to play darts

Das Hotel liegt mitten im Zentrum von Saumur und doch kann man bei offenem Fenster schlafen. Die Zimmer sind sehr individuell eingerichtet, das Bett bequem und es gibt eine Klimaanlage im Zimmer. Es gibt einen Parkplatz im Innenhof, den man vorab reservieren sollte, da die Parkplätze begrenzt sind, aber er ist mit einem Tor gesichert und man hat keine Probleme, wenn man eine Dachbox auf dem Auto hat und kann so auch Gepäck im Auto lassen.

The room was super small, we couldn’t even close the toilets door, that’s how tiny it was. Clearly didn’t feel worth for the money paid. Also, we were told that the breakfast was “very good” to quote, well it was quite mediocre to be perfectly honest. Eggs had a very strong taste, bacon was barely cooked. Overall underwhelming.

We loved our stay! The rooms were comfortable and spotlessly clean and the hotel itself is in a great location. We booked the parking and were slightly worried that our large Volvo 4x4 would be too big for the spaces but it was fine. The receptionist who was also running the bar was really helpful and we tried some lovely local wines including the cremant. Breakfast had a wide selection the next day and there were gluten free options too. Would definitely stay here again.

We enjoyed our stay. The hotel is in a central location, just a short walk from the Loire River, with plenty of restaurants and bars nearby. The secure parking next to the hotel was very convenient. The hotel offers value for money, the bar is excellent, and the breakfast was plentiful with a good choice of options. We would stay here again.

Excellent location for exploring Saumur. My room was light, with good AC and blackout curtains for sleeping. The bed was comfortable and the bedding was cosy. There was a small wardrobe for hanging items. The room was very clean and the housekeeping staff were super efficient.

The shower room was quite small, despite the cubicle being easy to access once inside. There was no fridge in the room and also nowhere in the hotel to get water on our first night, when we didn't realise that the shops closed quite early.

The location is excellent - close to the centre of town but also peaceful. Great to have a secure car park for my motorcycle. Reception was good and the room was very comfortable, especially the bed. Shower good too. The staff were lovely, particularly the following morning when I had a problem with my motorcycle. Breakfast was excellent.

The room we had was pleasantly furnished. Good, secure parking to the rear of the hotel. Very helpful staff. Good breakfasts, served in a delightful breakfast room, with plenty of light. Excellent location for the many restaurants nearby. If you are interested in WW2, then a visit to the Saumur Tank Museum is a must see, (allow a good 3 hours or more!!). Also the Cavalry museum, and of course Saumur Castle.

Not allowing enough time to see all we wanted to! But that can be for another holiday in Saumur!!

The England game was on the evening we stayed and the receptionist couldn’t work the TV so we couldn’t watch the match. The hotel is a “London” themed hotel so we expected to be able to watch it. The receptionist was not apologetic at all. I do not think the hotel is good value for money.

The soundproofing could have been better, the room next door put their television on at 5am and we could hear it clearly, also their message alert on their phone!

Wir haben uns über ein großes Zimmer mit Parkettboden und ein Bad mit begehbarer Dusche gefreut. Die zum Zimmer gehörige Miniterrasse konnten wir wegen der aktuellen Hitze leider nicht nutzen. Auch das Frühstück war sehr gut. Und wir hatten einen Parkplatz direkt am Hotel.

Es gab leider keinen kleinen Kühlschrank im Zimmer.

Although our room was beautiful with a great big bathroom, would have preferred option to pull a curtain across for privacy. We stayed in a very similar hotel in Vienna that had the same bathroom setup, but with the choice of pulling a curtain across, otherwise everything lovely.
