Le chemin qui permet d’accéder à l’hôtel est en très mauvais état ! Dommage que le petit déjeuner ne soit pas inclus dans le tarif !! Les tarifs des taxis proposés par l’hôtel sont exorbitants, 3 fois supérieurs a ceux via Grab !

Nous avons passé une semaine incroyable au Selectum Mangrove Resort et honnêtement, c’était un 10/10 du début à la fin. L’hôtel est impeccable, tout est toujours hyper propre et entretenu. Mais ce qui fait vraiment la différence, c’est le personnel et les propriétaires : nous n’avons jamais vu des gens aussi serviables, gentils et attentionnés. On se sent vraiment choyés pendant tout le séjour. Les chambres sont grandes, très propres et super confortables. Il y a la climatisation, de l’eau chaude dans la douche, et le ménage peut être fait quand on le souhaite, ce qui est vraiment appréciable. Tout est pensé pour qu’on se sente bien pendant le séjour. Le service est exceptionnel. Ils sont à l’écoute de tout, toujours avec le sourire, et font vraiment en sorte que tout soit parfait. La cuisine est aussi un énorme point fort : il y a une carte avec du choix tout au long de la journée, et tout est préparé minute avec de très bons produits frais. C’était super agréable de pouvoir prendre un bol de fruits pour le goûter ou manger quand on le souhaitait le matin. On sent qu’ils font très attention à la qualité de ce qu’ils servent et à l’expérience des clients. La piscine est géniale, la salle de sport est très bien aussi, et l’hôtel est idéalement situé à proximité d’Alona Beach. Ils peuvent même organiser des massages directement sur place. Franchement, on pouvait tout leur demander, ils trouvaient toujours une solution avec énormément de gentillesse. On recommande cet hôtel les yeux fermés et on reviendra avec grand plaisir. Merci encore à toute l’équipe pour cette semaine parfaite 🤍

The rooms were clean, spacious, and located by a beautiful, pleasant swimming pool. There was also an outdoor gym, which was well maintained and kept clean. Another great advantage was the on-site restaurant, where you could enjoy breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The staff were incredibly friendly and made you feel truly welcome. I also celebrated my birthday at the resort, and in collaboration with my family back home, they surprised me by decorating the entire room and arranging a cake, very lovely! Additionally, the location was perfect: just a few minutes by scooter from the busy beachfront shopping street, while still offering a მშვიდ and relaxing atmosphere.

Very quiet, great staff and owners are very happy to help arrange everything you need , recommending restaurants and trips and organising them for you . My husband even had a training session in the gym which was very helpful from the owner, who is very knowledgeable in all sport training. The swimming pool is very clean and gardens very pretty.

Nous sommes restés presque 3 semaines aux Philippines et nous sommes restés quelques jours dans cet hôtel.. Je ne peux que recommander. Tout le monde est au ptit soin. Les plats proposés sont excellents. Les chambres sont juste parfaites. On est au calme. Services au rdv (scooter/massages...) La piscine est la cerise sur le gâteau ! Amis français, (et tous les autres), si vous êtes a Panglao, vous pouvez y aller les yeux fermés. Merci a Sorine et aux Philippines ! Vous avez été extra !

Firstly the staff that work there, credit to you all. From our arrival, you greeted us with friendly, warm smiles, were always on hand to help us, and attended all of our needs. We appreciate all of your very hard work, and you are a credit to the resort. They are lucky to have found hardworking staff like yourselves! The room was spotless and very comfortable, the pool was spotless too, also cleaned by the hardworking gardener/maintenance worker. The owners were also very friendly, and always at hand to help organise tours for us, and letting us sample their delicious homemade mango jam, and mango liqueur!! Definitely recommend guests to try the liqueur. Location for us was perfect, it was a bit away from the main area around Alona beach, but that was a bonus, as you could do your activities, and then know you're coming back to the peace and tranquility of the resort! It was one of the nicest accommodations we've booked, since arriving in the Philippines. Highly recommended.

Nous avons dîné une fois et le dîner était très bon. Nous avons pris 3 petits déjeuner et ils étaient également très bon avec des supers fruits. La responsable nous a arrangé les 2 transferts sans souci et à l heure. On a pu louer un scooter sur place. Nous avons testé les massages et c était des pro. Bref je recommande cet hôtel à 100%

We had an amazing one week stay here, the staff and owners are so welcoming and made us feel completely at home! Food was great, clean and spacious rooms and only a short distance on scooter from the town. I highly recommend this place and would definitely return :)

Stayed here for six nights and it was an awesome experience. The hotel is located in a chill area around 10 minutes away by tuktuk from the lively Alona Beach. Rooms are extremely clean and serviced daily, great Internet speed (one of the few hotels we stayed in Philippines that use Wi-Fi 6 routers). Even if it's a small hotel, they have a restaurant on site and offer breakfast, lunch and dinner. There are also good restaurant options in the vicinity. What makes the difference though is the very friendly staff and the owners especially, who made us feel like family. They are huge dog lovers which tells you what you need to know about them 😁. They also helped with the transfer from Port and back, last minute car rental during high season, organizing island tours and scuba diving with reputable companies. All in all, this hotel was the highlight of our Philippines trip and I would highly recommend it.

Der Weg von der Hauptstraße zum Hotel (ca 200m) recht holprig bzw matschig. Gym sehr rustikal, aber mit ein bisschen Kreativität kann man dort schon mal ein bisschen trainieren.

The swimming pool is great, and the staff always hand you a towel when you go for a swim. The room is very clean, with everything you need — a TV, refrigerator, hairdryer, and electric kettle. The blue-themed decor of the room looks beautiful, and the bed is very comfortable.

The last 200 meters of the bumpy road to the hotel are a bit difficult to walk or ride motorcycle.

Overall, the vibe was a bit off—not the staff’s fault, as they were likely just following the owner’s policies. They seemed to charge for everything—even a spoon I asked for. They also claimed to have the best scooter rental price, but we found a cheaper option nearby for 360 pesos.

I rarely write reviews, but after six months of travelling around Asia, this was by far the worst service we've experienced. To begin with, I had important business meetings during two of the days we stayed, and the power repeatedly cut out, leaving me without light or WiFi—essential for my work. Despite my partner informing staff that I was in meetings, they continued knocking on the door for non-urgent reasons, which was incredibly disruptive. There was no hot water when we arrived, although staff did fix this eventually. However, the hot water shuts off late at night, so if you return late or work evenings, be prepared for a cold shower. One night we had no running water at all and were given a large tub of water to wash with. The food is overpriced and mediocre, though the pancakes were decent. Even with no other guests in the restaurant, food took at least 30 minutes to arrive. While I could have overlooked many of these inconveniences, the attitude of the female owner was unacceptable. She was cold, dismissive, and treated her staff poorly—particularly the Filipino workers, which made for an uncomfortable and unpleasant environment. I eventually chose not to speak to her at all due to the clear lack of respect she showed others. (The male owner, in contrast, was polite.) There are also excessive and unreasonable rules—for example, you're not allowed to bring in outside food or drink, and will be charged if you do. It felt like another way to squeeze money from guests, especially considering the inflated food prices on site. One particularly absurd moment was being threatened with a charge for a "stained" towel—caused by a small amount of mascara and concealer. I was told they’d need to buy an entire new pack of towels (yes, really) because that’s how they’re ordered. I explained that I use white towels at home and it would come out easily in the wash, and even offered to wash it myself.

Absolutely spotless, the hotel is so well maintained and the room is comfortable with a nice hot shower. The pool area is great for relaxing with sun loungers and towels to use. The gym is great to keep you fit on your holidays. The owners of the hotel are so lovely and will be able to help you with anything you need. It was my birthday and they arranged flowers, balloons etc which was beautiful. They also took us on an island tour and arranged all of our transport when needed. And even stored our bags for a couple of days when we took an island trip. The staff are always around to answer any questions too. The location is great as it’s more of a local feel and not in the chaos of Alona and there is restaurants in walking distance or you can take a short ride to the busy town. Highly recommend booking this hotel for a stress free trip to Bohol

The comfort and cleanliness of the place and each rooms.

Location was perfect for peace and quiet and also perfectly located for tours and Alona. It was immaculately clean and the bed was super comfy. Hot water in the fabulous shower was so needed too. The menu was a Mediterranean style and the food was outstanding. We ate every night there as it was so good. Our hosts Sorina and Mihai and the staff were all beautiful and super friendly and couldn’t do enough for us. . The pool was the cleanest and coolest out of all the properties we have stayed. Sunbeds around the pool for chilling and the staff will bring cushions when you’re using them. We had our laundry cleaned there also, beautifully folded and ironed. We explored the chocolate hills on ATV, visited Tarsier sanctuary, saw the most perfect sunsets ever …Thank you for the best 5 days .. we love you all 🥰

Stayed 4 nights in Selectum Mangrove Resort. The resort is located in quiet place. There’s no disturbing noise but peaceful nature sound all the time. But it doesn’t mean that place is far away from the convenient facilities. We rent a scooter from resort, and it tooks about only 5min to alona beach area. Every facilities were super clean and comfortable. Pool is great to swim. It was clear that the owner is putting a lot of effort into maintaining the resort well. And most of all, every filipino staffs were super kind and helpful!! + We watched fireflies every night(on the big tree inside the resort)

Staff were friendly and always ready to help you! Best mattress I found in the Philippines, which meant a good night's sleep! Easy access to Alona Beach. Their pool is an excellent option for chilling between your snorkeling and country trips.

Selectum Mangrove Resort is located in a scenic area with beautiful palm trees, and the daily bottled water provided is a small, thoughtful gesture. However, despite the natural beauty, our experience was overshadowed by several issues. While the Filipino staff were kind and did their best, the atmosphere was negatively affected by the behavior of the European owners. The female owner in particular came across as cold and controlling, rarely greeting guests and often staring instead. It created a sense of judgment rather than hospitality, and it often felt like we were being watched or even talked about when walking past. There was also a strong sense of tight supervision over the staff, making the work environment feel uncomfortable and restrictive. There was also a man—possibly a relative—who stayed at the reception area in the evenings. He didn’t acknowledge guests, not even with a simple greeting, and we often saw him relaxing by the pool during the day. This lack of basic courtesy felt very unprofessional, especially in a small resort where guest interaction should matter. We were also charged ₱1000 for a makeup stain on a towel, which felt excessive and not in line with how other resorts handle similar situations. Housekeeping times were only mentioned in a contract and never explained to us verbally when we arrived, which led to some confusion and miscommunication. During our stay we even noticed a live crab in the swimming pool, which raised concerns about general maintenance, even considering the natural surroundings. Not ideal for a four star resort.  We do want to thank the nighttime Filipino lifeguard, who was genuinely kind and helpful. The local staff clearly do their best, but they work under management that lacks warmth and professionalism. Unfortunately, we left feeling uncomfortable and unwelcome, and wouldn’t recommend the resort unless there are significant changes in how it’s run.

The staff really really tried....

Well...where to begin. The owner of this resort is the cheapest and pettiest I've ever experienced in all of my 45 years and 43 countries I've travelled to... Completely idiotic rules and or policies that they rudely pressured the staff to try to enforce... they tried making us leave our room key at reception when leaving the property... not a suggestion to avoid loss or damage charges but actually saying it was mandatory...which would leave our posessions completely unsecured? You can only put soo much in a room safe. They charged for ice with our drink even though we had purchased the most expensive meal on their menu (and didn't warn us about the extra charge)... the pool wasn't available until 9am. When we requested an exception as we are up early (we are also super quiet and respectful) they said sure and told us they would change it to 7am; however, every morning after that...they put up hazard and dangerous chemical signs...until about 8:30... most mornings. Otherwise 9am. The food was the most expensive for the area and yet the most disgusting meals we had while there (except the breakfasts were mediorce and the garlic prawns were good). Anything ordered from the kitchen took 45mins to an hour- and even a simple cocktail (gin and tonic) took about 25 to 30 minutes... because of this I tried preordering ahead of time... One morning the breakfast was brought to us, before we were ready for it, so we put it in the fridge... within about 5mins after we did that, they cleared the place settings and cutlery... after about 10 mins when we were ready to eat- I went to ask for the cutlery back- and was told there would be an additional charge... luckily when I explained the situation, one of the lead staff agreed to waive it. The vibe was extremely uncomfortable, as you could tell the staff really wanted to help us, be were constantly worried about having to enforce the stupid rules...

Good place if you like to stay away from buzz. Small and neat, helpful staff.

This is a great location away from the hustle and bustle off the main st. Down a laneway which is dark at night (nothing to do with this resort as it’s local owned) so need a torch. We ate breakfast there and done the job, staff and owners couldn’t be more helpful. Word of warning if you don’t like dogs then don’t come but if like me you love them then come here. But honestly who doesn’t like dogs Pool & Gym are perfect if you want to relax and have a small workout

Super quiet and peaceful, very well organised. Not in the centre but easily reachable by tricycle (which they can arrange for you very speedily). The staff was just the best, super kind and helpful !

Overall, everything is well-equipped. The room is just a bit small, but the environment is very comfortable. The staff and owner are very warm and easy to communicate with—just let them know if you need anything. The road leading to the resort is a bit rough, but if you prefer a quiet place away from the crowds, you’ll love it here.

Difficult to walk at night. You have to go down a rough dirt road. Tuktuk would not drive down the road had to walk

totally clean, multiple towels, great size of the room. you can find a pool and gym. quiet location with a fine garden, 10 minutes by tuktuk to the crowded area around McDonalds. we tried also some dishes, all were tasty. easy access to do the Balicasag tour.

Really well designed ground floor bungalows set within a garden area, with good aircon, a little terrace and very clean.

Be aware that the property is located outside of Alona beach down a small track. It is no problem at all getting tricycles there and back quite cheaply or hire a scooter so not an issue. We did walk it on one occasion but I wouldn’t recommend walking.

The staff was wonderful. The room is very well equiped maybe some of the equipment are a little bit old but they are rennovating some rooms. They helped us with scooter renting and airport Shuttle. The gym is great !

The property looks new, the rooms and territory were very clean. The staff was friendly. Location is somewhat remote and quite, but we preferred it that way. Americano was good 🙂 The room was cleaned every 2 days, but we were informed about it in advance and it was totally fine.

Just one minor detail - the access road is unpaved and quite dark at night, I hope soon a better road will be built.

The layout was lovely and the room was very spacious. The pool was great and all the items available including the option for food if you choose. The staff were brilliant and extremely accommodating for us and helped us a lot in booking taxis / tricycles. Thank you so much for being so hospitable.

The only issue we have is not with the hotel but who they use for the tours / taxi (JM Travel & tours). That experience in itself was truly horrific and I really hope the hotel choose to partner with somebody else moving forward.

I like that the owner “Sorina” and her staff pay attention to small details and the cleaning level of the rooms. They do not allow eating in the room but you can eat in the terrace or by the swimming pool which I agree with to stop ants. The neighbourhood is very quiet which worked very well for me. Sorina is helpful with a very good network. I needed to book diving sessions and she contacted the owner of best dive centre in Alona beach which is owned and operated by 100% very skilled and professional Felipinos “Alona divers” and organised dives for me. Highly recommend this place for the peace of mind.

The property is away from the main strip so it’s a lot quieter which was nice. With a scooter, it’s a 5 minute drive to the centre of the town. The rooms are a good size and nice and clean. The Filipino staff are also very accomodating and do what they can to help. The pool is a great size, and there’s an outdoor (undercover) gym with a range of equipment which was a nice bonus.

The mattresses felt like concrete and were without a doubt the hardest we slept on throughout our 3 weeks in the Phillipines. The owners, who are Eastern European, run the place like a money making business. Everything has an additional fee (including butter). Prices are significantly higher at the hotel (scooter is 500, in town 1km away it’s 350, chocolate hill tour is 3500 for a car, elsewhere between 2500-3000). The local staff working there were also not shown respect by the female owner would tell them what to say and then roll her eyes. We felt the place didn’t treat their staff and their customers with the kindest customer service.

Wonderful stay! The staff is very professional, welcoming, kind, and accommodating. I loved how spotless and well organized my room was with all the essentials. The entire resort is cozy and quiet with a nice pool. It's the perfect place to reset after exploring the busy areas of town. I also enjoyed their delicious quick meals whenever I was too tired to go out for dinner. Try the crêpes!!😋 Overall 10/10, I hope to be back soon.

The owner was very kind to arrange travel for us for our required destinations. ( Sea of Clouds for which we left at 3.30 in the early morning.) The staff is excellent and attentive to your every need. We liked the location. This is a late post I travelled in early november. I am not sure if I remember the chef's name correctly, I think it's Lily and she prepared an excellent meal for us. Forgive me if i got the name wrong. The owners are very friendly. Overall a great stay.

I would have given a 10 except that we faced slight issue in the water supply to the shower and the washroom on the 2nd day. Though I understand that water supply from the municipality is not in anyone's control, however if the water pressure would have been better it would have been the perfect stay.

Perfect accommodation to explore Panglao. It is not located in the center so it offers a quiet space to relax. You can easily reach the center by tricycle or motorbike. The accommodation itself was very clean and the staff was extremely helpful and friendly. I would definitely recommend coming here!

Selectum Mangrove Resort was calm and serene. The staff were very friendly and attentive. The room was clean, the matress was nice and firm, the bathroom was stocked and had adequate water pressure. The air con was amazing. Whenever we needed to go different places the staff called us a tuk tuk. They also serve food on site. The food was fresh and delicious. They even accommodated our late fresh fruit shake craving. Can’t fault this place. Highly recommend.

It also includes a safety box for valuables 🔒. - Bathrooms: The toilets are clean and well-lit, with bright lights above the mirror, making them easy to use. - Dogs: The cute and friendly dogs around the resort add a lovely touch 🐶. - Location for Divers: The resort is in a perfect location for divers, within walking distance to the dive shop, and scooters are available for rent, making it easy to explore. Overall, a comfortable and 10/10 stay!

Selectum Mangrove is a small, family-friendly hotel that offers a very nice and calm atmosphere. The staff are incredibly kind and attentive, making you feel right at home. Alona Beach is conveniently close, and I rented a bike, which made it just a 5-minute ride from the hotel. The food at the hotel is exceptionally delicious, all made locally with fresh ingredients—nothing is pre-cooked. The pool is a wonderful feature there is also a gym, and the room is spacious enough for two people, providing a perfect blend of comfort and relaxation.
